Hello everyone welcome to a new chapter today I hope you all are doing well. I am officially 18 years old yep everyone big old 18 AND NO THIS DOES NOT MEAN I AM GOING TO DATE ANY OF YOU- sorry went a little overboard I think it's because the world knows I'm 18 and wanted every single guy in this damn world to hit on me...

So anyway I did update Take A  Closer Look which feels so good to update that book again I will hopefully update it again soon I just don't know when so just keep a lookout in your guys' notification box :D

~Flashback 15 years ago in the Allen house~ 3rd person Pov

It was a quiet evening in the neighborhood, it was dead silent no wind, no cars, and not even the slightest sound could be heard in the distance. Nora Allen had just tucked her 11-year-old son Barry Allen to bed and made her way down the stairs to make herself a late-night wine. Her husband Henry Allen smiled at the sight of his wife. Nora was about to take a sip of her wine when her drink started to float out of the cup and spill on the floor. All of a sudden not one but two people flashed into the room. The Flash was running around the walls being chased by Reverse-Flash, the two shared punches, reverse flash kicked The Flash in the face causing him to spit out blood on the wall. The Flash hit Reverse Flash with a shield that he borrowed from his husband. The Flash caught sight of young Barry standing there horrified. The Flash raced towards Young Barry while Reverse-Flash tried to grab him. The Flash punched Reverse in the face then grabbed young Barry and flashed him out on the streets and into the portal. There stood young Barry not knowing what had happened. The Flash had disappeared into a portal and was not seen. The neighborhood was left quiet and motionless again in the night that was peaceful that now ended in a tragedy.

~Present time~ Barry's Pov

Joe and I had stayed up all night trying to figure Wells out and tie him up with my mother's case. I would say I am going a little bit nuts while Joe was standing there dealing with me. 

"All right, this is everything that we know about Harrison Wells, which is actually not a lot," I said taking a sip of my coffee which was cup number...fuck I don't know.

"Didn't you read a whole book about him?" Joe asked looking up from his phone

"Yeah, 600 pages and the big takeaway is, he's enigmatic," I said

"Your mom was killed by a speedster. Wells' machine-turned you into a speedster. That's way too many coincidences for this old cop," Joe scoffed putting his phone away

"Do you think that he wanted me to become The Flash?" I asked him

"Everything he's done since that night you got struck by lightning... bringing you to S.T.A.R. Labs, giving you the suit, training you... it's all been to keep you safe," Joe said. I chewed on my lip thinking about what Joe was saying

"And to make me faster. Wells once said that he needed more speed from me" I said 

"Why?" Joe asked

"I don't know," I said shrugging

"Well we just need to figure out what it is," Joe said which caused me to perk up

"Well, let's go get him then. Let's get some answers" I said

"I wouldn't do that if I were you kid that's how you get killed" Steve's voice came at the doorway he was leaning against the doorframe. Oh god please tell me he didn't hear me say me and The Flash all in the same sentence. 

"U-um hey St-Steve how long were you standing there?" I asked nervously with my heart beating out of my chest

"Not long I just showed up when you said something about Wells and getting answers from him," Steve said then walked in and stood next to Joe

"C-Cool um what are you doing here?" I asked 

"Joe texted me," Steve said

"Yeah, I did that me, I texted Steve" Joe said grinning before clearing his throat. Okay, weird Steve never mentioned that he and my...foster dad have been texting.

"Um so Barry I haven't been honest with you" Steve started which caused me to lean forward on my desk listening to what he is saying "I have been investigating Wells with Joe for a while now," He said. 

"I'm sorry what?" I asked

"And Tony Stark" Joe corrected Steve

"Yes and Stark all three of us have been investigating Wells, Stark had to leave because all of a sudden his fiancée was threaten by the Man in the Yellow Suit," Steve said. I stared at him in disbelief why would he do that to me why would he just turn his back on me and investigate my enemy that I have been trying to figure out for years and why in the hell did he keep this from me. I clenched my hand into a fist angrily which caught Joe's eye

"Barry," Joe said in his stern warning voice

"Why didn't you tell me?" I asked with a slight hurt in my voice

"I didn't want you getting hurt because whenever someone would investigate Wells something bad happens to them take Mason Bridge for example," Steve said mentioning Iris's boss that went missing all of a sudden after threatening to expose Wells.  

