Chapter 12: Mission Day 4; A Moment to Think (Edited; Please Reread)

Me: Okay, it's been a while. I wonder how they'll react when they come in. I haven't been in the building for a few weeks, maybe they'll kick my butt. I need to make a surprise chapter. Might as well intro.

Hey, everyone!!! It's been a while since I've made a chapter, since I got grounded for a month. BUT at least I got it for Navidad!!! I'm gonna make this chapter as quick and well as I can before the others arrive.

Naruto: Since we might be the only ones in the chapter, let's do our best for Adri's return! How about it Hinata?

Hinata: Sounds good, let's do it!

Me: Thanks guyyyysss!!!! How about you do the saying for me, do it together!!!

Naruto: I'm up for it!

Hinata: As long as Naruto is okay with it, then I am too.

Me: 3... 2... 1 GO!

Naruto and Hinata: Adri does not own 'Naruto' or the characters from it, please excuse grammar mistakes, we hope you enjoy our efforts, vote, comment, and let's get right on to the chapter!!!

Naruto: We did great!

Hinata: *blushes* *giggles* I agree.

In Naruto's Mind: She's so cute!!!!

Hinata's POV:
Location: La Barca Hotel; Hotel Room #I124, Kitchen
Time: 10:45 am

"Thank you for breakfast! Your cooking's awesome Hinata!," the blond spy said as he stood up from his chair after just consuming his breakfast made that I made, he seemed to enjoy it. A pink blush on plastered on my cheeks. "It was nothing, I'm sorry I slept in," I said looking down as I took our plates took them to the sink to wash them.

I could feel Naruto's eyes on me as I turned on the water, I couldn't tell if he was concerned or just looking. "Nah, it's okay. Don't feel bad. I sleep in even if I'm napping, you know" he said, shocking me, I didn't know he'd say that, it was probably him just being his kind self, but somehow, it felt as if it were more than that, I just couldn't explain what, though it made me feel warm. I couldn't help but let a soft giggle at his sentence.

"Thank you, your so kind Naruto," I mentioned, he seemed surprised, and a streak of red found his way to his cheeks. He was surprised at what I said? I'm surprised at the fact that he blushed at something I said.

"Umm, I-I'm gonna go see if I can get more i-information on Toneri. I wonder if I can manage to use that damn laptop without punching it again," he said, muttering the last sentence but I heard, he was making his way to the bedroom were his laptop was, he seemed to be in a hurry.

Naruto was never all that friendly with devices, since it wasn't him main focus. He was more or less a person who would try to resolve their problems in a way that didn't center on wires and buttons. Frankly, I wasn't that great with devices like Shikamaru, but I wasn't the worst. Not to mention, Naruto has a short temper when it comes to devices, just yesterday he was frustrated because he couldn't find much and nearly punched the poor laptop, until I stopped him from doing so. I giggle at the memory. "Oh Naruto."

Naruto's POV:

What the heck happened back there?

I felt my cheeks heat up. Oh No! Do I have a fever?

I touch my forehead to prove my theory, only to feel it wasn't hot or cold, it was room temperature; meaning I was wrong, it's not a fever. Then I didn't have a fever.

Like a cold slap, I remembered a time when me and one of Kiba's most trusted man and dog went on a tracking mission two months ago.

~Flashback; Two Months Ago~

Location: Asakusa, Tokyo; Sensoji Temple

We were walking, looking for a dangerous hitman, and we saw a guy give his girlfriend a bouquet of flowers, and her cheeks became red.

"Awww, that's nice, he took her out while she's sick," I said smiling, making my partner and his dog both looked at me with a is-that-what-you-think face. "What?," I asked.

"Why do you think that?," he asked, he didn't see it?

"She has a fever. Can't you see her red cheeks?," I asked with a questioning tone, I thought it was obvious.

"She's not sick, she's blushing," he corrected, leaving me confused. "Blushing?"

"Yeah, blushing. When you feel flustered, embarrassed, or ashamed, your cheeks get red and hot, if it's bad, your whole face heats up, right Tobimaru," he said, calling out to his dog, Tobimaru, who braked at his owner in agreement. "Love makes you do crazy things."

I never thought of it that way.

~Flashback End~

Was I blushing? Dagh! But is it really that that's bothering me? Maybe we can take a break for lunch later, I hope Hinata cooks again, she rocks at it.

Now that I think about it, Hinata did make some rice balls that looked like me back then, didn't I say that she'd make somebody one heck of a wife one day? I retrace my memory, and I did say that. Huh, from what I know Hinata is single (figures from all the work she's getting now a days), I'm pretty sure she'll find someone. In the case of adults, we're still young, so it won't surprise me that one of us will get married soon, especially Hinata. The thought of Hinata being married kinda..... irked me, you know. Hinata seems like the type of person who wants to work hard for those she loves and cares and make them happy, she cares more about others than herself, I envy the lucky bastard who will end up with such a great person like Hinata. If she were married, then maybe, no I'm sure, that she'll end up with someone who will treat her right, someone who will keep her safe with his life, and as a friend, I'm going to make sure that he's right for her, you know. Suddenly an image of that guy Hinata was talking to at the gala, Kaori, and that smile that never seemed to leave his face. Why did I get so angry, even now? They seemed to be having a nice chat, and I just... cut in. Somehow I don't regret it as much as I think I do.

I sigh at my acts, I was really selfish, you know. But the same twisting feeling in my gut was there whenever I thought of Hinata being married or Kaori. Why this was? I didn't know. I wish I did, though.

