"Hey, how do we know this is the right way?" Murphy asked as he walked beside frustrated Adella.

"We don't. Spacewalker thinks he's a tracker." Bellamy replied, pointing to Finn with a frown.

"It's called Fourth-year earth skills. He's good." Wells spoke up. Adella hummed In agreement.

"And it doesn't help when you're stomping your feet like an elephant. The grounders can hear you for miles if you continue." Adella turned to Bellamy, a grin on her face as she noticed his annoyed look.

"You want to keep it down or should I paint a target on your backs?" Finn turned to face them all and Adella pointed to Bellamy who moved her hand away, biting back a smile at her childish antics.

Finn stopped and looked at the floor, Clarke close next to him which made Adella raise and eyebrow. "See? You're invisible." Bellamy told wells which made her frown.

Before she could ask, there was a yell which made them all look around. "What the hell was that?" Murphy asked.

"Now would be a good time to take out that gun." Clarke told Bellamy as they all walked forwards.

They all came out of the trees to see Jasper tied up to a tree. "Oh my god! Jasper." Clarke gasped as they walked forward, only for her to fall.

Bellamy quickly caught her, looking down at her. He hesitated for a minute which Finn and Adella noticed then yelled. "Pull her up!" Adella shivered at the spikes underneath Clarke and gripped onto her arm.

Adella grabbed Bellamy with her other hand as did everyone else and helped him pull up Clarke. Clarke fell in front of Adella, who still held her arm, looking at her with worried eyes. "You okay?" Adella asked as Clarke panted, nodding her head.

They all turned to the tree, Adella's heart dropping as she saw Jasper...bloodied and tied up to the tree.

"I'll climb up there and cut the vines." Finn told them all as Adella nodded.

"I'll help." She told him, pulling out her knife as Finn nodded, the pair walking towards the tree.

"Yeah, yeah, I'm with you." Wells spoke but Finn shut him down.

"No. Stay with Clarke. And watch him." Finn looked over at Bellamy. Finn then turned to Murphy. "You. Let's go."

Adella got up first, her pocket knife in her mouth, climbing up to the top where his wrists were tied together. She looked down to see them both at the bottom. She pulled the knife out of her mouth. "Come on, then." Adella told them and they both nodded, climbing up.

Adella started to cut the ties around his wrists whilst Finn got his waist and Murphy—his legs. They all looked up when they heard a growl. "What the hell was that?" Finn asked. "Grounders?"

"I don't think grounders growl, Finn. That's an animals growl." Adella told him as she continued to cut faster, carefully holding onto jaspers arm.

"Bellamy, gun!" Clarke yelled as the animal came closer, roaring as it hid in the bushes.

Adella wasn't paying attention as she continued to cut the ties. She heard one last bullet being fired and she looked to see the animal was dead.

"You sure you could kill a animal like that?" Adella looked down at Murphy, who now had a unsure look on his face.

"Shut up, Espinosa." Was all he said as he finished cutting the ropes, which made her laugh to herself.

"Yes, sir." She mimicked as she did finished cutting the ropes. "Now, let's get jasper down."

Raven knocked on the door. "Did someone call for a mechanic?" The door opened to reveal Abby. "You're the one who called in the work order?"

"We need to talk." Abby told her as Raven entered.

"Look, I told you I'm not gonna say anything, okay?" Raven told Abby, crossing her hands over her chest.

"I believe you, and you're not in trouble. Follow me." Abby walked as Raven followed her.

"Not in trouble yet, you mean." Raven sighs. "This level's off limits for people like me."

"Not anymore. You know that we sent the hundred down to the ground. What you don't know is why. The Ark is dying, Raven. Life support is on its last legs. I have ten days to prove that Earth is survivable or they're gonna start reducing population. Three hundred and twenty innocent people will be killed." Abby explained.

"I don't get it. Why are you telling me this?" Raven shakes her head.

"I looked up your file. You're the youngest zero-g mechanic on the Ark in fifty years, same with Adella Espinosa but she was part of the hundred." Abby told her as Raven nodded her head.

"Fifty-two, but, so what?" Raven asked.

"So..." Abby pulled off the sheet to reveal a small pod. "You have nine days to get this ready so I can survive a drop."

"God, what a piece of junk. They must have found this thing when they salvaged Mir-3 in twenty one oh two. You want me to get a hundred-and-thirty-year-old escape pod ready to stand up to the inferno of re-entry in nine days?" Raven asks as she walks around it.

"Can you do it or not?" Abby asks her.

"Hell, yes, I can do it, but I'm going with you. You're not the only one with people you love on the ground. Those are my terms. Take it or leave it." Raven tells her.

