Out On The Town

*I don't own Transformers or anything affiliated with Transformers. I only own my original characters and plots. All rights go to Michael Bay and Steven Spielberg.*

My phone's loud ring tone echoed throughout my room. I put down my box of Lucky Charms and picked it up off of the table. The caller ID read: Braelynn Stone. I swallowed the last bit of my cereal and answered it.

"Hello?"

"Hey. Wanna hang out today?" she asked me.

I reached into the box of cereal and pulled out a handful before shoving them into my mouth.

"Sure. What do you want to do?" I asked with a mouthful of cereal.

"Wait, what are you eating?"

"Lucky Charms," I answered.

I heard her chuckle. "Why am I not surprised?"

"Don't knock on my diet. What are we going to do, Brae?" I asked her.

"We're going to go to the mall and then we're going to go out to eat," she explained.

"Okay. Sounds good. I'm going to need a little bit of time to get ready though."

"That's fine. I have to get ready as well. I'll see you soon. Bye! I love you!" she said and hung up.

I placed my phone down on my bedside table and got up to look for something to wear. After rummaging through my closet for twenty minutes I finally found the perfect outfit. I put on a white tank that read 'NEW' along with a black leather jacket, my black jeans and my black combat boots.

Satisfied with my outfit, I grabbed my phone and texted Braelynn to tell her that I was ready. She texted back a few minutes later to inform me that she was on her way. I placed my phone down in my bag and ran downstairs. The only ones to be seen were my mom and a sleeping Annabelle. I figured that much since Ron and my dad have been back up at the base.

I plopped down on the recliner across from my mom causing her to look at me.

"What are you all dressed up for?" she asked me.

I pursed my lips. "I forgot to ask you. Can I go shopping with Braelynn?"

She raised an eyebrow at me and I laughed.

"I guess so. How much money do you have?" she asked me.

"About two hundred," I answered.

She reached into her pocket and took out a wad of money and handed it to me. I gaped at her. I counted out three hundred dollars.

"Why are you giving me this?" I asked her.

"Probably because it's your dad's and I'm feeling very generous," she laughed.

I snickered and shoved the wad of money into my bag. "Well thank you."

"You're most certainly welcome. Be careful though. And bring me back some cheesecake."

"Cheesecake? Why cheesecake?" I asked her.

"I'm craving it."

My eyes widened. "Are you pregnant?"

"Lord, no. I just want some cheesecake," she laughed.

"Okay good." There was a honk out front, so I pulled my bag over my shoulder and got up.

"Bye, Lea!" my mom called as I opened the front door.

"Bye. Love you!"

I shut the door and quickly walked towards Braelynn's car. After opening the passenger's side door, I got in and soon we were out of my driveway and heading down the road.

"So, how's Lea today?" Braelynn asked me.

"I'm alright. I didn't get to finish my Lucky Charms, but it'll be okay."

"You're such a dork. So, Trent is still in the hospital," she told me.

I looked at her. "Really? Why? It's been like four days."

"Well, for one you broke both his ulna and his radius. Not to mention you also severed most of the ligaments and tendons in his arm. They're trying to fix them," she explained.

I giggled. "Whoops."

She laughed and shook her head. "You are so bad, Azalea."

"I'm really not. I just feel as if though he deserved that," I told her.

"True, but still."

"Let's not talk about Trent," I suggested.

"Okay. Well, where do you want to eat?" she asked me.

"Let's shop first and then I'll tell you."

"Well, alright then."

After about five more minutes of driving Braelynn finally pulled in the mall parking lot. She soon found a parking spot near the entrance of the building and after coming to a stop, I quickly got out, Braelynn following shortly after me.

"To Charlotte Russe we go!" Braelynn exclaimed as she skipped towards the mall entrance.

I playfully rolled my eyes at her. This was going to be a long day.

"That was absolute torture," I grumbled as I walked outside.

"It wasn't that bad," Braelynn countered.

I scoffed.

We had been at the mall for four hours and I was stuck watching Braelynn try on clothes the whole time. She ended up buying over four hundred dollars worth of clothes while I had barely spent one hundred.

Her car beeped as we approached it and I opened up the back door and threw my three shopping bags in the backseat while Braelynn tossed all eleven of hers in.

"Let's just go eat," I told her and hopped in the passenger's seat.

She got into the driver's seat and started the car. It wasn't long before we were out of the mall parking lot and back on the freeway.

"Well, where do you want to go?" she asked me.

I thought for a moment before finally answering her. "Let's just go to Taco Bell. I wanna sit outside though. I've been indoors too long."

Braelynn chuckled. "I was actually hoping you would say Taco Bell."

"I figured that much," I stated.

Braelynn pulled off on an exit that lead to one of the many Taco Bell's here in Tacoma. The drive to Taco Bell only took us about ten more minutes. Braelynn was possibly more excited than I was at the sight of the restaurant. She wasted no time in parking and running inside to order. I followed after her as quickly as I could.

After Braelynn finished placing her order and paying for it, it was my turn. I ordered a Nacho Bell Grande and paid for it before getting my drink. I filled my cup up with Pepsi and went to wait for my food with Braelynn. We waited for about five minutes before they finally called our numbers. Each of us grabbed our trays of food and headed out the doors to the small outside dining area.

"So, how's life at home treating you?" Braelynn asked me as I sat down and started eating.

"Pretty well, I guess."

"How's Ron?" she smirked.

"I have no clue. I haven't really seen him or my dad in a few days. They've been up at the base for the past two days," I answered.

"Well."

I looked at her and sighed.

"Why do you seem to think I have some sort of crush on Ron?" I asked her.

She giggled and took a bite of her taco. "Because you do, silly."

