Suzzanah's POV

"PROPHECYYYYY!"

A horror-stricken scream that mirrored the one that had just escaped my lips tore through the dark misty night once more as my suddenly weightless body finally reached the railing from which Luna Prophecy had fallen not but a second ago.

Somewhere at the back of my mind, I vaguely registered that it had been Marco who had just screamed, as my fingers latched onto the railing.

My numb body bent over the balustrade at the same time that Rino's hand shot out towards the falling Luna seer, Alpha Penson's eyes glazed over in mindlink and Zuerien and Cole's lips parted in unison as they cried out simultaneously.

"ASHFOOORD!"

My wide terrified eyes that had been searching the black of the night underneath me for Prophecy immediately reacted to their holler, and just as my gaze found the falling Luna's ethereal form, they also zeroed in on the three men standing on the faraway forest undergrowth, staring up at her in horror.

Particularly, on the one with his hands extended towards the Luna of Time in a desperate outreach.

My heavy heart, which was hammering at an infinite pace inside of me immediately lightened the second he came into view, almost as if it had sensed intuitively what was going to transpire. And yet, when it finally did, the shock nearly made my thundering heart freeze within its bony cage.

Just like the endless flow of time, which also suddenly stood still.

So still that I forgot how to breathe.

I watched with my soul peering out of my eyes as the plummeting form of the Luna of Time halted mid-air, floating in the nothingness, as though being held up by the weightless void itself.

Her comatose form glowed translucently in a color that I could be certain had not been named, her golden hair drifting like a curtain around her pale countenance.

Time, it seemed, really had stopped for the Luna of Time.

Or so I almost came to believe.

Till I felt the chill of the ever-flowing breeze on my face, a breath of fresh air barreling into my barren lungs, forcing me to come to.

And then it came, the wind.

The powerful untamable wind.

Its mighty gust hit me like a siren's call, melted the frozen blood in my cold veins, and jolted me awake from the deepest part of my being.

It was the wind that never stopped blowing.

The wind, that overcame time.

I watched hypnotized as the invisible winds escalated all around us before shooting through the darkened horizon towards the floating Luna of Time. They surrounded her like a bed of gales, keeping her afloat, never letting her slip away.

And then, like the anvil cloud of a raging tornado, they supported her lightly fluttering frame as it slowly descended towards the stone-still earth.

Beside me, through my peripheral vision, I saw all the men's tense forms finally relax. And still I remained petrified in shock, absolutely unable to move.

Not until the floating Luna's form had finally fallen softly into the outstretched arms of the Alpha who had saved her life.

And then, I let myself breathe again.

The minute I exhaled the harsh breath I had been holding in all this time, the sounds of several other heavy sighs of relief filled my ears, sounding much louder suddenly after that long moment of having felt utterly deaf.

My head fell to my chest, over which I found my hand planted firmly in desperation. I could feel my heart still racing inside of me, too fast for me to be able to fathom.

And when I finally let myself feel again, so many emotions came crashing into me that I nearly choked from the impact.

Emotions of confusion, shock, dread.

Emotions of reassurance, gratitude, relief.

Emotions of all those around me.

And emotions of my own.

And in the plethora of them all, I found that not one but two of those many many emotions remained the most profoundly prominent.

Two powerful feelings.

One of immense relief.

The other of impending dread.

Both so very real.

And both my own.

Relief and dread.

Relief...

"Thank God!" I heard Cole breathe out loudly from next to me as he slumped against the pillar behind him at the same time that Rino leaned over the railing in front of us relieved, his outstretched hand hanging down flaccidly.

"Don't!" Zuerien cried out, hurriedly pulling Rino away from the railing, "We've had enough of people falling from heights for one day. You can fall tomorrow if you really want to"

At that, everyone including Zuerien himself broke into a small smile, and yet, I found myself unable to command my features that were still contorted in shock. My eyes remained affixed on the form of the Luna who had just fallen through the night sky.

She had fallen from the sky like a shooting star, and yet descended to the earth softly like a winged seraph.

How...?

And even as I asked myself that question, the answer, I knew, was right there in front of me.

My gaze was torn away from the Luna of Time only to fixate on the man who held her in his arms.

And my heart skipped a beat.

My eyes shot to Rino first, and then to Zuerien, widening as realization dawned on me.

And then they returned, full of awe to him again, the person who had rescued Luna Prophecy.

The Man.

The Alpha.

The...

"Elemental...", I breathed out, my voice coming out raspy, brimming with disbelief.

My gaze turned to those around me for confirmation and I found them staring back at me knowingly.

"Elemental", Rino repeated with a smile and a nod.

My shocked gaze flitted between Zuerien and Rino before a soft gasp escaped my lips.

"Not Fire nor Water, but..."

My eyes shot back to the Alpha in question and my fingers pressed against my lips in disbelief.

"Air!" I breathed out, "An Air Elemental...?!"

It was as though those words sent a bullet of electricity through my brain and one very vivid memory flashed before my eyes once again.

One of the vast woods.

One of two people.

Of a Luna and an Alpha.

And of the infinite sky around them, as they floated before my eyes, defying gravity, being held up in the air by nothing...

...nothing...but the wind.

"So that's how", I whispered to myself in astonishment, "That's how they were floating so far off the ground when I saw them earlier this morning while I was on that tree. It was him!"

Everyone except Zuerien, who knew what I was talking about, stared at me confused as I recalled Rino's words from his meeting with Ashford this morning.

"Oh wow! This is awesome! I couldn't ever imagine I'd meet one of you here!"

'One of you' he had said. One of...the Air Elementals! That's what he had meant.

"Yup!" Rino replied making me look at him amazed, "He's the very first Air Elemental I ever met. Compared to Water and Fire elementals, the Air and Earth Elementals are quite rare, especially among the werewolves"

"Ashford's mother was an Air Elemental Witch", Alpha Penson added, a strange emotion glinting in his eyes as he spoke, "So Ashford inherited it from her, just like Alpha Zuerien inherited his Fire Elemental abilities from his mother"

"Leave it to the witches to turn our mundane lives chaotic, huh?" Cole added jokingly as everyone turned to look down at Luna Prophecy.

The minute my eyes zeroed in on her again, I felt chills run down my spine, and the latter of the two powerful emotions I had been feeling just a minute ago, resurfaced with a vengeance.

Relief and...

As I watched Luna Prophecy's frame being carried into the hotel through the door, I felt my skin prickle, hair standing on end. She was faraway, so very faraway, and yet her last words before she fell from the railing continued to echo in my mind as though she were whispering them to me again and again, from right next to me, into my ears.

