Chapter 42: From Camie to Himiko

Himiko had both her hands gripping on her belt. There in one hand was a pointed dagger, the edges jagged and very faintly bloodstained. In the other, she had a small vial that she was holding tightly, making sure that it would not fall from her grasp. "I'm sure it'll be in your favor, Camie-San. So, spare me a moment of your time so we can discuss this together, hmm?"

Although Camie seemed to be the person to get scared quite easily, she was quite obviously not even slightly phased by the fact that not only did the blonde have a dagger, but she also had seemed to forget that they had been ambushed by her before. "Huuuuuuh? What is it?"

"The density you have is remarkable. I can't tell if it matches with that of Shoto-Kun's or not." With a giggle, she walked closer to the princess, carefully looking at her face like she was trying to study it. "But besides that, I'm well aware of your intentions for the throne Camie-San. King Endeavor himself promised your kingdom a peaceful alliance under the condition that Shoto gets married to Momo, yes?"

Camie was nodding, but clearly didn't know what this conversation was about. "Well yeah, but what does that have to do with me? I'm like totally confused."

"As expected. But I understand how you must feel about Izuku-Kun right now. An agreement spoiled by a prince's first and only love." She made her way behind the princess, to where her fingertips were delicately placed atop the brunette's shoulders. From there, she leaned over her shoulder, a hum leaving her as her tone became more sinister and ominous. "How angry it must make you. Standing on the side while those two go off on their little date. The way Shoto must be looking at Izuku-Kun with those deviously endearing eyes. Doesn't it just make your blood boil knowing just how much something as simple as those two being together can destroy your kingdom, everything that you've fought hard for, the peace your mother brought, all put to waste, and taken into war instead, all because little Shoto doesn't want to get married to your sister."

That must have done it for her, because even though Camie was mostly self absorbed, she knew how infuriating it would be just to fail after having come this far. Himiko knew exactly how to manipulate her, and it seemed to work when she froze in place. "Wait... together? What does that mean?"

"Oh? You haven't figured it out yet?" Himiko's fingers began to move, starting to walk themselves across Camie's skin softly. "Because of your little... slip up last night, Shoto was able to profess his love to Izuku-Kun."

The princess stopped, thinking this through in her head. A few of the things didn't make sense to her, there was just everything wrong with that in her opinion. And, once the realization of the entire situation finally processed, she looked with a widened gaze ahead of her. "Shoopie likes guys??? But what about Momo??"

"I see there's a few things you've yet to learn about Momo-San too." Her grin widened, just before she decided to step away from the brunette. It wasn't long before she was in front of her once again, unhooking one of the many vials attached to her belt, the liquid inside of it being strangely pure white, unlike the rest which were either red or empty. "But enough of that. I'm sure you don't know, but just to put a fresh stamp in your mind. Just yesterday, I was able to obtain Prince Shoto's blood."

"Woah! Why is it white?? That's so weird. His blood is half and half too? Did you get that from his right arm and that's wh—"

Himiko cut her off only because she didn't want to be caught in the middle of the princess's rambling, "This isn't his blood. I assure you, I'm keeping that somewhere to be preserved for when I do need it."

It seemed that Camie wasn't very convinced by that statement, because all she could think about was the fact that Shoto's hair and eyes were multicolored, so it probably made sense if his blood was too. But aside from that, she tried her best to listen from here on out, even though she couldn't help herself from making dumb comments, even if all the pieces fit together.

"In any case," she continued, "This one right here, is a potion or an elixir of sorts. Its color isn't quite as pretty as red, I'm afraid, but it'll still catch your interest, I'm sure."

Before she began to explain exactly what the substance did, she looked directly at the bush Tenya and Ochako were in. From then, her tongue traced along the edges of her pointed teeth, as if she knew exactly who was behind there. "The witch, Ochako-San, there was a reason we kidnapped her. He gave me the order, so we stole an important ingredient from her pouch. I bet she doesn't even realize that it's missing."

Ochako jumped a bit in place, paying no attention to Tenya who had placed a firm hand on his blade. She immediately began to dig through her pouch, realizing that it was completely void of a silver powder she used to keep safe with her at all times. Her hand stopped in place, not having the strength to look back up to the blonde.

"Let's just say we put it to good use. And-" she held it up toward Camie, extending her hand so that the other female could reach it from where she stood "-I'm letting you test it out for future use. If the experiment is successful, then we'll definitely replicate the potion when push comes to shove."

The brunette furrowed her eyebrows. There was absolutely no explanation behind it, so of course she was going to... blindly agree. She cupped the vial around her hands, and then looked back to the blonde. "Cool! What now? What does it do???"

Himiko giggled a bit, "Oh, it's a surprise, actually. But I recommend using it on the Royal Guard, really. You can trust me, can't you?"

"Oh yeah, totes! Whatever this is, I'll use it! Thanks!"

"For now let's use a group of five, that's all we need. Starting with the captain of the guard, of course. Slip it into their drinks, and watch the magic happen, just give them any command like... hmmm..." she tapped her chin in a pensive manner, before she got the idea back in her head. "Yeah, tell them 'Retrieve the prince and bring him to the castle immediately. The wedding must commence.' Yeah, that'll do it."

