We all sat down around the table that we claimed as 'ours' the beginning of this year, which wasn't really long ago. It felt nice when we all sat together again. Kind of as if we were never even separated in the first place.

"So what's up with all these semi-threats from Jeff to Justin?" Rebecca couldn't keep gossip away from her, she always had to be the first to know. She never spread any around anyways. For her, knowing all of this was 'just entertainment' for her.

I shifted uncomfortably in my chair remembering Justin's last text to me. "Uh. Justin kind of told me he liked me and Jeff saw the text.."

"Oh my god! You have two boys going after you? I want that." She pouted while eating her food.

"Don't you have Alex?" Ace wiggled her eyebrows at the blonde blushing girl who just smiled.

"And how's it going with Monty?" Becca winked over at Ace who just rolled her eyes.

"Don't get me started on that boy." The brunette groaned shaking her head.

"Oo. Monty?" I asked with a smirk.

She shrugged as she drank her drink,"He keeps talking to me. I'm not interested in fuckboys, though."

"Damn girl. You tell 'em." Maddy chuckled at her sass.

"Oh, shut up. What about you?" Ace raised her eyebrows while Maddy just shook her head and looked down. "What? I mean you have to get over Je-Jensen." Her eyes widened a bit before stuffing her face with food.

I gasped lightly at the new piece of information. "You're crushing on Clay and you didn't even tell me?"

Maddy's eyes were wide as well but she shrugged and ate more. "It-it was just a little crush. I don't like him anymore." She said quickly making my eyebrows furrow.

"So Jeff, Clay, and I were going to go to the Crestmont theater and then to Monet's. Wanna come?" I asked no one in particular, since I knew that most everyone had things to do.

"Practice."

"Hanging out with Alex."

"Uh..dance..?" Madeline looked at me win hopeful eyes.

"Nope. You said dance was cancelled after school today." I pointed out, stealing one of her French fries.

She sighed and nodded,"Okay. I'll go. He doesn't hate me still..does he?"

"No. He's all cool" I smiled reassuringly at her.

"Why did he hate me anyways? I didn't do anything to him."

"He just couldn't believe that you would do something like that to your best friend, I guess." I shrugged with a small smirk. Madeline was so oblivious to everything around her, so the fact that she didn't know Jeff used to like her, didn't surprise me.

Clay decided to drive today and picked everyone up from their houses to go to the theater. Maddy sat in the passenger seat while Jeff and I sat in the back.

"Hey. So no PDA back there, okay?" Clay looked at us in the rear view mirror.

"Yes, dad." We both murmured out as we sat in the back.

Jeff was behind Clay and I in the middle. Yet, there was this large gap between Jeff and I. It felt strange since he always sat so close to me and held my hand. Now, his hand just laid on top of mine.

Jeff and I sat in silence meanwhile Clay and Maddy laughed about a joke. The volume of the radio was turned up and the song "Call Me Maybe" played loudly through the car. When Clay, Mads, Jeff, and I used to hang out more often, this would be our song. No matter where we were, we would blast the song.

"Hey, I just met you!" Clay shouted out with a hand motion and a large smile.

"And this is crazy." Maddy followed along.

But here's my number, so call me maybe.

No one sang at that line, making Clay pout through the rear view mirror. "Come on guys. Don't be lame."

"But here's my number.." Jeff mumbled lowly with a small smile.

"So call me maybe!" We said over enthusiastically together. Everyone in the car bursted into laughter.

Clay pouted once again,"I miss us all hanging out."

"Me too. But I guess baseball's star played doesn't have time for us anymore." Maddy said, turning to Jeff teasingly.

Jeff shook his head,"Nah. I just don't hang out with them dance losers anymore."

A fake gasp slipped from her lips,"how dare you? Take it back."

"Naw. I'm okay." Jeff smiled widely as he shook his head.

The car came to a stop in a parking space close to the movie theater and we walked up to the middle aged man that worked behind the booth. Once we got there, everyone looked at me expectantly.

"May I help you?" The thick sarcasm coated my words as I spoke them.

Clay shrugged his shoulder at me,"It's your turn to choose the movie."

There was about ten movies listed and most of them were ones that I've already seen or were throw backs.

"Let's watch Beauty and the Beast" I said excitedly.

No one argues with me as we pay for the tickets and go inside. "I'll get us some popcorn." Maddy says as she makes her way to the counter.

"I'll help her with the popcorn." Jeff smiled going over to the counter with her.

I saw the way he looked at her as she laughed at something he said. The way that her cheeks would heat up at small compliments.

"You okay there?" I turned around to see Clay with a raised eyebrow.

My shoulder shrugged and I smiled forcefully,"why don't you think I am?"

"Uh, I don't know. Maybe because you keep glancing towards Jeff and Maddy longingly." His eyebrows furrowed while pointing over at the two.

I shook my head at him. "I'm staring at the popcorn. I'm fine."

"Ah. Classic jealousy." Clay leaned back in his chair with a smug smile on his face.

My lips pursed tightly, looking away from Clay. "I'm not jealous."

A smirk made his face with a glint of amusement in his eyes,"that's exactly what a jealous person would say."

"Don't say that word."

"What word? Jealous?" Clay smiled shaking his head as if he was rubbing it in.

"Who's jealous?" I turned to see Jeff standing with two bags of popcorn.

"Well-"

"Clay is jealous from the amount of attention the popcorn is getting from you instead of him." A small glare was shot to Clay making him smiled widely and nod.

Jeff pouted,"Awe. It's okay, we can share from the same popcorn to make it up to you."

We walked inside the theater, Jeff sat next to me. Maddy was on his other side and then Clay by hers. Throughout the whole movie Maddy and Jeff joked and laughed. The way they looked at each other while they did made me realize something.

Maddy never liked Jensen, she still liked Jeff. And he liked her back.