He's coming for you...

They were words I had heard one too many times now. But no matter how many times I heard them, they never failed to fill me with...

Dread.

There were so many questions that still remained unanswered. So many that if I started to make a list, it would probably take me several hours to pen them all down. But regardless of how many questions there already were, or how many more were still to come, I knew that one particular question would always be right on top of my list.

One question that had haunted my being from the very beginning of my life as a Luna.

Who are you?

That one question gnawed at my mind day and night, never letting me rest, never letting me be at peace.

You...whom I should beware of...

You...who are coming for me...

You...who have hands tainted with innocent blood...

...Who are you?

And although the question in my mind was singular, I soon realized that it was addressed to two people.

One was him.

And the other...

You...who are mated to a legend...

You...who see spirits from ages past...

You...who bear the silver streak passed down several centuries of time...

...Who are you?

One was him,

And the other...was I.

Who are you that everything seems to go haywire around you?

Who are you that the limits of the natural and supernatural seem to stretch for you?

Who are you that both good and evil are at war for you?

Just who are you?

Who are you...

"Suzzanah?"

I jolted out of my daze, my body jerking in alarm at the sound of Zuerien's voice calling my name. My dilated pupils zeroed in on his face to find him staring down at me with familiar concern etched into him features.

In reply to his call, all I found myself able to do was to let out a heavy, raspy breath that left my lungs burning. I could feel beads of sweat drenching my brow, my face hot and flushed yet hands ice cold.

And that one terrifying, unwavering question, never leaving my mind.

Who are you...Suzzanah?

"Heart?" Zuerien's hand cupped my cheek as he stepped closer to me, "Are you okay?"

No...

I nodded absently, leaning into his touch, the warm and familiar tingles a welcome sense of comfort. Bending over, I buried my face in his chest, my hands going around his waist and clutching his shirt in desperate search for comfort.

He reacted instantly, his hands encircling my frame, his familiar scent of rain and wet soil immediately making me feel safer. It wasn't until he held me tight that I realized that I was shaking. And had it not been for his hold, my knees would have surely given out from underneath me.

Hugging me close, he patted the top of my head gently, "Suzzanah...?" he said softly.

I swallowed hard and nodded, unable to find my voice. I just wanted to stay in his arms, holding onto him for dear life, and never let go.

Because I was afraid that if I did, that evil beast would come for me, and take me away.

I clung onto Zuerien tighter and he rested his chin on top of my head.

"Sweetheart, its okay", he whispered softly, "Everything's okay"

I nodded once more, taking deep breaths.

Everything's okay, I repeated his words in my head, trying to convince myself, Everything's okay

So please...be strong.

"Is Anna alright?" I heard Rino ask worriedly and Zuerien's grip around me tightened.

"Suzzanah's had a very rough day", Alpha Penson said, "I think this incident with Prophecy really shook her up"

"In that case, we'll go check on Prophecy", Cole spoke up, interrupting my train of thought, "But we should let the Luna Queen rest some more"

"I'm alright", I raised my head from Zuerien's chest, "I want to see Luna Prophecy too"

"Are you sure, Luna?" Cole asked worriedly, "You're looking pale"

I nodded, before looking up at Zuerien who hadn't spoken up yet. I found him looking down at me with dark eyes that spoke volumes.

There's something you're not telling me, he was saying, And I'm trying not to freak out about it

I gave him a small smile, placing a hand over his chest reassuringly, "I just want to go see Prophecy once", I said, "and then..."

I let my words drift away, letting him know I'd tell them what was up with me after that. He took a second to think about it before nodding.

"Very well then", Zuerien said, "We also have a lot to discuss with Ashford, Marco and General Reginald. Let's go."

The five of us quickly made our way down to the ground floor where Prophecy and the others were. Zuerien carried me half of the way, seeing as it was much faster that way, but once we got downstairs, I insisted on walking.

And as we made our way into the room that they were all in, we found the three large men huddled around a chaise lounge with their heads together. When we hurried in, their heads shot up towards us and they immediately straightened up.

And before any of us could say even a word, they called out,

"QUEEN!"

"Suzzanah!"

Marco and General Reginald shouted together as we reached them, quickly stepping towards me.

"ARE YOU ALRIGHT?"

I was a little taken aback by their concerned outburst which for some reason seemed directed towards me. They were both staring at me with wide worried eyes while Alpha Ashford stayed put beside the chaise lounge, watching me with a keen, attentive gaze.

I blinked, "I-I'm alright", I replied surprised.

"Are you sure?" Marco asked, taking in my appearance, "You look terrible"

Zuerien let out a low growl of disapproval while I smiled helplessly. He was probably right.

"No no!" Marco exclaimed, trying to correct himself, "I mean, you look really tired and unruly and sickly and-"

"Marco, you're only making things worse", General Reginald pointed out before looking back at me, "But you do look really worn out though. You didn't even look this beat after getting through my archery sessions"

I gave him a small smile, "I wouldn't say that"

"Are you really alright?" he asked, his eyes scrutinizing me while being concerned at the same time.

I couldn't help but wonder why they were asking so many times. Was it because of me having been teleported by Prophecy this morning? Or was it because they could sense what Zuerien had- the lack of my presence and the loss of a fragment of my soul?

"I am", I replied as reassuringly as I could, "Please don't worry"

They seemed rather unconvinced by my answer, their eyes still boring into me with ever increasing worry. But probably having sensed that I wouldn't give them any other answer anytime soon, they decided to let me be for now.

"And what about you, Rino?" Marco asked, tearing his gaze away from me to the wizard, "Are you okay?"

Rino smiled, "I am!" he replied before unexpectedly charging at them and crushing both Marco and General Reginald in a hug, "Good to see you guys again"

"Ugh why did I ask?!" Marco cried out, trying to get loose of Rino's hold, while General Reginald patted Rino's back awkwardly.

I didn't fail to notice how Alpha Ashford very subtly moved a few steps back at the sight of Rino's greeting.

"Are you guys alright?" Cole asked the three of them and Marco glared at him.

"Do I look alright?" he asked, pointing to Rino.

"We're fine Cole", General Reginald said, still trying to un-Rino himself, "My word, for a small man such as yourself, you do have quite the inhumane grip Rino"

"Thank you, General Pigeonald!"

"Reginald!" everyone except Ashford corrected in disbelief.

"Oh! Really?" Rino asked genuinely surprised as he finally let the two squirming men go, "You don't say!"

"How is Prophecy?" Zuerien asked before Rino could divert his attention to the Alpha retreating by the chaise lounge.

