Hello everyone and welcome to an all-new chapter. I decided to do an early update on this because I wanted to lol, nah because it takes forever to get 1 story update out there and today I updated Malec Oneshots and since I have extra time on my hands I decided to update this yay!

So this story has hit 70 reads so far which is incredible, I wasn't expecting anybody to read this story. Thank you to the people who have read this story and voted on it, it means a lot to me :)

So today's chapter we will pick up where we left off, where Fury and S.H.E.I.L.D heard about the explosion in Central City, I will also do a flashback to when Fury met Eobard Thawne and Eobard was trying to steal a foreshadowing blue box, Iris and Steve talked in the hospital. Also, I will do a time skip to 1 month after the explosio very soon.

It's gonna be interesting I assure you.

Still Fury's Pov

"Wait what is Steve doing in Central City?" Hill asked. I didn't want to tell her about the email I got back from Steve so instead, I kept it simple and truthful.

"Steve quit the Avengers and moved to Central City to start a new life" I replied.

"What?!" Hill shouted "why did he leave when we need him the most?" she asked

"Need him? more like use him." Coulson buzzed in. I gave him my classic "Nick Fury resting face" as what Stark likes to call it.

"If Steve lives in Central City and this explosion happened, does that mean it hit him?" Hill asked "like I said this explosion waved that hit downtown all the way towards Starling City area full of dark matter it can change your DNA and  it can be deadly," Hill said worriedly

I sighed and picked up a flip phone he gave me for emergencies only. I remember when Tony came to me complaining about Steve giving him a flip phone as well. I opened the phone and dialed his number.

I waited... till there was a response

"Hello?"

"Mr. Rogers its Fury. Heard about the explosion...are you okay?"

Steve's Pov

Dead, not dead, dead again, alive again, that is pretty much what's happening to Barry in the room. His heart would stop then pick back up again. Here's the weird thing, every time his heart stops every single technology in the building including the lights would glitch. I became very concern about this kid, Barry's friend or girlfriend, Iris, was scared out of her mind. I did everything in my power to calm her down. I went to the cafeteria to get her a cup of coffee, we've been here all night. We were too anxious to go home, we were worried sick about Barry.

I returned back and handed her a cup of coffee. She smiled.

"Thanks"

"Your welcome"

I sat down next to her and she took a sip of her coffee.

"So that shield of yours" Iris started "what is it?" I looked at her, I didn't want to tell her about my old life in New York because I will be telling her my secret. But she looks like a kind of person to keep a secret.

I rubbed my hands nervously together. "that shield is...my weapon" I said

"Weapon like a superhero weapon?" she asked. I nodded

"What did they call you?"

"Captain America." I said. 

"Where did you live?" 

"New York" 

"So you were basically New York's vigilante?" She asked me I cringed at that word, that was the word that the Ross guy said to us, The Avengers.

"Not exactly, I was their hero, I was in a team but we had a falling out so I left and came here, ran into Barry Allen on the way." I said.

"That's how you know Barry?" she asked me. Wow she asked a lot of questions

"Yeah. the kid went on about this Particle Accelerator" I said then looking down again. She put her hand on my shoulder in comfort. I smiled slightly. Before I could ask any questions my phone started to ring. I looked at the phone "uh excuse me" I said excusing myself and walked at the empty hallway.

"Hello?" I answered

"Mr. Rogers its Fury. Heard about the explosion...are you okay?" 

I sighed, of course, he's going to call me but it's good to hear his voice I guess. "yeah I'm fine"

"Listen, Rogers, I know that you don't want to hear from me but I have something to tell you." Fury said. I became interested

"Go on." I said

"That explosion wasn't a normal explosion" 

"what do you mean?"

"I would love to tell you but let's not do it over the phone. I going to Central City to investigate the damage and see if my theory is correct or not" He said.

"okay where should we meet?" I asked him

"I don't know, where do you live?" He asked. After moments of thinking I decided to give him my address. We bid each other goodbyes. I hung up and walked back towards Iris and I heard a flatline in the room where Barry is, the lights went out for a split second.

Here we go again. 

Fury's Pov

I wrote the address to Rogers's place in Central City, after saying our goodbyes I hung up and looked at Hill and Coulson who were still here "prepare my jet" I commanded them

"yes sir" they both said and walked out of my office. I looked inside of the drawer and pulled a syringe gun I had full of a special powerful chemical that can take someone out, not just anyone, a speedster. I remember meeting Eobard back in the 2012 or around there just before Loki's attack.

