A PLETHORA OF DIFFERENT EMOTIONS coursed through my mind at what I was seeing. A passionate mix of touches and kisses being shared between the person I gave everything to and the petty excuse you call a person. The warm sun beat shone radiantly in the late morning which poured through the large windows in Melodrama Cafe. The warm smell of freshly brewed coffee wafted through the air, filling my empty stomach.
But what I was craving wasn't breakfast. It was an explanation for the excruciating sight I had the pleasure of viewing. I mean how could he go out of his own free will and do such a thing to me. I gave him everything and tried to be a good girlfriend, but obviously my efforts weren't enough.
I clenched my fists tightly and glared directly at them. But they were too busy kissing to notice anything. Almost being swept into the land of oblivion I was carried to every time I was with him.
"Trust me, clenching your fists and having a resting bitch face is not going to fix anything hon. Just drop it and move on with your life." The waitress said handing me my cup of iced tea. Her auburn hair was tied back loosely into a messy bun and her pale skin was beaming with all of the sunlight.
I payed for my drink and found a table in the back and decided to camp out there so I could continue to low key gaze with anger. I know moping wasn't going to solve any of my dilemmas, Abut it would certainly make me feel better about myself right now.
"AURORA EVELYN ADELAIDE SKY, WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK ARE YOU DOING HERE?" A familiar voice yelled which caused a few heads to be turned. I turned around and saw a familiar pair of blue eyes and blonde hair topped off with a very enthusiastic smile.
Enter Chelsea Waters, the most positive beam of light you will ever meet. Literally, her positivity radiates off of her like the sun and spreads everywhere making you feel better instantly. All five feet nine inches of her radiate some form of positivity
I remember the day we met vividly, like it was yesterday. I was sitting in Melodrama Cafe yelling in frustration as I was trying to finish a paper for AP English. It was honestly so annoying having to proofread for errors or informal choice of vocabulary. I picked up my iPhone and flung it across the room and unfortunately it hit her in the face. Long story short, we made up and eventually became friends.
"Well hoe, my father is in Dubai for a meeting so we're traveling in July."
"Then why aren't you packing? This summer is gonna be lit and July is in twenty four days!" She yelled at the top of her lungs capacity.
"First off we have veinte y cuatro mas dias till July. Twenty four fucking days and you find it beneficial to start packing now?" I questioned. "Plus, I can't leave until I get answers from those two over there." Slightly hinting Taylor & Chloe's dalliance.
Chelsea turned her head. "What are you doing?" I hissed.
"Nothing really," she said. "Isn't that Taylor?" She said loudly. "Hi Taylor!" She continued to yell. I looked at my hooligan of a best friend and shook my head as I face palmed and questioned life, then and there. Did I mention how much of an airhead she could be sometimes?
Thankfully he didn't notice anything, or at least didn't acknowledge anything that was happening, even though she was flailing her arms and making a scene like she was about to die on the titanic or something. "Why are you face palming? He's your boyfriend and his cousin surprisingly is hot!" She said making absolutely no sense.
"Chelsea," I sighed, "that girl over there is not Taylor's cousin. That is Chloe Jennings and she so happens to be making out with the boy I once called my boyfriend!"
"Awe Adele. Why didn't you say so before? This is honestly so messed up. He's being a big bully to you!" I looked at her with a resting bitch gaze. I wonder how she even made it past kindergarten sometimes. In fact, I wonder how we all made it past kindergarten.
"I have tried communicating that with you in so many different languages and ways that it's impossible now." I whispered.
"Well we just can't sit around here and do nothing!" She replied.
"Bitch I've been spilling tea all this while."
"Let's go get us a fresh pair of castrated balls to hang in our rendezvous!" She said grabbing her cup of iced tea as we strutted over there. Honestly, I'm not mad that he cheated on me because why would I? I'm mad about how he didn't call me and say "Hi Aurora, I'm about to break up with you right now because Chloe is more attractive than you". But I guess different minds work differently. We usually never saw eye to eye anyway.
"WHAT EVEN? AM I SUDDENLY NOT ENOUGH FOR YOU ANYMORE? DID THOSE TWELVE MONTHS THAT WE SPENT TOGETHER MEAN ANYTHING TO YOU?" I yelled loudly catching the attention of almost everyone in the cafe. Even the baristas stopped mixing just to spectate. All the rage that was kept inside was freed from its cage ready to pounce at anything.
"Hi Aurora, I didn't know you were in town." He replied casually.
"Oh, so if I wasn't here, you were gonna hit her up and make a baby?" I asked.
"What are you talking about Aurora Sky? I'm clearly studying the human anatomy with her because I'm in summer school."
"Oh yeah, I didn't know studying the human anatomy involved feeling her boobs and brushing up against her lips! In fact why don't we all get physical with each other while attempting to study it."
"It's a more effective way of studying." He defended. "Right Chelsea?"
"Definitely!" She replied. I rolled my eyes in her direction.
"First of all, we're doing Physics and it may be physical science but definitely not the kind where a human test dummy is needed. Bottom line, I know you're cheating on me."
"Congratulations Aurora for finally using your brain and cracking the code ; Taylor doesn't love you girl, he's only here to score another person's flower which he hasn't obviously with you so he gave up." Chloe spat placing a kiss on his face.
"Well, I can't say no to that anyway so what if I am? I'm just done with you, sorry Aurora." He said barely looking up.
I stood there frozen just staring. I didn't feel anything. I tried to say something, but no words would come out. "You're a really big meanie who doesn't deserve anyone, rot in hell you raisin - penised, STD - spreading man whore. I hope you get an STD and die!" Chelsea replied. Finally, this girl actually has brain cells in there. Just kidding, she's smart as hell.
