The Party
8:00 p.m.
The people of the town were still trickling into the party, all dressed up in their own forms of fancy clothing. It was generally a nice atmosphere, everyone was laughing, smiling, and talking amongst themselves. Occasionally some would place a donation in the box for the charity service and the people would thank them for their consideration. Over all it was a huge turn out, and everyone couldn't wait for the entertainment and the food to be put out.
Mabel was currently sitting at a table set farther away from the party goers. She wore a black cocktail dress with a couple of pink zig zagging patterns across the bottom, and a pair of black spike heels which greatly accented her red painted toenails. She has already been asked by a couple of guys if she was single but she didn't talk much. She had too many problems on her mind to deal with to be social. "Dammit, why does all the complicated stuff have to involve me, can't I get a break?!?" She whispered to herself. Candy and Pacifica were both weighing in her mind, should she break the heart of the snooty rich girl who always put her down, or should she break the heart of her best friend? She thought this decision would be an open and shut case but it wasn't...all because of Dipper.
She knew Dipper never gave her an answer, but she could tell from the look on his face after he returned from his date. He loved Pacifica, and she knew that no amount of love potion from any love god could reverse that. Mabel looked up and saw a man walking towards her. He looked to be almost in his twenties, sort of tall with the typical nerdy look of large black, plastic frame glasses, a plaid button up shirt with a brown tweed jacket, dark blue straight legged jeans, and a pair of black and white Converse shoes.
"I...uh...noticed you from across the room, are you-" the man was saying before Mabel held up a finger, cutting him off. "I think we both know what the answer is, no I'm not interested in a date or in you. Besides, I'm a little too young for you anyways." Mabel said all without blinking. The man raised an eyebrow, then chuckled. "What's so funny?" Mabel asked, both confused and annoyed that this guy probably wasn't getting the message. "I'm sorry, I guess some random guy approaching a girl at a party is a pretty universal sign that the male wants to get into the girl's pants." He explained with a dopey grin on his face.
When the guy noticed Mabel wasn't laughing he stopped and extended his hand in a serious fashion. "My name is Mark-Anthony Thompson from the University of Michigan, and I am a major in the field of supernatural studies." Mark-Anthony said with pride, but when he looked at Mabel she was still confused. "I study ghosts and monsters." He explained. "I knew that!" Mabel said in a huffy fashion, "So Mark, why are you bothering me again?" Mabel asked, clearly still not happy about her own problems.
Mark then had a look of realization cross his face, which made Mabel giggle to herself. "Oh yes, why I'm here. Well aren't you one of the Mystery Twins, the very same who stopped that false psychic Gideon and who is on the cover of Paranormal Monthly with her brother Dipper Pines?" Mark then pulled out a magazine that looked more like something Mabel's brother would read. Sure enough, Mabel recognized a picture of her and Dipper that Toby had taken shortly after they had solved the mystery of the ghost bicycle, don't ask.
"Oh wow, I didn't know we had fans outside of Gravity Falls! So...what, do you want an autograph?" Mabel asked, still clearly annoyed by Mark's presence. "No autograph necessary, I am an avid anime enthusiast and I was wondering if I could interview you and your brother for the chance to be in your own anime series!" He said excitedly.
Mabel raised an eyebrow, took a sip of her punch, then said "Sorry pal but you're a little late on that one, some guy already asked us if we wanted to have a cartoon series made about us, I think his name was Alex...Hirsch or something like that. Anyway apparently he's working on it but the sad thing is he's making me and my brother like 12, plus apparently I'm supposed to be this over peppy girl with braces who loves sweaters...I don't get it." Mabel explained, taking another sip from her glass.
"Oh...well...sorry I wasted your time." He said before he started walking away. "Hey wait, you already got me talking! Plus, talking takes my mind off things." Mabel said with a friendly smile on her face. So Mark then sat down at Mabel's table, and suddenly neither of them felt so alone anymore. "So you say you like anime, right?" Mabel asked seriously. "Yeah, maybe a little." He said, holding up his right forearm with an orange arm band on his wrist with the Japanese symbol for 'kai'. Mabel smiled, "That's cool, but I think I have you beat." She claimed, holding out her hands and extending her painted nails. On each nail she had one of the hidden village symbols drawn on in stunning detail.
