Chenle's POV

Kun and I made it safely to our chosen globe, and quickly entered the side entrance.

We snuck through it until we found the globe's core room.

"There he is"

Kun pointed out a singular guy standing in the middle of the room, which we already knew to be one of the six ghouls.

We jumped down into the room, immediately capturing his attention.

"Nice of you to show up. I'm Yoo Kihyun, but you can just call me Kihyun. You two must be Chenle, the Demon Prince of Envy, and Kun, the Boar of Deception"

"Enough with the formalities. You all know damn well who we are, so quit playing games"

Kun snapped before I did.

He immediately summoned his Sword of Deception, and prepared to fight him.

"Chenle. Let me handle this"

"What the hell are you talking about? We're doing this together"

"No. You're my prince. It's my job to lay my life on the line for you and protect you"

"Quit trying to act like some heroic knight. We came here together, so we're fighting together"

"Actually, I'd like to see what Kun has up his sleeve. Try your best against me"

Kihyun interrupted, and we kindly ignored him.

"Just let me do this for you Chenle. Stop trying to stop me"

"No. You stop trying to deny me. We can handle him better together. You may be strong alone, but we're stronger together"

"As your friend and your servant, I'm not backing out of protecting you"

"First of all, you're not my servant. Second of all, as your friend, I'm telling you that I'm not letting you fight my battles for me"

"Any day now"

Kihyun was starting to get impatient, but we still ignored him and continued to argue.

"Not a chance! This isn't your fight! You shouldn't have to do anything until we get to Wonho! That's when it becomes your fight!"

"Oh bullshit! This became my fight when they took Jaemin! I refuse to stand by with these scum right in front of me! I'm fighting with you Kun, end of story!"

"I won't let you! Just let me protect you Chenle!"

"Stop disobeying me, and let me fight with you!"

"OH GIVE ME A BREAK! BOTH OF YOU JUST SHUT UP ALREADY!"

Kihyun finally snapped.

In the blink of an eye, he used his kagune to hit Kun, and sent him flying into the wall.

The speed of that strike, along with the force of the blow, created a crater in the wall.

He couldn't see this happen, but I could.

He was immediately knocked unconscious from the impact, and he fell to the ground soon after hitting the wall.

"Kun!"

I immediately ran over to him to make sure that he was still breathing.

Thankfully, he was...

Sicheng's potion really did work then. If he hadn't used it, I'm pretty sure that Kun would've died from that almost instantly.

"You two really are a riot. You teamed up and came here together, but you can't even face your opponent together without bickering"

Kihyun scoffed.

I don't know why, but seeing Kun hurt like this just makes me angry. He was just trying to protect me, but I was too stubborn to let him. I knew that he couldn't handle him on his own, but...

Why did I let this happen...?

Suddenly, the dark blue bead on my bracelet started glowing, the room went dark, and it seemed like time had frozen.

All I could see was Kun, unconsciously laying on the ground.

"Chenle. It's okay"

"Don't let your anger own you"

I jumped after hearing two unfamiliar voices behind me.

When I looked back, I found two demons floating off of the ground with a blue smoke around them.

They kind of look like ghosts, and for some reason I feel like I should recognize them...

"Who...?"

"Allow us to introduce ourselves. I'm Kim Taehyung"

"And I'm Kim Yugyeom"

They both bowed to me respectfully.

"Wait... You're the first and second princes of Envy, from the pictures!"

I realized.

"So, our hyungs finally showed you all the pictures of us"

"It's about time. We were starting to worry that they never would"

"So...you've been watching from the dead this whole time..."

"Always. And we don't blame them for keeping us a secret. It was the only way to keep you all safe, so that you wouldn't suffer our same fate"

"But now, we can finally pass down our power to you. The power of the Envious Scorpion"

"Envious Scorpion...? Your mean the power in the bracelet?"

They both nodded, pleased that I knew what they were talking about.

"We, as past users of our sin's power, can form the scorpion and weaken Kihyun, to help you take him down quicker"

"So, the only thing I'll have to do is deal the finishing blow?"

"Correct"

"Just give us the word"

They then held each other's hand, and the blue smoke around them grew.

They shifted into a golden scorpion, and they grew more in size, until their size greatly towered over me and Kihyun.

I gently rested Kun against the wall, and I picked up his Sword of Deception.

I turned back around, and walked passed Kihyun until I was behind him. With the scorpion right in front of him, the room immediately lit up and time returned to normal. The moment Kihyun noticed, it was already too late for him.

"Perish"

Immediately after I gave the word, the scorpion immediately grabbed Kihyun with its pincers, squeezing him tightly.

It then impaled him with its stinger, and it began draining his life force to weaken him, making his kagune disappear.

"Second Sin Empowerment"

I gathered up some of my power into my hand, and evenly transferred it throughout the blade.

It glowed light blue, radiating a greater power than it had before.

"Sabertooth of Resentment!"

I swung the sword at Kihyun, and it completely sliced him in half diagonally, with the light blue silhouette of a Sabertooth Tiger.

Half of him fell to the ground, while the rest of him dangled from the scorpion's stinger.

He slowly started disintegrating into dust, but unlike the other ghouls, his remains started bunching up together, and were escaping through the way we came in.

"...Two down,...four to go..."

He uttered, before completely disintegrating.

Suddenly, time stopped, and the room went completely dark again. Additionally, Yugyeom and Taehyung had changed back to normal.

"And there you have it"

"We're finally making progress again"

They both smiled.

"I really appreciate this guys. See you again?"

"Of course"

"Whenever you need us"

They both faded away together, and the room and time returned to normal once more after the bead stopped glowing.

I holstered Kun's sword on my back, and I carefully picked him up. I changed into my Oni form and made my wings appear again, and I flew us out of the globe.

Once I got outside, I immediately spotted bright light in the distance.

I could already tell that it meant Johnny and Jaehyun secured a safe zone. As I flew towards it, I noticed that one of the globes had lost its power completely, and it plummeted to the ground with a loud crash.

I looked back, and the globe that I left from was losing its power too. Could it be, that if we defeat the other ghouls in the remaining globes, then those globes will lose their power as well?

And if that's the case, then that must mean that the outer globes power the Prism Globe itself. That must be the only way for us to infiltrate it.

We have to power it down, and take down the other ghouls as soon as possible.
