*5 months later*

"Hey, Yunho, wait up!" Dino caught up to him just as he was about to leave.

"What is it, hyung?"

"I have something for you." The older reached into his backpack and pulled out an ordinary white envelope, which he handed over. "Have fun."

Before Yunho could question what it was, Dino had disappeared out the doors and blended in with society. "Weird," he mumbled half to himself, half to thin air as he took the paper out the envelope. However, his eyes shone with delighted astonishment as he read.

"To the place where I first laid eyes on you. P.S.H."

Brimming with excitement, Yunho jumped in his car and started the engine as quickly as possible, eager to know what would be waiting for him.

.

.

As he approached the record shop, there was someone at the entrance awaiting his arrival. He stopped the car in front of the store and got out, seeing as he'd only be a moment. "Hi Yeo."

"Hey Yun. Here you go." Yeosang handed him another envelope. "Aish, this Seonghwa and the things I do for him."

"Care to tell me what's going on?" Yunho cheekily prodded for clues.

"Nope, I'm not giving you anything. You just gotta go through it and be surprised." Yeosang headed back into the store, as Yunho opened the second envelope.

"I still remember the first time I saw you. People say love at first sight is cliché and too fairy-tale like to be true, but sometimes there are coincidences in life that allow these magical moments to occur. You were so handsome on that day where I first laid eyes on you, and you grow even more each day I spend with you. Now, onward!"

"Where fishes swim around, about, ceasing when a storm comes out. They flee from turmoil of emotions, ups and downs of the heart unresolved easily. S.H."

There was a very short note on the back. "p.s. if you find it weird, don't worry, I cringed so hard writing this too." (A/N: Hwa's note here is just me putting out my feelings on this chapter)

The memories came flashing back as Yunho drove, where he recalled when he had been alone in the pouring rain, and how the older had made sure he wasn't alone anymore. Never again. Stopping outside the park, he ran to locate the bench beside the lake, which was occupied by another couple.

"Hi Hongjoong hyung, Mingi." He called out as he walked over, earning the attention of the two who were enraptured in conversation.

"Hi!" Hongjoong reached into his pocket and pulled out an envelope. "I assume this is what you're here for?"

"Oh yes! Thanks!" Yunho's attention immediately went to the contents of the envelope.

"When I found you here that day, it broke my heart to see you hurt. I want to tell you, thank you for confiding in me. That was a true blessing. Your next clue: a bit of heart. Our first and will never be the last. H." (A/N: I'm putting too many author notes... but in mandarin, dim sum is 点心, which literally translates to little bit of heart. Lessons with Cey.)

Instead of driving, Yunho decided to walk to the Chinese takeout shop, where he was warmly greeted by Junhui and Minghao, and another white envelope.

"The first date, where we ordered too much and laughed too much. The first beautiful memories created. By the way, help me get my order, they should have it ready by now. The receipt is in the envelope too."

"Flower paths and shapely trees, overflowing plants with a cooling breeze. Topped with glass and stars which shine, a moment as intoxicating as wine. Seonghwa"

"Ah, Hwa, seriously?! Reluctantly, Yunho collected the order, and upon deciding it was warm enough to last a while, decided to continue his quest, making his way to where they had their second date, the rooftop garden.

"Well, you're finally here." A higher in pitch and volume voice came from someone lying on the synthetic grass, admiring the sky as its colour faded. "Hey Woo."

"Here's your puzzle. Have fun."

And as Wooyoung left, Yunho couldn't help but laugh when he overheard the conversation the other had over the phone. "Yes, Yeo, I didn't spoil anything for him. I told you I could be trusted..."

"Your ideal date location, where you told me you liked being higher up, closer to the ones you loved but lost. I don't share that sentiment, but though it isn't much, now that I'm closer to you, you don't have to look so far again, because I'm right here for you.

Also, the takeout is for you hehe. I know you haven't eaten yet, and this hunt will receive your attention for sure. Take a break and eat up first! Mars." Upon reading that final statement, Yunho couldn't help but smile and stare upward through the glass ceiling, shaking his head. It was just like Hwa to be so thoughtful. Eager to continue the treasure hunt, though, he ate as quickly as he could.

There weren't any following rules on the front page, but as he flipped the note over, there they were. Written on the back of the paper was his clue.

"The food was good right? Anyways, here's your next hint. Raindrops on concrete high up closer to stars, feelings withdrawn and thrown to the past."

It wasn't raining when he left the rooftop garden, thankfully, and he raced at top speed to the roof of their apartment. Standing there awaiting his arrival was Jongho.

"Hey, my Ho bro!"

"You're the only hoe around here. But here you go." He handed Yunho yet another white envelope, which he read.

"The place where we weren't afraid to show vulnerabilities. You showed me your insecurities, and that takes courage. I hope we can share things with each other openly like that from now onwards.

Our third date: cause I'm your ?,?,?,? Hwa."

Yunho hurried back to the elevator, too immersed in his mission to notice Jongho retrieve a walkie-talkie from his jacket pocket. "Hyung, he's headed your way. Be prepared."

Meanwhile, Yunho tramped down the stairs to the fifth floor, lightly jogging down the hall to their unit, before knocking on the door. To his surprise, the person who opened the door was San. "Don't get me wrong, I didn't break in. I'm just stationed here."

