4. Unspoken Horizons

Yoongi's POV:

Yoongi leaned back in his chair, his phone propped up in front of him as he connected with his members for their regular video chat. The familiar faces of Namjoon, Jin, Jimin, V, Hobi, and Jungkook and he couldn't help but smile at their teasing grins and playful banter.

"Hyung, so tell us," Jimin said with a mischievous glint in his eye. "How's London? Any new 'Yoongi marry me' fans you've encountered?"

Yoongi rolled his eyes, chuckling. "Not that I've seen. I've been pretty good at hiding my identity here. I'm practically invisible."

"Sure, you are," Jin teased. "Fans were going wild on Vlive. They kept asking about you, saying things like, 'Where is Yoongi?' and 'Yoongi marry me!' Like, what do they expect me to do? Call you and ask if you're alive?"

Yoongi laughed, shaking his head. "They're relentless. I've been trying to stay low-key, but of course, fans have a way of tracking you down."

Namjoon leaned in, a knowing smile on his face. "I saw some of those Vlive comments. It's almost like they're determined to marry all of us."

Yoongi smirked. "Yeah, it's flattering, but also a bit overwhelming."

"Speaking of overwhelming," Jimin piped up, "are there any new mysterious ladies in your life? You know, anyone who might make us want to launch a full-scale investigation?"

Yoongi's smile faltered slightly. "Actually, I did meet someone. Just a friend, though. She's been... nice."

"Nice? That's it?" Namjoon's eyebrow quirked. "Is there something more you're not telling us?"

Yoongi hesitated, realizing he had inadvertently mentioned Ananya. "Well, I didn't want to make it a big deal. She's just someone I met here. I didn't think it was important."

The members exchanged glances, the teasing atmosphere shifting to one of concern. "Yoongi-aa," Jin said cautiously, "you know how these things can go. We've had our share of media craziness before. You sure she's not going to spill your secrets?"

Yoongi shook his head, trying to reassure them. "No, she's not like that. She's private, and... well, it's not like that. We're just friends."

Namjoon, who had been quietly observing, noticed a subtle change in Yoongi's demeanour. His usually composed expression was softer, more reflective. "Yoongi, if you're feeling something more, you don't have to talk about it now. But just be careful. You know how things can get."

Yoongi nodded, feeling a mix of relief and confusion. "Yeah, thanks. I just—well, I didn't mean to bring it up."

As the video call wrapped up, Yoongi found himself lost in thought. Tomorrow was his departure day, and he still hadn't told Ananya. They had spent the last few days together, and though their connection was growing, they hadn't even exchanged phone numbers. He realized how little time he had left and how important it was to find a way to say goodbye.

Ananya's POV:

Ananya woke up to a grey London morning, feeling the familiar twinge of anticipation. She had enjoyed her time with Yoongi, their playful exchanges, and the moments they shared. But the last few days had been busy, and they hadn't had a chance to meet up since their dinner.

As she made her way through her morning routine, she couldn't shake the feeling that something was missing. She glanced at her phone, wondering if Yoongi would reach out. They hadn't exchanged numbers, and she had been too wrapped up in her busy schedule to initiate anything.

She didn't know when he was going back or has he already left. She hoped to see him before he left. The thought of not having a proper goodbye troubled her. She enjoyed their time together and had grown fond of him, more than she was willing to admit.

Yoongi's POV:

Yoongi paced his apartment nervously, the clock ticking louder than usual as the departure time loomed. He had spent the day in anxious contemplation, struggling with the best way to say goodbye to Ananya. With only a day left before his flight, he decided that he wanted to see her one last time, to share his final moments in London with her.

Gathering his courage, Yoongi left his apartment and walked to Ananya's, while holding his breath in anticipation of this final meeting.

He reached Ananya's door and took a deep breath before knocking. He waited, feeling a mix of nervousness and resolve. The door opened, and there she was, looking both surprised and pleased to see him.

"Yoongi," she greeted, her eyes widening in pleasant surprise. "What are you doing here?"

Yoongi offered a small, uncertain smile as he stepped inside. "I needed to see you. It had been long."

Ananya's expression softened as she closed the door behind him. "Oh. I'm glad you came. Come in."

