Long Night

*I don't own Transformers or anything affiliated with Transformers. I only own my original characters and plots. All rights go to Michael Bay and Steven Spielberg.*

I was getting so sick and tired of school. All I wanted was for the end of May to come so I would finally be free of this place for three months. There were only two weeks until then, but it seemed to be dragging on and on and it would just continue to do so.

A sigh of relief escaped my mouth as the final bell rang. I grabbed my belongings and shoved them into my bag before heading out of the classroom with Braelynn on my tail. Once I got to my locker, I put in the combination and opened it up, Braelynn doing the same. After I finished putting the books into my locker I turned to look at Braelynn.

"Do you want to stay the night tonight?" I asked her.

She looked at me and smiled. "Sure. I'll just have to go home and grab my stuff first."

"That's fine. I'll see you in a little bit, okay?"

She nodded and walked off. I continued down the hallway and out of the school's main doors. By the curb, like normal sat Ironhide. I walked over to the truck and opened the passenger's door to get in, only to be stopped by the sight of my dad. I gave him a look.

"Why are you here?" I asked.

He scoffed. "It's nice to see you too, wonderful daughter of mine."

I shut the door and opened up the back door. I hopped in the truck and sat down in the middle, not bothering to put my seat belt on. I leaned forward when the truck began to move.

"No, but seriously. You never come with him to get me," I said to my dad.

He looked at me. "But normally I'm always home before school lets out. I wasn't this time, so yeah. And why aren't you wearing a seatbelt?"

I chuckled. "It's not like we're going to wreck."

Suddenly I was being pulled back to my seat. I tried to move forward but a seat belt was restricting me. I groaned.

"Asshole," I exclaimed as I kicked the seat. Ron only chuckled.

"You know, your mouth is becoming ridiculous," my dad chided.

"Some people happen to like my mouth very much," I grumbled while still trying to get out of the seat belt.

"Oh really?"

"Yep. Oh my gosh. Ironhide let me go," I exclaimed loudly.

The belt loosened but it didn't fully release me. I just gave up and sat back.

"You really shouldn't yell at me," Ron said. I rolled my eyes and my dad laughed.

"How can two men be so incredibly annoying?" I inquired.

"I know that doesn't change how you feel about us," my dad retorted.

He always had to go into this sentimental shit. "Of course not. But, I'd definitely love to bash both of your heads into brick walls."

"Good luck with that," Ron said.

"I have a question," I said.

My dad looked back at me. "What?"

"Can I go to a party with Braelynn tomorrow night?"

He raised a brow. "Where at?"

"A friend's."

Ron scoffed. "I wouldn't think Trent DeMarco to be your friend," he remarked.

Fuck him.

My dad laughed. "No. Absolutely not," he said.

I grimaced and rolled my eyes. "Fine. But is it okay if Braelynn stays tonight so we can just go ahead and go tomorrow?"

"Of course. She's always welcome."

I smiled. "Okay good. Tell mom to make a cake."

"For her birthday?" he asked.

"No. For me. I haven't had cake in the longest."

"Cake isn't good for your processors," Ron stated.

"But I don't have processors."

He chuckled and pulled into the driveway. The seat belt was pulled off of my body so I opened the door and hopped out of the truck before Ron, dad, and I walked into the house. I headed up the stairs and into my room to put my stuff away. I laid my bag down in the chair at my desk before heading over to my dressers.

I grabbed a grey hoodie and a pair of black leggings. After changing, I put my hair up in a messy bun and headed back downstairs. My dad was sitting on the couch now holding Annabelle while Ron was sitting at the opposite end. I plopped down in between them and propped my feet up onto the table. I grabbed the remote and changed the channel to Nikelodeon to see iCarly playing.

"Again, how old are you?" Ron baited.

I looked at him. "Seventeen. How old are you?" I retorted.

He shook his head. "You seem a little too old to be watching this kind of stuff," he told me.

"Let me live my life, okay? I don't have long left," I remarked.