I rolled my eyes at her. "Whatever your deluded little mind wants to think." I threw a nacho into my mouth.

"You know, I'll never understand why they chained a Taco Bell to all these other stores," Braelynn stated as she looked around at all the passing cars and pedestrians.

"Why don't you ask them?"

"Because I just don't care that much," she answered me.

"You're insane," I told her.

"Oh, I'm well aware."

I giggled and went to put another chip in my mouth but was cut off by a loud explosion. People began screaming and running down the streets in a panic. Braelynn stood up and ran inside the building. I followed her as she ran out the front entrance. She came to a sudden stop causing me to run into her. I steadied myself and turned my attention towards the object she was so focused on.

My eyes widened in fear as I stared at the twenty foot tall robot in front of my eyes. It was just like the one Braelynn had described at my house just last week and it could very well be one of the Decepticons Ron was talking about.

"Is that. ."

I couldn't even finish my question. I was far too frightened. After receiving a small nod from Braelynn, I gulped. The robot cocked its fairly large cannon and aimed it at the boutique next door to us. People were still running along the streets just trying to get away from the menacing monster. Another loud explosion sounded, this time shaking the ground at a momentum great enough to knock my best friend and I to the ground.

"We have to get out of here now," Braelynn exclaimed as she pulled me up with her.

"How are we supposed to do that? You left the keys back there on the table."

"We run."

My eyes widened and another shot sounded. "I can't run."

"You have to try! Now come on!" she yelled as she grabbed me by my hand.

She began pulling me down the crowded streets and I tried as hard as I possibly could to keep up but it just wasn't quite working. A sharp pain coursed through my once injured knee and soon I was on the ground. I had pushed myself too far and there was no way I would be able to get up. This is exactly what Ratchet had instructed me not to do.

Braelynn skidded to a stop and I looked at her. She gave me a frightened look and kneeled down to my level.

"You have to get up, Lea."

"I can't. I really can't, Brae," I told her.

A shot sounded causing her to look behind me. Her eyes widened in horror and she began yanking on my arm.

"No. You have to get up. You'll die if you don't and I am not going to let that happen," she exclaimed.

"Listen, I'm going to be okay. You need to go. Now."

The angry, yet sad tears were building up in her eyes. "I can't just leave you here!"

"You have to. I'll be fine. I promise. Now, go!" I demanded.

She hesitated before getting up and running back down the street.

More and more shots sounded along with more and more screams. I turned my head just enough to see three more large robots entering the scene, all of them oddly familiar to me in some way. One was a green-yellow color while the one beside him was all black. The last one was covered from head to toe in blue and red flame decals, very similar to the truck I had seen on my almost fatal run a few weeks ago. He was bigger than the other two and seemed to be the leader of the group.

Just looking at them made me feel like my heart was about to burst from my chest. By this point I was beyond frightened.

The black robot, who was armed with two very large cannons on either arm, shot the silver bot directly in the chest which sent him flying through the air towards the direction in which I was. Quickly, I scooted as far away from the middle of the street as I could. The robot ended up hitting a tractor trailer that was parked in the middle of the road along with several other vehicles. I flinched away as a new explosion rattled my eardrums.

By now I was one of the few people left on the street. Everyone in the square had managed to make their escape but being half crippled didn't help me in that particular department.

The sound of scraping metal caught my attention and I turned to see the silver bot attempting to get up. This was absolutely crazy. How had that explosion not killed him?

Beside me, a large mechanical foot stomped down and I shifted backwards. As I looked up I saw the flame covered bot stalking towards the silver robot. The other two were following closely behind him.

The silver bot sat up slowly. For a moment he met my eyes. His crimson red optics bore into my light blue eyes and what appeared to be a sinister smile was on his face. I shivered.

He raised his gun and aimed it in my direction though he fired and missed, sending the bullet flying towards the building I was currently hiding beside.

I gasped and tried to scramble away as fast as I could, but only got about seven feet. I screamed as several pounds of drywall from the building fell on top of me. Surprisingly, it didn't hurt much but that may have been due to the amount of adrenaline in my system. The only thing that was really bothering me at the moment was the pain in my knee, a strange numbness in the side of my head and the fact that I could hardly breathe.

Mustering up all the strength that I could, I began digging my way out of the small mountain of drywall. I could hear more shots and then the sound of a fighter jet flying by. After that, all was silent aside from hushed voices and small footsteps.

Each breath I took became shorter and shorter but soon I managed to push away the final slab of drywall, coughing as the fresh air entered my lungs. As I climbed out from underneath the debris my limbs suddenly gave out on me. I whimpered as I tumbled down to the sidewalk.

The adrenaline was leaving my body by the second and I could now feel everything. My knee was most definitely in need of medical care. There was also a very sharp and almost unbearable pain in the side of my head. I raised my trembling hand up to see if I could find the source of the pain and was shocked to find that my fingers were now covered in my own blood. My body ached all over and I was beginning to get incredibly lightheaded. Instead of trying to get up, I just laid on the ground and stared up, stars clouding my vision.

Very vaguely, I could still see three giant figures cautiously scanning the area around them. I assumed them to be the trio of robots. The black robot turned in my direction and looked up before spotting me down on the ground. His bright blue optics widened ever so slightly and he quickly spoke to the blue and red bot standing next to him.

Slowly, I could feel myself losing consciousness but I fought to keep my eyes open.

The black robot spoke frantically to the other two bots and soon he stalked over to me. I was far too weak to show how frightened I was. I could barely even keep my eyes open, so I just continued to lay there. Suddenly, I could feel myself being lifted. With what little vision I had left, I managed to make out the very faint image of the dark colored robot's face getting closer and closer to my own. Hoping that I was now in safe arms, I let the darkness consume me.