Everyone's gazes then shot to the now slumbering Luna.

"She's okay, I think", Marco said, not looking very certain, "She very conveniently fell asleep again right after she fell from the sky like a goddamn grenade"

Everyone, including the stone-faced Alpha Ashford gave him knowing looks, but said nothing. We could all tell that Marco was extremely worried about his cousin but was trying not to let it show.

The closer I looked at Marco, the more I noticed the dark circles around his eyes, and the lack of energy in his demeanor. His aura seemed almost bleak compared to how it had been earlier this morning. Marco was having a hard enough time with all the mazes around here sucking the life out of him, and now there was the added concern of Luna Prophecy's health.

Reaching out, I patted Marco's arm making him look back at me. I smiled, "Don't worry. I'm sure she'll be perfectly fine", I told him.

Despite his attempts at trying to act insouciant, he gave me a grateful smile and something told me he had really needed to hear those words.

As I withdrew my hand, Zuerien took it in his and we all huddled around Luna Prophecy once more. She looked perfectly normal now, slumbering peacefully on the chaise lounge.

But despite that, I couldn't shake the memory of what I had witnessed just a few minutes ago- of her saying those haunting words, of her falling off the balustrade and of her being rescued by Alpha Ashford and his magical winds.

From the corner of my eye, I glanced, as subtly as I could, at Alpha Ashford. He stood by the head of the couch, gazing down at Prophecy blankly. His hands were crossed over his chest, his gaze nonchalant and demeanor unconcerned.

To think this was the same man who had brought forth such a fierce storm of winds just a few minutes ago!

His indifference was a little daunting, and yet, somehow he just didn't come off as cold. Especially not to me.

Because...

His grey eyes suddenly shot to me and making my own brown ones widen in alarm and swing back to Luna Prophecy's face. I almost felt as if I had been caught spying for some reason and I resisted the urge to gulp in discomfort.

Rino reached out and shook Prophecy by the shoulder gently.

"Fussyyy!" he whispered, "Pro-fussy!"

She didn't reply.

"Hey! Hey, can you hear us? Fussy!"

"Prophecy!" Cole joined in patting her arm, "Hey wake up. Prophecy!"

She didn't even budge.

After a few more minutes of intense staring everyone straightened up again and exchanged helpless glances. It didn't look like she would come to anytime soon.

On the outside she looked perfectly fine, but we wouldn't know it for certain unless we spoke to her.

"Does anyone know why she decided to jump off the tenth floor?" General Reginald asked.

"She looked like she was having a vision", Zuerien said making me stiffen next to him, "Before she stepped off that railing, her body was emitting the same aura that she usually does when she has them"

"That would explain the reckless fall", Marco said, "At least we know that she isn't suicidal all of a sudden"

"Did she say anything before she fell?" the General asked and I felt my heart freeze in my chest for a second.

I looked around waiting for someone to speak up but everyone just shook their heads.

"No, she didn't really say anything", Cole said.

Not to you guys, she didn't!

I felt a cold sweat drench my body as her words from before resounded for the nth time in my mind.

He's coming for you, she had said to me, as clear as day, via mindlink, the same way the Luna Ethereal had in my dream.

Why had she said that? Had she had the same dream as me? Did she know who was coming for me?

If only Luna Prophecy woke up, I could ask her all these questions and maybe even get a couple answers!

"Yeah, I don't remember hearing her say anything either", Rino added.

"Are you sure?"

All our heads shot towards the person who had spoken those words in astonishment. Alpha Ashford returned our several surprised stares with his usual look of indifference, even though he had been the one who had posed that question.

"Yes", Zuerien replied, brow furrowing, "Why Ashford?"

Alpha Ashford's stormy grey eyes turned back to Prophecy thoughtfully and when he spoke again it was but a simple and almost infuriating, "No reason"

"Did she say anything to you, Ashford?" Alpha Penson provided, not willing to let the guy get away with his lacklustre answer.

"No", he replied flatly, his straight-face straighter than ever.

Marco frowned, "Then why ask about it anyway?" he whispered irritably as he ran a hand through his hair.

In the midst of all this conversation, there was little old me, still sitting like a cornered duck wondering how to bring up the topic of my dream and the words Prophecy had told me via mindlink.

I cleared my throat awkwardly, "Ahem, uh well, actually she-"

The minute I began talking, the Luna beside us shot off the chaise lounge like a missile literally scaring the heaven and hell out of me. I lunged backwards in reflex, letting out an alarmed yelp as Prophecy's hands flew out into our faces.

In a flash Zuerien pulled me away from the violently awakened Luna, and we all watched thunderstruck as her fingers clasped onto the shirts of both Alpha Ashford and Marco simultaneously and without any warning, she yanked them both towards her, hard.

Caught off-guard both men stumbled forward, grabbing onto the chaise-lounge's upholstering to keep them from falling onto the suddenly wild Luna. And as Prophecy vigorously shook Marco like a bottle of pulpy juice with one hand, her head shot towards Alpha Ashford when his stunned face was but inches away from hers.

Her eyes shot open, glowing an iridescent green that made my breath catch in my chest and blood run cold. And then, her lips abruptly parted, and she said,

"Found you...!"

The minute she had uttered those two words, she collapsed onto the chaise lounge again, her body going limp in welcome slumber.

And two Alpha's whose shirts were still in her clutches stayed bent over her, staring at each other wide-eyed and dumbfounded.

Pin drop silence enveloped us all as we stared gob-smacked at the scene that had just played out before us. And when every open eye in the room zeroed in on Alpha Ashford for answers to that strange confession, mine remained largely staring into the void.

"What in the world...just happened?" Cole breathed out the words that were essentially racing through everyone's minds.

And while those two terrifying words probably didn't strike any special chord with anyone else right now, my mind was completely flooded with the ear-splitting sound of a thousand warning bells.

Those words...

That dream...

The horror...

Oh God no...

My fingers began to tremble and my throat suddenly felt extremely dry.

"Beware of him..."

The Luna's statements from my dream kept resounding in my mind.

"Beware of him who comes with bloodied hands"

Somehow, even though that dream had really shaken me up, I felt like I would have enough time to cope with and prepare myself for its unfolding.

But all of a sudden, hearing those very same words being spoken by the Luna of Time in the here and the now, I felt like everything that was foretold in my dreams was happening too fast.

Everything that had just seconds ago been nothing but a crazy dream, suddenly seemed all too real.

Too damn real.