He frowned and I suddenly realized what I said. I hugged his side, squeezing as hard as I could to try and comfort him, momentarily forgetting about my dad's presence in the room.

"Forget I said that please," I instructed.

He sighed and rubbed my arm with his hand. I sat up when I heard a knock on the door. Quickly, I got up to open it. Braelynn stood at the door with her overnight bag in her hands. I smiled and gestured for her to come in. She walked in and laid her bag down on the floor beside the couch, only for me to pick it back up.

"I'll be back. You can sit down if you want to," I told her as I rushed up the stairs.

I went into my room and laid her bag down by my desk before heading back downstairs. Braelynn was sitting down on the couch beside my dad and Ron, lost in a conversation. I walked over to the couch and sat down on Braelynn's lap before laying my head down on Ron's and putting my feet on my dad's.

"What are you doing?" Braelynn asked.

"I'm laying down. I hope that's alright."

She laughed. I closed my eyes and felt a flick to my forehead. I rubbed my forehead and opened my eyes back up to see Ron staring down at me with an amused look on his face. I glared at him.

"Why do you have to be so rude?"

"Because you're obnoxious," he said.

I scoffed. "I'm about sick of you," I teased.

"Oh, I'm sure you are."

I smiled and patted his cheek before closing my eyes again.

Somebody was calling my name but I couldn't register who it was. I slowly opened my eyes and saw Ron looking down at me.

When did I fall asleep?

I looked to see that my dad was no longer at the end of the couch or even in the living room and Braelynn was sitting in the recliner looking at me with a smirk on her face. I then realized that my arms were wrapped around Ron's torso. I quickly released him and sat up, only to close my eyes again and lay my head back down on his shoulder. I felt a few pats on my cheek and raised my hand to push Ron's hand away.

"Let me sleep," I mumbled.

I then felt a small, but sharp pain on the side of my arm. I jumped up this time, fully awake. Ron laughed and I glared at him while rubbing the sensitive spot.

"Ow. That hurt," I exclaimed. He just smiled at me.

"You two are precious," Braelynn said.

I looked at her. "I know I am. Thank you." Ron grunted and I laughed. "You know you're precious too." He just pushed my shoulder and I laughed.

"Dinner's ready!" I heard my dad call.

I perked up and quickly pecked Ron on the lips before getting off the couch. I grabbed Braelynn's hand and pulled her into the ktichen with me. My mom and dad were standing in the kitchen by the stove. I noticed the taco casserole sitting on the stove and grabbed Braelynn and I a plate. It didn't take long for my plate to be packed full with the casserole and sour cream.

I walked back out into the living room and plopped down beside Ron, Braelynn sitting down beside me.

"How can you eat that?" he asked with a disgusted tone.

I took some sour cream on my finger and put it in my mouth. "It's actually very good."

I took some more sour cream on my finger and put it on his nose. He glared at me before wiping it onto my cheek. I laughed and wiped it off before putting it in my mouth. This earned a dirty look from both Braelynn and Ron.

A few minutes later I had finished. My dad walked into the living room with my mom and the both of them sat in the two chairs. I placed my plate on the coffee table and propped my feet up.

"I have a question," Braelynn said. All eyes were on her now.

"Yes?" my mom politely asked.

"What should I expect tomorrow?" she asked.

"A lot of things," I stated.

"What are they like personality wise? You've only told me about three of them and the only things you've ever said about them is that Mudflap and Skids are crazy and that Ironhide is a hard ass but a lovable brute. Tell me what the others are like," she insisted.

I laughed and Ron grunted.

"Well, there's a lot more to Skids and Mudflap, but you'll figure that out. I can't really describe all of them because it's so much to think about, but just think of them as twenty foot humans with metallic limbs," I told her.

"I can do that. I think," she laughed.

"And don't worry. You've already met the worst of the bunch," I told her.

Ron pinched me again. "Stop doing that," I whined.

He just laughed, as did Braelynn.

"This should be fun," she said.
