Helping a Friend
Pacifica had been standing in front of town hall for nearly two hours now and Dipper has yet to be seen. She had hoped that he would have been the first one in line but knew that it was unlikely. Still, he should have shown up by now. "Where are you Dipper?" Pacifica began to wonder. Then when she decided to just deliver the invite, Dipper came running around the corner, smiling when he caught sight of Pacifica.
Pacifica didn't even hesitate. She walked over to Dipper but remembered to be discreet(like a red flag firework, man I'm bad at this). "Well then, a Pines...I guess you'd like an invitation too?" She said with boredom in her voice, but then she winked at Dipper. Dipper smiled like he understood the situation, "Well I figured after your little ghost attack at the Northwest mansion that you may need my help again, it seems that your a magnet for trouble." Dipper said with a smirk, making Pacifica blush slightly. "Look who's talking," she replied and handed him an invite, but Dipper refused. "In exchange for me going I'll need three more invites." Dipper said, that carefree smirk never leaving his face.
Pacifica chuckled, "Well this feels familiar," she said before whispering "Except this time I'm actually happy your going to be there!" She handed Dipper the invites and walked away, not wanting to draw anymore attention to them. Dipper then began to walk back the way he had come. "Thank you Pacifica," Dipper said to himself, then his face took on an evil smile. "Thank you ever so much!" He said, but no one heard.
1 hour later...
Pacifica POV...
Pacifica was breathing heavily, she had sometimes attended these kind of charity parties but had never hosted one before. Her mother had always stressed the importance of dress, etiquette, and decor when being a host or hostess, and would often challenge Pacifica on multiple occasions to lay out a proper banquet spread. "Thanks mom, never thought I'd get to use those words even if I'm not saying them to her." She thought, then her mind began to wander back to that weird version of the Northwest Family Tree.
"Who were those two people, they couldn't have been my parents because the man's face was off and the woman looked to have naturally blonde hair, something mom doesn't and never had." Pacifica wondered, she knew this because her mom had been blonde at one point but she soon found out it was because of dye and root touch-ups. Plus,
Pacifica sighed, thinking about this would give her a migraine. She decided to go ahead and book the entertainment and the catering because, let's face it, a classical string quartet and caviar aren't going to impress this crowd. She first called up a highly rated seafood/barbeque restaurant located in Portland. At first they weren't willing to come out to tourist trap town in the middle of nowhere, but once Pacifica hinted her family name they were more than willing to do anything.
"That's one thing of the list, now what for the entertainment?" Pacifica wondered, looking through some files of people who owed her dad favors, you wouldn't believe how many do. "Hmm, let's see...Guns and Roses...is on a revival tour; Toby Keith...is currently in Afghanistan singing to the soldiers; Nickelba-hell no;" Pacifica kept looking before coming across a very interesting name, "Eminem, I didn't know daddy worked with him; then again I don't know much of what he does." Pacifica didn't think the people would be very keen on rap music but remembered that he did a heavy handed mixture of rap and rock music, so she called up. It took some bargaining but she managed to convince him to come down and perform, and even let him take his wife and two daughters.
Pacifica took out the dress she had bought at the boutique. It had looked beautiful on the mannequin but seeing it hung up in her closet, Pacifica had to suppress a squeal. Pacifica then decided to invite a couple of her online friends(her parents won't let her make real friends, as demonstrated by her two former lackeys)to come to the party. First was 16 year old Aila Stetner or as most have come to call her "Mystia". She was an American youtuber who had recently moved to England to continue her studies in psychiatry and to be closer to her more distant(and surviving)family. Next was 16 year old Luke Robinson, a certified army brat born and raised in the sweltering Texas heat. He is highly trained in both armed and unnamed combat and is a straight A student, but often chooses to spend his time drawing comics.
Once Pacifica had arranged for them to come, booking the last minute flights for them out to Oregon and buying them nice clothes for the party, she layed down on her bed and sighed.
"And now we wait." Pacifica said to herself.
7:00 p.m., 30 minutes before the party...
Pacifica was currently in her bathroom, putting on her make-up for the party tonight. The caterers had arrived nearly four hours ago and had recently told Pacifica that the food was all prepared and set out for the guests. The entertainment is to arrive fashionably late for dramatic reasons but Pacifica didn't exactly care, she just hoped the man of hour shows up. Once Pacifica was done she looked at her handy work in the mirror. She had applied a light pink blush to her cheeks, mascara, a smoky gray eye shadow to make her electric blue eyes be the focal point, and finally she applied a salmon pink lipstick because she thought if she wore red she'd look way too mature, she wanted to be a kid just a little longer.