They moved to the living room, where the familiar, cozy space seemed to hold a different kind of significance tonight. Yoongi could see the subtle tension in Ananya's shoulders as she sat down on the couch, patting the seat next to her.

"Sit," she said gently. "What's going on?"

Yoongi sat down beside her, feeling the weight of his words pressing heavily on his chest. "I'm leaving tomorrow. My flight back to Korea is in the afternoon. I wanted to let you know in person."

Ananya's smile faltered, and her eyes grew misty. "You're leaving already? I didn't realize it was so soon."

Yoongi nodded, feeling a pang of regret. "Yeah, time flew by. I didn't want to make a big deal of it, but... I just felt like I had to say goodbye properly."

Ananya took a deep breath, her emotions visible as she struggled to keep her composure. "I'm really going to miss you, you know. I never expected to feel this way. We didn't have much time together, but it's been... special."

Yoongi reached out, taking her hand in his, his thumb gently brushing over her knuckles. "I feel the same way. These past few weeks have been unexpected, but they've meant a lot to me. You've been... a comfort in a way I didn't anticipate. But I want you to know that meeting you has been one of the best parts of this trip."

Ananya's heart fluttered at his words. She looked down at their intertwined hands, their warmth comforting amidst the sadness. "You've been so kind and genuine, something I never expected from someone in your position. It's made these few weeks truly special."

Yoongi leaned in slightly, his voice low and sincere. "I've appreciated every moment with you. You've made this trip feel more like home than any other place."

Ananya's eyes met his, filled with a mix of sadness and affection. "I'm going to miss our talks, our walks, and even our cooking sessions. They've meant a lot to me."

Yoongi gently lifted her chin with his free hand, his gaze tender and full of unspoken feelings. "And I'm going to miss all of that too. But maybe... maybe we'll find a way to stay in touch, even if it's just through messages or emails."

A small, hopeful smile curved Ananya's lips. "I'd like that. I really would. Maybe I can join one of your Vlives one day and annoy you with more 'Yoongi marry me' comments."

She didn't realize the full weight of her words until she saw the faint sparkle in Yoongi's eyes—something she couldn't quite decipher.

Yoongi's fingers brushed a stray hair from her face, his touch lingering for a moment longer than necessary. "So would I. But for now, let's savour the time we have left."

Tears threatened to spill from Ananya's eyes, but she blinked them away, forcing a brave smile. "I'm glad. I'm glad we met. I never thought I'd get to know someone like you, let alone have these moments with you."

Yoongi's gaze was tender as he looked at her. "Me neither. It's been... refreshing to have someone who treats me like a normal person, rather than just a celebrity. I appreciate that more than you know."

There was a long, heartfelt silence as they both took in the gravity of the moment. Yoongi squeezed her hand gently, the connection between them both grounding and bittersweet.

Ananya's voice trembled slightly as she spoke. "So, what happens now? Is this goodbye for good?"

Yoongi's heart ached at the thought, and he struggled to find the right words. "I don't know. Maybe. But... even if it is, I want you to know that I've valued every moment we've spent together. And I hope that whatever happens, you'll remember this time fondly."

Ananya nodded, her eyes filled with a mix of sadness and understanding. "I will. I really will. Thank you for everything, Yoongi."

Yoongi pulled her into a gentle hug, holding her close for a moment longer than necessary. The embrace was filled with a deep sense of gratitude and affection, a silent acknowledgement of the bond they had formed.

As they finally pulled away, Yoongi looked into her eyes, his own filled with a blend of hope and melancholy. "Take care of yourself, Ananya. I hope our paths cross again someday."

Ananya's smile was tinged with both sorrow and hope. "You too, Yoongi. Safe travels. And... thank you for the memories."

They shared one last, lingering look, the unspoken feelings between them clear as day. With a final, tender squeeze of her hand, Yoongi stood up, knowing that this was a moment neither of them would forget.

He walked to the door, pausing to glance back at her with a heartfelt look. Ananya watched him go, her heart heavy with the weight of their parting, yet warmed by the special connection they had shared. As the door closed behind him, she felt a deep sense of gratitude for the time they had spent together and a lingering hope for what the future might hold.

This was the most difficult one to write.

I didn't want this to give a sad ending but rather wanted to leave it open for your imagination. Bring your amygdala to work.

Maybe if I get a good response on this, I could probably write a book#2 😉
