When the Whole World Stood Still
The two demons slashed at each other in speeds faster than sounds, their blades creating sparks brighter than the stars of the night sky. Even ranged attacks did little but annoy the other. If Martin let loose a black hole orb then Bill would just slash his sword in the air and shatter it. Likewise, if Bill shot his flames towards his son, Martin would just use his large wings and shield against them. No one could realistically tell how long this has been going on for due to the odd happenings with their watches, phones, and internal memory chips.
"I think I have motion sickness just watching them go at it!" Mark-Anthony said and, to prove his point, he excused himself to go vomit. It would've gotten some disgusted looks if almost everyone else hadn't gotten the same feeling and promptly excused themselves also. The only ones not completely nauseous were Dipper, Giffany, and Pacifica though they were sporting major headaches.
"How do they even keep themselves from getting sick is my question, it's just not natural." Dipper said aloud, making Pacifica eye him angrily. "They technically are my family you know, are you calling me unnatural Dipper Pines?" Pacifica asked with her hands on her hips.
"No I didn't mean that it's...uh...err...they...you...aren't like them because..." Dipper kept trying to get the words out. The battle stopped abruptly, "Oh for the love of...HEY, he means that you're more human then either of us so that's why you're more closely resembling something he can understand!" Bill yelled at them. "Which isn't exactly false considering your mother was human but we'll talk about that later." Martin finished and with that the two began fighting again. "Yeah, what they said." Dipper said in a loss of words. Pacifica smirked, "You're something else Pines." She said and pecked a kiss on his cheek.
"I hope I'm not this bad with the love talk." Giffany said with her tongue hanging out in disgust. She had been trying to act like she had been here the entire time but honestly she hadn't even been paying attention. Her mind had been rather preoccupied going through old documents that she found particularly interesting that were recorded over the internet.
They were death records, particularly they were death records for plane crashes.
A who and a how we're not exactly the easiest things to use to search for a specific person, and Misuka want exactly an uncommon name for Japanese girls. Dozens of plane crashes and hundreds counted dead because of them each year made for countless fatality reports. "Please, I know I'm in here somewhere!" Giffany thought in a sense of frustration.
"Aaand spin kick!" Martin yelled in his head as his foot barreled into the demonically flawless face of his father, sending him smashing into the ceiling. "WHY YOU LITTLE-" but Bill couldn't finish as his mind was still rattling around in his newly formed skull, making the act of thinking a challenge. So he did the next best thing... and didn't think at all.
He charged his son with his sword posed for a finishing blow, his blade blazing with the heat of a star. "I'm not letting him get his way again, this is not turning into another Detroit incident!" Bill voiced in his head angrily.
"Oh God, this is going to turn into another Detroit incident isn't it?" Martin thought miserably, remembering the scars on his back. It wasn't so much they were bad memories more so that Martin may have had too much fun with the people(especially the women) and caused them to become the violent lot that they are now. Bill tried to stop him but then one thing led to another and now the automotive industry is almost completely gone.
Martin was lost in thought and that almost made him lose his head. He had just enough sense to raise his sword and block Bill's attack. That didn't stop him as Bill then stretched his leg and Lionel Messi'd his son's face into the wall.
"Oh no, dad!" Pacifica yelled and tried to run to her father's side but Dipper managed to hold her back. "You can't go out there, you'll be killed!" Dipper pleaded with the struggling blonde half-demon girl in his arms. "I'm his daughter...I have to help him!" Pacifica said in a rage, not directed mostly at Dipper but at her maniacal grandfather.
"If you went in there do you really think you'd be any help? You'd just be something else Martin would have to protect!" Dipper started yelling at Pacifica, trying to make her see reason. "Listen Pines-" "NO, YOU LISTEN UP NORTHWEST!" Dipper yelled as he spun her around to face him. Her eyes showed a burning type of anger as her purple irises took on a more reddish tint, but Dipper's eyes held the same kind of anger.
"Do you really think that you'll be any help, a half-demon with no weapon trying to stop Bill Cipher?!" Dipper asked, his voice laced with interrogative anger. "Well I was doing pretty well against him before!" Pacifica said, she still struggled but Dipper still kept her in check. "I think we both can safely assume that he was just toying with you. Pacifica please listen to reason!" Dipper was now begging his otherworldly-ish girlfriend, albeit still with a hint of irritation in his voice. Pacifica tried to say something but found she couldn't get the words out.