"All right. You can come with me." Abby nods her head.

"You got yourself a mechanic." Raven smiled as she walks away. She needed to see Finn and Adella.

People all stood up, waiting to be served food. They were making people take their wristbands off for food.

Adella shook her head at that. "I'm not taking off my wristband." She told Fox. "Not going to scare my dad like that."

"Then don't." Fox gave her a smile, twirling a twig in her hand.

"I'm going to go get one. Coming?" She asked Fox as she jumped up and Fox hummed as they walked over to the fire.

Fox showed Murphy her hand to show she didn't have one and she took a stick. Adella followed behind her and took a stick. Murphy grabbed her hand but not too hard.

"You still have your wristband on, 'dela." He told her as she smiled at him, pulling her hand back. She ignored the nickname.

"Bite me, John. Like you and Bellamy said, 'whatever the hell we want.'" She took a bite out of the meat, quickly grabbing another one when he turned around and walked away, returning back to Fox's side.

"He let you get away with it." Fox chuckled as adella smiled.

Adella shrugged. "They don't own any of us, besides, him and Bellamy didn't kill the animal, it was wells. They just took the credits." She grinned as she stared at the other stick of meat. "Wait here, I need to go give this to Monty." Fox smiled at the girl, nodding her head as Adella walked into the drop ship.

She quickly climbed the ladder as she knocked on the hatch, hearing Monty's voice as she climbed up, smiling softly at him. She sadly looked down at Jasper, who was sleeping. "You hungry? Santa came early." Adella tried to lighten the mood, holding out the stick of meat for Monty.

Monty turned to the girl with a smile, accepting the meat. "Thank you. I appreciate it. How did you even get two stick of meat when you still have your wristband on?" He pointed to her wrist as she grinned, sitting down beside him.

"I just walked up, ignored Murphy's irritating voice and grabbed two sticks. I would have got one for Jasper, but I don't think he's capable of eating right now." Adella sadly said as she stared to Jasper.

"He'd appreciate you thinking about him." Monty held a genuine smile, finding Adella admirable for how much she cared for a person she barely knew.

The corner of Adella's lips twitched up as she stared at Jasper, a sympathetic look on her face as she brushed the hair out of Jasper face. She liked Jasper and his personality, ever since Earth class. She didn't want anything to happen to the bundle of joy called Jasper Jordan.

Adella sat beside Clarke, looking down at Jasper. "His pulse is three eighty." Clarke spoke as she looked at her watch.

Jasper stated to moan in pain and the delinquents weren't having it. They shushed him as Adella turned around and shushed them back.

"Don't listen to them. You're gonna make it through this, okay? Promise." Clarke told him with a smile.

"Can he just die already?" Someone spoke which made Adella clench her jaw.

"vuelve a dormir y no te despiertes." She hissed at them, knowing they woudnt understand her. "Absolute prick."

"I'm gonna get clean water. Keep an eye on him." Clarke told Adella and Monty, squeezing Adella's shoulder and they both nodded as she walked out.

They sat in silence for a bit, Adella checking his temperature with the back of her hand and then until monty spoke. "Thank you, again." He said, which made her look up.

"For what?" She asked gently, leaning back to face Monty, her hand moving to hold Jasper's limp hand.

"You didn't really know Jasper, but you didn't hesitate to help and go search for him. I know that would mean a lot to him, as it does for me." Monty smiled to which Adella smiled back.

"Hey, don't sweat it. It's the least I can do. We are all down here together. We all have to look out for each other." Adella spoke as monty nodded. They continued to sit in a comfortable silence until Clarke came back up. "If you or Jasp needs anything, I'm here."

Adella stood, leaning against a tree. She wanted to practise her knife throwing and she came across Murphy trying to throw his knife and failing. They were both far away from camp. Adella held her pack, watching as Murphy failed tremendously.

He kept cursing every time he failed which humoured Adella. He went to pick up his knife again when Adella threw hers, hitting the tree with ease.

He spun around to be faced with a smiling Adella. "Who taught you how to throw knifes?" She chuckled as she grabbed her knife, pulling it out of the tree.

"No one." He shrugged his shoulders, turning the the tree and back to Adella.

"I can tell." She turned to him, smiling at his offended face. "Thought maybe Bellamy taught you, because y'know, you and his little gang are his bitches." She tilted her head.

He scoffed as he shook his head. "I'm not Bellamy's bitch."

"Whatever you say, John." She sighed as she stood on a log. "So, how about a knife throwing lesson, keep your mind off the screams." She pointed to the drop ship, talking about Jasper.

