Adella didn't leave Raven's side at all since she was shot my Murphy. And Adella started feeling idiotic. How could she trust Murphy? Why did she? After what had happened with Charlotte? But deep down, she was hoping he was okay. She knew she shouldn't, not when she was staring down at her injured best friend. But she did.
Fox and Octavia had packed Adella's bag for her, to which she thanked her for. The kids all got ready to leave the camp, not ready to fight the grounders and all 82 of them walked though the woods.
Adella held her gun as she walked side by side with Raven, who was laid in a stretcher. Octavia, Fox, Finn and Jasper all around them as they walked.
But All of a sudden, they stopped...
"Why are we stopping?" Raven asked in a croaky voice, trying to lift up her head to see, but Adella held her arm, giving it a small squeeze.
All of a sudden, someone fell to the ground and Jasper yelled. "Grounders!" His yell echoed through the woods as the kids started to panic.
All of them ran back to camp, frightened, scared and anxious. Bellamy was in the lead as he pushed every kid back in the camp. Adella carried Raven with Finn, bringing her into the drop ship and Adella squeezed her hand. "You'll be okay." Adella nodded her head and Raven nodded hers. Adella put her hat down on the side and ran a hand through her wavy and greasy hair.
Adella knew she'd have to fight if she'd want to survive. She had to fight to save her people, her friends—her family.
"You stay here with her, do not leave her side." Adella turned to one of the kids and he nodded his head. Adella then walked out of the drop ship to see everyone running around.
"Come on." Octavia grabbed her hand, taking Adella by surprise and pulling her along as the kids continue to run around.
"What?" Adella frowned, stopping in her tracks as Octavia spun around to face her. Octavia let out a sigh as she turned to one of the boys, grabbing the gun from his hands.
"We are fighting." Octavia simply said as she pushed the gun in Adella's hands. "You are a gunner." Octavia gave her the gun and Adella nodded. Bellamy had taught Adella how to use a gun. She hated it, she didn't like how heavy it felt in her hands, but she knew how to use it. So, she started following Octavia though the crawl hole.
Gripping the gun in her hand, Adella stared silently at the branches—Octavia looking around impatiently, wanting to get in on the action.
Octavia tried to leave but Adella grabbed her. "Where are you going?" Adella whispered, her eyes wide as she kept her grip on her hand.
"To fight." Octavia told her, holding her sword as she pointed to the outside of the trees. Adella hesitated as Octavia sighed. "Adell-"
"Not on your own." Adella told her, getting up with Octavia and running out of the camp.
Adella and Octavia hid in some bushes when they saw the grounders start coming into the camp.
Adella and octavia stood up and saw that Bellamy was being attacked. Adella's hands shook as she watched Octavia run towards the grounder and stabbed him in the head.
Octavia stood over her brother, looking down at him with a small smirk, holding onto her sword with pride.
"Admit it. You want one." Octavia showed Bellamy the sword as she breathed out heavily.
Adella turned to the grounder to see a bow, a quiver and a stash off arrows on the floor. She grinned like a child as she gave Miller her gun.
She picked up the bow and arrows, putting the arrows in the quiver and throwing it on her back. All of a sudden, Octavia was shot in the leg, making Adella gasp and crouched to Octavia's side.
Adella and Bellamy caught her, both holding a worried expression on their faces. "Can you walk?" Bellamy asked, keeping a tight grip on his sister's arm.
"Yeah." Octavia winced as Adella threw Octavia's arm around her.
"I've got you, Blake." Adella breathed out, shining a small smile to Octavia as Bellamy wrapped his arm around Octavia's waist.
Adella and Bellamy stayed with Octavia, keeping her close to them. But, Bellamy left and Adella made sure Octavia was okay.
Adella then looked up to see something fly down out of the sky. She frowned. "Is that the ark?" She uttered, looking over to Octavia
"I think." Octavia replied, their eyes staying on the small ship that was making its way down.
The two turned when they heard twigs snap behind them. Adella took out a arrow and aimed it at the bush. She had seen the grounders do it, so she thought it couldn't be that hard. Gripping onto the string, she breathed out, her hands steady.
Suddenly, a grounder jumped out of the bushes, a sword in his hands and Adella let go of the string, sending the arrow flying into the grounders head.
Octavia put her sword down and patted Adella on the back. "Well done, Espinosa." Octavia held a proud smile on her face as Adella grinned, looking down at the dead grounder.
Before Adella could say anything, there was yelling...a weird kind of chant yelling. The two girls frowned as they saw a big group of people. They didn't look like grounders.
"Reapers!" They heard one of the grounders shout in fear as they started to scatter. Adella frowned as she tightened her grip on her bow.
"Reapers?" Adella whispered to Octavia. "What the hell is a reaper?" She counted as Octavia shrugged her shoulders.
Bellamy ran towards them, checking on Octavia, due to the fact she was sat down behind the tree because of her leg. Bellamy then turned to Adella, seeing if she was okay. And she was.
"Let's move." Bellamy told them. "You need to get back to camp." Bellamy added, turning to Adella, who raised a brow.
"My ass I do Bell!" She let out a scoff as she kept a grip tight grip on Octavia's arm. "We are out numbered. I'm not leaving you and Octavia." Adella shook her head, persistent.
