Chapter 32. Take two

{Location: Sapphire Lake, Destiny's bounty}(Willow's POV)

You left me with that fool Dareth and look what happens. Aquila lectures me as she lands on deck. Three days ago Katara died and turned to ash. Morro won't move unless we move him. Zane and Skylor have taken shifts in attempting to feed him. Lloyd and Kai were non-stop on a work out roll. Seliel, Cole, and Misako buried themselves in a mini lab, experimenting with flightstone and other things. Jay, Nya, Wu and Kit were quiet for once. And me? Well, I feel hollow again.

"I should have done something." I bite my lip raw from my mourning. I rub my hands on my jeans and my light grey shirt.

"But you did and nothing could have changed the outcome." Lloyd walks on deck and hugs me from behind. "You did everything you could."

I sigh, "I hate Jezzie. I hate that women."

"I know. Come on, below deck, you need to eat something." Lloyd leads me down the steps as Aquila takes off, looking for her own lunch. I hear quiet sobbing from the first room on my left. Morro's barely slept, ate or did anything. We can't even fly far without the wind nearly killing us.

He moans like a ghost. "Why?"

I wiggle out of Lloyd's gentle hold and walk to his side.

I crouch down and rub his shoulders. "Because she loved you." My promise to Katara's dying breath ringing in my ears. I sigh as another round of tears threatens their way on my face.

"She's gone." Morro doesn't cry, he is probably dehydrated already, instead of crying, he just sits still.

Crick. Crick. I turn to see the vase that held my sister's ashes float in mid air.

"Does anyone else see the flying vase?" Lloyd walks in and confirms I am not crazy.

"I'm not lifting it." Morro wiggles his way out of my hold and stands up for the first time in three days. The vase now notices us flies to the open window.

I jump and lunge, "Stop it." I slam the window close. The vase turns and flies through the door.

"After it." Morro charges after it. We race up to stairs as the others hear us.

Cole catches it and holds it with both hands. "Got it. Now, what's-" Cole gets cut off by the vase spinning and hitting his lower jaw. "OW!" He lets go and the vase races into the sky.

"I got it." Kai jumps and grabs the vase by the neck. Now everyone is on deck as the vase begins shaking. The vase then slams it's base in Kai's stomach and takes off again. "Or not."

"What the heck is going on?" Jay exclaims as the vase stops about fifty feet from us. It tilts upside-down and the lid falls off.

"Perhaps this is one of Jezzie's magic tricks?" Zane asks in awe of the mysterious motion.

The vase titles the contents out then falls to earth.

"Katara." I watch in horror, expecting the ash to fall into the lake. Instead, the ash begins to form a shape. A humanoid shape. Then it all lights itself on fire, I'm pretty sure the vase is now incarnated from the intensity.

"No," Morro whispers as the flames die down. The Bounty drifts so the figure lands behind the mast.

Katara leans out on the right side with an amused face. "Can you quit your gawking and get me some clothes?" She sidesteps, large fiery angel wings cover her body as my mouth hits the floor.

I ignore her request, run to her and grab her in a hug. "KATara!"

"How is this possible?" Pixel asks as fiery wings let me in. I hug Katara tightly. This isn't a trick or magic. I just know my sister was back..and alive.

"Correct me if I'm wrong, but you didn't have wings yesterday right?" Jay nervously asks as everyone remembers how to walk.

Katara moves her left wing and smacks him across the face with her wing tip. "I wasn't alive yesterday Zappy."

(Morro's POV)

Now that I am not feeling moody, Pixel has the Bounty fly back to the temple. It is ways off, so Katara has time to explain what she saw and how she's alive. Kit also brings up fresh clothes, a pair of blue jeans and a red shirt that is exposing her back. We didn't want the wings to possibly burn them and start a fire.

Is this a dream. OW! Nope. I bite the inside of my cheek. A little blood comes out but this is most definitely real.

Katara smiles and sips her tea. "Molly and Roberto say hi by the way." Willow, on the other hand, goes white.

"How do we know that this isn't a trick?" Jay cocks an eyebrow. Katara taps her left ring finger, then points to Nya then back to Jay. Jay flushes red from the secret message, "Ok, it's her."

Seliel set her empty teacup down. "Who's Molly?"

"A story for another time." Willow regains her voice.

"Do those have an off button, otherwise we might have another fire hazard on board." Cole points to Katara's wings. Apparently, they do have an off button, they fizz out like water on a campfire.

"What about your magic?" Zane begins picking up empty tea cups and saucers.

Katara snaps her fingers and the dishes float up and gravitate to the kitchen, Katara points to the sink and the faucet turns on and starts scrubbing the dishes.

"Cool." Kit watches in awe.