~Flashback~

 I Studied this glowing box call the Tesseract closely. It was late it was just me and Dr. Selvig. The Tesseract was throwing a fit not letting anyone come near it. We become tired

"Dr. Selvig you should go home" I suggested. He chuckled

"Science never sleeps, my friend"

"Yeah well, science gets tired and needs rest. We will pick up where we left off tomorrow Dr. go home and get some rest" I said. He nodded and packed up his tools and walked out. It was just me and Barton who was somewhere in his nest. I looked at the Tesseract

"why won't you cooperate?"  I asked it

"Because it senses danger, someone is coming" A voice came. I looked behind me drawing my gun "who's there?" I asked 

"Barton! is that you?!" I shouted

"Oh so that's his name." the voice said, the thing stepped out of the shadow, he was wearing a yellow suit with a red lightning bolt symbol. His eyes were glowing red and he was vibrating.

I stared at it. "who the hell are you" I asked it. He stopped vibrating and took off his mask.

"My name is Eobard Thawne and I want the tesseract." He said

"screw you, this thing belongs to us" I called out Eobard out

Eobard ran towards me literally in a split second it was like I blinked and he was right there. He grabbed my arm and twisted it to disarm me. I dropped the gun. I grunted out in pain

"ah what the hell?" I asked. "what are you?" I asked him

"call me the Reverse Flash." he said making his voice dark and vibrating, his eyes went red again. I didn't move a muscle

"You should be afraid of me." Eobard said raising his hand up in the air he was vibrating it like he was going to strike me down.

"Bitch please I met people worse than you" I said "Now like I said the Tesseract belongs to us. What did you want with it?" I asked him

"Oh well if you were going to give it to me like I asked I was going to use to power on a powerful machine to create something or someone. It is almost His time to become the impossible but then again I could something else like dark matter and some acceleration" Eobard said. Now he was talking nonsense but he talks like he was from...somewhere...not around this time not like an alien like he was from the future.

"you're from the future aren't you?" I asked him

"you are smarter than you appear but yes I am. I would love to kill you but you are far too important in this universe." He said. Well, that makes me feel better...I think

"come to think of it, I don't need the Tesseract after all." He said again letting me go. I fell to the ground. I saw Eobard look at the Tesseract "but I do warn you, someone else will come after it, someone who is not from this world he works with someone that I can't even say his name without being....afraid...someone bigger than me someone wiser than me someone way powerful than me. It's best that I stay out of this." Eobard said. It seemed to me he was warning me rather than saying some nonsense

"who are you talking about?" I asked him

"I can't tell you but I can tell you this." he said and kneeled down "Have you best team ready, fully trained and weaponized, you'll need them...sooner than you think." He said. I studied his words closely, his eyes, normal eyes were full of fear and worry. Whoever this powerful person is seemed to scare him.

"Director Fury?" I heard a voice in a distance, it sounded like Barton. I got up

"don't tell anyone this if you do I will find an alternative way to kill you." Eobard said putting on his masked. he ran off in a blink of an eye, he had a streak behind him. It was red.

"Fury!" Barton called out again he ran towards me

"You alright Barton?" I asked him

"yeah someone knocked me out I thought he/she got to you" Barton said rubbing the back of his head

"I'm fine, I didn't see anyone" I lied to him. Barton nodded "I'll be up there if you need me sir" He said

"actually go home, it's late we will pick up what we are doing, go home" I said to him. He nodded and walked out.

I was about to walk out when I saw the Tesseract pulse again. I looked at it and remember what Eobard said.

"Someone else will come after it..." He voiced trailed in my head.

~end of flashback~

I was staring at the gun having that flashback when someone interrupted me. 

"sir your jet is ready." Hill said. I quickly hide the gun

"Thank you Hill." I said.

"Do you need company boss?" Coulson asked me

"No, it's best I go alone." I said standing up. Coulson nodded at me

"Call me if there's any updates on the explosion or anything else" I said

"Yes sir" Coulson said walking out.

I walked out to my jet. I told the pilot the location, he nodded and flew off.

Steve's Pov

After a long day at the hospital, the doctors told us to go home to get some rest, they said they were going to call if anything happens. I walked into my dark apartment. I turned on the light and saw Fury sitting at my chair

"glad to see you Mr. Rogers" He said, the voice startled me, I grabbed my shield and was about to swing it at Fury

"whoa, at ease soldier" He said. I took a breath "Fury you scared me"

"Boo" he said. I rolled my eyes. I sat down at the couch "want any beverages?" I asked him, he shook his head

"No I'm staying long, now" he started and leaned forward

"there is something I have to tell you and you need to listen closely to every single detail I am about to tell you alright?" he said I nodded.

"Good." He said

"The explosion wasn't a normal explosion, it was filled with dark matter." Fury started