"I know how to throw a knife." Murphy told her and she jumped off the log.

"Sure." She nodded her head with a raised eyebrow. "Go for it then." She pointed at the tree.

He nodded his head as he threw his knife but it bounced off the tree and fell to the ground. Adella bit her tongue, scratching the bottom of her lip.

"Relax your shoulders." She told him, walking towards him. Murphy did as what she said, relaxing his shoulders. "Stand a little bit sideways and concentrate." She had grabbed his shoulders and turned him a little bit. "Don't flick your hand as you let go, let it slide out of your hand."

"And throw." She told him and he did, the knife hitting the tree. Adella smiled as Murphy had a pleased look on his face. "See, it's easy, just put your mind too it."

She started to walk away when she heard Murphy's voice. "Thanks." He called to her.

She turned around with a grin on her face. "John Murphy saying thanks? I'm shocked." She teased. "I have finally accomplished something in life."

"I take it back now." He chuckled as she rolled her eyes at him. She was about to continue to walk away when she felt something on her feet.

"What the..." She commented as she flicked the little bugs off of her feet. She then realised there were a ton of them, covering the forest floor. It looked like they were running from something. "Uhm, John."

The boy turned to her, confused until he noticed something behind her. It was yellow smoke, making their way towards them. By the looks of it, it looked deadly. He didn't waste a second as he ran towards Adella and grabbed her arm. Then she realised what was behind them, making her widen her eyes. "Run!" She yelled as the two charged forward.

"We are too far away from camp, we will never make it in time." Murphy told her, to which she cursed to herself.

The two didn't stop running, god knows where they we're going, but luckily for them, Murphy noticed something Beneath him. "Wait!" He called to Adella as she turned around.

"We have no time to wait!! There is deadly fog literally behind us!" She quickly spoke, not realising what he was doing until he pulled on something, revealing a ladder.

Murphy looked up at her as she quickly jogged towards him, climbing down first. It was pitch black when Murphy closed the trap door, hissing as his arm stung.

Adella could only see a bit as her eyes landed on a flashlight placed down on a table. She breathed out as she grabbed it, praying it has some charge left.

A sigh of relief left her lips as it turned on. She grinned as she spun around, shining the bright light in Murphys face, making him cover his eyes, pushing away her arm. "Do you mind? Are you trying to make me blind?" He asked as she sheepishly looked away.

"Sorry." She murmured before turning around, looking for a brighter light. "Great. Now I'm locked down here with you until that weird fog shit passes."

"Well, you're not the only one who would rather be somewhere else rather than here." He took offence to her comment.

"Hm." She hummed as she ignored him, looking for something useful. She turned to see a lamp on the same desk. She turned it on, which illuminated the place they were stuck in. It wasn't small but not big. It had a bed, desk and some draws.

She turned off the flashlight and placed it beside the lamp, looking around. When she found nothing, she breathed out, sitting down on the bed. She didn't pay any attention to Murphy as he also looked around.

Murphy held his arm, hiding the pain his arm was causing him. But Adella sat up as she looked over at him. "You okay?" She tilted her head, pointing to his arm.

"Yeah, that fog hit my arm—I'll live." Murphy shrugged her off as Adella rolled her eyes, leaning back against the wall, grabbing her pack and pulling out a canteen of water.

"Sit."

Murphy turned to her with a frown, watching as she made room for him. Adella opened her canteen, ripping the bottom of her shirt and looking up at him. "Am I speaking another language, or?" Adella tilted her head as Murphy breathed out, moving to sit beside her.

Adella turned to his side, lifting up his sleeves, making him let out a hiss. Adella ignored it, pouring some water onto her ripped shirt before placing it on his burns, giving no warning.

Murphy let out a hiss of pain, squeezing his eyes shut as Adella pursed her lips. "Sorry." She uttered, carefully disinfecting the burn (like Clarke had taught her) before tying the fabric around his arm. "There, you're welcome."

"Thanks." Murphy cleared his throat, watching as Adella cleaned her hands, closing her canteen and placing it on the table beside her.

Murphy decided to get up and look around as Adella looked through her pack. "Hey look what I found." She turned her head, seeing him holding a bottle of something. "And it's full." It was a bottle of wine.

"I'm gonna need more than one bottle of that to keep myself from stabbing you down here." She sarcastically commented as she jumped up, grabbing the bottle out of his hands. "Red wine." She hummed. "You ever had alcohol?"