"Wow...I'm impressed!" He said with a smirk, making Mabel smile triumphantly. Just then Mabel saw Pacifica walk in and all Mabel could say was "Whoa" and for good reason, Pacifica looked beautiful. She had on a silken sky blue kimono style dress with gold swirl patterns decorating the upper torso and the skirt section, the bottom of the dress was detailed with some white linen cloth and also had a large slit up the right side to her upper thigh, she then noticed that Pacifica was also wearing a pair of white spike heels and had her usually straight blonde hair in a natural, wavy pattern. Everybody then stopped what they were doing and turned to look at her and then Mabel got worried. If any teenage guys were in here they would already be feeling the urge and feel like Pacifica was easy prey.
Pacifica blushed and walked in followed by an older woman who looked about as gorgeous as Pacifica with a white bridal gown-esque style dress and matching white heels. Once Mabel made eye contact with Pacifica she waved at her. Pacifica stopped, looked behind her, then looked back at Mabel while pointing to herself, she then mouthed the word "me" so no one could hear her. Mabel nodded, which made Pacifica smile and wave back. Mabel didn't know why she was being so nice to Pacifica, after all she had been nothing but a bitch for the entirety that she knew her, yet Mabel still felt like she should show kindness to her on her brother's behalf. "Speaking of which, where is that goober brother of mine?" Mabel wondered aloud.
"I'm sorry?" Mabel heard a voice, making her jump. She then focused and realized it was only Mark, whom she had forgotten was there. "Nothing, excuse me for a moment." She said while getting up from the table. "Yeah, okay I'll wait here." He smiled, which made Mabel smile then walk off. She grabbed her phone from her purse and dialed Dipper. After about six rings the voicemail came on. "Hey bro bro it's Mabel, just calling to let you know you're missing the very party you got us invited to, just a heads up if you haven't guessed it yet Pacifica is here and I think she's looking for you Romeo!" Mabel said before switching off her phone and going back to her seat where, sure enough, Mark-Anthony was still seated like he said he would be. Mabel couldn't help but smile, she had made a new friend.
Soon she saw Grenda and Candy come in and she had to admit that they knew how to dress for a party. Since dating Marion, Grenda was introduced to a wide variety of designer dresses. She had on a golden yellow tube top dress like the one she had on at the Northwest party but this one had a more plunging top showing off more of her ridiculously sized d-cup breasts, the dress also looked to be shimmering leading Mabel to think it was covered in small jewels. She also had on a pair of golden small block heels.
Mabel then looked over at Candy and couldn't believe what she saw...she was wearing a near identical dress like Pacifica's but Candy's was a blood red with black markings on it and a matching pair of red heels. Candy had also done her hair in a sort of wavy pattern almost like Pacifica's. Mabel was confused, is Candy trying to be like Pacifica? Then an idea struck her, "Pacifica must have bought that dress from Candy's mother, that's why they look the same!"
Mabel was freaking out, what the heck should she do if they saw each other. But that fear was quickly realized when she looked over and saw Pacifica walking towards her, then looked back and saw Candy walking over also. "If there is a God, he hates me..." Mabel mumbled before her best friend and arch rival could hear.
"Hi Mabel...Pacifica?" Candy seemed confused because she recognised the dress Pacifica had on. "Oh...well...this is embarrassing..." Pacifica exclaimed, gesturing to hers and Candy's similar dresses. "I guess we shop at the same boutique huh?" Pacifica chuckled in a light-hearted tone. "Why is she being so nice, unless Pacifica has been replaced by a clone!" Mabel thought, and with how weird Gravity Falls is on a day to day basis she wouldn't doubt that was the case.
"Actually I made this dress myself." Candy said, seemingly waiting for something. Suddenly Pacifica got an honestly hilarious expression of realization. "Oh. My. God...you're the daughter of Nikki?!?" Pacifica asked, obviously bewildered. "The very same, and I take it you're the one who bought my dress?" Candy said with a smirk. Pacifica looked down embarrassed, "Sorry, it just was too good to not buy and..." Pacifica started to ramble before Candy held up her index finger to silence her. "It's alright, that's what I made the dress for in the first place, to sell. Quite honestly I was overjoyed to hear that it was you who had bought it, I don't think I could pull off those colors!" Candy said, gesturing to the design of Pacifica's dress.