The pink-haired picked up an envelope from the shoe bench. "Here you go... And it looks like my job's done. I'm gonna go back and sleep now." He shut the door of the couple's unit and strolled to the Choi's again. "Hwaiting!"

He slipped in the apartment and gently shut the door. Pressing his ear against the hard wood, he heard Yunho's faint footsteps fade before sliding down onto the floor, picking up the walkie-talkie on the table. "Hwa hyung, you don't know how close a shave that was. Thank goodness. Your little thing arrived just now. Yes, yes, I know, luckily, he didn't see it. Do you want me to open it?"

Yunho ripped open the envelope in the lift, headed downward and out again as soon as he'd read it.

"There's no place like home! It's where we find solace, just like how we did watching movies and eating pizza, together. Casual comfort, simple pleasures. That's also the feeling you give me, Yun.

A little corner with toasty roasted scents, cool comfortable environments, and coincidences. Hwa hyung. p.s. ask for your fav!"

"Oh... this is a little too far to walk... Hwa, I know you're going for a story connection and vibe, but this is way too varied in location and not very energy efficient-" Indeed, the patrol bill would not look good either. But Yunho found himself thoroughly enjoying the process, reliving all the precious moments in his soul.

It wasn't long before he reached Casta Café. The fragrant smell of toasted coffee beans wafted toward him upon his entrance, and he couldn't help but bathe in its scent for a moment. For a small café outlet, they seemed to be getting quite a lot of customers at this late hour, and he hurried to snag a place in the decently long line before it grew any longer. Fortunately, he didn't have to wait too long.

"Yunho hyung!"

Naturally, it was Hyunjin behind the register. "What'll it be today?" A knowing smile.

"I'll have a caramel macchiato."

"Great choice." Hyunjin handed him a receipt, and another envelope. "Seonghwa came and paid earlier." He explained.

While waiting for his order, Yunho tore open the envelope.

"Remember when you recommended this place to me, so we decided to come here for our date? Turns out it was the place I had been before. We had a good laugh over that. I remembered by name, you remembered by location. Different, but differences can be lovable.

Clue: Home is where the heart is. Come on back! Your flower. p.s. you can park the car, you won't be needing it after this one."

He drove back, and parked the car in the basement, before taking the lift to the fifth floor once again. This time, however, there was an arrow pasted on the front door, pointing upwards. No envelope this time though.

Yunho headed back to the lift, instinct telling him to get to the roof again, which he did. As he pushed open the final door, there was a rather loud popping noise. The door swung open fully. "Darn, I fired the popper one second too early."

Yunho could only stare. His lover was standing surrounded by candles at his feet, arranged to form a heart. "Yeah, I know it' cliché, but happy 6-month anniversary, Yun." He carefully stepped out the candle boundary, and as if they had lost a protector, some candles blew out instantly.

"Gah weaklings."

A rogue wind blew by and took out a couple more. "What the- Fuck you wind and storm clouds."

"Hwa, I told you they have feelings." No sooner had the words left his lips before the rain started pouring down. The two humans hastened into the sheltered zone. No candles had survived, obviously.

"See, I told you not to offend the rain clouds. Now they're crying."

"You're right, you're right. But don't say any more." This time, it was Seonghwa who closed the gap between them, leaning in close to his boyfriend and gently pecking him on the lips.

"Ooh, you taste like caramel!"

"Fuck you!"

"You know you wanna fuck me."

.

.

After the rain had cried itself out, in Yunho's words, the happy couple cleared up the waterlogged candles and squelched to the apartment. As they entered, the unit was pitch black, faintly someone muttered, "You elbowed me in ribs you idiot."

When suddenly the lights flashed and the room was filled once again with luminosity.

"AAAH did we have to do that... I just got accustomed to the dark.."

"Surprise! Happy 6 months!" Everyone Seonghwa had roped in to help were there, except for Hyunjin and the takeout shop couple who still had their businesses to run. Even Hwa himself was taken aback.

"I didn't plan this part, clearly." He softly informed Yunho, who just smiled.

"Don't worry hyung, chaotic party is our forte."

"That's what I was afraid of... Oh well, once in a while is alright.. Before y'all make that crescendo, Yun, go check out your present. San, where'd you put the thing?"

The pink-haired shouted over the immense amount of chatter the others were making. "In your bedroom, hyung!"

"Hwa, you didn't need to get me a gift. Just you being around is a gift enough for me."

"Just look first."

Yunho crept to the bedroom door, which was closed, and gently twisted the knob, tugging the door open. Instantly, his eyes filled with tears, for lying on the bed, in a deep sleep, was a golden retriever puppy, the perfect reincarnation of his beloved baby that had been cruelly taken from him.

He turned back to the elder, eyes shining. "Hwa, you shouldn't have."

"As long as you love him, it's good enough. I'll leave you two pups to get acquainted."

Seonghwa left the bedroom, happy tears escaping his eyes when he heard what Yunho whispered, curled around the puppy.

"You came back. I lost hope that you wouldn't, but you did. Thank you for giving me a second chance. I promise I won't let you go again. For a second time, I will love you, unconditionally."
