Hello everyone and welcome to a new chapter today, I am just spoiling you guys with new chapters almost every day well that's what happens when you are on summer break but next month updates will be slow, I still want to use my summer break to study for the SATs that I am supposed to take once the next school year starts idk if I will I am set to take it in September but my teachers aren't too sure with the date especially with everything that is going on with the virus so it's not set in stone but I still want to practice and study just to be safe.

Now I am doing something a little different in the next few chapters I will not talk about what's going to happen in the chapter and I will keep the author note very short so I am not taking up too many words. So with that,

Barry's Pov

"This is a bullet wound. You're lucky it just barely broke the skin." Caitlin said looking at the wound at the back of my neck

"Guess I'm a lot faster than a speeding bullet," I said then sighed 

"Shawna Baez. She can teleport," Dr. Wells' voice came in

"As in 'beam me up, Shawna'?" Caitlin asked 

"Yes of course," I said "I also understood that reference," I said looking at Caitlin 

"Quantum entanglement, The ability to manipulate interconnected particles over an infinite distance. Or, as Einstein put it, 'spooky action at a distance.' "  Dr. Wells explained

"Every time Cap and I got close she would...Disappear. It was like we were playing a game of-" I started

"Peek-A-Boo," Caitlin said and I looked at her weird "Come on. Can't I name one?" She asked

"How am I supposed to catch her if I don't know where she's gonna be?" I asked

"Everybody has limits, Mr. Allen. Now that we know Shawna's powers, we'll focus on those limits." Dr. Wells said and I nodded. Dr. Wells then started to head out

"Alright, let me know, I got to change and help Iris," I said and walked off. I sped around the city and flashed towards CCPD and saw Eddie and Iris walking together. 

"Hey Barry" Eddie greeted me with a sweet smile

"Hi, Detective Pretty boy- i-i- meant ahem...Eddie" I said clearing my throat. Well, that was embarrassing. Eddie chuckled 

"Hey, what are you doing here? Shouldn't you be out and I don't know taking Steve's 'coffee date' offer?" Iris asked. I went silent and eyes went wide. I...forgot about my coffee date with Steve. 

"oh- uh well I thought I'd see if you wanted help writing your story for the paper," I said scratching the back of my neck slightly. Oh, cool my wound healed. 

"Oh, that is so sweet. I would love to, but we were about to have dinner with Eddie's mom tonight. " Iris said

"And we're late," Eddie said

"Can we do it another night?" Iris asked

"Oh yeah, of course, have fun you two," I said and Iris smiled

"You can use your free time and..go on that date" Iris suggested

"Yeah of course" I replied smiling and the two cute couple walked off. I chewed on my lip nervously feeling like an idiot for forgetting about my coffee date with Steve. Well, it's too late now, Jitters is closed for the night and the movie theatres are packed because new movies are playing. I stood there and thought...how about a bar night. I grabbed my phone and called Caitlin

"Hey" I heard her on the other line

"What bars did Shawna and Clay frequent?" I asked 

"Uh, mostly south side dive bars. Why?" She asked

"I was just gonna check 'em out. See if they fall into any old habits." I said 

"That's a good idea. I'll join you." She said

"Alright I'll meet you there I'm going to invite Steve," I said and hung up before dialing Steve's number.

Steve's Pov

"Is Tony okay at least?" I asked Fury on the computer. Since I didn't hear back from Tony I decided to contact Fury and tell him what happened

"He said he is fine but he is done with the missions I give to him," Fury said and I nodded. Good he and Pepper are okay

"..What did Eobard say in the video?" Fury asked

"He said that if Tony doesn't stop investigating into him he'll kill Pepper," I said remembering the video clear as day

"Alright well then since Tony called off the mission I am having you take over," Fury said. I looked at him.