That was it. Tenya had finally had it. Before the blonde could utter another word, Tenya jumped out of the bush, drawing his shimmering blade against her neck. "I believe now is my time to interject."

Himiko didn't even respond, she just grinned, looking at the blade that rested against her skin. She wasn't bothered, he could stab her for all she cared, after all, she loved blood more than anything, so what difference would it make?

"Prince Shoto does not desire the princess, I suggest you back away from the wedding. My orders were to escort the prince, yes, but my prince's happiness is more valuable to me than this mission. And if it means putting our lives at jeopardy, then so be it."

"A noble knight, yes, yes. But too bad for you, you've got the wrong one." Her hand slid down to her side, where she pressed it roughly against her skin. From there, her skin began to turn brown, melting down to the ground. "It's a shame you don't have the guts to actually cut me, but I'm afraid this will have to do. Have a fun wedding, we'll be seeing you soon~" With that, every trace left to her was reduced to nothing more than brown sludge that remained glued to the ground.

The blue haired knight kneeled down, dipping two of his fingers into the sludge. He brought it close to his face and started to examine it, moving it around in an attempt to figure out what it was exactly.

It was strange, really. It was sticky, yet liquid-like, not to mention it wasn't even damp, it was just cold. There was just a series of things he could list about it, but he just didn't have the words to describe, all he could get out was "What the—"

But before he could say anything else, Ochako finally managed to get herself out of her hiding spot, and started shaking him. "Iida-Kun!!! She's gone!!"

"Um... yes, I'm quite aware." Tenya gestured to the puddle of brown before him.

"Not Toga! Princess Camie!!" Her finger pointed off to their right, where the figure of the princess was now replaced with nothing but the surrounding air.

It took him a while to realize, but the moment he did, a tired hand made its way to the bridge of his nose and pinched it slightly. He was already exhausted as he was, but now this? Goodness, how much was it to ask for a simple break? Obviously way too much if stuff like this happens over and over again. "This... is going to be a problem."

Izuku shifted uncomfortably in his seat. It wasn't that he didn't want to be there, in fact, it was quite the opposite: he absolutely adored everything that was happening for the moment. However, there was one thing that was bothering him, so he couldn't help but build up an uneasy feeling in his stomach.

Maybe it had to do with the fact that he was in a wealthy area, or maybe that people kept on looking in his direction. He wasn't much to look at, or at least that's what he felt, so it must have been the simplicity behind his clothes design, or probably because his face was as red as a tomato.

But the most likely reason wasn't the stares he was being given, or the place he was in. In fact, something just felt off, like something bad was going to happen very soon. He couldn't help but sense something, but what was it? And why was it bothering him so much?

He just didn't know, and he really tried to leave it alone, but a ringing in his ear seemed to be preventing that. So much for a peaceful date with Shoto.

Izuku stood up, gripping his head tightly, along with his stomach. "I need to use the restroom." Truthfully, he didn't want to leave, but he didn't want to cause too much disturbance between the two of them, so this felt like the best option.

The prince looked up from his dish that consisted of nothing but a fresh loaf of brown bread, only to be greeted by the sickly expression from the greenette. His head tilted slightly to the right, wondering what had happened to make him look that way, because last time he had looked at him (which was probably a short twenty seconds before he looked down), he seemed to be the same, cheery Izuku that he was from the beginning of all this.

His mouth formed a slight frown, feeling as if he made him uncomfortable. "Oh. I see. Take your time."

A nervous laugh escaped the knight, a new guilty feeling falling over him. "Uhm... please excuse me, I'm really sorry, Shoto." He bowed quickly, just before shuffling off in the direction of the restrooms, just as stated.

Shoto lost his appetite, and pushed his plate to the center of the round table. He couldn't force himself to eat anything else, making him jump to the conclusion that Izuku's condition was contagious.

He began to stare at his glass of water, seemingly looking at his reflection. If it hadn't been for the amount of people, he would have been yelling at himself, telling himself to stop being so Shoto-like (in a sense where he was dense and useless in a lot of situations).

Instead, he just sighed, keeping himself absorbed in thought.

However, now wasn't the time to pout, it wasn't like he could expect Izuku to not need to use the bathroom. After all, it's not like he was trying to avoid him, right? I mean, if he really hated him all that much, he wouldn't have returned his feelings in the first place. Well, unless he was just faking it all so as to not be mean.

He smacked himself, which in turn got strange looks in his direction. That thought alone was stupid. Izuku wasn't that type of person and he knew it, he probably just wasn't feeling well.

There was really no point in overthinking it. But this is Shoto Todoroki we're talking about, so of course he was going to overthink it.

What he didn't know was that everything was going to be fine... for another hour or so, then real chaos was to commence. But it wasn't like he could tell the future, although he wished he could.

He shrugged, putting on his same vacant expression. Whatever was going to happen wasn't his problem. In fact, it was a problem for Future Shoto. Yeah, because that made sense.

Meanwhile, in the bathroom...