While I still remained in shock, Alpha Ashford's face straightened just as fast as his body did, and he wasted no time in grabbing onto Prophecy's hand and tugging it off his now crumpled shirt. If he was aware that every person in this room was waiting to get some reaction out of him, he really didn't let it show.

Zuerien seemed to notice my disturbed state of mind and he squeezed my shoulder gently making me look up at him. He gave me an inquisitive look, eyes seeing into my soul as they always could.

But just as I was about to try and tell him what was going on in my head, another voice sounded.

"Ashford, what the hell was that?!"

Marco, who up until that moment seemed to still be in shock- a little like myself- from the earthquake he had just experienced, had now snapped out of it and was demanding answers.

Ashford calmly looked up at Marco, his face revealing no emotion and mouth emitting no answer.

"...Well?!" Marco asked again, in disbelief when Ashford showed no signs of replying to his question.

"Your guess is as good as mine", he replied, his deep voice so brutally indifferent, it was a little nerve-racking.

"WHAT?!" Marco cried out, tugging Prophecy's hand off his own shirt, "But you guys just like...interacted!"

"No", Ashford replied coolly, "She simply sleep-talked"

"I don't think this was random sleep-talking", Alpha Penson said, his perceptive eyes focused entirely on Ashford.

And I couldn't agree more with him on that.

And while I was on the verge of having a mental breakdown, Ashford simply shrugged and didn't say anything else making Zuerien and Cole exchange a knowing yet weary glance and Rino blink in confusion, while General Reginald eyed Alpha Ashford questioningly with an evident hint of irritation.

"For the love of Wolves!" Marco shouted, looking exasperated by Ashford's lack of enthusiasm, "So you're telling me I just had the shit shook out of me for absolutely no goddamn reason?!"

"Calm down Marco, there is surely a reason", Alpha Penson replied, "At least to the words she just spoke, even if not to her attack on you, which I have to say was quite uncalled for"

"You think!"

"Ashford, are you absolutely certain what she just said did not strike any bells, any kind of bells?" Alpha Penson chose his words carefully as he spoke, his eyes briefly glancing at me before returning to Ashford.

When Ashford didn't reply, Alpha Penson added, "I mean, you did spend a lot of unexpected time with her this morning too, did you not? Perhaps this was the continuation of a conversation you may have left unfinished earlier?"

"We didn't really converse", Alpha Ashford replied, "She just did a significant amount of complaining before falling asleep again"

"What did she complain about?"

"Everything"

Everyone released heavy sighs. This wasn't getting anywhere. And deep down I knew, I knew it wouldn't.

And I knew why.

"Can you be more specific Ashford", Zuerien said, "We're trying to arrive at answers here"

Ashford thought for a second, then replied, "She asked me a lot of questions- about who I was, why I was teleporting with her and why we were floating in the air. She asked me multiple times where the Queen, King and her cousin were. And she said something about allergies and hating airplanes"

I think that was the longest piece of conversational input I had ever heard him share.

"And...what did you say in return?" Rino asked.

Ashford stared at him with a blank face and we all knew he needn't say anything else.

"Well that didn't really give us much insight into this situation either", General Reginald said, thoughtfully looking at Prophecy, "I suppose we have no choice but to wait till Prophecy is awake, again"

"And well-"

I almost thought it was me who had started talking, till I realized that my lips were still sealed shut and my voice wasn't half as deep or manly as the one that had just spoken up.

All our heads whipped towards Ashford again, quite surprised that he was actually speaking without stimulus for once. We found him looking down at Prophecy with a furrowed brow and a strange look in his grey eyes.

"Yes, Ashford?" Alpha Penson encouraged, looking a tad bit excited.

"This woman", he said thoughtfully, "Is she...capable of mindlinking?"

"Well yes, she is", Alpha Penson replied.

"Occasionally", Rino added with a shrug.

"She is half werewolf, Ashford", Marco provided.

On hearing that, Ashford's eyebrow's rose slightly, a definite hint of interest suddenly gleaming in his eyes.

"Why?" General Reginald asked, looking like he had had about enough of this juvenile and inbuilt strangeness.

Ashford looked back at us and replied, "She may have accidentally mindlinked me earlier when I caught her"

"What?!" Marco cried out as all of us immediately gave him all our attention.

Ashford looked back at Prophecy as he spoke, "She said...Be strong"

In that moment, I felt like the entire cosmos as I knew it had fallen onto my shoulders. My heart stopped, my breath caught and my body froze like a pillar of stone.

And everything became crystal clear as the words and sequence of events began to fall into place.

Till there was no escaping the truth anymore.

"Aaannd?" Marco asked, expecting more input.

"He's coming for you"

Ashford stared at him blankly, "That's it"

"She didn't say anything else?" Cole asked.

"Be strong"

"No", Ashford replied.

"Why didn't you tell us this earlier?" Alpha Penson asked.

"I wasn't sure it was her voice I had heard, seeing as I didn't know if she could mindlink", Ashford replied, still looking down at her, "But now, I-"

"Found you...!"

The bleak whisper was so soft that I almost didn't hear it myself, even though...

Even though I was the one who had spoken.

In a flash, all eyes zeroed in on me and I felt the world turning and twisting and slipping from underneath my feet.

Zuerien bent closer to me immediately, "Suzzanah", there was an urgency in his voice that told me he knew something was wrong, "Are you okay?"

"I-I...I'm...", I couldn't get the word out of my mouth, feeling light-headed.

"Suzzanah?"

"Anna? Is something wrong?"

"Queen?"

"I-I'm fine, I...I'm fine", I managed to breathe out as everyone suddenly huddled around me worriedly, "I-"

"You need to rest", Zuerien cut in, stating firmly, "I'm taking you upstairs"

"But I-"

"He's right. You really should rest Suzzanah", the General agreed, "Zuerien, you both go ahead. The rest of us will take Prophecy to her room and then assemble in the meeting hall to discuss the affairs that took place today"

"Right", Zuerien said and turned towards me and I looked him in the eye urgently.

I need to talk to you, I told him desperately via mindlink, Its important. You and...Alpha Penson

Zuerien looked surprised but immediately responded.

Okay

"Anna?" Rino said stepping towards me worriedly.

"I'm okay bud, I promise. Please don't worry", I told him with a smile, "I just want to sleep for a while longer, okay?"

Rino nodded quietly, but I could tell he was feeling guilty again.

"I'm alright", I told him again, "And I want you to be too, okay?"

He gave me a small smile, "Okay", he replied before looking at Zuerien.