"Who cares if I get hurt?! I want this man in prison the same spot that my dad has been sitting in for years for a crime he didn't commit! I have spent years trying to figure out who the person that killed my mom is and I thought I could trust you to stay out of it but instead, you ripped the investigation away from me Steve!" I yelled at him tears welling up 

"Barry I care if you get hurt if you get hurt by him I don't know what I'll do," Steve said

"Do what you do best, bounce to a different town" I scoffed at him which caused Steve to look at me sternly. Before Steve could say anything else there was a loud booming outside nearby. We all turned to the window and saw what appears to be parachutes with presents attached to it floating outside. I looked at Joe and Steve then moved past them to go outside to see what was going on. I was quickly met up by Joe and Steve. We all watched as the parachutes landed on an obstacle in the park and blew it up. People all around the park gathered their kids and ran off. Steve and Joe ran off to help some of the kids who were trying to reach for a present. 

"Henry!" I heard a man cry out for his son who was reaching for a present. It caught my attention and Steve's. We both ran to the kid and I scooped him up in my arms and I felt Steve's strong arms wrap around me and the kid as an explosion was nearby. I took a breath and released the boy from my arms who then ran into his dad's worried arms. I smiled at the kid

"Henry?" I asked and the kid turned to me "Nice name" I said as it reminded me of my father.

Steve's Pov

'Do what you do best, bounce to a different town'  The words that Barry said replayed in my mind over and over again. I have never seen Barry this angry before it was expected I knew he was going to be angry after I hid this important case from him. I admit I am dumb, this was very important to him he has been trying to prove to the police that his father didn't commit this crime. I watched as Barry smiled at the kid we both saved, he turned to me and brushed past me like I was invisible to him. My heart hurt seeing him angry but I understand but what he doesn't understand is how much I care about him, he doesn't understand that his life is at stake now that he is investigating Wells. He doesn't understand that I care about him what's more important...

He doesn't know that I love him and know I'll do anything to protect him. I was broken out of my thoughts by Joe calling me

"Hey Steve, I have to get to S.T.A.R. Labs to let Flash know what happened here can you cover for me and make sure nobody sees Barry and I's research?" Joe asked. I nodded

"Yeah do what you got to do Detective," I said

"Thanks, Cap I know I can count on you," Joe said then sprinted off. 

Barry's Pov

"Look who's back. My tricks. My treat. But I'll give you something good to eat. Today's special. A city in ashes. The Trickster proudly welcomes you all to the new disorder."  The audio from today's attack played on the screen in S.T.A.R. Labs

" Talking in the third person. That's never a good sign," Cisco said with his arms crossed

"You're just mad because he named himself," Caitlin said

"Actually, he didn't. 20 years ago, Central City was hit by a series of terrorist attacks. One man killed at least ten civilians, two cops. That guy called himself The Trickster," Joe said then pulled up a picture of the original Trickster "James Jesse" Joe said

"Hmm looks like a Jedi wannabe," I said (A/N: get it? Trickster was played by Mark Hamill...Mark Hamill..Star War? Jedi? HA IM HILARIOUS) 

"And where is Mr. Jesse now?" Wells asked

"He's serving several life sentences at Iron Heights. He was just about the most dangerous thing Central City had ever seen," Joe said

"You mean until the Particle Accelerator blew up," I said kinda pissed then glared at Wells

"Um...Barry and I will go see this James Jesse at Iron Heights, see if he can give us something that can help us catch his groupie," Joe said

"I'll analyze the video and see if I can figure out the source," Cisco said going to his computer. I walked off not saying another word. I can't bear staying in the same room that Wells is in I had to stop myself so many times from attacking him and yell at him release all of my anger that I didn't know I had on him. 

