Akala's P.O.V

I woke up to Echo(in pic) nudging me her warm soft pink tongue licking my face gingerly. I stroke her fur her amber eyes watching me,

"Did the little girl wake up Echo?" I asked her. She got out my grasp and spun around swiftly and sat down and put her paws up panting.

"Alright I'm up." I got up out of my bed took a shower putting on my black leather jumpsuit and my black combat boots and my black leather gloves. I put my two-sided retractable sword in its sheath behind my back and walk out with Echo at my side. We both enter the little girl's hospital room to find her scared and confused. Echo sits in the corner of the room.

"w-who are you?" She stutters.

"I'm Akala, this is Echo...who are you?"

"I'm Catalina... where's my parents?" She asked.

I hug my head down and explained... "By the time we got there everyone was dead, you I found were still alive but barely..." I sighed sadly and continued "your parents they didn't make it."

"They're gone." She whispers

"Yeah..." I sigh sadly. She tears up and she cried her little heart out. I could help but feel pity for the girl. I hug her

"I'll be your big sister and look after you." I smile softly.

"You will?" She asked her little brown eyes reddish and puffy from crying.

"Yes I will Lina." I tickle her in which she squeals in surprise. I signal Echo to come over. She walks over and stands on her hind legs with her front paws on the hospital bed. Catalina holds out her hand and Echo sniffs it and let a small part of her tongue and licks her hand. Catalina giggles.

"That tickles." I smiled at her. I hear someone clear there throat and I see my mother standing in the doorway. I stand and signaled Echo to keep Lina company, I excuse myself and walk out the hospital door.

"Hey mom." I muttered.

"Akala...did you inform the asset of our current status I want her trained and ready for missions soon." She barked

"No I didn't I didn't mention it to Catalina seeing the fact she just woke up and found out her parents were DOA I just thought I'd grieve with her then tell her the present situation." I explained. I watched her eyes go narrow.

"You thought wrong you present status first and empathize later." She hissed venom laced every word she spoke.

"Not when it's a child mother you can't do that to her she just lost her parents she needs someone whose going to be there for her. Not be emotionally destroyed like I am." I say equally as coldly. Her hand moved to quickly for me dodge and my face was turned to the side... she slapped me. I touched my face and it stung. I can feel my eyes began to tear up.

"How dare you speak to me in such a manner child, I am your mother and you respect my choices especially in are present situation." She says in a mixture of anger and disbelief. "Get out of my face." She spat. I went back into the room with Catalina.

"Echo we got to go now Lina needs to rest. We'll see you tomorrow Lina." I say shakily my voice cracking a little.

"Okay Akala bye."

Echo knew something was wrong and rushed to my side and I rushed out the door back to my room. Echo ran to keep up with me. I fell on my bed and cried.