This is all so distracting! I need to find more information

I start looking through the governments database. Kakashi learned we were having a hard time, so he pulled a few strings and he gave us a whole new stream with information that a friend gave him. I wonder how many Icha-Icha Paridise, books that Pervy Sage wrote, friends he makes that have this access.

~Time Skip; 9 Hours Later~

Third Person POV:
Location: La Barca Hotel; Hotel Restaurant; Lobby
Time: 7:32 pm

It was the evening and the sun had already said it's farewell, since the winter solstice had passed, the days were much shorter than in the summer solstice, and the moon had made center stage. Our agents, Naruto and Hinata, had gone down to eat at the restaurant in the hotel's lobby, much to Naruto's dismay. He was very much hoping that Hinata would volunteer to make dinner, yet when she had suggested to go down to the restaurant, Naruto agreed. He wasn't the type of person to force something on someone, especially someone as dear and close to him as Hinata, for his own benefit. They had a special bond, he knew this very well, so he didn't want that bond to break for such a stupidly petty reason. He treasures his friends and comrades, including the bonds that tied them as friends and comrades, since he was shunned since childhood and was never able to feel the warmth of friends or a family, so he wouldn't want them to falter, or break, now that he had made countless bonds.

They ate in silence, though, none of them new if it was an awkward silence, they didn't have anything to say, which was weird for Naruto. To be honest, Naruto wanted to ask about Kaori, but he mostly feared for what Hinata would answer. He remembered how he was angry at himself for interrupting in their conversation, so he thought maybe she too was angry at his antics.

Hinata had been disappointed at him for what he did, but she could never be mad at him, though, overall she was confused, at that moment, when he got in between her and Kaori, at the gala, she thought he didn't notice her but, why would he even go there at the speed he did. Her confusion was tested yet again when he turned and took her hand firmly as it saying your safe right? And his eyes held a feeling of worry. What was more shocking was how he interrupted her sentence when she was introducing them, to say that he was her husband made her heart race, though she knew it was fake. She couldn't help but think, almost hope, that he was being protective of her, yet he knew she could take care of herself; so why did he act the way he did? It was all that was on her mind, not even her main goal was lingering in her mind for those seconds.

A sigh escaped both of them simultaneously, and they looked at each other is confusion and shock, which turned into a fit of laughter. To Naruto her laugh was that of an angels and he wished he could have replayed it over and over, he made note to make her laugh more. To Hinata his laugh was filled with happiness and it was lively, it made her happy knowing he was.

"So, why did we sigh at the same time, is something wrong?," asked the blond as he took another slurp of his miso pork ramen, wondering what could have made the pupiless woman in front of him sigh in a seemingly depressed manner, not to mention he did as well, but he wasn't going to let that out.

"O-Oh, it's just that I'm worried about Friday," said the lavender eyed spy, grateful for her abilities to lie quickly, a habit she picked up in her training years in the agency, and it was a useful skill that was almost necessary on the field, especially on undercover missions such as mission yours truly. There was also the skill of coming up with a lie that was believable, to avoid any further unwanted questions or circumstances that would be unnecessary to a spy in the least.

She felt bad for the lies.

"Oh, yeah. You have that appointment with Toneri, you nervous?," he asked, speaking with a noodle hanging on the left side of his lip, making the lavender eyed spy giggle. Naruto, mentally, scored at the fact that he made her laugh in that angelic sound. She pointed at her lip to tell him about the noodle that he had yet to noticed.

"A little," she said, watching the blond spy lick the noodle off his face and continue eating peacefully. She was nervous, since she didn't really know what to expect from the upcoming appointment, she hoped she would have been good enough to not get in danger, she was meeting up with their main opponent.

"Well, just for heads up, I wish you luck," he said, slurping the last noodles of his porkalicious ramen, and drinking all of its broth in one quick sip and gulp, "Ahhh," he said, satisfied at the fact that he was able to release all of his computer stress with his favorite meal.

"S-Sounds like you enjoyed yourself th-there, Renzo," the lavender eyed spy said smiling at the man I front of her. Yes they still had to use those aliases if they were talking to anyone who weren't themselves or the team. It was a pain, but not something they couldn't put up with.

"It was great, but Ichiraku's is better," the blond said, reminiscing over the delicious noodles he ate at his favorite restaurant, he and Ichiraku's shared history and memories. The owner, Teuchi, was one of the first people who didn't care that nobody dared to get close or even glance at the boy, he was even warned from time to time, but he didn't care, Naruto loved ramen and Teuchi and his daughter, Ayame, loved making it.

They chatted for a while and savored the moment, it was one of the only chances where they could take a break from researching, plus, they felt that with each other it was better, to spectators and random people passing by, they saw the pair and assumed they were on a date, and it had the aura of one. After Hinata had finished her meal, they asked for the check and retire to their respective room, and from a nice dinner it was back to researching and raping it up for the day, tomorrow was another day.

In a moment of silence, Naruto swore he heard Hinata say something like: "I feel l*ke I'* the m*s* app*lle* ", under her breath. Though, he couldn't catch it all, just bits and pieces that made there way to his ears and eventually his brain, forgetting some of the letters. He had asked if she said anything, but she replied that she didn't say anything. It still captivated him.

They found some more personal information on Toneri, one they didn't expect. Toneri apparently lost his mother during childbirth and his father then died to an illness, when he was twelve years old. Afterwards, he was taken under the care of his grandfather, Hamura Ōtsutsuki, who was a retired astronaut, he was the man who hid the documents on the moon, those documents are what Toneri is after.

Just why would he want them?