Zuerien nodded to him with steadfast eyes and Rino nodded back. Whatever silent exchange of information took place between them seemed to do a better job of reassuring Rino than I did, and for that I was glad.

Zuerien then looked at Alpha Penson, holding his gaze for a solid second before turning back to me and quickly lifting me into his arms again. And I didn't protest. I honestly didn't think I could walk at that moment.

"Queen?" Marco said worriedly and Alpha Penson patted his back.

"She's alright Marco", I heard him say as Zuerien turned to walk out the room with me.

"But I can hardly feel the bond with her as I could earlier today!" Marco said in hushed voice that I still managed to understand, "Not just me but a lot of werewolves have noticed that. I've been getting mind-links from our pack members back in the US as well as from other packs around the world too who have said that they can't feel the connection to their Queen"

"Marco is right John. Are you certain she's alright?" General Reginald asked again, "She looked deathly pale, and the connection to her seemed to sever all of a sudden"

"I know and I understand", Alpha Penson said, "I'll explain everything to you..."

That was the last of what I could hear of their conversation as Zuerien walked out of the room with me in his arms. As we exited, I looked over his shoulder to find both Rino and Ashford staring after us with solemn looks in their eyes.

Zuerien took the secluded corridor that led to the stairs. The minute we were out of sight, he asked,

"Are you alright, Heart?"

I looked into his eyes to find familiar infinite concern swirling within their dark depths.

I nodded, "I'm okay", placing my hand over his chest to reassure him, "But there's something important I need to talk to you about"

"I got it. Hang on Heart"

With that he sped up the stairs like a missile, going so fast that I couldn't even see the stairs as he ran the several floors in the blink of an eye. The next thing I knew, we were behind the closed doors of our room again.

Zuerien walked to the bed and gently placed me down on the soft mattress before kneeling in front of me. He cupped my face, letting his anxious eyes roam my face.

I placed my hand over his, "I'm okay Zuerien", I told him, "I was just...hit hard by something I suddenly realized on hearing Luna Prophecy's words"

His brow furrowed and I took his hand in both of mine, placing it on my lap.

"Its something I meant to tell you later when we got the time but judging by how things played out, I thought it was best I told you right away", I said, "But I wanted to tell only you and Alpha Penson because I don't know if its cause enough to get everyone worked up over it. I don't want to worry them anymore than I already have, especially Rino and Marco who are worried enough already"

"I understand", Zuerien told me, "I mindlinked John already. He'll be here any minute now"

I nodded before closing my eyes and taking a deep breath. I felt a little calmer now but the bizarre pit of dread that had formed deep inside of me continued to well inside of me, making me uneasy.

"Was it something to do with...the beast from earlier this morning?" Zuerien asked and I was almost alarmed at how accurate he was.

I stared at him stunned and his fists clenched, "So I'm right", he said, anger seeping into his voice as his eyes began to darken, "That fucking bastard", he growled out, "I'll kill him. I'm going to kill him so painfully and slowly when I find him, he will regret the day he breathed his first"

"Zuerien-"

"You don't have to worry about him, Suzzanah", Zuerien told me firmly, "I won't let the likes of him cause you any harm, whoever he was"

"Did they find him?" I asked nervously.

Zuerien eyes flashed golden, "No. But we're not going to stop looking till we do. Rest assured, my Heart. I will protect you"

"I know", I told him, squeezing his hand, "I know you will but..."

"But?" he asked.

But what if you get hurt trying to protect me...?

I bit my lip, feeling my heart clench painfully inside of me at that thought.

"Don't go...don't go after him Micheal", I had heard Emily's voice screaming in my head earlier when I was trying to stop Zuerien from going after that beast, "Please don't! Don't leave. Please. Please!"

I closed my eyes and shook my head, trying to shake off the memory as well, but the despair and fear that it brought with it continued to flow through my veins.

"Heart?"

I opened my eyes to find Zuerien looking up at me concernedly. This man, I thought, how would I live if anything happened to him because of me?

Cupping his face with both hands, I bent down and kissed his forehead long and hard. The mark on my neck reacted immediately, tingling and sending waves of warmth down my body.

In Emily's scream to her mate, I had heard so many varied emotions. There was desperation, there was fear and there was so much pain.

I knew that Alpha Micheal had died after Emily, and that he had died fighting rogues. But why did I get the feeling that the evil beast I had encountered this morning may have had something to do with their past as well?

Pulling away, I tried to keep my feelings at bay. I let out a heavy breath through my mouth before looking into Zuerien's eyes.

"Promise me", I said softly, trying not to let my voice break, "Promise me that after I've told you everything I have to say, you won't let your emotions take over and act recklessly"

His brow furrowed indecisively as he searched my eyes for the reason behind my asking this of him.

"Please Zuerien", I begged, "Please promise me you won't do anything stupid, like go off on your own to find and confront that beast"

Zuerien gave me look, "Is that what you're worried about?" he asked with a small smile playing on his lips, "Heart, I'm the Alpha King. He won't beat me"

"This is what I'm talking about!" I said, growing even more anxious, "I know you're strong but do you have to be so overconfident about it?"

"There's nothing 'over' about it", Zuerien said, looking amused.

"Maybe not but- ngh, can you just ugh! Can you please just promise me you wont go crazy and do something dangerous?" I pleaded desperately.

Zuerien's face immediately turned serious again, "So what you're about to tell me would want to make me do something like that then", he stated more than asked.

"Why wont you promise?!" I asked exasperatedly.

"Because, I don't want to lie to you", he said simply.

My heart felt heavy inside of me. The way he spoke- with a sense of calm, with power and confidence- one would think it would make me feel reassured.

But it didn't.

"Beware..."

I knew my mate was strong. I knew he was not just the Alpha King but also the Alpha of Power- The Alpha Supreme- but Alpha Micheal had been extremely powerful too. He had been known as invincible too.

And look what happened...

"Beware of him who comes with bloodied hands"

If it was a warning from the Luna Ethereal herself, it wasn't anything I was about to take lightly. No matter how much faith I had in my mate and his abilities, his safety would always come before his pride to me.

I was about to try and persuade him again when a soft knock sounded on our door.

"Its John", Zuerien said looking at the door, "Come in!"

The door opened quietly and Alpha Penson walked inside.

"Suzzanah, how are you feeling dear one?" he asked as he closed the door behind him and walked towards us.

"I'm okay", I replied, but I was sure the look on my face clearly said otherwise. I was, after all, still very anxious about Zuerien not having promised that he wouldn't act recklessly.

"You wanted to talk to us?" he said as he came to stand beside Zuerien who was still kneeling in front of me.