Her mind then wandered over to something else, or rather someone else. "Candy..." Pacifica thought sadly, "I'm sorry I couldn't save you...I just stood there and watched you die to try and save us and I can't forgive myself for that."
"Pacifica, please calm down!"
"I killed you, I just wasn't strong enough..."
"Please, don't do anything you'll regret."
"Luke, he deserves to be alive but not at the cost of you. But I'll make sure you don't die quietly!"
"Pacifica, please-"
"Sorry Dipper." Pacifica finally said as she reared her head back and smashed it into his face, sending him sprawling back in pain. In the confusion she grabbed his knife and ran towards the battle in near mach 1 speeds. Bill had just landed and was walking over to his son, determined to end this here. When a sudden booming sound erupted out of nowhere only then did he stop to look over too late to see his enraged granddaughter barreling towards him. Bill barely had enough time to raise his sword when she got close enough.
Things...usually don't go as planned for the Cipher line. Whether it's your son turning into a demonic hippie, your wife disappearing for a century or two to try and "discover herself", or when said hippie son constantly ruins your plans to assimilate the mortal world because he finds the humans "interesting" or "easy on the eyes". So when the granddaughter of the dream demon came barreling towards Bill, he barely had enough time to raise his blade...
...for Pacifica to impale herself on it, the tip piercing through her chest.
"TAURIEL!" Martin cried once he had pulled himself from the rubble. "Shame, I would have hoped someone from my line would've been smar-" but Bill was cut off by a solid punch to his face, making him lose his grip on the sword and sending him flying across the room. "CIPHER!" Martin roared and chased after the other demon. "Pacifica!" Dipper yelled and ran to the fallen girl. "Oh no, oh God no!" Dipper was in shock once he saw the amount of blood was lost. Pacifica blinked slowly but did not speak, only stared off into the darkness. Dipper looked at the blade still embedded in her chest and knew at once what he needed to do. In one swift motion Dipper took the sword and slid it out of Pacifica's chest who, much to Dipper's concern, didn't cry out in pain. He then took out the rest of the gauze wrap and began ripping strips from both his shirt and her dress(yes, she's still in her dress with her heels. Scary right?). He then undid her dress so he could get to the opening and began wrapping them and the wraps around her to try and stop the bleeding.
Dipper heard a whistling sound and instinctively ducked. Just in time as Bill and Martin passed over him, Martin now gaining the upper hand while Bill was disarmed. Dipper knew this wasn't a safe place, so he picked up Pacifica bridal style and carried her back to the group. Tears were still in his eyes as he brought her back, the first one to meet him was Rosie. She looked frantic and was on the verge of tears, but in an instant she steeled her nerves. "Did you wrap her wound tightly?" She asked Dipper. "As tightly as I could, the wound was located at an awkward angle and I couldn't wrap it properly to where I wouldn't restrict her from breathing." Dipper explained as calmly as he could. Overhead there were various crashes and booming noises indicating at the ungodly fight going on.
Bill was running out of options, and he had a ton so that was saying something. The tricks he could do were great for messing with mortals, but when it came to fighting demons like himself...they were less than helpful. Martin was slashing, hacking, and stabbing every which way at his father, yet as fast as he was only occasional strikes found their marks. Then Bill spotted his sword laying on the ground only few feet from him. He grinned evilly and made a mad dash for it. He didn't get far before Martin figured out what he was doing. "Oh no you don't!" He said angrily and flew towards the older demon. Bill snarled and leapt up, twisting in midair. Once Martin got in close enough did Bill act, hooking his foot around the neck of his son. "Useless!" He roared and sent him crashing into the ground. Bill once again ran for his sword but was stopped short by Martin grabbing his leg and flinging him backwards. Bill hit his back against the wall and skilled slumped down in exhaustion, the toll of maintaining a human form was massive and left him tired.
