Hello everyone welcome to a new chapter today I hope you all are doing well and staying safe...

So...

*in Captain America's voice* well it happens, you know, you read a really nice chapter and it ends with a cliffhanger and you guys are starving for more.

Yes,

 I know the cliffhanger was probably frustrating not knowing what's going to happen next...if you haven't seen the series if you guys have seen the series and have been reading this book well then you already know what happens next and if that's the case then my cliffhanger wasn't really a cliffhanger.

But anyway enough with me torturing you,

Barry's Pov

I thought I was going to die not knowing that Stein swooped down and caught me before I landed on the van that could've killed me and gently placing me on the van, although the word gently wasn't in Stein's dictionary cause I slammed down hard on the van but not as hard as I expected. I sat up and looked at Caitlin and Dr. Wells

"Well, that was terrifying," I said. Dr. Wells and Caitlin huffed a breath in relief. I got off of the van and groaned in pain "Although my ass hurts" I said faking a laugh that caught the attention of Caitlin. I went silent and sniffled still having tears streaming down my face

"Barry, you okay?" Caitlin asked, I looked away not replying and she grabbed my face and took off my mask and looked at my tear-stained face "Those are not tears of fear and being nearly killed" She said. I couldn't help but let go some more tears

"What's wrong?" Caitlin asked worriedly 

"I called Steve earlier while waiting for you and Dr. Wells to send me an alert about Stein and...he....he hung up on he didn't even answer his phone," I said and Caitlin hugged me tightly

"I'm sorry," She said

Steve's Pov

I walked back inside after having a small break drowning in my guilt and regrets hanging up on Barry, Cisco was busy scanning the mirror for the images that possibly have all of the answers we have been looking for.  Joe walks into the room moments later sighing

"I sent Sherry to the movies," he said

"Trust me, the best show in town is going to be in here tonight," Cisco said 

"So you're telling me you can get actual photographs from this thing?" Joe asked pointing at Cisco tech.

"The science is solid. It works exactly like an old film camera. I developed the mirror backing, and fortunately for us, the lightning went off about ten times that night." Cisco explained which explains how the mirror will have the images.

"Multiple exposures," Joe said

"Now you're getting it. I went ahead and enhanced them digitally and, just for kicks, decided to extrapolate a 3-D hologram from the original 2-D." Cisco said, damn this kid is so smart, if Tony was here he would be so proud and still will complain how Cisco tried to hack into his suit which not going to lie I couldn't stop laughing at that.

"Cisco" Joe said giving him the go-ahead sign

"Lights...camera...action" Cisco said. Joe flicked off the lights and Cisco turned on the machine. What I saw changed everything, I gasped at the sight of Barry's mother sitting there on the ground in horror, defenseless and was surrounded by lightning those speedsters. 

"Poor Nora," Joe said looking at the woman. I looked at her and saw where Barry gets his pretty appearances from. I watched every frame and noticed something odd with the wallpaper

"Um, Detective West is that wallpaper new?" I asked pointing at it

"Yes...it is," he said and walked over there. I tore part of the wallpaper and saw a spot of blood

"Oh, man is that blood?" Cisco asked

"We had a husband who was holding the same weapon that killed his wife. We weren't looking for any other suspects. That blood belongs to one of the two speedsters that were here that night." Joe said

"I'll go grab my kit," Cisco said and ran out. I stood there in shocked

"Alright this might take a while to test the blood might take a day so I'll call you tomorrow I know you want to end this person once and for all...I really do as well this has gone on for a very long time and I want this to just end" Joe suggested and I nodded 

"Thank you, Detective West," I said and walked out not saying another word and went home. 

Barry's Pov (bouncing between these two again sorry everyone) 

I flashed to Iris's working place to talk to Iris about what happened last night with Steve. I saw Iris messing with a bunch of papers. I approached her

"Hey Iris," I said sounding bummed

"Hey, Barry" Iris greeted me with a smile then looked at me which made her smile disappear "Why do you have bags under your eyes? Did you not sleep well last night?" She asked. 

"Y-yeah dealt with uh the Burning Man and...getting hung up on Steve," I said and Iris slammed her papers down in angry 

"He did what now?" She asked. I looked down

"I tried calling him last night to hear his voice and he hung up on me," I said. Iris looked at me with a pissed off look on her face which I gotta admit scares me you never want an angry Iris on your hands she can get out of control. After Iris was done cussing up a storm over Steve she finally took a seat next to me and sighed calmly down

"Barry, do you really think he's the one?" Iris asked which made hesitate...Is Steve the one? Is he the one guy I have searched for in years? I always felt like I am the princess waiting for her prince to show and the prince finally shows up and marries her in the end but for me, I finally found my prince but instead of marrying him right away I am being...hesitant. I sighed not knowing how to answer Iris's question. "Barry I know you like this guy but after what he did to you twice...first rejecting you then hanging up on you is he the one Barry?"

