Hello everyone and welcome to a new chapter. I hope you guys are doing well today. Today just got good, I just earned an honor roll from my school my second honor this year. So I'm pretty happy today :)

So I just uploaded my Take A Closer Look chapter just a few minutes ago and I decided to multi-task I am coloring in my artworks and typing this up because that's how I roll :D I am amazing when it comes to multi-tasking.

Anyways, in today's chapter, a new metahuman is threatening Central City, Steve is still struggling to accept that there is a superhero speedster saving the city, Barry notices a new thing going on with his body making Joe, Caitlin, Cisco, and Dr. Wells concern. So basically I am adding Season 1 Episode 2 in this book but it isn't going accordingly to the series or the episode so if any Flash fans who read this book/chapter notice different scenes and decide to comment "uh that's not what happens in the series" this is a fanfiction book so I can add whatever I want, like I can make it where Oliver and Clint meet and they date *an idea pops in my head* hmmm.

Barry's Pov

I was in my lab testing out the evidence we found at the crime scene when Iris came in wearing a dress.

"This is all your fault. I could have taken European folklore to cover my sociology requirement but no you said 'take journalism Iris, reporters have all of the fun' guess what, Barry? Reporters have none of the fun, Journalism is boring I'm bored. I blame you" Iris complained. I laughed and shook my head then I looked over and saw Iris

"You look nice" I completed her and she smiled and said thanks

"Why don't you look nice?" She asked me I gave her a weird look "This afternoon? Suit and tie?" She asked me. I gave her a look like it didn't ring any bells "The university is giving Simon Stagg some big award and you agreed -"

"To explain the science stuff for your article." I said  finishing her sentence "It's all coming back to me now." I said

"How fast can you get home and change?" She asked me. I snicker and laugh

"Pretty fast" I said. 

"Hey Allen" I heard Eddie's voice coming towards me. "Joe asked me to see where you're at on the evidence from the gun store shooting- oh hey Iris." Eddie said smiling at Iris

"Detective" Iris greeted back. I looked between them and rolled my eyes

"Oh my god just kiss already this is painful. Remember I know about you two now" I said. I saw them kiss and I couldn't help but smile at them. I am so glad to see Iris happy, I'm glad she has someone in her life to make her happy. 

"Thanks for being so cool about this, Barry I know it's not easy keeping a big secret." Eddie said.

"I'm getting used to it" I replied back looking at the evidence. I sighed "So far nothing Eddie I will give it some time to process this DNA sample I found." I said

"How long will that take?" He asked me

"Approximately a few hours" I replied, he sighed then nodded 

"Okay well let us know then." He said

"I will, as for now I have to the Simon Stagg award ceremony with Iris." I said looking at Iris

"I'm taking journalism yay." Iris said sarcastically rolling her eyes. Eddie and I laughed. Eddie pecked Iris on the lips

"You'll be fine." He said while they were too busy flirting I excused myself from them so I could go home and changed. I walked downstairs and ran into someone.

"Oh sorry" I quickly apologized

"Oh, Hey Barry" Steve greeted me. 

"Hey Steve," I said and gave him a quick hug "feels like we haven't met up in forever," I said with a smile

"Well with you waking up from a coma I decided to give you some space and reunite with your family and friends." Steve said with a smile

"Oh, aren't you sweet." I said. We both laughed

"So what are you doing here?" I asked him. He took a small pause and said

"Well the truth is I was going to see you" He finally replied

"Really?" I asked he nodded

"yeah like you said it felt like we haven't met up in forever." He said then I remember what I said to him when we first met

"oh crap that's right, I promised you I was going to show you around the city" I said but he chuckled and waved me off

"no need, these past 9 months I was able to look around the city myself" He replied. 

"Oh" I said then looked down sadly, I was looking forward to hanging out with him. 

