The Murderer?
Neal McDonough as Mr Doug

Alison's P.O.V
The school bell rung, breaking me from my thoughts. I was standing in the crowded hall of GreenWood High. My books and binders in my hand felt heavier and heavier as my eyelids began to close, despite me trying hard not to fall asleep. Last night was horrible. I wasn't able to sleep a wink because of the horrifying nightmares I had. Nightmares of my dad, my friends and my brother who still hadn't contacted me. I was furious.
Many questions were still left unanswered. I shook my head, dismissing any signs of lack of sleep from my eyes and squeezed through the lines of kids in a hurry to get to class. I had seen Walter pass by but he did not look my way. He was right to be mad but he should understand that I had to respect my brother's wishes. It wouldn't look right if all five of us were caught in an abandoned building meeting a guy who was supposed to be dead. Besides, he was just their friend but with me, his relationship was totally different. He was my twin, my other half. I had every right to meet him.
I entered the class to which I saw Kennedy pat the seat next to her but before I could sit, Nathaniel sat down. Kennedy shot me an apologetic look to which I just smiled, reassuringly. Nathaniel was pretty chatty despite going through so much at such a young age. Losing both of his parents and moving here and there, that had to be tough. Yet, he still held up his head high and smiled through the pain, a trait that I admire a lot.
I sat at the near end. I took my unfinished homework out and turned it in. Class started. We learned about the native Americans and how they survived in the early days when there was no electricity or gas. Class ended after a long hour. I was about to leave the class when my teacher, Ms. Farmakowski, called me back. I gulped as I went towards her. She wasn't a very nice teacher but she wasn't very mean either. It just depended on her mood. She could be very friendly or very harsh at times. I went towards her desk and sat down on one of the chairs near her.
"Yes, Ms Farmakowski?" I asked, pretending not to be nervous. She took her binder out and opened to a particular page. The page with all my marks on it.
"Please take a look at these." I pulled the binder towards myself and stole a glance at all of my marks. I was failing.
"Alison, your marks are going far below the average. If you don't get an A in the next two assignments then I'm afraid I will have to fail you."
I shook my head. "I'm so sorry, Ms F. I will study harder and I will get my grades going up," I promised. Ms F smiled at me.
"I know you're hurting, Alison. After what happened, I understand it's hard to manage both your life and your studies. But, think about what your brother would want. He would want you to move on with your life and be happy. Build a future for yourself and for that you need to concentrate on your studies."
I nodded. "Ms F, I'm just trying to get my life together. I will try and study harder."
"I'm glad you are willing to try. Now, how will you study harder?" I stayed silent.
"I suppose a tutor will be a good idea." In my head, I was screaming. Please, no tutors. I hated studying from a tutor. Instead of voicing my thoughts, I just nodded.
"Great, now I've got the best person to tutor you." I narrowed my eyes, asking her to go on.
"Nathaniel Vivian." I groaned.

So, now I was in the cafeteria, sitting with Hayley and her girls. Kennedy, Tris and Callie decided to join us too. Walter, however, was sitting with his friends from the basketball team. According to Callie, he said that he didn't want to be around liars.
We were just talking about girly stuff when I saw Nathaniel approach us. He waved at the girls and I. We waved back.
"Hey, you up for tomorrow night?" I narrowed my eyes. The girls looked at us, confusingly.
"Tomorrow?" I asked. He nodded. "Ms F just told me that you agreed to let me tutor you. So, I was thinking maybe I could come over tomorrow night."
I nodded. "Yeah, sure. I'm free tomorrow." He nodded, flashed a smile and left. The girls smirked.
"What?" I asked to which they shook their heads. "Nothing," they replied. We all resumed our usual gossip. I looked over at Walter, every now and then, wondering when he will forgive me. A few minutes were left till lunch ended so I packed up my stuff and left the cafeteria, along with Tris.
"Hey, don't worry." I turned towards her as we walked over to my locker.
"Huh?" Tris handed me my binder which she was holding. I opened my locker.
"About Walter. He is just worried about the whole situation. Especially Jennith. Jennith's murder took a toll on him. He is suppressing everything he is feeling. He has all sorts of emotions trapped inside of him. Rage, fear, and mostly oblivion."
I nodded, letting that sink in. Now, was not the time to hold grudges against one another. I took out my chemistry textbook and shut the locker door.
"Speaking of Jennith's murder, what happened to the case?" I asked. It had been weeks since Jennith falsely died and we hadn't heard anything about the case yet.
"Maybe the police are still investigating." The next class was chemistry. Tris and I headed over to the chemistry lab. Our chem teacher was really weird. He was short, like extremely short, and he always wore those nerdy glasses even though he claimed that he never really needed them and that his eyesight was fine. Whenever he was alone, he would be mumbling into thin air. But, he was a really good chemist. He knew almost everything there was to know about chemistry.
We entered our class and sat together on our usual spot. The bell rung as class started. We were learning about chemical reactivity. I opened my textbook and turned to the page that we were reading when all of a sudden, somebody kicked the door open. Everyone screamed as two officers entered. I immediately recognized them. They were the two officers who questioned us.
Pointing a gun at the chemistry teacher, they said, "You are under arrest for the murder of Jennith Marin Terry." My mouth reached the ground. Everyone was surprised, including the teacher.
The police officers lowered their gun as Mr Doug raised his hands up, in surrender. They neared him and roughly put his hands behind his back.
"You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in the court of law." Mr Doug didn't utter a single word. The police officers handcuffed him and took him away, leaving all of us in shock.
