Late Nights & Playful Chats

*I don't own Transformers or anything affiliated with Transformers. I only own my original characters and plots. All rights go to Michael Bay and Steven Spielberg.*

It was about one in the morning and I was quietly making my way down the stairs and out the front door. The cool air nipped at my nose and I tightly hugged my jacket around me before going over to sit against the warm exterior of the truck.

This had become a thing for me in the past week or so. I would come out here every night just to be with Ron since it was really the only time we ever got to be alone together. He had protested against it at first because I had school and shouldn't be coming out in the early hours of the morning like this, but I was one stubborn girl.

The sound of a door slamming shut caught my attention and I looked to see Ron strolling around the front of the truck. He smiled when he saw me and came to sit beside me.

"I was hoping you would've managed to fall asleep this time," he teased.

"So, you don't wish to see me?" I mock pouted.

He frowned and grasped my red cheeks with one hand, squeezing my face in a manner to make me resemble a fish.

"You're obnoxious."

"And you're a jerk," I tried to say, but it came out more as a gurgle.

I couldn't particularly speak with his hand restricting me from fully opening my mouth.

He laughed at this but let me go, the cold air instantly hitting my face as he removed his warm hand. I shivered and hugged myself. I felt a pair of arms grab me and soon enough Ron was holding me against his body in a tight, warm embrace. I smiled and wrapped my arm around the front of his torso. I felt him lay his cheek down onto my head.

"You're so cold. My goodness. What is with you humans and your constant disposition towards temperature stability?"

I'm shrugged in his arms and looked up at him. "We have different creators. When you see God I advise you ask him yourself."

He grunted. "I'm just certainly glad that I don't have to deal with these humanly problems. You're a complicated species."

I huffed. "Your species isn't much different from ours, genius. Aside from the being composed of metal part, your deficiencies of bodily fluids and organs, and your highly advanced natures, I assure you that you're quite the same. Humans and Cybertronians are both very versatile, primitive, and violent species. Not to mention that you walk and talk like a human," I told him.

"You're very thorough it seems."

"Aren't I always?" I baited.

He ruffled my hair. "I presume you are."

"What do you think my dad is freaking about?" I asked him.

He shrugged. "It's hard to tell. I've been trying to figure it out myself. Your father is very hard to read, Lea."

"Only sometimes. I can sense that he's stressed over something, but I just don't know what it is and I know if I ask him he won't tell me. He's just as stubborn as I am," I said.

"Yeah. I've noticed that."

I groaned and placed my forehead onto his chest. He patted my head.

"He annoys me sometimes," I exclaimed.

He laughed. "I can only assume that the feeling is mutual."

I swatted his chest. "Stop being a jerk."

He smirked. "I apologize. Shall I go and fetch your two favorite Autobots and have them keep you company?" he baited.

Here he goes.

"You know you're my favorite," I smiled.

"Hm."

I laughed. "Well, when you're not being a grunch you are."

He playfully wrapped an arm around the base of my neck. I squealed but giggled.

"I'd advise you to watch yourself, kid."

"Okay, old man."

He released me. "Older than you may think," he stated.

I shrugged. "It doesn't bother me any."

He chuckled. A cool breeze whipped past and though I was wrapped in Ron's warm arms, I still shivered which caused him to sigh.

"Get up," he instructed me. He was trying to force me back inside the house.

"No."

He growled under his breath and moved to stand up, the absence of his body making me very susceptible to the cold. I hated spring time in Washington. .

I hugged my knees to my chest and looked at the ground, shivering again. I should probably look into buying thermal coats from now on.

"Azalea, get up," Ron instructed me.

I shook my head and looked up. He was standing in front of me with his arms crossed, an annoyed look on his face. I looked back down but he pulled me up from the ground. I groaned in protest.

"Let me go," I whined, trying to remove his large hand from my wrist.

He rolled his eyes and pulled me to his body. "You're freezing. You need to go inside."

I shook my head again. "No."

He scoffed. "It wasn't a question." He moved to pick me up but I kicked my feet.

"Quit fighting me. You forget I'm roughly twenty times stronger than you."

I groaned. He was right and no matter how hard I tried I probably wouldn't be able to beat him, but I did not want to go back inside. I would much rather be out here with him.

He threw me over his shoulder but instead of heading towards the front door of the house, he opened up the truck's back door and put me in before climbing in himself. I smiled at the warmth radiating throughout the cabin.

"I believe that's better," he stated.

"Definitely." I laid my head down on his lap and stared up the ceiling while he played with different strands of my hair. "How do you like it?" I asked him.

"Hm?" He hadn't a clue as to what I was talking about.

"Your holoform. How do you like it?"

"It's convenient," is all he said.

"How is that even possible though?" I inquired. I felt him twist a strand of hair around his finger.

"Lots of science and lots of time."

"It's so weird," I laughed.

I could see a grin on his face.

"In time you'll grow accustomed to it, much like you already were well before you knew what I was."

"I believe you may be right."

I let out a loud yawn. Having someone play with my hair had always managed to put me to sleep.

"Go to sleep, Lea."

He rubbed my forehead soothingly with his thumb. I yawned again and he chuckled.

"Goodnight, Ron."

He planted a gentle kiss on the top of my forehead and took my small hand in his. I smiled and squeezed it tightly.

"Goodnight, Azalea."
