ness woke up first, usually more of a restless sleeper. He woke to see Jeff, laying face first, his glasses somehow intact. ness stood up and looked up. it was endless black. he took a step back. "OW '' came the most familiar, snotty, obnoxious voice ness ever heard. "POKEY?!?!" ness exclaimed, not foreseeing this. "well hello to you too ness" "why are you here?" ness hissed a little as he said this. " Well I saw you going to the mountain with that new kid, and I got curious! also i wanted to see if the monsters were real! It's not my fault that I have an intense sense of curiosity! I couldn't help myself!" ness stared at him blankly. He heard Jeff stir. "JEFF'' ness yelled " oh my god i'm so sorry how did this happen I JUST MET YOU LAST WEEK" "ness ness it's fine i'm fine," he eyed pokey "who is that" "im pokey, ness's next door neighbor and BEST FRIEND'' pokey exclaimed. Jeff looked down and answered the question he was about to ask. "These must be some hard flowers. That was a really big fall and it still cushioned us and remained intact" ness didn't notice how that was what cushioned his fall "oh yeah '' ness said. pokey looked ahead at the corridor in front of them "look, a door!" he said " i'm not going in there first, ness you do it!" ness turned away and rolled his eyes. pokey was unreliable on another level. Onnet has lots of feral animals usually, and when a rabid dog or spiteful looking crow appeared, pokey just sat there unhelpful, sometimes even using ness as a shield. At least his little brother's pikey tried to help, sometimes attacking and doing damage. ness looked down the corridor himself to see a wide, giant open doorway, not exactly a door. ness, jeff, and pokey (hiding behind ness) stared at the doorway. "We have to find a way out of here." ness said solemnly. "Well duh" pokey said. "but the monsters aren't gonna help us" "there has to be a way out and it's not here." ness started waking to the door, with jeff following from behind, and pokey reluctantly but frantically joining about a foot away from jeff
