|Cassie|

For the next three days, Dad's mood has been dramatically getting better. He's still hurting, but there hasn't been any unplanned secret emotional breakdowns nor late night crying. In fact, it's almost like nothing happened since another story about some celebrity being robbed by his ex wife took over, blowing my mother situation out of existence.

"There's a snowstorm coming in today." Dad called to Clarke, William, and I from the couch.

Clarke squealed know excitement before putting the finishing touches of her gingerbread house. She licked the frosting off her fingers and turned to us. "Does that mean your fairytale kiss will actually happen?"

"You told her?" William jabbed my in my shoulder with his elbow.

"What fairytale kiss?" Dad called.

"If course I told her. Shes my twin sister. Either way, she would of found out." I looked up at him. "Besides it's not really a kiss. More like a fake kiss."

"What this talk about a kiss?" Dad said a little louder.

"Oh come on. This has to be your first kiss." Clarke looked at me. "Can you imagine how jealous everyone gonna be at school?"

"We're not gonna actually kiss." I explained. "More like stopping before our lips collide into each other."

Dad appeared at the counter, giving all of us a cold eye. We all froze in our spot, staring at him.

"What fairytale kiss?" He asked again. Looking over at William.

"Cassie and William have to kiss in front of the paparazzi downtown today." Clarke blurted out.

Williams cheeks burned bright red and I'm pretty sure so were mine at this point.

"We're not actually gonna kiss." I also tell him.

"You better not." He looked over William this time. "You out of all people aren't taking away my baby girl special moment."

"Yes sir." William said.

"I mean if you want to take away my special moment I wouldn't mind." Clarke mumbled. Clarke wasn't obsessed with William anymore. Only because he's been living at our house for the past five days. The feelings sort of died down.

"No!" Dad yelled.

Even though Dad isn't the most overprotective father in the world, he did care about our special moments being taken away from us from people who don't deserve it. To him a kiss isn't something we should just give away for free and he's definitely taught us that once we knew what kissing actually was. He told us we deserve someone special, someone who means a lot that if you do let them take away your first kiss, you won't regret it after wards. According to him a kiss is a commitment. And according to stories I've heard as a child, a kiss tells you if you belong with that person. If you guys are actually soulmates.

"Do you guys wanna go grab something to eat? I'm starving." I quickly change the subject. I really don't want to think about almost kissing William right now. We've been putting it off until the last day and since Angie said it has to be a fairytale like kiss; we decided to do it when it snows. What's more romantic then kissing in the snow? Well kissing someone you love is one.

"I'll go grab us some Chinese food." Clarke said, grabbing the keys off the counter. "Dad how about you join me?"

"It would be my pleasure, but I'm driving." He snatched the key from Clarke's hand. "Cassie how about you pick the movie for tonight."

"You got it dad!" I called. He smiled before shutting the front door.

I turned on my heels, bumping into William's chest. "Do you mind finding the Harry Potter series for them while I go change into something better." I looked down at the oversized hoodie and sweats I've been wearing all day.

"I think you look good." A smirk spread across his face. I glared. "Okay, fine go change. I'll find the movie." He looked over at Cress who was investigating our ginger bread houses, "maybe she can help."

"Don't count on it!" I hollered before walking into my room and scavenging for the perfect date night outfit.

After pacing in and out of both Clarke's and my room, I found the outfit I was gonna wear.

A warm and fuzzy pink sweater that clung close to me and some legging since nothing shows winter spirit like some black leggings. I grabbed Clarke's black boots that went up to our calves and grabbed a plain gray pair of boot socks. They were so warm, I could just not wear them. I curled the tips of my hair, went with a natural look. Trying Clarke's new eyeshadow palette that was just laying on the counter of the bathroom. I ended up going with a light shade of eye shadow with a sparkly semi-clearly shade on top. After finishing the last touches on my eyes, I grabbed lip gloss and quickly coated my lips.

"Hey Cassie we should probably go!" I heard William call.

I walked out into the living room and stare out the window. Tiny white snowflakes fell from the crying sky gently.

"Dad's not home yet. He has the car." I reminded him.

He turned and his face instantly dropped. "Wow."

"Was that a good wow or a bad wow?" I asked. Looking frantically at my outfit.

"It's a good wow." He smiles. "Defiantly a good wow."

I smile quickly right as the front door opened.

"We brought delicious grub!" Dad called.

"We even got you guys tiny boxes so you can eat on the way." Clarke smiled before handing me the sack.

Dad pulled me to the side. "Have fun okay?"

"Yes Dad." I smile before looking over at Clarke who tossed William the keys.

"If I see one scratch on the car I will personally kill you." She said, staring straight into his eyes.

"I likes it better when she was in love with me." He whispered making me let out a small giggle.

"Have a great fake date!" Clarke called before the door shut.

"Have I ever told you how much I wish I had a family like yours?" William asked when we got into the car.

"We might have our upside downs, but we're always watching each others backs." I smile while looking at myself in the side mirror. "I wouldn't ask for anything else."

I could feel his smile on the back of my head right before the engine roared to life. The lights reflecting the white snow falling down.

"You hate your father don't you?" I couldn't help but ask.

William sighed. "Yeah."

"I'm sorry."

"I don't need any sympathy for not loving my father like lost children do. He only cares about himself and my fame." he blurted out and by the look on his face, he didn't mean too. "I'm sorry if that sounded angry."

"It's fine." I grin. Plugging in the aux cord into my phone and selection the Christmas playlist I've created these past couple of days.