"I did", I said uneasily, looking back at Zuerien, "Please have a seat"

Alpha Penson pulled a chair to the side of the bed while Zuerien settled next to me.

"Before I begin, I wanted to ask, does Alpha Penson know about what happened this morning, about that beast I mean?" I asked Zuerien.

Zuerien nodded, "I told him everything while you were asleep", he said.

"I actually meant to talk to you about it myself Suzzanah", Alpha Penson told me, "But I thought to do it tomorrow morning, once you were well rested. Does the matter you wished to talk about have something to do with that creature?"

I nodded, "Yes"

He looked at Zuerien before looking back at me, "This beast, you said you don't know for certain if it was werewolf or not"

"It looked like a werewolf", Zuerien said, "But it didn't have the essential aura of one"

"But did it have an aura?" Alpha Penson asked.

"It did", Zuerien replied, "A strong one. But I don't think I've ever felt anything like it. It felt like a mixture of many things"

"Like?"

"There was an element of werewolf to his aura, but there was also an element of magic. What kind? I couldn't say but it was there. But for the most part his aura felt demonic"

Demonic!

"That's right", I agreed, "I remember that when I first felt his aura and then saw him with my own eyes, my first thought was that he seemed like a demon from hell"

"A demon?" Alpha Penson said, his brows rising, "But there aren't any demons in Dublin"

"He wasn't an authentic demon", Zuerien said, "But his aura had a definitive demonic essence. Or something very similar to it. I can't be certain because I haven't met all that many demons to begin with"

"You picked up all that after just having been in his presence for a few seconds?" I asked stunned, "You never even told me any of this"

"I didn't want you to worry about him any more than you already are worrying", Zuerien replied, "But I don't understand how one being can have so many blends of auras"

"Maybe the thing has a very...diverse ancestry?" I provided.

"Even if one does come from a very diverse bloodline, only one's dominant aura manifests as their presence Suzzanah", Alpha Penson told me, "Like with Alpha Zuerien whose mother was a witch and father a werewolf, since the dominant trait in him is that of a werewolf, the aura he emanates is also one of a Werewolf, and not of a wizard"

"Its like that with all supernaturals who have varied lineages", he continued, "Unless the person has perfectly equal portions of the two traits, in which case they would manifest two auras, which is extremely rare"

"And besides this guy had more than two traits manifesting through his aura", Zuerien pointed out, "Largely resembling demonic energy, but not exactly"

I bit my lip nervously. What was up with that beast?!

"I see. And you said that when you chased after him, he disappeared?" Alpha Penson asked.

"He did", Zuerien said, "I didn't sense any change in his aura when he disappeared but there was a definitely magical essence at the spot where he vanished"

"If his own aura didn't change then he probably had someone else teleport him out of there", Alpha Penson reasoned.

"Why is that?" I asked confused.

"You see, even when a person has varied ancestry, they usually have only one dominant trait that they manifest. Like Alpha Zuerien is the child of a werewolf and witch, and he is a dominant werewolf, but Prophecy who is also the child of a similar mating is a dominant witch", Alpha Penson explained, "But some children still show traits of not one but both parents. Like Alpha Zuerien possess his mother's elemental gifts. And whenever he uses his Element, his aura changes ever so slightly to incorporate that of a Element wielder"

"So since I didn't detect any change in that beast's aura when he teleported, it probably meant that he wasn't the one who used the teleportation magic", Zuerien concluded.

"This is complicated", I admitted, rubbing my forehead, "Like Supernatural math"

"You'll get used to it once you begin to interact with different kinds of supernaturals", Alpha Penson told me, "You can already sense auras to some extent, can't you?"

"I don't know", I told him, "But I do sense something so I guess its a start"

"A good one", Alpha Penson added, "Now coming to the more important part of this event. Suzzanah."

I looked at him, feeling uncomfortable now since I had guessed where this conversation was probably heading.

"You told the Alpha that you felt like...you had encountered this beast before", Alpha Penson said and almost instantly, the dark, haunting and horrifyingly nostalgic feeling I had experienced when I had come across that beast started to seep into me once again.

I cleared my throat and nodded uneasily.

"I don't know why", I told him, "I can also say for certain that I haven't ever met that creature before but I still, very distinctively, felt like I had. It was a really strong feeling. Too strong for me to take lightly"

I raised my eyes up to the ceiling, recalling that moment reluctantly.

"I felt like I had known that beast for a really long time", I said gravely, "Like I had encountered him before. Like we had been in that very same situation in the woods before. Almost as if-", I had to stop for a second before I could continue, "As if...he had tried to kill me before"

Beside me, I felt Zuerien's body stiffen, the veins on his forearms swelling as he clenched his fists in anger. I subconsciously placed a hand on his knee to try and keep him calm.

"Also", I continued hesitantly, "There is another thing that happened whilst I was running from that beast earlier"

Zuerien immediately looked at me, knowing instantly that I hadn't told him this part.

I bit my lip uncertainly before continuing, "As I ran...I had something like a vision"

"A vision?" Alpha Penson said, bending forward attentively.

I nodded, "A vision this morning...and then a dream this evening", I told them, "Both about...Emily and the Luna Ethereal"

The look of surprise on their faces was not lost on me but I continued, not wanting to go off track. I told them everything about how, when I had first felt the aura of that beast coming after me, every part of my being had screamed at me to run. How I had recognized its evil presence, even though I had never crossed paths with it before.

I told them about how, as I ran, I had heard the names of both the Alpha Almighty- the first King- and Alpha Micheal- Emily's mate, in the voices of the two Lunas. And at the same time, how my clothes and hair also suddenly seemed to change as I called out their names.

The more I told them, the more shock I could see in their faces. I knew that they had questions, but I continued talking, not stopping as the memories of the incidents took over me.

Once I had finished telling them about the incident from the woods, I went on to tell them everything about the dream that I had had this evening.

Mirror mirror on the wall...

I still remembered every infinitesimal detail of that dream, and I made sure that I didn't skip anything as I told them, knowing that even the smallest fact, could prove to be important, especially to Alpha Penson.

As I told them my dream, I could feel my skin prickle as chills ran down my spine. That dream had been, by far, the most graphic of them all. As I spoke, I kept my eyes on Alpha Penson, knowing that hearing about his daughter and the bloodied hand print on her mirror would certainly affect him, but no matter how much I wanted to avoid causing him grief, I knew I couldn't hide it from him.

I knew...it was important.

By the time I was done telling them everything, the room had fallen deathly silent. I found both Zuerien and Alpha Penson's faces solemn, their brows knit together in deep thought.