Steve's Pov (bouncing again sorry)

What a boring day how can Barry stand it? I am literally sitting here in his lab, a now cleaned lab since I spent almost 15 minutes cleaning cause my god was it a mess. I sat here playing on my cell phone, I had sent Barry 3 text messages asking if he's okay and that we should talk but he didn't reply I have no idea where he ran off to but he should be here...making a mess of his lab. I scanned over my contacts and came across Fury's name. I sighed and decided to call him he should know that Barry is investigating the man that he is also investigating. It wasn't long before Fury picked up

"Who's calling in this god awful morning Mother fucker" Fury yelled. Wow yeah note to self never talk to Fury who woke up on the wrong side of the bed

"Language," I said out of habit

"Oh, Steve it's you, what do you want Mother fucker?" Fury asked. I rolled my eyes at his attitude

"Well I call just to let you know that Barry Allen is known investigating Wells and I fear he'll end up in the same boat as his sister's boss," I said

"I assume you meant Mason Bridge," Fury said. On the other line, I heard him shuffling around then a banging sound and him cussing, I'd assume he fell out of bed

"Yeah, how did you know about that?" I asked

"Well long story short I actually hired him but I wasn't expecting him to die he did however sent me the files that I needed on Wells before his magical disappearance," Fury said

"You hired a boss that caused Iris to stress over Flash articles?" I asked

"Precisely," Fury said. Good grief I was to tell Iris about Fury and what he did she'll probably murder him. 

"Look I mostly called you because after everyone who has tried to investigate Wells has ended up dead Barry is investigating Wells now the man who basically helped him recover from the Particle Accelerator Fury I'm...I am scared that I'll lose him I finally able to get close to him and I don't want this to get ruined who knows something will happen to Barry he'll end up asleep for more than 80 years and watch me grow old and die" I said mentioning me and missing out on Peggy's life

"Oh Rogers...you worry too much I understand your concern but Barry can take care of himself I'm sure Barry knows what he is doing you worrying like you are is going to distract you from what you do best which is saving the city alongside with The Flash if you are very concern about Barry's safety then tell him who you are, tell him that you're Captain America and tell him that his safety matters you to you and maybe give him a  kiss or two" Fury suggested. I chuckled at  his kissing him suggestion

"Fury even though you're a dick in the morning you give out great advice," I said

"Oh I'm calm cause I am drinking coffee but no problem Steve I have to get going just remember even though we are far away I still got my eye on you," Fury said

"I know you do. Take care Fury" I said then hung up and took a deep breath. He's right Barry can take care of himself I have nothing to worry about. 

Barry's Pov

After that weird interview with James Jesse who is strangely obsessed with red vines candy, he gave us a location of his old hideout back when he was the trickster. He showed some hatred towards the new trickster which is expected someone else is doing his work for him. Joe and I made our way towards James' hideout it was an old warehouse 

"This looks like nobody's been here since the '90s," I said looking at the warehouse "You really think Jesse doesn't know who this new Trickster guy is?" I asked looking at the door and trying to figure out how to open it.

"He seemed pretty ticked off that someone was besmirching his bad name," Joe said. There was a minute of a pause before Joe said something "Barry can we talk about Steve?" He asked. I tore my eyes away from the door and looked at Joe 

"What is there to talk about?" I asked still pissed off at Steve for keeping the investigating a secret from me

"I want you to know that I told Steve not to tell you when we investigated the house," Joe said

"He was also at my house my mother was murdered in?" I asked in disbelief

"Hey don't get angry at him for something I commanded him to do," Joe said. I huffed a breath then opened the door out of angry and froze in my spot hearing a ticking sound almost like a bomb. I quickly flashed Joe away from the area as the warehouse blew up. Joe and I looked at each other in shock before we made our way back to James. As we made our way through the building I notice an officer putting my dad in his cell. Joe was making his way to the cell when he noticed me going to my dad. I made my way towards my dad, I mean while I'm here might as well tell him about how close I am to get him out of this hell hole.

