|Cassie|

When I got home from the book store, there was a huge smile still plastered across my face and my mind was going absolutely crazy. Racing around and trying to grab as many thoughts as it could. Clarke must of felt the energy radiating off me. She stopped in front of me holding a pop tart.

"What's up with you?" She gave me a once over before smiling. She knew.

"I just met a fellow book worm." I was practically swooning right now just thinking about it. Replaying everything in my head. "And he's really attractive and everything."

"Right." Clarke was skeptical. I could tell by her voice changing tone.

I was still skeptical. Thinking I just made up this Greek god of a masterpiece. So I pulled out my phone and found his name written in it.

Kevin.

"Oh my god, you're serious." Clarke was peering over my shoulder which I didn't realize she was doing until it was too late. "Come on." She dragged me to the couch, "tell me everything."

"Well he's really tall." I could feel my cheeks start to burn up. "His brown eyes are the prettiest set of brown eyes which I thought was impossible. He has brown curly hair and he enjoys reading romance."

"I didn't know it was in your blood to like a guy so much," she jokes.

"Come on. He's attractive and reads. Total turn on right there." I grin. Uncontrollably of course.

"Well Dad suppose to be home in a few hours so I'm going to go head over to Rue's house if you want to come?" So nice for Clarke to offer me to third wheel.

"I'm good." I smile.

"Alright." Clarke walked over to the counter and grabbed her bag, "now don't go stalking Kevin too hard on social media alright? Its not healthy."

"Got it."

"And do something else besides read all day. Preferably Mr. Marks math homework so I can pass."

"Alright." I smile before picking up my book bag from the floor that I must of dropped when Clarke dragged me to the couch.

"Come on Cassie," I said to myself, staring at the aesthetically pleasing cover. "You waited forever for this. Stop thinking about Kevin and jump into this wonderful piece of literature."

There was a problem, I couldn't get Kevin's face out of my head. I was forcing myself not to look him up on any social media platforms.

Clarke was some genius because she got home right as Dad pulled up into our driveway. I was sitting at the little bench nook in our kitchen, trying to be productive and get my jump on the Pythagorean theorem instead of Kevin.

"You look excited." Dad sat down a large cake on the counter before him. I sat my math homework down and stood up, examining the calories before me.

It was an Oreo cake with white frosting in fancy designs across the edges. Clarke and I have a mild but totally not a controllable obsession of Oreos. Its gotten to the point where we physically have to force ourselves not to even look at them.

"I won't need to eat sugar for a whole month." I let out a small laugh. Both Dad and Clarke chuckled.

"Shall we sing?"

"No!" Both Clarke and I say at the same time.

"How about we open gifts?" Clarke raises her eyebrow at dad suspiciously.

He smiles. "Alright. You win."

"Ill be right back." I smile, running off to my room and looking behind the books on my book shelf, grabbing the white wrapped gift. Best hiding spot if I do say so myself.

I came back into the family room and see Dad setting down two giant boxes. For the last couple of years, Clarke and I only get a total of two presents. One from each other and one from Dad. Personally that's all we need since we usually go out and buy our own stuff with the money we earn from our summer jobs. I work at the bookstore while Clarke works at a makeup shop downtown.

"Who's first?" Dad asked.

"Me!" Clarke yelled in excitement.

I handed her the amazing and thoughtful gift I got. Which took up half my allowance, but if I want to be known as the best gift giver, I had too.

She ripped open the white wrapping paper quickly only to find a small box inside. She opened it slowly and screamed.

The next seconds were kind of a blur. Clarke screamed, dropped the box, and jump onto me, pulling us both to the floor. Only I took the hit for her and she had a cushioned fall.

"Ow." I explain, pushing Clarke off me.

She scrambled and grabbed the box from the floor. "How did you even get these. They were sold out?"

"Uh, it was a very long night waiting for them to go on sale." I tell her. "Buying one was hard enough, but getting the second was extremely difficult."

"You are the best sister in the world!" She yelled.

"Don't even think about jumping on me again." I say while rubbing the back of my head. Checking my fingers for blood which thank God there weren't.

"You okay?" Dad asked.

I nodded my head.

"Alright lets open these." Dad pushed the boxes towards us.

"You didn't!" Clarke yelled.

"I did." He smiled.

"Cassie look!" She held up what looked to me a very expensive makeup pallet and after reading it, I noticed it was the same pallet Clarke would not shut up about for the last three months.

I couldn't help but smile. I knew Dad was going to get it for her since she wouldn't shut up. Pretty much how that's how he finds out what we want.

I ripped open the wrapping paper and the box to see myself staring down at the best thing alive.

"Thank you so much!" I said in excitement.

"Thank you for not jumping on me." Dad joked, eyeing Clarke.

I examined the different books inside, realizing they were all the most popular books of the year in their hardcover form. Probably the best present someone could ever give me.

"Now it's time for Cassie to open my gift. Be right back." Clarke stood up quickly and walked into Dad's room. Coming out with an average size brown box with a cute red bow tied at the top. "Happy birthday Cassie."

"Thank you Clarke," I smile as I grabbed the box from her. Setting it on the ground

I untied the ribbon and opened up the lid of the brown box. Gasping at what was laying their before me.

"Oh my god!" I whispered, almost breaking down in tears.

I gently grabbed the pure white kitten and pulled her to my chest. She let out a tiny meow and I almost lost it.

"She's so cute." I stutter.

"And she took a lot of convincing to get her too." Clarke joked. Kneeling beside me.

I looked up at Dad and he had the biggest smile on his face.

"A friend of mine Cat had kittens. I brought Clarke over since she begged me to see them. That's where she got the idea of getting you a cat."

"Start your crazy cat lady early." Clarke added making me laugh.

"I think we both win amazing gifts." I smile.

"I mean I guess." Clarke said sarcastically.

I sat on my bed trying to think of a creative name for my brand new kitten who was laying down besides me. Fast asleep.

I grabbed my phone and pulled up Kevin's name. Maybe he has an idea.

Cassie 10:59 p.m.
You wouldn't happen to know any good and cute names for an animal would you?

Kevin 11:03 p.m.
Ha-ha, what?

Cassie 11:04 p.m.
My sister got me a pure white kitten and I can't think of a name.

Kevin 11:04 p.m.
How about Snowball?

Cassie 11:05 p.m.
Too common.

Kevin 11:07 p.m.
Picky huh? What about Crescent.

Cassie 11:08 p.m.
Crescent? As in the Crescent moon?"

Kevin 11:09 p.m.
Yeah. Nickname her Cress for short.

Cassie 11:10 p.m.
I like that.

I looked down at Crescent with a smile. "Cress." She opened an eye and yawned.

Cassie 11:10 p.m.
I think she likes it.

Kevin 11:11 p.m.
Hey make a wish.

Cassie 11:11 p.m.
Why?

Kevin 11:11 p.m.
Because it's 11:11, Duh.

Cassie 11:11 p.m.
Oh.

Kevin 11:12 p.m.
You make one?

Cassie 11:12 p.m.
Yes.

Kevin 11:13 p.m.
What was it?

Cassie 11:14 p.m.
Haven't you head wishes don't come true if you tell?

Kevin 11:14 p.m.
I guess not.

I smiled to myself. I didn't believe in wishes coming true especially at 11:11, but somewhere deep down inside was really hoping I was wrong. That my wish would actually come true.