Murphy stiffed at the mention, shaking his head. "Well, I've only ever tried it once. Me and Finn sneaked some of my dads once. The night ended up with me running around the ark and my father chasing me." She commented, grin of her face as she opening up the bottle and taking a large sip of it, making a face after she swallowed it. "Here, try." She held out her arm, bottle in her hands. "You're not gonna die from a sip of alcohol, John. If you did, I think it would be funny as fuck."

He looked unsure as he took it out of her hand. He started at it before taking a sip, coughing after he swallowed which made her slightly laugh, taking the bottle back. "Not bad right?" Adella chuckled, taking another sip of the alcohol.

Murphy grimaced. "I don't know how anyone could like that." He shook his head as adella grinned.

Adella didn't reply as she sat back down on the bed. "Think anything here will be useful to bring back?" She asked as she looked around.

"Nope." He sighed as he sat beside her.

There was a awkward silence that filled the air, Adella sipping the wine, until Murphy spoke up. "So what's your story? How'd you get locked up? Theft? Arson?" He started listing the crimes.

She shook her head. "Space walking." She said as she took a sip of the wine.

His eyes slightly widened, sitting up slightly. "Space walking? Is that what Finn got arrested for too?"

"Yes, but Finn didn't actually space walk. It was me and his girlfriend. We did it for her birthday. She was 18 and me and Finn were still 17 so she would have got floated straight away. So Finn covered for her but I didn't have enough time to take of the suit. Costed two months of oxygen but it was worth it." She explained, holding out the bottle for Murphy. He took it out of her hands as she continued. "What about you?"

"I set fire to the living quarters of the officer who arrested my father." He said before talking a sip of the wine. "I was only a kid when he got floated."

"Oh wow, didn't expect that." She blurted as turned to face him slightly. "What he'd get arrested for?" Her face slightly softened as she spoke-as did her voice.

"For stealing medicine." Murphy paused for a second. "For me. I was sick and I needed the medicine so he went out and stole it for me but got caught."

Adella didn't know what to say, she wasn't one for comforting people, hell, she couldn't comfort herself. But Adella, growing up, she and her family had access to anything, due to the fact her father was an important person on the ark, so they never worried about not having no medicine or anything, which made her feel guilty.

She fiddled with her hands as Murphy cleared his throat after taking a swig of the wine. He glanced at the girl for a moment, after she had not replied nor spoken. He noticed how awkward she looked and took this chance to lighten up the mood. His eyes landed on her hat. "So what's the deal with this hat? You've had it on twenty-four-seven." He flicked the cap, making her push his hand away. "Pretty sure you fall asleep with it on."

"It was my mother's." Adella revealed, pursing her lips as she turned to him. "My father gave it to me when i was five and I've kept it ever since. It's the only thing I have left of her." She spoke quietly. Murphy cursed to himself-obviously making the moment more sad.

"What happened to her?" He asked carefully. He knew that the girl could snap any moment. She had a small fuse around people she didn't like. She was like a bomb, in his opinion, experiencing it second hand when he kicked her chair.

But she did the opposite. She pulled her legs closer to her as she rested her chin on her knees, wrapping her arms around her legs. "My mother died in childbirth. She knew that there was a chance she wouldn't survive and she took that risk. So it was just me and my dad." She explained, her eyes remaining on the floor. She normally wouldn't open up to a person she just met, so it was probably the drink talking. But Murphy was just like that too-closed off, not one to show emotion.

The two were the same in some way, which they didn't realise. Both fiery people who could snap at any moment. They both would protect the people they loved, even if that meant risking themselves in the process.

But they didn't speak again, just sitting in comfortable silence, sharing the wine and muttering some random comments that they couldn't translate. But they had spoke for a small moment, talking about what they liked on the ark, Adella expressing her love for reading and writing and the colour blue. But also her love for the rain. She had only ever experienced it once, but it fascinated her, as did the ocean, so she prayed she'd experience going in the ocean.

Adella had fallen asleep after a while, her head resting uncomfortably against the wall. Murphy thought for a second before adjusting her carefully, laying her head on the pillow.

He didn't care for her, of course, he was just trying to be nice. Because he didn't want her to wake up with neck ache plus a hangover. Or maybe he was just lying to himself. He couldn't see himself Caring for anyone, especially not Adella espinosa.

But he found himself admiring how peaceful she looked when she was asleep. No crease in her brows as she normally had. No fire in her eyes. She looked peaceful, probably having a dream as her eyes moved under her eyelids.

He couldn't help but admire her.

Little cute moment, I think so.

I'm actually so glad I decided to re write this book so I can have more moments between other characters and zoom adellas character more and some of her traits!!

She maybe a little ball of fire but she's a lil softie on the inside.

WOOP

I was gonna make them hook up in this chapter, but NAH. Too early I'd say