"I...I don't know Iris" I replied 'I mean I get it he blew it twice with me but I just...can't let him go like that I mean Steve said he is doing an investigation and doesn't want me involved," I said shrugging

"An investigation of what? To see how to hurt someone's feelings?" Iris asked which made me chuckle

"No what he told me sounds serious," I said and Iris nodded 

"Alright fine but I am not going to promise you to not yell at him the next time I see him," Iris said

"Noted," I said with a slight laugh. I felt my phone buzzed. I looked at it and sighed "Work stuff" I said

"You mean superhero stuff?" She asked I looked at her "Barry you don't have to use that excuse anymore I know your secret" She smiled. I smiled back

"Yeah...Superhero stuff" I said

"Go save the city Flash," Iris said.

Steve's Pov

I got a call from Joe asking me to stop by CCPD and discuss the whole blood we found. I dreaded going to CCPD because that is where Barry works and I know he doesn't even want to see me and talk to me because of what I did last night but when I showed up I didn't see Barry anywhere...must be his day off. I ran upstairs to Barry's lab where Cisco was using the machines

"Hey, what do we have so far?" I asked them

"I just told Joe that we have two different blood samples one for each speedster," Cisco said happily like he was very close to identifying the man. This is the day where I find out if Wells is Eobard somehow or if it's someone else and Wells is working for him. I walked towards them. Cisco then said he figured out the two samples by looking at the blood types which he said he was going to look on the CCPD Database.

"Can you run them against a specific person?" Joe asked

"Yeah, sure, if we have something to match it to." Cisco said, "Who are we looking at?" He asked

"Dr. Harrison Wells" Joe and I said at the same time which caused Cisco to look up at us like we are insane

"I thought we were trying to solve Barry's mom's murder," Cisco said

"We are," I said 

"And I'm asking you to keep this between us," Joe said

"You think Dr. Wells killed Barry's mom? No way. He didn't even know Barry then. Why would he kill his mom?" Cisco asked in disbelief over the accusation we made.

"We don't know but Tony pointed out how Wells is and what Wells said about the video Reverse-Flash sent out that threaten Pepper after taking down Peek-A-Boo...Wells didn't know about the video only Reverse, Tony and I" I said. Joe looked at me and so did Cisco

"Wait...I remember seeing Captain America there with us bot you" Cisco said looking at me suspiciously I sighed 

"Well, I haven't been exactly truthful with any of you," I said and opened my shirt showing off my Captain America costume which caused Cisco to gasp but Joe kept a straight face like he isn't shocked "The real reason Tony was here was that S.H.E.I.L.D wants Reverse-Flash so my boss...well use to be boss Nick Fury assigned me and Tony to track down this person and bring him in," I said

"Wait so you've been lying to us...to Barry about being Captain America? wow...Caitlin was right, one day Caitlin went to me and told me about how you came to Central City along with Captain America after a falling out with Tony Stark who happens to be Iron Man...and yet I told Caitlin for once that she was wrong and that Steve was just some guy that Barry met on the train and you revealed your identity to me and Joe who doesn't look shocked at all...my question is why now?" Cisco asked

"I only have this face is because I already knew and nothing really surprises me anymore," Joe said

"I am telling you this now because it was Tony and I who started this investigation against your boss and...can't believe what I am about to say but I trust Tony's instincts, the moment the investigation started was the moment Tony pointed out Wells and I didn't believe him after I thought he wanted to take down another rich person like he tried to do with the Queen  Family but after what Well said about the video...either Wells is the man who murders Barry's mother or Wells is working with him somehow" I explained which caused Cisco to scoffed

"Cisco you have to think about it," Joe said agreeing with me

"No, look I have known Wells for years without him there wouldn't even be a Cisco Ramon, he'll just be nothing I finally put my skills to the test and Wells hired me right on the spot and just for him to turn around and kill barry's mother who Wells didn't even know Barry at the time? I'm sorry but I am pretty sure your station has these things called proof if you have proof that Wells did it then sure I'll be on your side but all I see is a Detective desperate to find justice for Nora Allen and a man who lied about his life since he got here" Cisco said and stormed out. I looked at Joe

"I have a feeling Cisco knows what we are talking about, he's smart he knows something is off he'll come around," Joe said to me. I nodded, I caught Joe staring at my costume

"So you knew about me being Captain America?" I asked

"Yeah it was pretty obvious but my question is, are you ever going to tell Barry?" Joe asked. 