"But I wasn't able to tour all around the city just a few places and downtown" He said to me. I looked up and met his gorgeous blue eyes "so I was wondering if you're not busy would you like to I don't know tour around the whole city with me?" He asked me. My eyes lit up and I smiled

"I would love to but right now it's not a good time." I said then he looked down in sadness, I felt bad "But if we exchange numbers I can text you when I'm available" I suggested.

"That sounds like a good plan to me." He said and we both pull out our phones. We exchanged numbers.

"There you go you officially have my number." I said with a smile and he smiled back 

"Alright well, I will see you soon Barry" Steve said, I nodded and smiled

"See you Steve" I said. He walked outside leaving me flustered and excited. I heard Iris chuckle behind me. I gasped and looked at her

"Well, well, look who has a date ladies and gentlemen." Iris said. I rolled my eyes

"It's not a date Iris, we are just friends." I said

"Sure sure sure keep telling yourself that Barry." Iris said walking outside "now let's hurry up and go home so you can change" She shouted at me.

-At the Univeristy-

"I find it quite remarkable, having once been a timid freshman at Central City University, to be standing before you now, the regents choice for man of the year. While I very much appreciate the award, the real honor for me is knowing that my work in organ transference helps give people a second chance at life. Thank you all very much for coming" Simon Stagg gave his speech, the University was filled with applause. Iris still looked confused at what Simon said, here comes Nerdy Barry Allen

"Okay, all right, first things first...Simon Stagg's work in cellular cloning has led to huge advancements in the future of organ replacement-" I was in the middle of explaining when Iris ABURTLY interrupted me. Thanks, Iris

"Are journalists allowed to drink on the job?" She asked. I rolled my eyes

"Okay. If you are bored already, just wait til we get to the science behind cellular regeneration" I said

"I have missed this, Barry" Iris said, why do I even bother explaining this whole science shit to her this is a waste of my time. "Just us hanging out together chit chatting, me pretending to listen to your science stuff-" I gave her a glare "hey half the time I have no idea what the hell you are talking about okay? stop giving me that look, oh! and us checking out hot guys together" She said to me nudging my arm playfully. I had an emotionless look on my face. I was about to say something when Iris opened her mouth...again 

"Oh! Oh! Mr. Stagg, I was wondering if I could get a quote from you for my article" She called out to Stagg

"Not now miss." He said to her kind of rudely.

"I'll just make something up." She said. I tried not to laugh at the way she said that. "So...what were you gonna tell me? You looked like you were about to say something" Iris said

"yeah uh-" I was interrupted AGAIN only this time by some gunshots. People screamed and ran to safety. As did me and Iris.

"Quiet down! All of you!" The shooter shouted there were 6 shooters. 

"Oh my god" Iris said scaredly

"Quiet! how considerate! You're all wearing your finest jewelry almost like you knew we were coming to rob you!" The shooter yelled I took a deep breath and thought about how to play this off. I saw one of the shooters carry a bag collecting the jewelry. I saw a security guard draw his gun

"Freeze!" He shouted without thinking I zoomed off grabbing the guard and put him in the safe area. I chased after the robbers but I felt very light headed and dizzy. I stopped and placed my hand on my head I breathed hard then everything went black.

"Barry. Barry. Barry!" I heard Iris's voice yelling at me, I sat up looking around. "I turned around and you were gone. What happened? Are you okay?" She asked me

"yeah, yeah I'm fine  I...I went after them to try and get the plates and I....fainted" I said confused. How did I faint? What Happened? I was confused myself. I heard Joe showing up

"Where were you?" he asked me

"Dad, go easy." Iris said

"You want me to get you a paramedic, Allen?" I heard Eddie ask

"No, I'm fine. Thanks, Eddie" I said standing up.

"I thought I was dead. I saw the gun go off, and then boom, suddenly I'm outside. I have no idea how I got there" I heard the guard said talking to the police and the Star-Spangled guy. But I didn't focus on that I was still trying to figure out what happened to me.

"Let me talk to you for a second" Joe said to me. I nodded and followed him to a safe area

"You chased those gunmen, didn't you?" He asked me

"Yea, they must be the same guys that knocked over the gun shop earlier today" I said. Joe gave me a disappointing look.