Katara smiles warmly like she did when she had to hold onto me during the dance. Katara picks up the teapot and places it in it's home then hugs me from behind. Her arms smell like a campfire. She rests her chin on my shoulder, "You."

"Hm." Is my genius responds.

"I didn't finish my sentences from the other day. Morro Wu, I love you." Katara then kisses my cheek. Fifty newly discovered shades of red coat my face as she peels off of me and walks to port side. "You want another one Turbine?" She puts her hands on her hips as emotion rolls over my heart.

I stammered to my feet. "Duh."

"Sorry, you've got to work for this one." Katara falls backwards. Everyone rushes to see her fall, only she ignites her wings last second and sharply turns up at the water's edge, she splashes water droplets in our faces and giggles as she comes up to our level. She turns and flies away.

"Oh my spinjitzu, I love that woman." I jump over the side and fly after her with the wind pushing me. This is the best game of tag ever, Katara does swoops and dives and barrel rolls. I'd get inches away from her bare feet when she tilts sideways, her wings spray semi hot water on my face from the lake beneath us. We soar into the jungle and nearly take out a man riding a bike. He has purple mailman outfit and starts yelling at us. "SORRY!" I shout as Katara turns up and soars in the clouds. I follow like the love sick puppy I am. She flies back to the Bounty, a smirk comes over my face as I speed up and go under the belly of the bounty. I wait a millisecond then catch her by surprise as she comes overhead. "I got you." I smile in victory over the deck, Her feet find their way over mine and I keep us afloat. "I believe there was a prize mentioned?" I wrap my arms around the small of her back. Her arms lace themselves over my neck.

"Ask and you shall receive." Her eyes sparkle with the deep golden flecks. Then her lips find their way on to mine and the butterflies in my stomach explodes into sparkles.

"How cute." Nya comments with an, 'ah,' from Kit. I didn't realize but we managed to land in the middle of everybody.

"Spinoff." Katara breaks the kiss and covers the both of us in her large warm wings. She comes back to my lips. Her lips feel like a candle; warm, calm, and timeless.

(Willow's POV)

I think as my sister is teaching Morro about how long a kiss can go for, everyone looks at Sensei with the same look.

He sighs, "Just be back before dinner. It's Zane's turn tonight." Wu has a twinkle in his eye. Lloyd takes my hand and spins me into his arms. Unlike any other time he's held me, I let the blush in on my cheeks. He picks me up, bridal style and charges over the side of the ship, a light green dragon appears under us and flies us to New Ninjago City.

"I see that you still like the saddle, Greenie," I smirk as two more dragons follow us, a fiery red one and a white and titanium one.

"And you're still short, Rosie." Lloyd sounds giddy behind me as he holds the rines. Now our positions are me in front, his arms around me as he holds the rines from behind. His voice mutters something as Zane peels off towards Borg tower.

"The last time we rode together, we were interrupted by my sister. I don't think that's going to happen this time," I relax onto him as my tiny hands barely cover his. "And like last time, one of us isn't talkative."

"How'd you do it? For three years you knew me and loved me. But couldn't be with me. How can you even survive that kind of pain?" Lloyd quietly breaths his question into my right ear.

I snicker, I've been wondering that myself. "I think I knew that if I didn't do what I did, you'd be in even more pain the what ended up happening. Does that even make sense?" I feel his heartbeat on my back as city noise make themselves apparent.

"Girls." Lloyd shakes his head as we land in front of Doomsday comic shop. "Why can't ya just be an open book?" Lloyd opens the door for me.

"Because boys are the open books. And besides, I like being mysterious." I turn and poke his chest with each word. "Open. Book."

"Why, if it isn't Lloyd Hemord Garmadon. Looking for the latest starfar?" A dude with long brown hair in an orange t-shirt walks up behind us. "Who's the kid?"

"Excuse you!" I turn so fast I may have wiped Lloyd with my hair. "I'm an adult. I'm just short!"

"Easy Rosie." Lloyd holds the back of my shirt in attempt to hold me back. "Rufus was kidding. Mother Doomsday, meet Willow. My um.."

"Girlfriend?" Rufus wiggles his eyebrows.

(Lloyd's POV)

"Yes." I am now half-tempted to let Rosie go.

"Miss Willow, any friend of youngin' here, is a friend of mine. Feel free to look around. Oh, and comic are half priced for anyone under twenty-one." Rufus winks at me before retreating into a mountain of fresh comics. I feel my cheeks blush from embarrassment, I never told Rosie that I am technically fifteen.

"If he is talking about my height again," Rosie takes three angry steps before noticing I am not following. "You ok Greenie?"

"I don't think you were entirely right in your open book theory." I lean on a bookshelf and accidentally knock it over. "Whoa!" I quickly attempt to grab it before it falls. Luckily the only thing that falls off is a small book with a Fairy holding a wand on the teal cover. The title read, 'Fays, fact or fiction?'

