LETTER-1

13th December 2023
5:36 pm

Hey Kookie,

How are you?

bursts out laughing Yoo, how can I even write this romantic stuff? It's not my type at all. What, did you think I was going to say, "Omg, Kook, you are so, so hot" and all that? Nah, I'm better than that.

So, you're off to start your military service today. Bet you're already missing your comfy bed and endless supply of banana milk. I can just imagine you trying to do push-ups and complaining about it. Must be tough without all those fangirls cheering you on, huh?

But hey, at least you'll have some time away from the spotlight. Maybe you'll finally learn how to make a decent cup of ramen. And who knows, maybe you'll even learn to march in rhythm. That could be your next big dance move!

Anyway, don't go turning into a total robot while you're there. And remember, you promised to keep in touch, so no slacking on that. Just try not to annoy your superiors too much with your endless energy.

Yours savagely,

Yeoda

Jungkook sat in the quiet barracks, a pile of letters from fans scattered around him. He cherished each one, but after reading so many, they started to blend together-expressions of admiration, love, and support, all heartfelt but somewhat predictable. He sighed, feeling the weight of his own thoughts. Despite the love he received, something was missing, a genuine connection beyond the idol-fan dynamic.

He picked up another letter, this one with slightly different handwriting. As he began to read, a smile slowly spread across his face.

"Hey Kookie," it began. Jungkook chuckled, already feeling a sense of relief from the usual overly romantic tones.

By the time he reached the part where Yeoda burst out laughing, he was grinning. Her honesty and humor were a breath of fresh air. The way she teased him about military service and his beloved banana milk made him laugh out loud, something he hadn't done in a while.

"Must be tough without all those fangirls cheering you on, huh?" he read, shaking his head. "She really gets it," he thought, appreciating her playful, down-to-earth approach. This wasn't just another fan letter; it felt like a note from a friend, someone who saw him as a person, not just an idol.

The line about learning to make ramen and finding new dance moves in military drills made him chuckle again. Her sass and confidence were intriguing. He found himself reading the letter over and over, savoring each word.

For the first time in a long while, Jungkook felt a spark of genuine excitement. This Yeoda seemed different, someone who might see the real him behind the superstar facade. The hollowness in his heart felt a little less empty.

"Yours savagely, Yeoda," he read out loud, laughing. "I like her style."
He folded the letter carefully and placed it in his jacket pocket, close to his heart. As he lay back on his bunk, he couldn't help but think about Yeoda. Maybe, just maybe, he had found the connection he had been longing for.