"I thought I'd tell you guys all this tomorrow", I said, "Because there was already so much going on with Luna Prophecy and Megan and Rino. But when Luna Prophecy said those very same words that I had heard the Luna Ethereal say in my dream earlier, I freaked out"

"You did good by telling us immediately, Suzzanah", Zuerien said and Alpha Penson nodded, "Do you think its possible that Prophecy was having a similar, if not the same dream that Suzzanah had?"

Alpha Penson hummed in thought, "Yes, it is possible", he said, "It would also explain why she chose to mindlink only Suzzanah and not the rest of us. She might have done so subconsciously seeing as the dream was about the Luna Queen"

"It was actually the last two words that she uttered downstairs that really frightened me", I said apprehensively, "Its not my first time hearing those words after all..."

"What do you mean?" Alpha Penson asked.

I hesitated, wondering whether or not to bring it up, seeing as it could have nothing whatsoever to do with this matter. And also because Zuerien was right here.

"Say whatever you have in mind Suzzanah", Zuerien said gently, "Don't fret over it alone. Just tell us. Whatever it is. Its okay"

"I actually don't think its important", I said strongly, "But...those words...'Found you', I...I heard them when my spirit was teleported a few days ago to Canada. The person who said them was..."

I bit my lip before saying softly, "Terrence Magnifis"

Silence befell the room once more and it felt a lot like the calm before the storm. Alpha Penson's eyes shot to Zuerien the minute I uttered that name and I quickly added, "But those words hadn't been directed at me or anything, when he said them. I was just really disturbed by the man altogether, so I was wondering if that could have manifested in my dream"

"Yes, actually, that could have happened", Alpha Penson said, never taking his eyes off Zuerien, whose face still didn't give anything away, "Our minds often tend to take elements from our real lives and incorporate them into our dreams in strange ways. This could just be one of those times"

"Right!" I agreed, glad to have that out of the way, "So what do you guys think?" I asked, hesitantly, "It was because of a dream like that, that my intuition of having encountered that beast before strengthened even more"

Alpha Penson looked at me, "You mean...in a past life", he stated and I nodded.

"I don't have any physical memory of having met the thing in this life, before today", I said, "But seeing as he still felt so unnervingly familiar, I couldn't help but think...that I may have perhaps encountered him in a past life. That's why I wanted to talk to you about this even more Alpha. Did Emily ever tell you anything about having come across a creature like him?"

Alpha Penson thought about my question, while Zuerien and I watched him quietly. After much thought Alpha Penson answered,

"No. Emily never told me anything about a beast like that. Not ever"

"But would she have, if she had encountered such a beast?" I asked.

Alpha Penson nodded, "My daughter never hid anything from me", he said quietly, "If she had ever had an experience like that, she would have certainly mentioned it, and I would most definitely remember it"

My shoulders slumped as I suddenly felt like we had hit a dead end again. If that beast really hadn't crossed paths with Emily, then why did I feel like I knew the thing already, for a really long time at that?

"Do you know why that beast could have come off as being familiar to me, Alpha?" I asked him, knowing that if anyone out there could have a possible answer to my question, it would be him.

Alpha Penson looked at me, his eyes wise and ancient.

"Well", he said quietly, and I didn't miss how his gaze fell on Zuerien for a brief moment, almost as if he were wondering if it was a good idea to voice his opinion in front of him, for fear of what might happen.

Zuerien didn't move or speak, but continued to watch Alpha Penson with anticipatory eyes. And although he looked calm on the outside, both I and the Alpha knew that it wouldn't take much to drive him over the edge of his self-control.

"The most obvious answer, would be what you arrived at", Alpha Penson said, "That you had already encountered this beast in a past life and the memories of it triggered unexpectedly when you came across it again. Although even such a thing happening is extremely rare, almost unheard of"

"In your dream, the only two pivotal persons who interacted with you were Emily and the Luna Ethereal", Alpha Penson said, recalling what I had said, "And you said that Emily's mirror shattered and the Luna Queen's didn't. You also said that the bloodied hand print appeared on Emily's shattered mirror but not on the first Queen's"

I nodded.

Alpha Penson's gaze was somber as he spoke, "Well, I think its safe to assume that the shattered mirror and the bloodied hand print signify the person's death, and how it happened"

Pain immediately pricked my soul, and I knew Alpha Penson was probably feeling it too.

"I don't know if I've ever told you this Suzzanah, but my daughter was killed in a rogue attack", Alpha Penson said, "She died trying to protect me"

I clenched my fist, guiltily wishing I didn't need to put Alpha Penson through this experience of reliving that moment.

"Her death was not natural. She was killed by those murderers", he said, his demeanor still calm but his anger and grief showing in his eyes, "And I think that is what the bloodied hand on her mirror in your dream might have signified. That the person was killed"

He looked at me, "I think that the women whose mirrors shattered and had that bloodied hand print on them must not have died natural deaths, but must have been killed", his gaze turned thoughtful again, "But the thing here is, seeing as the hand print on all the mirrors was the same, and the Luna Ethereal warned you to beware of 'him' who comes with bloodied hands and not 'them', then it signifies that they were all killed by the same man but..."

"But Emily wasn't", I completed and the Alpha stayed quiet before his eyes widened slightly and he said,

"Or perhaps...she was"

Both I and Zuerien immediately sat up in attention, his words hitting us like a ton of bricks.

"What do you mean John?" Zuerien asked.

"That day", Alpha Penson said, shock and uncertainty swirling in his dark eyes, "the rogues attacked my pack without any warning, without any foreseeable reason. And back then, it wasn't unheard of for rogues to act wildly like this. But I remember being caught completely off guard by how organized the attack was. Almost as if it was planned beforehand"

"And I remember how they worked together that day, in such perfect sync that they managed to destroy one of the strongest packs in the world", he stated in disbelief, "But rogues back then didn't have any coordination like they do now, which is why their re-formed attack had caught us so unprepared. And the only way for an attack to be so well executed is if..."

"If it were being orchestrated by an experienced leader", Zuerien completed, incredulity painting his own features, "But rogues back then didn't have any leaders or Alphas. They were wild, they couldn't be tied down by anybody. They'd kill everyone in their paths, even each other!"

Alpha Penson nodded, the tension clear in his face. Suddenly the air in the room felt extremely heavy, as though the revelation that was being arrived at was too shocking to even imagine.

"Beware of him who comes with bloodied hands", Alpha Penson said softly and I tried not to shudder at those haunting words.