"Well in all fairness, you look gorgeous in your dress!" Pacifica said, making Candy blush. "Thank you Pacifica." Candy said before she excused herself from the group. "Wow, I honestly expected that conversation to go a completely different route." Mabel said, making Pacifica look at her funny. "And just what did you expect, us to start arguing, demanding the other to change, and when neither would we'd start fighting and ripping off chunks of the dresses?" Pacifica asked, and Mabel shrugged. "Maybe," Mabel answered, and Pacifica laughed. "Please, any good dress designer would never harm their own work. Plus, I was raised better than to get into petty fights...I usually just sue their asses off later." Pacifica joked...at least, Mabel hoped she was joking.
"Now if you'll excuse me, I need to introduce our entertainment." Pacifica said and turned on her heel, walking towards them onto the stage. Pacifica then tapped on the microphone to see if it was working. "Welcome people of Gravity Falls and the out of town commissioners of the Continental Child Mercy Foundation," she gestured to a table in the middle of the room where a group of three guys and girls stood up and waved. "And I hope everyone has made their donation to the Mercy Box situated on their table on the west wall,"Pacifica then gestured over to a donation box situated to her left. "Don't worry to those who didn't you will still be counted, in the generosity of the Northwest name we have decided to grant a check totaling 750 thousand dollars from our own pockets but with the thought that you all support this wonderful cause."
Pacifica then walked over to the six people and handed them the check, which they gratefully took and thanked Pacifica. She then went back on stage. "So, to stop me from rambling I figured you all would like some good music, well...I don't think the older generation may think so but for those out there in love with the culture and have rhythm beating in your heart...here he is the man of the hour, the king of the beat, our very own rap god...GIVE IT UP FOR EMINEM!" Pacifica said and everyone cheered, and there he was the OG Slim Shady along with his band D12.
"Well, I guess we better get to work...hit it dj!" He said and the band started playing. Right off the bat Mabel could tell he was doing her favorite song, "I'm Not Afraid".
[Chorus]
I'm not afraid (I'm not afraid)
To take a stand (to take a stand)
Everybody (everybody)
Come take my hand (come take my hand)
We'll walk this world together, through the storm,
Whatever weather, cold or warm.
You say you know me, you're not alone
Holla, if it feels like you've been down the same road.
[Eminem]
Yeah, it's been a ride
I guess I had to, go to that place, to get to this one
Now some of you, might still be in that place
If you're trying to get out, just follow me
I'll get you there
You can try and read my lyrics off of this paper before I lay 'em
But you won't take the sting out these words before I say 'em
Cause ain't no way I'ma let you stop me from causing mayhem
When I say I'ma do something I do it,
I don't give a damn what you think,
I'm doing this for me, so fuck the world
Feed it beans, it's gassed up, if it thinks it's stopping me
I'ma be what I set out to be, without a doubt undoubtedly
And all those who look down on me I'm tearing down your balcony
No ifs, ands or buts, don't try to ask him why or how can he
From "Infinite" down to the last "Relapse" album
He's still shitting, whether he's on salary paid hourly
Until he bows out or he shits his bowels out of him
Whichever comes first, for better or worse
He's married to the game, like a fuck you for Christmas
His gift is a curse, forget the Earth, he's got the urge
To pull his dick from the dirt, and fuck the whole universe
I'm not afraid (I'm not afraid)
To take a stand (to take a stand)
Everybody (everybody)
Come take my hand (come take my hand)
We'll walk this world together, through the storm
Whatever weather, cold or warm
You say you know me, you're not alone
Holla, if it feels like you've been down the same road.
Okay quit playing with the scissors and shit, and cut the crap
I shouldn't have to rhyme these words in the rhythm for you to know it's a rap
You said you was king, you lied through your teeth, for that
Fuck your fillings, instead of getting crowned you're getting capped
And to the fans, I'll never let you down again, I'm back
I promise to never go back on that promise, in fact
Let's be honest, that last "Relapse" CD was ehhh
Perhaps I ran them accents into the ground
Relax, I ain't going back to that now
All I'm trying to say is get back, click-clack, blow
Cause I ain't playing around
It's a game called circle and I don't know how, I'm way too up to back down
But I think I'm still trying to figure this crap out
Thought I had it mapped out but I guess I didn't, this fucking black cloud
Still follows me around but it's time to exorcise these demons
These motherfuckers are doing jumping jacks now!