"Dad hey," I said to him

"Hey what are you doing here?" He asked me

"Uh, Joe, and I have some questions for an inmate about a bombing case. Dad, listen, I'm close. The man that put you in here... I'm getting close, closer than I've ever been," I said which made my dad very worried about me but at this moment I didn't care 

"Barry, we have talked about this," My dad sighed

"I know, and I'm done talking. You're not gonna pay for another man's crime anymore. Just hang in there, okay?" I said to him then sprinted off after a guard told me to move along leaving my dad confused and worried. Joe and I made our way to James' cell again 

"That storage space you sent us to was booby-trapped," Joe said

"You can never be too careful with your private things," James replied

"You were protecting nothing. Your secret stash was empty" I replied then felt my phone buzz. I look at it and saw the caller id 'Steve R.' I rolled my eyes and took the call anyway breaking away from the group "What do you want?" I asked

"I know you're still pissed but I got word from the Captain that you and Joe were heading off to a warehouse and it blew up I wanted to make sure you were okay," Steve said. I sighed

"Yeah we're fine we were able to get away from the blast safely we are interviewing the person who owned the warehouse" I replied

"Good um, that's all I wanted to call you for and say that...I'm sorry" Steve said sounding kind of heartbroken which broke my heart

"No no...it's...it's fine you were doing what you were told can't exactly get mad at you and Joe especially at Joe," I said and I could feel the smile from the other line

"Alright um I hope to see you again," Steve said I realized I haven't really spent any time with him work got in the way then me going back in time which actually erased those moments we hung out

"Yeah same.. uh I have to go now," I said. We bid goodbye and hung up. Only to have my phone ring again I answered it

"Cisco?" I asked

"Yo, this Trickster guy just posted a vlog. You gotta see this. I'm sending you the link right now," Cisco said then sent out a link. I regrouped with Joe and the Jedi Wannabe and clicked the link which redirected me to a video of the new Trickster. I placed it on the glass so James could see

" Denizens of Central City, or those of you who remain, welcome to Boom Day. I'm very proud to report that my first trick was an exploding success." The Trickster started "But I think you all deserve something much, uh, bigger" 

"No No No No Take off my mask you fraud!" James yelled angrily 

After that intense cussing and yelling towards the New Trickerster, Joe and I made our way back to S.T.A.R. Labs.

"This was posted a few hours ago," Cisco said

"Whoever this Trickster is, he's certainly not shy," Dr. Wells said

"Well, not every criminal likes to hide in the dark," I said then glanced at Wells 

"Cisco, can you trace where the video was posted from?" Joe asked breaking that 2-second awkward silence 

"I tried, but this guy is using some crazy Felicity-Tony Stark-caliber scrambler as I've never seen. The origin of the upload's coming from hundreds of different locations. Until he uploads another video, it's gonna be tough" Cisco said typing away

"Mr. Allen, A word please," Dr. Wells said and went into a private room. I rolled my eyes and huffed a breath. Great I walked in and kept my distance from him "I know what's going on with you. I know what you're thinking," Wells said. I sucked in a breath thinking he is onto me investigating him

"You do?" I asked calmly 

"I know going up to Iron Heights prison and conversing with Mr. Jesse has brought about feelings of your father. How could it not?" Wells asked. I kinda felt relieved 

"Yeah um...It's been tough knowing that my mom's killer is still out there," I said playing along

"Of course. But we'll find him, together. You have my word," Wells said with a soft smile almost...innocent

"Thank you," I said

"For now, how about we focus on finding this Trickster before anybody else gets hurt?" Wells asked. I nodded and looked at my phone seeing that Iris texted me 

"I have to go. Um thanks for the pep talk" I said 

"Always here for you," Wells said. I walked off with his last sentence burned in my head. 'Always here for you'  only if that was true...maybe I wouldn't be investigating him maybe he wouldn't be lying like he is right now.

Kind of a sucking area to stop at but I surpass 3,000 words which are normally my limit. I hope you all enjoyed this chapter votes and comments are welcome