"I don't really know maybe after this investigation is over I am thinking about telling him my secret just not right now I don't want him involved in any of this because I don't want him getting hurt...I don't know if I'll live with myself if I hurt him again" I said looking down "Well I think your son hates me to be honest...he tried calling me last night and instead of picking up the phone and talk to him I clicked...ignore" I said

"You practically hung up on my son?" Joe asked I nodded in response "First you rejected him now you didn't answer his call...to be honest, I would've done the same if I was investigating a murder that dealt with someone that I love" Joe said who surprisingly didn't seem angry, he probably would have if I didn't reveal my identity "Especially as a superhero, Steve, you are a great guy I knew the moment I met you, you were going to be Barry's one...the one Barry has been searching for all of these years I trust you to not hurt him to one point he has given up you have a good heart inside and that is what I admire, once this is all over I expect to see Barry trying on different suits yet again for his date" Joe said and I chuckled slightly 

"Alright...Detective West I'll try my best to not hurt your son" I said

"Good cause if you do, you maybe be a Star Spangle person with a strong shield but you aren't bulletproof," Joe said. 

3rd Person POV

While the two superheroes are dealing with their love crisis, Caitlin had tracked down Stein who was living under the bridge. While Stein and Barry were flying in the air Barry manage to put a tracker on Stein so Caitlin can track down Stein. Caitlin was accompanied by Stein's wife, Clarrissa, both women found Stein under the bridge. Stein was shocked to see his wife and that his wife was able to see Stein and not Ronnie. 

While Caitlin was bringing Stein back to S.T.A.R Labs, Clarrisa brought up something that can split them apart and Stein thinks if they can find some sort of technology that can help split them apart. Caitlin was taking Stein's temperature when her and Stein got into a deep conversation about Ronnie, Stein mentioned a certain place that Ronnie propose to her. Even though Stein was in Ronnie's body and that it is Stein and not Ronnie, Stein can feel what Ronnie is feeling, he was currently feeling what Ronnie was feeling which was missing Caitlin. Caitlin was called away by Dr. Wells and told her something that would change everything

"Ronnie's body is rejecting Stein's atoms like a host rejecting a parasite. The resulting instability is causing an exothermic reaction. I worry if his temperature continues to rise, it'll set off a chain reaction." Wells explained looking at the monitors

"And what happens?" Caitlin asked being worried

"He'll go nuclear," Wells said The Wells explained how Ronnie's body is reacting after the fight with Barry which is creating a dangerous amount of fusion, Wells gave Caitlin roughly a couple of hours if Stein's temperature keeps rising and becoming unstable. 

Barry's Pov

I flashed back to S.T.A.R. Labs after dealing with a bunch of calls about robberies which I thought Captain America had a handle on but he hasn't even shown up at all this is the second day that I haven't seen Captain. Even the police are questioning his whereabouts. I walked in and saw someone sitting on the medical bed I am guessing Caitlin finally found Stein and brought him here. 

Hey sorry, um can I get you anything" I asked

"A glass of Chateau Haut-Brion Pessac-Leognan 1982 might be nice. Or maybe it wouldn't. This body's taste buds would obviously be different from my own. Perhaps I'm now a light beer man" Stein sighed which caused me to chuckle. Stein looked at me "I remember seeing you on the train, we didn't actually sit there and have a normal conversation because you were busy hung up on the blond guy sitting next to you" Stein said talking about Steve which caused my smile to disappear

"Yeah I remember, Steve, the blond guy you saw, he was new in town and I was explaining to him about S.T.A.R. Labs...before the explosion that caused me to go into my coma, I promised him I would take him to go sightseeing in Central City" I explained remembering that day like it was yesterday

"Well that was months ago, are you two together now?" Stein asked and I shook my head

"I don't even know if I will have him as my boyfriend," I said

"Well remember this Kid, life is too short if I was you I wouldn't care what stops you from being happy if this man truly makes you happy you go to him no matter what the risks are, hearing about this man he sounds like he is a type of guy who is afraid of taking risks, either a bad relationship made him that way or there is more to him that you don't know all I know is that you need to take that risk and be with him and have overcome that fear you just need to push a little harder over your limit to grab his attention," Stein said that has to be the best advice that was given to me 

"You know for a man who has won the Conway Prize three times you make a great love counselor" I joked 

"It's call speaking from the heart," Stein said. I excused myself from Stein after talking about science and...Einstein, I decided to go to Caitlin who was worried about the possibility of losing Ronnie all over again. Wells came in holding some sort of weird-looking tech and explained that they can make some sort of splicer out of it.