"We'll never make it. Leave me. I'll find another way." Octavia told the two, shaking her head. She didn't want the two risking their lives for her.
"Octavia." Adella physically jumped, squeezing her eyes shut as someone sat down beside her. She turned to see Lincoln, sigh of relief leaving her lips.
"Great to see you again, but next time, please don't give me a heart attack." Adella held a hand over her heart, grinning at Lincoln as he gave her an apologetic look.
"Lincoln?" Octavia sighed as she pulled him into a hug. "You did this?" She asked, talking about the reapers.
"With Finn." Lincoln nodded his head, looking down at the arrow in her leg. Adella grinned at the mention of Finn. "It's deep. I can help you, but you have to come with me now."
Octavia shook her head but Bellamy sighed. "Go. Let him help you." Bellamy said as Octavia quickly turned to him.
"No way. I have to see this through." Octavia shook her head, declaring she would stay for this fight.
"You can't walk and we can't get you back to the dropship." Bellamy told her, pointing to her leg as she let out a defeated sigh.
"He's right." Lincoln agreed with Bellamy as Octavia frowned. "This fight is over for you." Lincon agreed and so did Adella.
"O, O, listen to me. I told you my life ended the day you were born. The truth is... it didn't start until then. Go with him. I need you to live. Besides... I got this." Bellamy said and Octavia pulled him into a hug.
"May we meet again." Bellamy whispered.
"May we meet again." Octavia whispered back. Adella watched with a small smile, sharing a look with Lincoln before turning to Octavia.
Adella pulled her into a hug before Lincoln picked her up. "I'll fight for you, okay." Adella smiled at the girl in Lincoln's arms. Octavia nodded and Lincoln carried her away.
"Come on we need to get back." Bellamy grabbed Adella's arm as Octavia and Lincoln left, leading her through the forest. Bellamy kept his grip on Adella's arm as they jogged through the dark forest.
Before the two could reach the drop ship, Adella was tackled by a grounder, a yelp leaving her lips as the grounder held onto her, making them roll down the hill, the grounder falling beside her with a grunt.
"Adella!" She heard Bellamy yell. Adella winced as she felt a sharp pain run through her back, squeezing her eyes shut as Bellamy continued to call out her name.
"Go! I got this!" She yelled up to him as she sat up, her chest and back stinging. She hissed, blinking away the tears forming in her eyes due to the pain.
"I can't leave you!" Bellamy yelled down to her, his voice strained. Adella couldn't see him, it was dark. Adella grunted, trying to reach for her weapon, but her hand grabbed nothing but dirt. "I can't leave you too! Not now!"
The grounder started to get back up and Adella hissed, the pain increasing in both her back and chest, where she was shot. "Bellamy, go!" She insisted, wiping at her eyes. "Make sure everyone is okay! I'm fine!" Adella said as she grabbed the knife in her boot, seen as though her bow was far away.
The grounder went to tackle her again, but she dodged it, sending her knee into his stomach, making him lean forward. Adella was in agony, but the adrenaline was pursing through her veins. She couldn't die.
She took this as a opportunity to kick his legs, making him fall to the ground. Adella quickly crouched down and slit his throat with the knife, leaving the grounder to choke on his blood.
Adella bent over on, gasping for breath. She looked down at the dead grounder before looking up the hill she fell down. "Oh god, oh god." She shook her head, her hands on her knees as she was still bent down. "I think I'm gonna be sick." She grimaced as she stared at the dead guy. She looked down at her shaking hand and breathed out, squeezing her hands into a fist. She didn't die.
She went to go grab her bow but was stopped when she heard and saw an explosion. Adella smiled, knowing that her people was safe, that the plan must of worked.
She bent down to pick up her bow but stopped up immediately, the pain in her chest increasing. "Fuck!" She gritted through her teeth as she felt a pain in her chest and back. The chest she was shot in. She eventually grabbed her bow and hid behind a bush, for the time being. She took off her jacket to reveal her wound bleeding. "Great." She muttered as looked down at her shoulder. "Fucking great." She had broke her snitches
She went to take her hat off, but she felt nothing there. It must if fallen off when she was running with Bellamy, or that's what she thought. It was too late to go back yet, due to how dark it was and the remaining grounders and reapers. She had to take cover until the morning. But she had to find a cave, she couldn't stay behind a bush all night.
So she stood up, slowly putting the quiver around her, making sure not to hit her chest-what now was an open wound.
Adella had found a cave and slept in it. She found it uncomfortable but it was better than sleeping in the middle of a battle field. She took of her jacket to look at her chest, grimacing as she saw the state of the bloodstained shirt.
She had off a bit of her top and put it around the wound to stop the bleeding. She untied the knot and looked at it, to see it had stopped bleeding but it needed more taken care of, she needed to get back to camp.
She grabbed all her stuff and checked out side, to see if she could see anything, but she couldn't. So she stepped out of the cave and began walking back to camp.
She hadn't been walking a while when she felt someone run into her. Adella was quick to turn around, her knife in her hands, to see a kid pull herself up from the floor.
Adella put her knife away, her eyes wide as she held out her hands for the young girl. "Hey, are you okay?" Adella asked the girl. The girl looked frightened but also angry. "I mean you no harm." Adella raised her hands up. She was just a kid.
"Sky people must be killed." Was all the girl said before throwing herself at Adella, a knife in her hand.
