Chapter One

Sorry for any mistakes, I wrote it on the notepad app on my phone!

**

She was twenty-seven years old for crying out loud! She knew enough to know that what she was dealing with shouldn't even be possible, and yet, there she was, running, in her now torn up scrubs from weird looking creatures that's jabbering about something or another. She couldn't understand what they were saying, but she  wasn't too keen on staying to try and decipher anything.

It was the first time she had ran that long of a distance at the place she did. Her lungs burned!

After what felt like an eternity, Ellie finally, and thankfully may she add, was able to lose them. How she did, she didn't know, but holy jeez, was she thanking whatever God saved her.

It was a small cave, she noted after a moment or two of catching her bearings, and the only sounds that could be heard were just her heavy breathing, and in her ears, the sound of her pounding heart against the inside of her chest. She knew she shouldn't just do this, but she went deeper into the cave, leaning against the wall as she slid down, not really registering how the skin on her back was exposed and scraping along the cave wall.

Darkness crept in and out of the corners of her eyes as she stared up at the ceiling, trying desperately to remain conscious. Her head pounded angrily, and her entire body shook from the adrenaline that coursed through her body as.

As her heart beat was beginning to slow, her breathing becoming normal, Ellie's mind raced. Panic soon began to settle into the pit of her stomach as that familiar feeling of unknowing anticipation.

Her brows furrowed in concentration as she thought about how she got there. She couldn't remember the how, but she remembered what she was doing right before walking up there.

She had just finished taking an x-ray on a patient's molars and premolars and was wiping down everything before she had to set up again for the next patient and, boy, her mind was fuzzy, she remembered backing up and feeling an exploding pain at the back of her head.

And then darkness.

Followed by waking up there - well wherever there was.

This better be have been some weird dream she was having when she was unconscious, because if she wasn't...

Hey eyes quickly shut as she willed the rest of that thought to the back of her mind. No. She was NOT going to think about that.

Besides it was impossible...

Right?

The sound of voices and movement toward the entrance of the cave caused Ellie to hold her breath and try not to move, though, she knew well that there wasn't a place in that cave that she could hide. Still, she tilted her head slightly to the side, her eyes fixed to the entrance, waiting with dread for the... welcoming party to find her again.

Ellie slowly breathed through her nose and out her mouth, her heart pounding again, but this time, of panic.

Please, for the love of god, don't let them find her.

The voices were just outside of the cave, and this time, she noted that they were speaking English.  Her breath hitched when whoever they were stepped in front of the entrance to the cave, holding strange weapons in front of them, though one of them was holding something else, it reminded her of a chunky looking calculator.

Except, she thought, calculators normally didn't beep.

Unless, of course, they were the incredibly expensive ones that you see in accounting offices.

Ellie stayed still as she stared out at them; feeling nervous as she wondered about whether or not they would hurt or help her.

She hoped it'd be the latter.

After a moment or two of hesitation, Ellie realised that she was slowly, cautiously getting up onto all fours, before climbing up onto still shaky legs.

She took deep, slow breaths as she stayed near the wall for support while she made her way to the entrance of the cave. Carefully, she peaked out.

Nothing was there to the right; nothing she could see anyway, and to her left she saw the people from before a bit of a distance away.

Ah, screw it, Ellie cursed, as she exited the cave. A she opened her mouth to speak, she was jumped on. A scream erupted past her lips as she struggled to remain upright.

The little creatures climbed on her like she was a damn tree. Little painful pricks could be felt all over her body. She eventually was pulled down.

What felt like forever was probably more than just a minute or two before she heard a weird whooshing-pinging noise and the creatures stiffening up and falling to the ground beside her like they were flies.

She quickly sat up to see the people from before making their way over to her.

"Are you alright?"

The one with the calculator looking thing pointed it at her, it made different noises and as she opened her mouth to speak, the southern gentleman interrupted her. "She'll be fine, but we need to get her back to the Enterprise."

Ellie didn't miss the confused and concerned look that came across his face.

"Oh hold on a minute!" Ellie squeaked out, still on the ground. "I'm not going anywhere until I have my questions answered."

Annoyance crossed over each of their features. "We'll answer your questions once we get back to the ship."

He was wearing a yellow shirt. His back was to her, but she could hear the concern in his voice. "But..."

A few rapid beeps was heard before the one in yellow spoke, "Scotty, beam us up! We have four people here!"

"Aye cap'n!"

A glittering light swirled around them. She felt like she was high. Her body was floating but at the same time it felt as though she was still.

Then, a few seconds later, she was sitting on a metal floor, looking at an equally metal walls with a large glass window and a desk behind it was close to the door.

Her eyes were wide. It was like her brain was short circuiting or something

"Everyone just-just-just stop!" Ellie scrambled to get up. "One moment I'm taking an x-ray and then the next I'm being chased by-by-by whatever the heck that is. I've no idea where I am, or what those thingies were, and what on earth just happened?!"