"Eobard is unstoppable Fury, after what I saw in that video, seeing Eobad almost killing Pepper and seeing Tony almost have a heart attack I couldn't help but think what if this man goes after Barry the same man who killed his mother years ago, what if he goes after him and I can't protect him because he is faster than me?" I asked "I mean I already told Tony that I'll team up with The Flash if I have to but what if he has someone in his life he doesn't want to lose? I'm sorry Fury but Eobard is unstoppable and dangerous I have to let him go again and find some sort of weak spot on him before taking him down cause if I don't I'll be like The Flash that night during his encounter with Eobard, I'll run in blind" I explained. Fury sat there in silence then nodded

"Okay then, Captain America if you really want to that then I can't stop you but if someone dies at the hands of Eobard and you had all that time to stop him then their blood will be in your hands." Fury said and ended the call. I closed my laptop angrily and sighed and placed my hands on my face. I heard my phone buzzed and saw who was calling. I answered

"Hey, Barry what's up?" I asked

"Hey uh I know I missed that coffee...thingy with you but I just have a question," Barry said

"Yeah?" I asked

"Does it have to be just coffee?" He asked

"No It doesn't have to be, why do you have something else in mind?" I asked cocking an eyebrow in interest

"I actually do, I am working on a case with my friends and I found a bar that the criminals love to hang out with so Caitlin and I are going to that bar in case they show up and I was wondering i-i-if you would like to join us?" Barry asked. I smiled at that offer I could use a drink after with everything that has happened

"Sure Barry just give me a location and I'll be there," I said. After Barry told me the address I quickly got dressed. I was having difficulties figuring out which outfit I should wear, should I go for all black? or something casual with the brown leather jacket that he got me for Christmas? I decided to go for something casually which was a grey shirt, jeans, and jacket. I quickly headed out and drove to the bar. 

I walked into the bar and looked around it was a nice bar it had karaoke and comedies with an open bar and a dine-in. 

"Hey Steve over here" I heard Barry's voice call me over. I smiled widely seeing him, I made my way over there 

"Hey Barry," I said then looked at Caitlin "Hello" I greeted her

"HI" She greeted back, not gonna lie she really nice today but not as nice as Barry, who was wearing a blue shirt and black pants. I sat next to Barry I started to talk to Barry's friend, Caitlin when I noticed Barry staring

"What?" I asked him smiling

"Uh, well, you look... really nice," Barry said with a slight blush I chuckled

"Thank you, you look nice yourself," I said smirking 

"So, this is where Shawna Baez and Clay Parker used to hang out?" Barry asked Caitlin who was finishing her drink

"It is, according to the files," Caitlin said

"Are you two talking about the criminals who broke into Iron Heights?" I asked and barry nodded

"So, Steve, you lived in Brooklyn correct?" Caitlin asked

"Yep Born and raised there," I said smiling

"What made you move here?" Caitlin asked I remember when Barry asked me that question

"Well, as you know I was friends with Tony Stark, yes the same man who was at Wells' place and teamed up with Flash and Captain America him and I had a falling out and so I moved here and the reason he was here was that..." I trailed not knowing what else I should say, I was going to tell them that he was here investigating into Eobard but I don't want Barry to start asking questions and go into the case and put his life in danger. "Because he wanted to fix things and get me back into New York with him but we had another falling out and that's why he left," I said covering my own tracks

"Oh,  well that's weird, you had a falling out with Tony and so did Captain America," Caitlin said looking at me like she was trying to figure me out

"Ah well, Tony is...not really a most likable guy I should know I remember him not shutting up about Oliver Queen owing him money," I said sighing and hearing Barry snicker about Oliver

"Hmm I'm just saying it's all a weird coincidence, you and Stark hating each other, Captain America and Stark hating each other, you moving here to Central City and Captain America decided to move here as well," Caitlin said. Barry and I looked at Caitlin weird, I gave her a look like 'if you know my secret don't tell' "But there's always a weird coincidence every day" Caitlin said chuckling and ordering another drink. I huffed a breath thinking Caitlin figured me out and was about to tell Barry. 

The Night went on and I miscounted how many drinks Caitlin has ordered. I saw Barry at the open bar area and decided to go over there

"Your friend Caitlin is drinking so much while you're not...even drinking alcohol," I said

"Ah well, I'm the designated driver so have no choice," Barry said 

"Oh Barry, I can always find a way to take you and Caitlin home," I said

"No, no Steve it's fine I am not really in the mood to drink and besides I don't think you could ever handle a drunken me," Barry said

"Oh I bet I can," I said smirking

"I can be a flirt and probably make a move," Barry said

"And I won't stop you," I said and Barry looked at me I think I said something wrong but Barry smirked in response I cleared my throat. Barry tried to wave the bartender down 