"You're not bulletproof wait are you?" He asked me. I shook my head

"no, but-" I was cut off by Joe, this is starting to become a thing me getting cut off by something or someone

"Okay. No more heroics. Chasing bad guys is not your job. It's mine You're not a cop" Joe said "Promise me" he said

"Promise" I said

"And you know Iris is not stupid, start making better excuses than 'I fainted' " Joe said. I rolled my eyes then nodded. I wanted to figure out what was wrong with me there are only one person or people that can help me, S.T.A.R. Labs

"Hey kid!" I heard Star-Spangled call out to me, ugh what now 

"Yes?" I asked

"You alright?" he asked me "I heard you try to chase down those gunmen and got hurt or something?" He asked me. I nodded

"I'm fine I just....fainted," I said using that lame ass excuse again. He smiled slightly

"Take good care of yourself Kid, stay healthy." He said to me.

"I know." I said then walked off.

Steve's Pov

I was about to get ready to text Barry when I got an alert about an active shooter in the University. I quickly got dressed and made my way there. I was followed by some police cruisers. I led them to the University and saw people in a state of shock after what happened. I saw Iris kneeling over someone, wait...is that Barry? Oh my god no! is he okay. My heart was beating out of my chest seeing Barry on the floor. I ran over there

"Is he okay?" I asked Iris

"he's fine..I think he ran off chasing after the gunmen but I have no idea what else happened. Don't worry he'll wake up" Iris said "There are some witnesses over there why don't you ask what happened," she said. I nodded and ran back to the scene of the crime. I was listening to some people talk about the robbers running in and shooting the place. I was paying attention to some of the details I was watching Barry from afar then I saw him pop up, okay good he's okay. 

"I thought I was dead. I saw the gun go off, and then boom, suddenly I'm outside. I have no idea how I got there" The guard said, ugh! the speedster made an appearance, must people I witnessed who have been saved from certain crimes say 'I have no idea how I got here'. I thanked the guard and told him to take care and cool off. I saw Barry walk away I couldn't help but go to him but not as Steve Rogers, as Captain America.

"Hey, kid!" I called out for Barry. I saw him stop in his tracks and turn to me. He looks pale and tired like his energy was drained. 

"Yes?" He asked me

"You alright?" I asked him "I heard you try to chase down those gunmen and got hurt or something?" 

"I'm fine I just... fainted." He said to me that's a lame ass excuse something happened to him out there and he's hiding it from me. 

"Take good care of yourself Kid, stay healthy." I told him. 

"I know." he said and walked away. I watched as he walked away. I began to worry about Barry, something isn't right. He wasn't like this when I first met him, he was happy chipper, and well...Barry but ever since he woke up he's been looking kinda sad and not chipper as usual, has his body been exposed to dark matter? Does he have powers that he hasn't told anyone? I had some much questions. But I decided to not get into Barry's business, if he wants to talk then he can come to me.

Barry's Pov

"You're sure about this Cisco?" I asked Cisco who was setting up a treadmill for me, I told them what happened out there earlier and Caitlin was angry at me for lying to them saying that I'm fine. Right now Cisco wants to check my vitals and see what's wrong with me. 

"Most home treadmills have a maximum speed of about 12 miles per hour. This one has been Cisco'd, trust me. it can gangle your speed" Cisco said

"Okay," I said nodding stepping on the treadmill and started to walk, a few seconds later I was running. I was breathing hard. I started to get dizzy/light headed. It was worse than earlier. I heard Caitlin's voice through the speaker.

"Barry we think we know why keep-" I didn't hear the rest of the sentence as I flew across the room hitting boxes passing out.

I woke up on the hospital bed groaning "I passed out again?" I asked them

"Total metabolic failure brought on by acute hypoglycemia" Caitlin explained

"I'm not eating enough?" I asked they gave me a lot of food and I never felt so much better, the way they explained these metabolic changes due to my speed makes a lot of sense. 