"Christmas songs? Already?" William asked with a smile.

"Yup. Tomorrow the first day of December. Of course I'm gonna play some amazing Christmas music." I explain.

"Never been a huge Christmas guy." He then tells me.

"Well you're gonna be his year." I tell him. "And that's the only option I'm giving you."

I could sense the warmth from Williams fingertips against my hand as we walked along the empty streets of downtown NorthBrooks. It was so quiet that you could only hear out footsteps against the cement covered in a light layer of snow. A couple other couples walked the fully lit up streets and pathways, yet it almost felt like we were the only ones.

"Paparazzi up by the coffee shop." William whispered in my ear.

I looked over to see what he was talking about. A man in all black with an orange vest stood there watching us. Talking on the phone while a husky sniffed the ground underneath him.

"How you know?" I asked.

"Just watch." He smiled before turning a corner.

I looked behind me quickly to see the man now taking a photo with his phone of both of us. I turned my head before I saw the flash to off.

"Wow, you definitely can tell who's paparazzi or not." I compliment him, or at least what I think would be a compliment.

"I've had years if practice." He grinned.

His eyes traced the strings of lights along the sides of us. All a bright white color with every couple seconds turning into the color red.

I felt the air temperature change and just like an instinct, my body was sent into a range of shivers.

I felt William release his grip before placing his arm around me shoulders, pulling me into him.

"Is that a paparazzi over there?" I whispered. William looked to where I was staring and closely investigated the woman leaning against the wall texting her phone. Looking up every couple of seconds.

"Well it looks like I've taught you well." William smiled down at me.

"Let's do something cute. Get her attention." I suggested.

He raised his eyebrow, "like what?"

"Kiss my forehead." I quickly said.

Without any hesitation I felt his lips on the top of my head. In the corner of my eye I saw the woman snatch a photo before returning back to her original stance.

"We got her attention now." I whispered.

"How about we stop worrying about the paparazzi?" William grinned.

"Isn't that the entire point."

"Yeah, well if we worry about the people trying to make us the front headline of the national news we won't actually enjoy the beautiful things in front of us."

"That was actually poetic in some ways." I smile.

"I read it in a book." He smiled.

"Obviously. I know you've been reading my private library."

He readjusted his grip on me. "I know since we've been no more than ten feet apart these last week which I still have idea how you haven't gotten sick of me yet."

"I grew up with a twin sister, it takes a lot for me to get sick of someone." I tell him.

We passed a man playing an old wooden guitar. William stopped in front of him, grabbing my hand as his arm started to get tired. I saw his foot tapping against the ground as the man continued to play the Christmas love song I recognized from my childhood.

William let go of my hand before pulling out his wallet. Dropping a twenty dollar bill into the open guitar case.

"God bless you." The man said in between music notes.

William smiled before grabbing my hand and walking away from the guitar man.

"That was really nice if you." I told him.

"I know good musicians when I see them." He tells me, "that man one day will make it big."

I snagged up against Williams arm to warm myself.

He looked down at me with a half smile, "how about on the way hone we stop and get some hot chocolate."

"I'd like that." I smile, staring at the covered sidewalk before us. Couples taking cute photos in front of the lights. Others talking about how this was the best day they've had in their entire life.

We reached the fountain, still turned on. Lights surrounded the outer rim. We both watch the water being shooting out of the fountain in front of us.

William handed me a penny, "make a wish."

"You know I don't believe in wishes." I joke.

"Well I do." He grinned before throwing the penny into the fountain.

"Fine." I shut my eyes, made a wish, and threw the penny into the fountain.

"What you wish for?" He asked, looking down at me.

"It's a secret." I smile.

He smiled. "Well aren't you gonna ask what I wished for?"

I rolled my eyes. "Alright what did you wish for."

"This." He grabbed my chin tilting it up towards him before placing his warm lips on mine. I was furious at first until I found myself actually kissing him back. It was like a spark went off between us. My heart was racing and it almost felt like I couldn't breathe. My cheeks were burning up. What felt like a lifetime turned out to be a total of three seconds before he pulled away. A smile on his face right besides his frozen nose and red stained cheeks.

"Wow." That's all I had to say. I wasn't mad that he stole my first kiss. I was absolutely speechless.

"Is that a good wow or bad wow?" He asked.

"Good wow." I said. Still my mind jumbled up at what just happened.

"Good." He smiled before resting his hand on my shoulder.

Unlike most of the other times, his touch made my heart and breath quicken.

"Just so you know. About three paparazzi got a photo of us kissing back there." He mentioned when we got to the car.

"Good." I chuckled nervously.

He looked over at me from the driving seat. "Why are you so nervous all of a sudden? You're not mad at me for stealing your first kiss are you?"

It was so hard to look him in the eye right now. "No I'm not mad. I should be, but I'm not."

"So why are you so nervous?" He asked again.

I don't know what came over me. Maybe it's because I wanted to feel his lips one more time. But I leaned over the divided and planted my lips onto his. I felt his hands be placed firmly on both my cheeks as we kissed. I was pretty sure he could hear my heart pounding from my chest, but I didn't care. Neither of us did, because right now. Right now, it felt like the world stopped spinning around us and it was just us in the world.

Then it hit me. Hit me so hard that I pulled away from the kiss and stared at the street in front of me. In February I'm gonna have to break his heart. Ill never see him again after that and act like nothing happened between. I'll never see the boy I fell in love with again.