"Oh my god the bartenders are assholes," Barry said and I laughed. "Excuse me! Can I get a wat- for real!" Barry yelled seeing the bartender walk past him again. I tried to wave the bartender down when Caitlin's voice came on the microphone

"Mr. Barry Allen! Come on down!" Caitlin yelled, oh god she's drunk. Barry stood there all embarrassed I couldn't help but laugh at Barry's embarrassed expression. Barry shook his head at Caitlin "Come up here with me. Oh, come show 'em what you got. Come on." Caitlin said 

"Oh god," Barry said embarrassed then Caitlin started to chant barry's name along with everyone else I looked at Barry

"Go up there Barry it's fine," I said to him hoping to calm his nerves Barry didn't budge so I started to chant his name.

"Steve why?" He asked

"I owed you coffee now you owe me a song to sing," I said smirking mischievously and Barry decided to go up there. A song started to play, I recognized the song and started to laugh

"♪ Summer lovin' ♪ ♪ Had me a blast ♪ ♪ Summer lovin' happened so fast ♪" Caitlin sang off-key which sounded horrible. I saw Barry gave her a weird look before he started to sing

"I met a girl ♪ ♪ crazy for me ♪ ♪ I met a boy cute as can be ♪ ♪ Summer days driftin' away ♪" Barry sang, he looked at me once he sang the 'boy cute as can be' which made me blushed. I couldn't help but get lost in his beautiful singing voice 

"To uh-oh those summer nights ♪ ♪ Uh well-a well-a well-a uh ♪" They both sang I laughed at Caitlin acting all crazy.

After the song ended an embarrassed Barry came towards me and looked at me "Not a word" he said I chuckled

"One word, amazing," I said to him grinning and he huffed a breath. Caitlin came over and drank another cup which I don't think that was hers

"Uh" Barry and I trailed

"I'm not even sure if that was mine" Caitlin slurred then excused herself to the bathroom.

"So a Forensic scientist that knows how to sing what can't you do?" I asked Barry

"Stop Caitlin from drinking apparently," He said I chuckled

" Where did you get that talent from?" I asked him barry sighed

"I was in some sort of club that dealt with singing," Barry said then turned red "I also tried for the football team... I don't even want to go there" he said feeling embarrassed I couldn't help but feel bad so I decided to tell him something that I thought it was embarrassing

"I never looked this muscular before," I said to him and he looked at me like he didn't believe me "Before I joined the Army I..was skinny very skinny and short it fact the army didn't want me to join in fact they exempted me but I kept pushing and pushing to join because I wanted to be alongside with my friend Bucky so they helped me become...this person I am today," I said

"You never told me you joined the military," Barry said

"There are a lot of things you don't know about me," I said with a slight smile

"I can say the same about myself," Barry said and waved down the bartender again "Can I close my tab- okay he walked away," He said. I whistled at the bartender to get his attention

"Can my friend here tap out?" I asked him and the bartender nodded moments later Caitlin came out

"Barry" She trailed

"Yeah," He asked 

"I don't feel so good," Caitlin said

"Shit okay come on," He said and grabbed Caitlin and quickly went outside. I decided to follow outside and saw Caitlin vomiting, oh poor girl. Barry rubbed her back

"Is she going to be okay?" I asked

"Yeah but I have to take her home," Barry said

"Need a lift?" I asked him

"Nah her place isn't that far, um I'll text you tomorrow?" He asked and I smiled

"Of course call or text me if you ever want to hang out again, this was fun," I said climbing onto my bike and started it up. I waved at Barry good-bye before heading off back home.

Barry's Pov

I flashed Caitlin home after she was done throwing up. 

"Are we still running?" She asked

"No we are here," I said setting her down

"Vodka and super speed, not a good combination," She said and stumbled "So did you and Steve kiss?" She asked

"What- no we just talked," I said kinda wishing we did

"You let him slip right through your fingers because you think you don't deserve happiness," Caitlin said and started to take off her dress. I quickly looked away feeling uncomfortable, not that type of undressing I was hoping to see tonight. "But what you don't realize is, you need a little saving, too." She said and huffed a breath "Little help please" She said I turned and looked at her still feeling uncomfortable

"Uh yeah," I said and flashed her out the dress and into her nightclothes, again, something I didn't want to do tonight...with Caitlin

"There you go again. Saving me from that evil dress." She said

"Get into bed," I said slightly tired of her. She climbed into bed "Drink lots of water" I said

"Thanks for tonight Barry, I sang" She grinned and I smiled back. I was about to leave when she spoke "hey barry can you stay here until I fell asleep?" She asked. I smiled and sat by her 

"Sure," I said and sat there. It didn't take long for her to fall asleep, I flashed out as soon as I heard a loud snore from her. I flashed back home and hit the bed.