"I've done a few calculations. You need to consume an amount equal to roughly 850 tacos" Caitlin said. Oh wow I mean I love tacos but I can't consume too much. 

"Uness we're talking cheese and guac, which is like a whole other set of equations." Cisco said I laughed at Caitlin and Cisco talking about tacos but that was quickly interrupted when Joe walked in.

"Detective West. What brings you to S.T.A.R. Labs?" Dr. Wells asked

"When I couldn't find you at your lab, I started doing a little research. Turns out there's been reports of a red streak around the city, stopping muggers, rescuing people from burning buildings" Joe said to me sounding a little angry. I stood there like I just been caught kissing my crush or something but sadly Steve isn't here so- wait what

"You didn't tell him we were working together?" Dr. Wells asked

"Joe, I can expain" I said to him

"You already have a job in law enforcement, Barry I suggest you get back to it" Joe said I heard Caitlin hum in agreement

"Don't look at me. I'm on your side" She said. okay I know she's been through a lot but she's kind of a bitc-

"We all want what's best for Barry." Dr. Wells said. Joe and Dr. Wells argued for a little bit

"Since the accelerator explosion, we suspect there may be more like him." Dr. Wells said. 

"And you're gonna do what?" Joe asked,

"catch them?" I asked 

"Are you insane? You think because you can run real fast that you're invincible? You're not! you're just a  kid. My kid" Joe yelled, at this moment I became furious I had enough. I yelled at Joe telling him that he's not my dad I told him that I want to be a hero and he can't stop me. I shot the words 'you're not my father' like venom.

"You think you're so smart. All of you. But you don't know what you don't know. And I hope that you're clever enough to figure it out before somebody gets killed" Joe said then walked off. I felt bad for what I had said to Joe, I know he's been there for me and he's trying so hard taking care of me and Iris but sometimes I just want to snap at him for not making me make my own choices. 

-Next Day-

I had to go back to my lab in CCPD the next day, I was looking over some evidence when Joe showed up

"come to yell at me again?" I asked

"Simon Stagg's head of security was murdered last night. The coroner took some skin samples. Hopefully, they belong to the killer. See if you can find a match" He said to me, I did what he told me to do. I heard footsteps in the distance walking in

"hey dad" Iris greeted Joe

"hey, baby, got to go" He said and walked off

"Why is my dad mad you." Iris said

"work stuff" Was all I said to Iris then I looked at her and realized she was mad at me, great everyone is mad at me today is National "let's get mad at Barry" day. "why are you mad at me?" I asked her

"You were supposed to meet me at Jitters to give me some scientific background for my article." Iris said then I saw Steve walk-in

"barry why haven't you gotten my text, hey Iris" He asked me and greeting Iris at the same time. I rubbed my eyes

"And I didn't show up" I said to Iris "Or replied to your text Steve I am so sorry I am busy-"

"And now I have to come up with a new article topic in 24 hours or I fail the assignment" Iris said. Okay this is too much, people mad at me all at once

"I heard what happened to you Barry, they said you fainted" Steve said. 

"Don't say that you're sorry." Iris said to me I looked at her with my famous puppy eyes "Okay I know that you are. What I don't know is what is going on with you" Iris said

"Get in line." Steve said to Iris

"We grew up one bedroom down from each other. Do you honestly think that I don't know when you're happy? or sad? or depressed or lost?" Iris said

"Or waking up from a coma and doesn't tell us if he's okay and not sick. So we are going to ask you one last time Barry Allen, and you better be honest with us, What the-" I cut them off but going in slow motion, I zoomed towards Iris and Steve

"You want to know what's happening. I'm fast now!" I shouted I zoomed over to Steve

"God I just want to tell you. How I feel. How you make me feel. But I can't" I said and zoomed back to where I was acting like nothing happened

"hell is going on with you?" Steve asked. I was about to answer when the machine beeped.
"We are not done talking about this" I heard Iris say but I was too busy looking at the skin sample.

"That's impossible," I said
