Prologue
They stared and whispered.
Her sharp bright green eyes glanced over to a few individuals that were surrounding the path. A few looked away in embarrassment when she caught their curious stares.
She did not think twice before heading straight forward unexpectedly to the school's soccer field.
"Let's play soccer!" A stentorian voice exclaimed. When she gradually came to a halt by the corner, she began to examine the way they began with their training. She felt the sudden urge to test the people on the field. She wanted to know how capable were they as a soccer team.
She brought out her three of her personal soccer balls with a few of her markings to indicate she has ownership over them. She placed them all down in front of her.
"Let's test him first," she mumbled under her breath with a mischievous smirk.
She gave a hard kick to the first ball up to the last one.
The first ball was directed at the well-known game strategist. He was able to stop it before it could hit him harder. The boy was dumfounded for once. He felt like he knew who was responsible for this. The power of the ball was recognizable. The second was the Flame striker who was able to block it. He looked at the source of the shoot in suspicion.
"Fist of Justice!" the goalkeeper of Raimon stopped the shoot yet he was still puzzled in whoever was the one who made the shoot was not even his teammate nor were they even on the field present.
"Show yourself!" The game-maker said in annoyance.
"You shouldn't be shy to come out and join us!" the goalkeeper said joyfully in a big grin.
"I am never shy," the passiveness of the girl's voice did not ease the tension of the atmosphere one bit as she presented herself in front of the many terrified teammates who were stunned at the sudden shots that were targeted to their trio lead.
"I'm not too surprised that the three of you were able to stop the shoots," she spoke as she began to pick all of her belongings back to her dark red duffel bag.
"Kawaguchi Chieko...?!" she stopped in-between fixing her bag. Her mind went blank for a few seconds but she regained all of her senses when somebody had touched her right shoulder. She was startled ang glared at the person who dared to touched her. Her intense glare softened when she saw the awfully familiar blood red eyes behind his blue goggles.
'Think straight!' she rebuked herself.
"G-get off, Kidou Yuuto!" she huffed while throwing off his arm. The said boy staggered a few steps away from her.
"I need to clear my head a bit," the girl said apologetically. Through the corner of her eyes, Kidou looked slightly pained but he was able to cover it up before she could speak anything of it.
"What's your business here anyway, Kawaguchi?" She felt a tinge of unusual feeling but she forced herself to think straight.
"I want to join the team," her claim made the other members of team Raimon to gasped in surprise.
"It's going to be a problem then," She rose an eyebrow when she heard Gouenji spoke after a while of her existence in front of them.
"How come?" she asked with a tone of fake-curiosity. Chieko slowly glanced over to their teammates to see them disbelieved, scared, horrified, almost everything negative was she felt coming from them. Her fingers twitched for some reason. She wanted to scoff because they were too wimpy in her eyes. Her eyes finally settled back to Gouenji.
"It looks like you're not good at even cooperating," he smirked.
"Gouenji, actually, Kawa-"
"That's not the big problem though," Chieko tilted her head to the side with a small smile.
"I cooperate rather easily, I try to adjust myself to whoever my teammates are," she laughed and sighed.
"The problem is if ever your teammates are going to cooperate," she shrugged her shoulders.
"How is that a problem?" Endou asked in confusion while looking over to the team.
"They're probably thinking I'm somebody who's the same as Kidou, maybe even worse," she casually said.
"A-are you?" Endou asked quietly. She gave him a bitter smile, as if saying it was true. He was in utter shock, speechless that it was actually true, not just some claims. What made Chieko gasped in astonishment was when Endou placed both of his hands on top of her shoulders, gripping them firmly. He had regained back his ever so bubbly and energetic self. He gave her one of his famous grins.
"I believed that you changed, just like Kidou!" This statement made her soften her complexion. She was touched, he might sounded or looked simple-minded, he was still one of a kind. Something like these are hard to grasp, but he was able to adapt and accept her.
"I'm honored," at least once, Chieko began to smile as sincere as when she was a child.
"Alright then, Let's play soccer!"