What a fun night.

~The next morning~

I stood in S.T.A.R. Labs with a cup of coffee in my hand and was waiting for a hungover Caitlin to show up. When she finally showed up she was wearing glasses and a scarf

"Hi," I said

"Oh- so loud," She said getting startled by my voice

"I just wanted to make sure you're okay," I said smiling

"Let's just say I envy your inability to get drunk. I don't remember much from last night." She said

"Yeah, that's probably for the best." I said then smirked "♪ Summer lovin' ♪" I started and Caitlin cringed

"Oh, God. That I do remember" She said and I laughed. We walked into the lab and saw Cisco sitting there silently and Dr. Wells was by him. It looked like Cisco got into trouble.

"What's wrong?" I asked

"Cisco... Has something he needs to tell you" Dr. Wells said

"Hartley's gone," Cisco said

"He escaped from the Pipeline? How is that even possible?" I asked

"I let him out," Cisco said which caused me to get angry

"Are you mad?!" I yelled at him

"I'd like to yell and wave my arms, but I'm afraid I'd throw up," Caitlin said 

"What were you thinking?! You know how dangerous he is." I yelled. Cisco then explained why he let Hartley go, he said hartley explained what actually happened to Ronnie, Caitlin's fiancee which actually sounded like a lead. Cisco then explained that he sealed off the doors during the explosion which caused Ronnie to blow up.  I stood there in silence not knowing what to say.

"Do you know what Ronnie would say if he was here? He would say that you did the right thing. It wasn't your fault. What happened that night wasn't anybody's fault." Caitlin said which caused Cisco look down. I saw Dr. Wells look away "Come on, don't we have a teleporter to catch?" She asked. As they talked about how Shawna has to see where she is going before teleporting my phone rang. I answered.

"Hello?" I asked. I gasped as I was told about something that caused me to panic "What! yeah I'll be right there" I said slightly panicked and hung up

"What's wrong?" Dr. Wells asked

"M-m-my dad, he was stabbed," I said then flashed off to Iron Heights. When I walked in my dad was on the hospital bed and Joe was standing there. I huffed a breath seeing that my dad was okay "Dad... What happened?" I asked

"A rather stern reminder, I'd say, not to poke around Marcus Stockheimer's business." My dad replied

"Dad I told you to stop" I said slightly hurt that he broke a promise

"Your dad called me with more intel. It helped us track down Clay and Shawna and arrest Stockheimer. I managed to screw up Marcus's big heist, too, so..." Joe trailed

"You two kept working together, and you didn't tell me?" I asked slightly pissed at Joe

"It isn't his fault." My dad said "I did it to help you" 

"You getting stabbed and beaten is not helping me." I spat slightly

"Look, I... I... I don't get to feel useful very much in here. So if I can help you for a change, I'm gonna want to be there for you. Just like you've been there for me all these years." My dad said which caused me to sigh

"You said Marcus had a big heist coming up?" Joe asked and My dad nodded

"Do you know anything else about it?" Joe asked I wasn't entirely focused on that I looked at my dad

"Dad who stabbed you?" I asked

"No, it doesn't matter, slugger." He said

"But you said you want to help me. So help me." I said to him which caused him to sigh

"One of Marcus's boys. Julius," he said. After a long talk, I raced out of the room and contacted S.T.A.R. Labs and told them to contact Captain America. I flashed to Julius's cell and grabbed him and went outside and saw Captain America. (A/N: changed the scene, of course, I know it was supposed to be Joe with Barry but why not make it Captain America) 

"What the hell?" he asked looking around

"Evening, Julius." Captain America said

"How did I get out here?" He asked

"You escaped," I said

"They catch me trying to escape, they're gonna add five years to my sentence," He said

"Ten actually, Unless you tell me where Marcus Stockheimer's next job is gonna be," I said

"Oh! Guards will be here any second. I'd start blabbing." Captain said

"Okay! Okay. It's a TDK and money transfer truck coming from the federal reserve bank in St. Louis. Supposed to be millions. Delivery is around 8:00. That's all I know. I swear." Julius said

"That's right now," Captain said and looked at me "Let's go," he said and I grabbed him and flashed off to his bike which he quickly got on and zoomed off with me leaving Julius getting caught by the police. When we got to the location we saw Shawna and her boyfriend Clay starting to pack up. I interrupted them. I fought with Shawna while Captain fought with Clay.