Martin staked over to the seemingly defeated dream demon, his eyes filled with a murderous rage. "Time to die!" He said coldly. Bill looked on his sword, so close here could reach out and-a thought struck him, one so simple he had to stop himself from laughing or changing expressions. "This is going to take a bit out of me, but the rewards will be worth it!" Bill thought darkly. He raised his hand in a seeming surrender, but Martin wasn't having any of it and kept walking. The sword on the ground began to rattle and spark but if it grabbed the attention of the love demon he showed no signs. Bill concentrated as much as he could without alerting Martin if his plan, the sword began floating above the ground. "Now you-" "Die?" "Yes." "Okay, die!" Then the sword burst into flames and rocketed towards Martin, the tip aimed straight for his heart. Martin realized a second too late and managed to move his body out of the way, but the sword still found a mark and pierced the limb of the wing and severed the whole thing. In a moment of pain and anger, Martin made a grab for the sword, lifted it, and slammed it against the floor and shattered the blade.
"Oh shi-"
"Her pulse is getting weaker, there's just too much blood loss for us to fix with the materials on hand!" Giffany said with dismay, her internal heart monitor connected to Pacifica getting weaker by every passing...well nobody could tell how much time had passed to be honest. She and Rosie worked furiously with every scrap of medical supplies that was brought including bandages, antiseptic, pain killers, alcohol, thread and string, and ginger ale. Giffany had identified a that Pacifica had some internal bleeding and was close to having it enter her lungs. Pacifica had just recovered from the shock but still felt numb to the pain. "Don't worry Pacifica, we'll get you well don't worry." Rosie said but wasn't sure if she was trying to reassure Pacifica or herself. Pacifica was already feeling woozy and everything was getting hazier, but there was something he needed to do. She looked over towards Wendy and beckoned her over. Wendy walked over and knelt down besides the dying heiress. "Hey, we've never officially met have we?" Pacifica asked with a small laugh. Wendy smiled a sad smile and replied, "No we haven't, the name's Wendy Corduroy." The red head said sadly. "How do you do, my name is Pacifica Northwest. Congratulations by the way." Pacifica said. "Wait, what?" Wendy asked but Pacifica had already gone unconscious by then.
"She's near flat lining, we have to give her some blood." Giffany said urgently. Rosie stuck out her arm, "We have the same blood type I know that. If you can do it then please hurry!" Rosie said with tears in her eyes. Giffany nodded and held up her two index fingers, needles suddenly springing from the tips. She stuck her left finger into Rosie's arm, who flinched slightly, and stuck the other into the chest of Pacifica, the blood slowly being drawn from Rosie and into Pacifica.
A sudden crash caused the rest of the group to take their eyes off of the traumatic scene before them and look up. In a crater in the wall stuck the dream demon Bill Cipher, reduced back to his previous physical form of a triangle with a single eye. Martin loomed over the defeated figure of his father. "If you think killing me is going to solve anything then you're sadly mistaken miss temperamental. This town has seen too much horror over the last month that they'll never recover, I broke them and there's nothing you can do to reverse it!" Bill said sadistically.
"A month, how is that possible?!" Mabel asked confusedly, an edge of fear in her voice. "It's called time dilution, I think some Einstein thought of it!" Bill said in sarcastic fashion, then started laughing uncontrollably. The laughing only ceased when a sword ran him through the eye. "Sorry dad, but you suck at making jokes." Martin lamented. The form of Bill Cipher began to glow white hot before unceremoniously exploding in a blinding flash.
Everyone just wanted to relax at that moment, however fate had always been a cruel mistress. Suddenly the entire castle felt like it was in the epicenter of an earthquake, chunks of ceiling were already starting to fall. "We have to go note dudes, the minute those pillars give out we'll have hundreds of pounds of granite fall right on top of us!" Soos yelled urgently, pointing to the visible cracks in the supports. "We can't, if I stop the transfusion now then Pacifica won't make it to a hospital once we get out!" Giffany said, trying to be heard over the rumbling. Martin then knelt down next to Pacifica, "She's going to have to make it or else she'll be flattened along with the rest of us!" Martin yelled angrily. With a sigh of defeat from both her and Rosie, Giffany took the needles out and retracted them back into her hands. "Let's go!" Wendy called and ran back down the stairs, followed closely by everyone else and Martin holding Pacifica in her arms. Somehow the group made it back to where they came in at but there was no shiny elevator or smiley elevator man waiting for them. "What do we do now?" Mabel said, then looked at Martin pleadingly. "Even if I had my other wing I can't carry all of you at once!" He said. Everyone exchanged glances, then...
"JUMP FOR IT!" and they all plummeted towards the ground.