Pacifica kept staring at her reflection, at a girl who had been mentally and emotionally abused most of her life, at a girl who was often ridiculed for things like "spoiled" "fake blonde" "fake boobs" just to name a few, a girl who didn't even get a break at home from her parents because they molded her to be such an awful person. "Not tonight you sons of bitches, I won't let you get to me tonight!" She whispered before hearing a knock on her door. "Yes?" Pacifica called out before being answered by her personal maid, Rosie.
"You okay in there Paz, need any help getting ready?" Rosie asked through the door, making Pacifica sigh. Rosie was considered to be young compared to most maids that were hired on by her parents, except her father who used them for other reasons, but Rosie wasn't about that. She was 23 with short brown hair and forest green eyes, she often wore small, rectangular brown glasses, blue jeans, and a Mickey Mouse t-shirt. She had just finished school for her nursing degree and, because she needed the money, came to work for the Northwests. She was at first just extra help but was soon charged with being the main caretaker of Pacifica. Pacifica liked her, but was sometimes frustrated by her ever present shadow of care.
"Uhh, sure come on in." Pacifica said, and thus Rosie walked into the room. Once Pacifica heard that she had closed the bedroom door, Pacifica walked out of the bathroom...without absolutely nothing on. "Umm, miss Pacifica you're not wearing any...uhh..." the young maid struggled to speak before Pacifica answered, "Clothes? Yeah, I noticed," Pacifica said. "Don't tell me you're embarrassed, we're both girls, we both have boobs," and to emphasize this Pacifica grabbed her modest b-cup breasts and smooshed them together. "Please, let's just get you dressed." Rosie insisted, making Pacifica stop, then laugh.
Rosie smiled before going into Pacifica's underwear drawer and pulling out a black bra with red floral designs and some matching panties. Pacifica slipped both on then proceeded to stand in front of her full length dressing room mirror, which her mom had insisted she have so Pacifica never dressed or look like she's "homeless". "Rosie, can you hand me my party dress, the one in bag?" Pacifica asked and Rosie obliged, taking the still wrapped dress out of the closet and hung it up on the mirror next to Pacifica. Carefully, Pacifica began to unwrap it and, upon seeing the actual dress again, almost started crying. "Something wrong Paz?" Rosie asked, genuinely concerned for the young Northwest.
Once, Pacifica had confided in her about the ongoing abuse that had been going on in the Northwest household and, personally, Rosie had wanted to report it immediately. But Pacifica had been scared at the time, not wanting to anger her parents, plus she convinced Rosie that if her parents went to jail then the estate would belong to her and she had no idea how to run it. Rosie still wished nothing but to see Preston Northwest behind bars along with his personal bitch of a wife, but knew Pacifica was right. Plus, she would be out of the job...I mean, it isn't hard to find a job for a nurse but Rosie really liked it here.
Rosie was deep in thought until she heard Pacifica finally speak. "Nothing, it's just that...for so long I've been a terrible person to so many people and now...I'm finally doing something nice for people who aren't me or my parents, plus I've finally got myself the best boyfriend ever. Things may finally be looking up for me if we can survive until I get my parent's estate." Pacifica said, making Rosie smile once more. "I know you'd do well to take over the family business, maybe even better than Preston." Rosie commented and meant it, she truly thought Preston Northwest was just the worst kind of person right after his wife...and maybe Hitler and Stalin but not by much.
"Let's get you into that pretty dress, shall we?" Rosie asked, making Pacifica look back and smile. "Sure, though I feel like you should go with me." Pacifica said nonchalantly, but Rosie was confused. When Pacifica saw the look on Rosie's face she explained, "My parents said I needed an someone to watch me and unless I'm mistaken, you're someone." Pacifica said in sly manner. Rosie at first was shocked, then it turned to a mock serious tone, "You're using me as an escort so you can sneak off with your boyfriend...that is incredibly and undeniably underhanded and genius, wish I thought of it back then." Rosie smirked meaning she was on board, but then she frowned, "But I don't have a nice enough dress for any kind of party, I don't-" She complained, but Pacifica held up her hand to silence her.