Before Taylor could open his mouth to say anything hurtful to Chelsea, I swiftly tipped the cup over his head, watching liquid drench his expensive Gucci shirt and ruin his perfectly tousled dirty blonde hair. Little droplets crystalized on his Ray Ban sunglasses and his facial expression went from relaxed and nonchalant to infuriated in a matter of seconds. Before he could do anything , Chelsea and I were sprinting the hell away from the cafe.
"DID YOU DRIVE OR UBER?" I asked her as we dashed out of the place.
"UBER. CAN I CATCH A RIDE WITH YOU?" She asked as we made it safely to my white BMW i8 that I got for my seventeenth birthday. It still had the glow of a new car even though I've had it since April. I pressed the 'open' button and watched the door ascend into the sky. We hopped in, started the engine, and listened immediately as 90210 by Blackbear started to play with us screaming the lyrics as we sped down the highway headed towards Downtown Los Angeles.
As I continued to drive and chill with my best friend who is a total airhead I slowly started to forget what had just happened. As much as it hurt thinking about it, I realized I'm a stronger person without him. I felt free as a bird, sailing across the sky without him.
I'm only getting stronger without him and shall remain that way regardless.

"MAN I LEGIT GET SO scared when you drive." Chelsea said stumbling behind me as we exited my car heading into my house. I don't necessarily actually live here though. When I'm not in school, I'm living in London with my sister Danielle and my younger brother Nash. My parents aren't separated or anything, my dad just works there.
"My driving isn't that bad anyway." I replied heading to the kitchen. I opened the fridge door and was greeted by a fridge full of Chipotle leftovers. "Mm, Chipotle!"
"Oh hell no hoe are you gonna steal my taco bowl!" My twin sister, Adrianna yelled as she stormed into the kitchen. The soft click of her tennis shoes echoed throughout the kitchen as she swooped down to remove her food.
"But it's the only thing I actually wanna eat right now!" I replied.
"Yo she has a legitimate reason, Taylor just dumped her." Chelsea hinted.
"He did what? Excuse me?" She asked in bewilderment. She dropped her Chipotle on the table which caused a loud thud.
"It's ok Ade, let it all go. I'm fine anyways, honestly could care less." I beamed. That's a legitimate thought. I don't need him and honestly I feel like I am better off without him. I looked at Adrianna. She had an "are you on steroids" look on her face and her eyebrows were furrowed.
"Aurora Evelyn Adelaide Sky," she said sternly. "Anyone who still has a brain knows that after a breakup, no one is fine. No persona."
"But I'm not like most people."
"Ya we ain't like most people. We're so crazy and act like we're on crack 99% of the time." Chelsea said as she twerked lightly cuing me to join in.
"CRACK SQUAD!" Chelsea and I yelled in unison as we linked arms and continued to busy moved. Adrianna looked at us and shook her head before disappearing into thin air. We fell on the floor, erupting in pits of laughter. Our brief moment was disrupted by a loud notification on Chelsea's phone.
"Hold up, gotta see what this is." She yelled as she crawled over to the kitchen table and kneeling down to grasp for her phone which was lying face down on a bar table. I continued to lay supinely on the cold, slippery marble floor, staring out of the large bay windows. We had such an enchanting view of the mountains that backed our house. Especially at night time when the sun starts to disappear between the peaks as it's last rays saturated our house, pouring through the windows.
She walked back with a very cheeky smile on her face and her face looking like she had something very euphoric to say. "Anything new on Instagram? Did John Matthews finally notice you?" I asked rolling over on my stomach placing my head on her thigh, looking over.
"Please girl. I go to the same school as that hoe and no, something even more galvanizing is happening." She gushed throwing her hands in the air.
"Well, you're using an actual vocabulary for once and you are more euphoric than ever so spill hoe!"
"YOU GOT IN HOE!" She exploded. I looked at her in shock. Got into what? Last time I checked, the last thing I applied to was a website to get free makeup and got waitlisted instead.
"I GOT INTO THE MAKEUP THING?" I asked.
"Oh hell no. I'm talking about the school, Millennium Academy, where I kinda filled out an application for you and you somehow got in." She replied shaking her body as she continued to dance with glee.
I had no words. "You did what?" I have never loved my best friend even more right now.
"I hope you're not triggered though. I can tell them to not enroll you for next semester." She suggested as her mood went from high key excited to low key excited. Her eyes kept darting back and forth making her look more nervous than necessary.
"Fam, I've never loved you more! Thank you so much!" I exclaimed wrapping her into a hug. We lost our balance and fell over onto the floor, clambering to get off of each other.
"Anything for my main. I'll inform the squad that you're coming their way soon. Don't worry, they'll love you, especially this girl named Cara —" she rambled.

I COLLAPSED ON MY BED at around 10:45. I stared out of the large glass pane that made up a wall on the right side of the room, looking beyond the horizon. Today was a series of plot twists and turns which all concluded to be beneficial in a way. I looked over on my beside table when my eyes landed on one picture — a happy selfie of Taylor and I at the beach.
I picked up the frame and flung it across the room into the trash can. I decided to clear every last trace of evidence that we actually dated. I had already deleted all of the pictures we've taken from my camera roll and am on the verge of burning all of his hoodies. I am moving on completely with my life.
Maybe changing schools wouldn't be such a bad thing. One upside is I'm across the country, miles away from my anathema of an ex and the girl who gives me suicidal thoughts by just looking at her.
Maybe it could be one step closer to finding a guy I promised I'd find eventually. He's been a vague memory in the back of my head ever since that day. I swore to myself I would find him and I am about to carry that out.