"If you're trying to tell me you're clumsy, I already knew that." Rosie picks up the book but holds it in her hands. She opens it and shakes her head. "Right, wrong, wrong, definitely wrong. Stupid. Definitely stupid." She flips through the pages then stops cold.

"What's up?" I try looking at the page, only to see one thirty-nine as the page number before it is closed.

"It's nothing." Rosie looks up and doesn't meet my gaze. "Come on. Prince Donegan awaits." Rosie puts the book back on a shelf and walks to the comics. I manage to slip the book into my Gi and pay for it while she wasn't looking. With comics in our hands we stroll through the city as the afternoon sun is covered by clouds, we manage to find a park and read under a willow tree. Rosie leans on my shoulder while comics and books sit in between us. Soon she doesn't put down her comic and I look at her, she has her eyes closed and is breathing steadily. Moving slowly I switched my comic for the Fay book and flipped to page one thirty-nine. Only to find that Willow has anticipated this move as the page has been ripped out. What doesn't she want me to know? I think of possibilities as I put the book back. I want to ask, but the sleeping Rosie held me still.

(Kai's POV)

Come on. Get off the phone! I mentally shout as Skylor talks on the phone. The whole trip so far was her talking and me heading to a mystery destination.

"Yeah, I'm pulling up right now." Skylor points to the second tallest building in New Ninjago City, Mister Chen's financial building. "There's a dragon landing on the roof." Skylor pulls her hand back as I pull up.

I sigh as my dragon disappears over the roof. "One dragon Uber at your service."

"I'm here. Just give me a minute." Skylor tells me to follow with her hand up at me and walks to the roof access. She opens the door as I run after her. Inside cubicles with interns are furiously typing on desktops. Skylor mindlessly walks passed them to a big conferences room. The shiny wooden door opens to reveal three men in suits. One of them has sunglasses and a cheap haircut. The second looks older and has balding hair.

However, the third one catches my eyes a little more. He's taller than me, wears a simple three-piece suit, hazel eyes and short brown hair. He's clearly older than me but much younger then the other two men.

"Miss Chen, Are you ready?" The baldie holds up a golden pen.

Skylor hangs up and walks to him. I walk after her, on the oak table is a paper contract. Skylor quickly reads both sides of the papers. "I see that both parties will be happy." Skylor sounds unhappy as the pen gravitates away from the table. She glances at the third guy, who gives her a nod and a smile.

"Yes, we are even willing to pay double if you sign the severance today." The man with a bad haircut looks at his watch.

"What's going on?" I fold my arms. No one answers me, instead Skylor's pushes the pen down and signs.

"There." Skylor then stabs the table with the pen.

The two men sigh as she stands upright. The tirnd snickers and shakes his head.

"You'll receive the pay every week on Friday." The balding dude shakes his head as the other tries to take the pen out.

"Thank you." Skylor turns, "Now, I've have more personal things to do." She then nails a kiss on my lips. She intertwines her fingers into my human hand and push-walks us to the elevator.

"Ok, I really liked that. But what was it for?" I push the ground floor button as Skylor lets me breathe.

"I'm making this an official date now. Besides, I just gave over my company. I need something to make me happy." Skylor dives in for a second kiss as my medal hand stops her lips.

"More kisses, more info," I smirk. She explains that she wasn't doing well with the other board members. They proposed that if she were to hand over her percent, they'd always pay her and she can do whatever.

"So, I technically do and don't have a job." She swings my hand as we walk out of the building. The afternoon sun is blaring bright as very few people were around. "But I do get a boyfriend out of it." She swings my human arm so it fell over her shoulders.

"And don't forget, a dragon Uber service." I feel honored that she gave up her company for me.

"Ok Uber, let's find the nearest ice shop then." Skylor giggles as we walked to Thirty-fourth street.

(Jay's POV)

I wave to Cole and Seliel as they fly to the beach. "We'll catch up with you in an hour!"

"So why are we heading to the first spinjitzu master's tomb?" Nya asks as our fusion dragon dissipates. Cole waves as Seliel gains control of the dragon.

"Just trust me." I walk in through the exit. In my left hand is a small box which makes it hard to climb in. Nya ends up taking us both up to the maze with her airjitzu.

"This is so cool." Nya lets me go and stare at her reflection. Her reflection shows longer hair and laugh lines around her eyes.

"And I'm still getting that eyepatch apparently." I nervily shuffle to her left. My reflection shows me with a goatee and a black eyepatch. I close my eyes as I am getting overwhelmed. Remember what Kai said, I'd be proud to have you as a brother-in-law as well as my brother.

"There's something else." Nya looks at her future's left hand as I gather my courage and slide to one knee.

