I woke up at 4:46 this morning because I was to excited to sleep. Today is my 16th birthday, which means I will finally learn more about my parents past. Or at leased that's what they told me once.... Every year my mom asked me what I want for my birthday, and I always ask for the same thing. I locket. So far I have 15 of them. But this year I want something different. Something I might get in trouble asking for.... Well I'm going to ask anyway. Ask for a Mockingjay pin. My mom only wears it once a year on The Mockingjay Rebellion day. Iv heard little about it but apparently my mom is "The Mockingjay". I run downstairs and into the kitchen were I find a beautiful white and light pink frosted cake. "Happy Sweat 16!" I read from the cake. My dad spent all night working on it. It's so beautiful with its delicately frosted cover. On the edge of the cake he even added frosted primroses, because they are my favorite flowers. I heard a creak in the stairs and looked back to see Rye. "Happy Birthday sis." He said while smiling. "Thanks." I say while walking away from the cake. I look at the clock and it's already 6:00 am. I must have been out here for awhile. I hop up the stairs and go get ready for today. I put my flowing brown hair into two braids and throw on a black shirt and black leather jacket. I also throw on some dark jeans just to match everything else. I run downstairs and everyone's awake. My dad and Rye are making breakfast while my mom gets stuff ready for the party later. "Happy birthday Willow!" My mom and dad shout. "Thanks!" I say happily. My mom looked like she was about to cry. Probably cause I'm her only girl, and I'm already sixteen.
