Days. Weeks. Months. You never heard of Natasha, because after the fight the very next day you found a box on your doorstep, she had sent you your stuff from your office, signed the resignation paper that you didn't know existed, and she wrote you a recommendation letter for the next job you'd go into. And from that, it was confirmed, that whatever it was between the both of you was over.
So on the very same day, you blocked her, from her cellphone number to her social media. Things were over so it meant that cutting her off of your life, even if you've spent months with her, meant nothing because you are nothing, she made clear of that before she left that night.
A few weeks later you got a new job, it wasn't anywhere near your old one which meant a new environment and new people. This time your first day wasn't shit at all, it went surprisingly well. It was a magazine agency, your land lady was the reason why you got in because she had connections and she was one of the stockholders, so you owe her this one.
Merlita or Lita for short, your landlady, found out that you were a degree holder which gave her the idea that you're the perfect candidate to fill up for the position they needed. So that's that.
For months and months you've worked there nonstop, and your salary began to go higher as the agency's reputation has gained its position back in the industry. You've met people from other places and you've worked with them for a while until they had to go somewhere because their job here is not enough to hone their ability, so you also said your fair goodbyes to them.
Time passed and your landlady, was not your land lady anymore as she was only 'Lita' now since you've finally paid off the debt that your mother caused for the house.
But even then, when your life became better your brothers found a job your father was doing great than ever, Johnny raising his child, and Nathan on his last year of college, the thought of Natasha is still sometimes in your mind. Sometimes you'd think about her, of how she was doing, or did she ended up marrying Haley, and you'd end up laughing at those thoughts. It was hard not to think about her or even forget about her because you couldn't, but it wasn't hard for you either to take your mind off and be busy with something else instead — she was your first, although not legally, but it's the same, and clearly, probably she'll be your last. Relationships aren't for you anyway, and years of years being single proved that until Natasha came which left you thinking that maybe after all this time you were single because you were meant to be 'the other woman' — that long-life relationships were not your thing, and that you were only going to be that person who's 'people watching'.
Natasha, on the other hand, is doing great, she has things going on with Haley, but she was half happy with what her life became of. Because for one, she's going to marry Haley at some point, and since there is no other hold-up, what better way than to do it now? And two, she felt like if she tied down the knot with her fiancée, she fears she'll never get to do what she wanted, and it also meant that fifty percent of the company would go to Haley, somewhere in those thoughts had her skin crawling with chills.
However, the constant thought of you always leads her back to your house, sometimes she drives past it, hoping she'd see you, but she never does. There are also times when she parks her car a few blocks from your house for hours until she decides she'd had enough. She never saw you and it's been months — it's nearly going to be a year now yet she still doesn't know what she'd tell you if she sees you. There's no denying it when Natasha had a one-to-one in front of the mirror, practicing her lines that she'd say but every time she ended up frustrated and unfinished, and eventually gave up, and went back to Haley instead because at least she didn't have to practice the things she'd say to her fiancée, maybe.
You lay in your bed, staring at the ceiling when your phone suddenly rings, Lita on the other side of it, telling you she needs you at the office, said it was an emergency, so, of course, you acted quickly and got on in your car as fast as possible. When you got there, all she needed was for you to think of a headline of the latest news. And when you saw it, you couldn't believe the pictures on the front page. It was a picture of Haley and Natasha candidly with a diamond ring on Haley's hand. You understood what it meant but you needed Lita to tell you — exactly the words you've been preparing yourself to hear. And she said, in this same manner, "Ms. Natasha and Ms. Haley, are getting married. Make a headline of it ASAP, and please put it on the front page, it'll make a lot of gossip, and more money for us."