"I think I know what it is." I hold the box in my left hand and hold her left hand in my right. Nya look at me and her eyes travel to the ring that I spent some precious allowance getting.

"If this is a dream.." Nya trails off as she looks at the ring. The image is burned into my mind, a silver size seven ring with baby blue sapphires leading into the large teal one in the center.

"Nya Daisy Smith, you are the most amazing women in the whole realm. And I know we have a future together, I wanted you to see it as well." I take deep breaths as I look into her amber eyes. "I know we haven't dated for a long time, but we've known each other for much longer. Will you make me the happiest man and marry me?"

Pause. Nya could have been etched into the ice wall with how long she takes responding.

Stupid Jay. You jumped the gun. SHe's going to say no. Bad Jay! I mentally kick myself. Then Nya moves, her left ring finger slides gracefully into the ring and holds it to her face.

"Why'd ya take your time, Walker?" Nya smile as joy overtakes my insecurities.

I dropped the box as Nya pulled me to my feet. "You mean?"

"Yes. I'll make you the happiest man in Ninjago." Nya was no longer my girlfriend. Now she is my fiancee.

(Seliel's POV)

"That was close!" I run to the Ferris wheel ride and land in the seat next to Cole. In my hands are two cake pops. The ride lifts us as two shopkeepers shake their fists at me. We find a cheap boardwalk and decided, why not have a date here. Is it a date? I mean I like him..but I haven't been out since....no. Don't think about him.

"What was close?" Cole pulls his lips into a repressed smile.

"Umm...Here." I can't find a decent lie and hand him a chocolate cake pop.

"Did you steal these Pokie?" A childish grin overtakes his face as he accepts. Mischief twinkles in his dark brown eyes.

"Maybe I did Brickboy." I bite into mine, a vanilla with strawberry flavor enters my mouth. "Maybe I didn't."

Cole gives me a questioning look.

"Fine, I took them, it's only because these uniforms don't have pockets." I point to my Phantom Ninja armor. In truth, I forgot my wallet. I was exhausted, I spent two days buried in work trying to evade my misery.

"Next time, try to grab more than two." Cole smiles as he shoves his wholly in.

Zaaap! ZIS! The Ferris wheel stops with us at the very top.

"Attention," A wimpy voice says through a boom mic as a red firetruck pulls up at the check in, "This ride is experiencing technical difficulties. Please remain calm as the fire department gets here."

"Perfect." I roll my eyes.

"I could get us out before they noticed that we didn't check in." Cole peers at our landscape. Another Ferris wheel is working and is close to us as it spins down to a small vending cart. But there's also a Skylift that's about fifty feet from us.

An idea comes to mind and I probably was going to get pranked for this....But it is so worth it. I start rocking our cart.

"HEy!" Cole screams and grips the side. "Cut it out!"

I just laugh as he keeps protesting that melt into laughter. I can just tell he isn't scared of heights, mostly because he joins in the swinging too.

"STOP that YOU two!" The annoying voice yells at us. "I don't recognize you."

"About that escape plan?" I giggle as the swinging stops.

"Just hold tight." Cole undoes the restraints and picks me up bridal style. He jumps into the air and soars to the sky lift via airgjituze. An empty car draws near as we land there. "Are you comfortable?" Cole wiggles his eyebrows as heat rises in my cheeks.

"When you say escape plan," I tried to force my blush down, "I thought you meant as in out of here."

The Skylift is the size of a loveseat but I can't sit on the medal of the chair without falling off...however, this forces me to lay horizontally on Cole's lap.

"But we have at least three hours. Might as well spend it here." Cole smiles as I welcome our position. His hands play with my hair was we watch security try to shouting at us to get down.

(Zane's POV)

"Hello? Dr. Borge?" Pixel knocks on the window outside the one-hundredth floor of Borge tower. I am still getting use to her being the new Samurai X.

"Zane?" Borge notices up and opens the window, "Who's your friend?"

"It's a long story." I then explain all the clues that were under my nose as I hop into the building with Pixel in tow.

"Pixel," Borg adjusted his glasses. "Oh, my. I thought I'd never see you again."

"And I'm glad to be back." Pixel tugs at her helmet.

"But?"

"But I'm nostalgic for my old face. I know it's silly.."

I slip my hands into her's, "It's not. I too feel like that. More often than I realized."

"I might have a solution to that." Borg rolls over to his desk, "I always make a spare." He holds up a dark silver face plate of Pixel's original face. "It wouldn't take long either."

"I..um." Pixel, with her free hand tugs at the helmet.

I squeeze her hand and smiles at the idea of seeing her original face again, "If you'd like to, that I'm fine with it." I feel my motherboard work over time to level my synthetic hormone levels.

"Then let's get started." Pixel lets go of the helmet as Borg closes the shades and turns on a machine.
