jaemin flew across the sky, admiring his world, above the clouds.
how much he will miss it.
under the clouds, everything was duller, darker and more horrible. people were humans, they didn't have wings. and they didn't even know some supernatural beings existed.
above the clouds was quite the contrary. a bright world, full of fluffy and white clouds, and with tons of beautiful angels.
jaemin loved his world more than anything.
he would never abandon it. he could never.
"minnie!!" someone called the blue haired.
jaemin turned around, only to be tackled by his best friend who had flown right into him.
"ouch! sungchan!" jaemin whined when he felt like his bones would break at the shock.
"sorry." the boy smiled sheepishly. "but i learned you were going on your first mission!"
jaemin rolled his eyes, remembering he was about to leave his 'oh-so-perfect' world to help some stupid humans fall in love.
"you'll see! it will be so cool!" sungchan flew around jaemin excitedly.
"yeah, yeah..." jaemin crossed his arms.
"i remember my first mission. it feels like it was yesterday! i had to help that old lady finish everything she had to do before passing away. i cried so much when she died. i mean- "
"she didn't even know you existed but you had grown attached to her." jaemin cut his best friend. "i already know. it's approximatively the hundredth time you tell me this story."
"i'm sorry, it's just that it is the most touching memory..." sungchan said, his hands clasped against his chest.
jaemin rolled his eyes once again.
"when are you leaving?" sungchan asked. "i'm going to miss you so much..."
"tomorrow morning." jaemin replied nonchalantly. "they are setting everything for my arrival for the moment."
"oh my god! you might be stressing so much right now!" sungchan gasped.
"nah. i'm just angry."
sungchan laughed and hit jaemin's shoulder playfully.
"stop being so dull. i want you to be the happy bean that you always are! your smile can light up the world!" sungchan cheered.
"i will be happy when they'll have told me that my mission is cancelled." jaemin pouted.
"is this mission really that horrible?" sungchan raised a brow, not understanding his friend's disinterest in going on missions.
sungchan had always been fascinated about the world that had developed under the clouds.
on his first mission, he had fell in love with the human world, and since then, he always got to visit it in order to know the latest news. well, he was the contrary of jaemin.
"i have to act like a cupid and make two boys fall in love." jaemin said, uninterested.
"OH MY GOD! these are the best missions!!!" sungchan squeaked, making jaemin flinch. "it's just so cute, seeing them getting closer to the point they become a couple!! my heart is melting!"
jaemin rolled his eyes for the nth time.
"how can you be this much enthusiast at the idea of helping dudes who aren't able to do things on their own?"
"because that's how it goes, jaemin. humans need our help to do good things. the human mind is perverted and not a hundred percent efficient. with the help of angels, humans find the right path."

there was something that jeno hated in his life, and that was the fact he had been living in the same city for as long as he can remember.
he was born there, he had grown up there, and he would probably die there.
he hated how much his life was determined.
he hated that every day, the sun would rise, making the day start, and then it would leave, letting the moon take its place.
he hated every bus ride he did to get to school or to go back home.
he hated having to wake up, eat, go to school, eat again, get home, do his homework, eat and sleep every day.
he hated his robotic life in which every day was the same, and everything he did had no sense.
what jeno wanted was a free life, without school, and where he would be able to do whatever he wanted whenever he wanted.
he wanted to be able to go to sleep at noon and wake up at four in the morning to have breakfast. he didn't even want to have breakfast anymore actually. why would his day be paced by meals? what if it was sleep instead?
anyway, jeno wasn't happy with his boring human life, but he couldn't really do anything about it.
"move your ass, dipshit. you're sitting at my place." a voice interrupted his daydream.
this was the only thing that convinced him he wasn't living a robotic life. huang renjun.
if there was something jeno hated more than his life, it had to be him.
this small chinese that had barged into jeno's daily grind when he was in his last year of middle school. jeno couldn't bear him.
but ironically, this boy made every day different from the other because of their bickering.
"can't you see i'm sitting here already?" jeno asked. "just find yourself another seat, asshole."
"no. this is my fucking seat and i won't move until you get the fuck out."
this was something that amazed jeno. huang renjun's fluent korean, and more particularly, his very vast swearing dictionary.
renjun had arrived from china without knowing a single word of korean, and after a few years, he had reached a very good level, accent and pronunciation included.
"i don't see your name anywhere." jeno raised a brow.
"i don't see yours either. so i don't see why you would have to stay here." renjun spoke back.
"i won't move. i am already sitting. go find another seat before they are all taken."
renjun pulled the backrest of jeno's chair violently, the legs of the chair making an unbearable squeak that made the whole class cover their ears.
"move. out. bitch." renjun articulated.
"you're quite strong for some little chinese who has spaghetti arms." jeno noted.
renjun became red in anger, and he didn't waste a second to grip jeno's collar and try to pull him out of his chair.
"oh no! don't tell me you two are starting a fight again?!" the teacher entered the classroom, already yelling.
jeno and renjun stopped moving to look at their fuming teacher.
"sort things out quickly before i send both of you to detention again." she warned.
and that's how renjun and jeno ended up sharing the same chair and the same desk for the two-hours class that followed.