"What size are you?" Pacifica asked bluntly, making Rosie wonder what the young Northwest was planning. "Well I'm about a 32c-cup and a 24 inch waist, why?" Rosie asked, but Pacifica looked back at her mirror. "Help me with this dress, then I'll help you with yours."
Once Pacifica was in her dress Rosie couldn't stop fawning over it. "It's absolutely gorgeous, and you just make it that much more so!" She would tell would tell Pacifica over and over, each time reworded but still spewing the same message. Pacifica huffed them said "If you're done admiring me then let's get you outfitted!" Pacifica said, grabbing Rosie by the arm and led her outside. In her mind Rosie was thinking, "What the heck is she going on about, how the heck is she going to get me a dress this close to the party?!?"
Soon Pacifica stopped in front of a door, one that Rosie could have passed by everyday but never have given second thought, but Pacifica looked at it like the answer to her problems, or Rosie's. "Uhh Pacifica, what are we doing here?" Rosie asked, remembering Mrs. Northwest's explicit instructions not to go snooping into any other rooms without her permission first. "You'll see," Pacifica smirked, then ran her left hand down the side of the door frame, seemingly feeling for something.
When Pacifica felt what she needed to find she smiled a bit wider. She then pulled a secret lever that opened the door leading into darkness. "Is there a light switch?" Rosie asked aloud, but Pacifica just stared ahead. She then clapped her hands to what Rosie only assumed to be Morse code. "What was that?" Rosie asked, wondering if the young Northwest girl had finally lost it. "My mother is a very paranoid person, I just said 'turn on the lights'." Pacifica said, making Rosie pull an ohhh face.
Then suddenly, the lights came on, and Rosie finally saw what Pacifica meant. It was a walk in closet, but around maybe four times bigger than any normal walk in closet Rosie had ever seen, and about every square foot of it was covered in dresses. They were gorgeous in Rosie's eyes, some were in am elegant dark green, some took on a more royal purple, others a more sexy red look. "Wow," was all Rosie could get out. "Yeah, my mom doesn't like to wear the same thing twice, nor does she like giving anything away which is kind of lucky in our case." Pacifica shrugged, then walked in followed by Rosie.
"Let's see, how about this?" Pacifica asked, holding up a strapless ocean blue dress with a slit up both legs and a small diamond in the middle of the crevice(I'm sorry, I just have no idea what to call that little dip in the dress where it holds the boobs, if anyone can tell me that would be great). "It's definitely beautiful," Rosie said, still transfixed on all the other dresses around her. "But it just doesn't feel like it suits you." Pacifica said before putting it back. "Wait, I know!" Pacifica said excitedly, then ran to the end of the closet. She came back with a beautiful white silk dress with gold leaf edging on the bottom and the matching heels. "Let's go make you look beautiful!" Pacifica exclaimed excitedly.
Minutes later...
Rosie was looking at herself in Pacifica's mirror and was completely speechless. "Like my handiwork?" Pacifica asked, knowing that Rosie thought she had worked a miracle. Pacifica had used a bright red lipstick to draw more attention to Rosie's more pale, porcelain like skin. She was also given a touch up with some mascara and a smoky gold eye shadow. "I look...just...wow!" Rosie kept trying to say but her words kept catching. "I know, I'm the greatest." Pacifica jokingly boasted, then Rosie hugged her. "This is incredible, thank you Pacifica!" She said happily, jumping up and down(luckily not in heels)with excitement. "Your welcome, that's my mother's wedding dress by the way so don't mess it up too bad." Pacifica said, making Rosie stop jumping. "Mother's wedding dress...but I thought the dress was hanging up in her room?" Rosie asked, genuinely confused. "The other's a fake, or at least it's just a more expensive dress. My parents had a second wedding I was told which was held live and my mother, being who she was, had a near 2.5 million dollar dress made for the occasion. But back then ,before she became so money grubby, she was said to be fairly modest and bought that dress, which I still believe to be a hell of a lot more beautiful than the other one." Pacifica said before glancing at her clock, then went wide eyed. "Shit, is it that late already?!? We're going to be late to our own party!" Pacifica said before slipping on a pair of heels she had chosen to wear with her dress. Rosie then slipped on her heels, which were thankfully not spike heels Rosie thought and followed Pacifica down the stairs, out the door of the manor, and into the waiting limo taking them to the party they won't soon forget.