[Chorus]
And I just can't keep living this way
So starting today, I'm breaking out of this cage
I'm standing up, I'ma face my demons
I'm manning up, I'ma hold my ground
I've had enough, now I'm so fed up
Time to put my life back together right now! (now)
It was my decision to get clean, I did it for me
Admittedly, I probably did it subliminally
For you, so I could come back a brand new me you helped see me through
And don't even realize what you did, 'cause believe me you
I been through the ringer, but they could do little to the middle finger
I think I got a tear in my eye, I feel like the king of
My world, haters can make like bees with no stingers
And drop dead, no more beef lingers
No more drama from now on, I promise
To focus solely on handling my responsibilities as a father
So I solemnly swear to always treat this roof, like my daughters
And raise it, you couldn't lift a single shingle on it!
Cause the way I feel, I'm strong enough to go to the club
Or the corner pub, and lift the whole liquor counter up
Cause I'm raising the bar
I'd shoot for the moon but I'm too busy gazing at stars
I feel amazing and I'm...
After he had finished everyone was cheering, demanding more but he told them he was gonna take a break but would be back on shortly. He then walked off the stage to a table not too far from where Mabel was sitting. Immediately loads of people came up asking for an autograph. Pacifica must have thought ahead because suddenly Mabel saw two big burly dudes start fending off the crowd. "Now's my chance!" She said, sneaking over to his table. With his two guards distracted by the bigger crowd they didn't notice her going around into his little roped off V.I.P area.
She was about to tap him on the shoulder when he just looked up at her. Mabel kind of froze, unable to find the words to speak to this god of rap. "Can I help you miss...?" "Mabel, my name is Mabel...sir." Mabel said the last word like she was embarrassed. When she looked up he was laughing. "Must be your first time meeting someone famous, right?" He asked, taking a sip of some vitamin water. "Well, I did meet Sev'ral Timez a while back but they turned out to be a bunch of...clones." Mabel explained, looking back at Eminem to see if he was buying any of this.
He raised an eyebrow, then laughed, which made Mabel confused. "Called it!" He said louder than intended, making Mabel jump. "Sorry Mabeline, but I just got excited because I placed a bet down that they clones and now I'm gonna be rolling fat stacks all the live long day!" He said with a smirk. "I'm sorry but, made a bet with who?" Mabel asked. "Some demon of lust from the otherworld, he said his name was Martin but preferred Marty, weird name for a demon." He said taking a sip from his water. Mabel went wide-eyed, "Wait, how do you so much about demons?" She asked, not liking where the answer may lead.
"Did you think I was lying in my song "Rap God"? When I said I was beginning to feel like a rap god, I literally meant that I am the rap god!" He explained patiently, to which Mabel replied by falling in a chair. She put her head in her hands, "Can't I just like an actual human artist or boy band, is that too much to ask?!?" Mabel grumbled, making the god of rap chuckle. "Just proves that you like a higher type of music, and if it helps I was human at one point so it's not like you weren't totally wrong in your assumption." He said with a shrug, and Mabel just say and stared. "Well, I guess a god is sort of better than just a man, sooooo..." she said holding out a copy of his "Recovery" album.
1 fangirl moment later (10 minutes)...
Mabel was freaking out. First she got to meet one of her idols, then she found out he was an actual god, then she got said god to sign her favorite album! "Nothing could ruin this moment!" Mabel said.
Boy fucking howdy was she wrong...
Right then she saw a sight that made her drop her priceless gem. She looked on at Candy who was currently making out with a guy...and that guy just happened to be Mabel's brother! She then looked over to see Pacifica staring at them also, a look of pain etched clearly her face. She then ran out of the town hall with tears in her eyes and that woman who had came in with her quickly followed her out.
Mabel wasn't sure what was going on but she knew one way of finding out, by beating it out of her twin brother and ex-best friend!
Tension...I like it!!!
So as you all can tell this story just took a dark, unforgiving turn into Hell and guess what...I'M DRAGGING ALL OF YOU ALONG FOR THE RIDE, HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
But in the mean time I'll just hold you all hostage, yes you heard me right, HOSTAGE!
Or...rather...this story. It shall go on hiatus unless you all go check out GuineaPigWriter 115's story "Mystery Twins" and give it at least 100 votes, that's not much to ask for right? I guess I should leave out on a joke...
Will Pacifica ever regain her trust and love for Dipper? Will Bill Cipher's maniacal plan be put into motion? Find out on the next episode of Gravity Falls Z!
