Samuel POV
"Huuuh" I gasped for breath as I shot up. As the fog in my eyes cleared, I noticed that I wasn't in a hospital, but rather a catacombs like area. I hopped off the small cot and grabbed the clothes sitting on a chair next to the bed. As I was changing, I noticed the two long stitched up scars that ran up my torso and face. Suddenly I heard foot steps behind me. "So I guess this is what you wanted to show me, Eh Victor" I said, not even turning around. " You always were too keen for your own good, Weizz cracker." Victor spouts back, using the ridiculous nickname he gave me back in 3rd grade. I turned around to face him. He was scrawny and pale, having spent most of his life in the library unlike me who had grown up at the zoo. His fire red hair stuck out all over the place and a shotgun blast of freckles adorned his face. He had on a lab coat over what looked like plaid pj's and on his feet were a pair of grey bunny slippers. "Still as unprofessional as ever I see" I said back. "Ex-excuse me, Mr. Weizz was it. Would you mind putting on a shirt. It indecent." I looked over to see a short Japanese girl, roughly my age, with blue dyed hair in a ponytail to keep it out of her face, and dressed in a lab coat as well, peeking out behind Victor. "Hey Victor, whose the runt" I say as I throw on the Nirvana shirt Vic had left out for me. At the word runt, the girl shot up. "I am not a runt! You two are just freakishly tall" she shouted " and if you must know, my name is Himiko Fujiko. I'm Victor's lab partner." " Yeah yeah that's great. Hey Vic you gotta light" I say, pulling a cigarette from the pocket of the cargo pants I'm wearing. Vic tosses me a red and black skull zippo and I light the cigarette, taking a long drag from it before blowing out rings and even a skull. "Show off" Vic says "but seriously man, how are you so calm. I mean you were dead." I shot him a look before responding. "We both know I've been dead for a while Vic. Anyway, I'm guessing bringing me back wasn't the only thing you wanted to show me." At this Vic shot up and said " follow me, this is gonna blow your mind" I run after him, with Himiko following close behind. We go down a hallway to a large central room, holding several screens, a large central computer, and a library's worth of old books. "This" Vic said " is the Anomolistic Reasearch and Control Center or ARCC for short. You see ever since I moved to Hawaii, I've discovered that it is a portal for all kinds of crazy baddies from mythology and folklore. And some of those this are hurting people. This is why I called you. With my inventions, Himiko's computer skills, and your strength and new zombie body, we can stop these things. So what do you say, partner" Vic finishes by sticking out his hand. I think for a moment before shaking his hand and say " you got it, partner"