A few minutes later we were finished with the splicer. I looked around for the Stein

"I'll get Professor Stein," I said and Cisco stormed in here

"Looking for the professor? Yeah, he's gone." Cisco said, Caitlin quickly went to the computer to try and track him as Wells added some additional things to the splicer

" I found Stein. He's in the Badlands. Middle of nowhere, 30 miles outside of Central City." Caitlin said

"Minimum safe distance. He's sacrificing himself. How much time does he have left?" Cisco asked

"About 12 minutes," Caitlin said 

"Done" Wells announced

"What is it?" I asked putting on my suit

"This is a Quantum Splicer," Wells said handing it to me

"Will it work to separate them?" Cisco asked

"We'll know in 12 minutes," I said 

"Now, Barry, even you can't outrun a nuclear blast, so you get this device to Professor Stein, and you get out of there as fast as you can." I nodded and was about to flash off when Caitlin grabbed me

"What are you doing?" I asked her

"I'm going with you," She said

"No, you're not. It's too dangerous!" Wells shouted

"Barry doesn't know how to operate the splicer. Cisco's gonna talk me through it." Caitlin said to him and went to me I tried to back her away but she wouldn't budge

"There's not enough time. Let's go." Caitlin said. I grabbed her and flashed off to the location. 

3rd Person Pov

As Barry flashed Caitlin to save Stein, there was a weird beeping sound that alerted Cisco, the testing was done and Cisco saw the results which caused him to turn pale

"What was that?" Wells asked that caught his attention

"Uh, comm system's on the fritz. I'll be right back." Cisco said and closed it out before walking out and dialing Joe's number

Joe, who was still with Steve heard his phone ring and quickly picked it up "Cisco" He said excusing himself from Steve to go to a private area.

"I'm not proud of it, but I ran the samples. One wasn't identified, and the other had a match." Cisco said slightly panicking

"Cisco, you're hesitating. Was it Wells?" Joe asked

"No, it's not Dr. Wells. I told you, he has nothing to do with this." Cisco said "But I know whose blood it is. It's Barry" Cisco said which caused Joe to look confused which caught the attention of Steve but Steve couldn't hear what Joe was saying

"We already know Barry was there that night," Joe said 

"No, no, no, no, no, no, no. You don't understand. The sample had high levels of P16. That's a protein that builds up in the blood as we get older. And these levels were way too high for an 11-year-old. This sample was from Barry as an adult." Cisco said which cause Joe to freeze in his spot

Meanwhile, Barry and Caitlin showed up to where Stein was who was holding a gun to his head

"Professor Stein!" Barry called out 

"What are you doing here? You can't be here! Get her out of here now!" Stein yelled

"Please, look, Ronnie's still in there somewhere," Caitlin begged

"All those people... Clarissa... I won't let them die! It's better I end this now." Stein said about to pull the trigger

"We can separate you! We can stop the explosion." Barry yelled which caused Stein to lower the gun

"How?" He asked

"A Quantum Splicer. It's a fission device designed to bombard your atoms with as much energy as they experienced in the particle accelerator explosion. It should be enough to separate you. Please, Professor, you have nothing left to lose." Barry said. Caitlin puts the device on Stein, she looked up at Stein in tears

"Ronnie, if you're in there, I love you," Caitlin said. Without even thinking Stein kissed Caitlin which caused an awkward situation between Stein, Barry, and Caitlin

"That was from him," Stein said. Caitlin pushed the button on the splicer

"I look forward to meeting you in person, Professor," Barry said. A few seconds later the device started to act up causing Stein to become unstable completely

"It's not working," Stein said

"He's not gonna make it. He's gonna blow" Wells said through coms "Get out of there now! Barry, get out of there now!

"No...no," Caitlin said as Barry picked her up 

"We have to go," Barry said and sped off just as Stein blew up causing a massive nuclear explosion. Barry kept running and running feeling the mushroom cloud right behind him he kept running and running. 

As the Nuclear explosion went off, far from the area it alerted the Army

"Sir, we have a thermonuclear detonation approximately 30 miles northeast of Central City." The man said to the general which caused the general to smirk

"Deploy the RAP response team, Sergeant." The general commanded and the Sergeant called his men to go out "Bring me Firestorm." The general said

Please don't hate me I forgot in the series the episode 1x13 had a cliffhanger