"Flash, remember: she cannot teleport if she cannot see. Limit her field of vision" Dr. Wells said through coms. I heard grunting sounds and Captain got knocked down and got shot out, Captain used his shield to deflect the bullets, Clay then got into the car and left the area, leaving Shawna was now on the ground because I used something to stop her from teleporting. Captain and I went back to S.T.A.R. Labs and saw Shawna trying to teleport out of the cell.

"Is there any way she can teleport out of this?" Captain asked

"It's impossible. It's one-way glass. It's mirrored on the inside. No one dangerous is ever gonna get out of this thing again." Dr. Wells said and looked at Captain "hmm No Tony Stark?" He asked

"He left town, went back to New York after something...happened with Pepper," He said I looked 

"Hmm, such a shame I almost miss the guy," Dr. Wells said. I notice Captain looking at Wells weird

"Shawna. Clay left you. He's out there, and you're in here" I said to her which caused her to stop

"You know what the crazy thing is? I still love him." Shawna said. Captain walked off and Dr. Wells followed him leaving me, Cisco, and Caitlin alone.

Steve's Pov

I took a deep breath as I walked out of the area, pipeline as the team calls it. I also looked around the place. S.T.A.R. Labs looks pretty nice I remember catching a glimpse of this place when I brought The Flash in after he got injuries bad.

"Leaving already?" I heard Wells behind me

"Yeah," I said 

"Alright then, also if you get into contact with Stark again tell him I wish him well," Wells said I nodded

"Of course," I said "But he cut communications," I said I felt a breeze blow past me and saw a streak run out of the room, I guess Flash has another mission or is heading home for the night. I smiled to myself

"Hmm the video really must've scared him away," Wells said then wheeled away. I nodded then froze. I looked around trying to find Dr. Wells but he was gone.

I never mentioned a video...Nor told anyone but Fury about the video.

Tony was right. Either Wells is Eobard or he is working with Eobard.

3rd Person Pov

As Barry ran around the city he found Iris in the alleyway waiting for him. Barry gave Iris some papers.

"That's for you," Barry said looking around then taking off his flash mask, "I thought maybe you could help me out if you're willing. This is about the breakout at Iron Heights. Clay Parker. He's still on the loose, and we need to catch him" He said

"Why are you giving this to me Barry?" She asked him

"'Cause you're a good reporter. And the only one I know and besides you are the only reporter I know that knows my secret. I figure we can work together, while you write about me and Cap to get your boss to shut up, you can also investigate things I send to you" Barry said and Iris nodded

"Thank you Barry, now go before people notice," Iris said. Barry puts on his mask and flashed off.  Not knowing Iris took a picture of him "You're not the only one whos fast and you never told me you wear lipgloss" Iris chuckled looking at the photo she took of her brother. Barry decided to go to his dad to see how he's doing. Barry's father looked at Barry as he held a magazine of a close up picture of The Flash. Barry mentally cursed at himself at the fact his lipgloss he was wearing smeared slightly and also reminded himself to yell at iris was taking a picture of him without his permission. Barry's father started to figure out that his son is acting the Flash just like how he figured out his sexuality before Barry did. But his father won't call him out he'll wait for him to tell him himself just like how he told his dad that he's gay. 

As the day went on, Steve was at work doing his shift, on his break, Steve went this laptop and started to do research on Wells. Steve decided to do his own mission and keep it a secret from anyone he is close to that includes Iris, Flash, Flash's team, Joe and Barry. Whatever information he finds on Wells that looks suspicious he sent it off to Fury. Meanwhile, in the sewers, two workers were walking around inspecting the place to see any leaks or exposed wires when they heard a growl behind them

"Whoa, what was that?"One worker asked then the other worker got dragged away. he screamed in horror as the first worker tried to run off but got tackled down by something. Before the worker took his last breath he heard a growl with a few words in between

"Grodd," It said