"It is possible", he said gravely after a long second, "If what the Luna Ethereal said in Suzzanah's dream is true and the person behind all these killings is the same, then it is possible that the beast who came after Suzzanah today, may have had a hand in the rogue attack that killed my daughter. And there is also the matter of Alpha Micheal, her mate! He also died fighting rogues. Maybe its all somehow connected to this beast"

My eyes widened in shock as I realized that that actually made a lot of sense!

"But what about the other women whose reflections were inside of those mirrors", Zuerien asked, "We don't even know how many years ago they existed. How can it be possible for one creature to have lived that long? Werewolves have long life spans but not that long. Nor do demons!"

"The only creatures who do...are vampires", Alpha Penson said making my head start to spin.

"Vampires?!" I cried out alarmed.

"Did you sense the aura of a vampire from that beast Alpha?" Alpha Penson asked.

"No", Zuerien asked, "I didn't. Besides, vampires can't shape shift! And this beast looked like a wolf!"

"With a demonic aura", Alpha Penson added.

"What the hell does that mean?" Zuerien asked, growing more and more agitated, "How can this be? One creature can't have so many recognizable traits!"

"Have you received word from Ashford's men?" Alpha Penson asked, "Have they found any trails on this beast?"

"No", Zuerien said, "I've kept a constant mindlink with the group who are searching for him because ever since I sensed his presence, and not to mention that he tried to come after Suzzanah, finding him became a priority. But I mindlinked the wolves in the search party just a short while ago. They haven't found a thing. Not a trace of such a creature anywhere. Who knows where he might have teleported to"

"He appeared out of nowhere and then disappeared back into nowhere", Alpha Penson said, "But the question is why? Why now?"

"And why Suzzanah?!" Zuerien demanded enraged.

Alpha Penson looked at me, "Well, the answer to that could only be..."

Suddenly both their eyes zeroed in on my hair and my eyes widened in realization.

"The silver streak", I breathed out taking the silver lock in the palm of my hand and both men looked at each other.

"Its the only common link between you and all the other women within the mirrors", Alpha Penson said, "The silver in your hair. The silver you share with both the women who you are a reincarnation of"

Emily and the Luna Ethereal...

"But does that mean that Suzzanah may be a reincarnation of all the women whose reflections appeared within those mirrors?" Zuerien asked shocked.

"I can't say for sure", Alpha Penson replied, "There is a possibility, but it was after all, a dream. Dreams do tend to be unreasonable. And although most of the facts stated in her dreams seem authentic, we must make sure to correlate them with the facts that we already know. And according to the facts, there aren't that many women in werewolf history who possessed the striking silver hair"

"But even so, why?" I asked, still completely bewildered, "Why only us with silver hair? What could this beast want with all of us who have this silver hair?"

Who exactly...are we...?

Who...are you?

"That seems to be the most important question of this entire mystery", Alpha Penson stated, "I think what we need to do first is figure out the mystery behind your silver hair"

"Like I already told you, I read in the 'Book of Ages', that silver hair symbolizes light and purity", he told us, "The fact was first established because of the Luna Ethereal who brought light to the werewolves in a dark time. After her, it was believed that those born with silver in their hair were especially pure. But the number of people who were born with silver hair down the centuries were very few and over the years people eventually forgot about that saying or began to regard it as a simple fable or folklore"

He looked back at my hair, "But now it seems that it is in fact, very significant. It seems I may have to revisit the Central Library again"

"But even if you do, I don't think they will let you have access to the 'Book of Ages' again", Zuerien said.

"I realize that", Alpha Penson said, "But there are other books that could hold some important information about this matter. Besides, I wished to ask the 'The Elite Werewolf Overseer' about it too. He may know more than we do, seeing as he has had more access to the book than any of us"

"And he may also know something about this Beast", Zuerien said, "Seeing as he is the oldest Werewolf alive, if anyone knows of the existence of such a creature, it would have to be him"

"But if he did know, wouldn't he have told you guys?" I asked.

"The eyes don't see what the mind doesn't know", Alpha Penson said, "Sometimes your eyes see things but your mind fails to see their importance. And when something happens that brings the significance of that thing to the forefront, it strikes you that you should have paid attention to this all along"

"Its like what happened with your silver hair", Alpha Penson said, "Or Emily's for that matter. I never really paid as much attention to the silver streak in her hair, because I didn't think it was all that important. Had I known it was, I would have certainly looked into it sooner"

"Besides, the Elite Overseer is a lot like John", Zuerien said, "He keeps a lot of things that could potentially be important, to himself, till he is certain that the matter is of enough significance to bring it to the attention of the King. Why did I have to get stuck with such difficult Counsel?"

Both I and Alpha Penson smiled at that.

"If you're going to be meeting with him, I'm coming too", Zuerien said.

"And me!" I chimed in quickly.

Both men nodded.

"Should we fix a meeting with the Elite Overseer via mindlink?" Zuerien asked.

"I think its best for us to speak of such delicate matters in person", Alpha Penson suggested, "We can fix a date once we get back to the States"

Why did it feel like that would take a really long time...

"For now, try not to worry yourself or fret over that beast, Suzzanah", Alpha Penson said, "We'll make sure that you are never left alone anywhere"

Uh...what?!

"We'll triple security around her", Zuerien said, "And I'll make sure that at least one of us Alphas, or Cole and...well, ugh maybe Rino, is always with her"

Hey now, hold on a second!

"And it may be a good idea to limit her interaction with Prophecy", Alpha Penson added.

"WHAT?!" I cried out, "But I haven't ever interacted with Prophecy!"

"It stays that way till Prophecy can get her powers back under control", Zuerien said firmly, "Until then we may need someone from the League of Magic to come and help us keep Prophecy's magic within bounds. We could have asked Marco but he is already under too much stress from all the mazes around here"

"Understood, Alpha", Alpha Penson said, "I'll request their assistance at the earliest"

"Um, excuse me but-" both men broke their serious conversation and looked at me. I gulped, "I will be able to go to the bathroom alone, won't I?"

They exchanged glances and much to my horror, actually took a few seconds to contemplate the answer to my question.

"Perhaps, if we can get the Beta female to go with her-"

"You can't be serious!" I cut Zuerien off.

"I'm very serious", Zuerien said, "I'm not taking any more chances"

"It may be a good idea to 'magic-proof' Suzzanah for a little while, don't you think?" Alpha Penson suggested.

"What does that mean?" I asked bewildered.

"Seeing as we are having strong magic wielders coming over to help Prophecy with her magic, we can get them to put up a magical barrier over you, Suzzanah", Alpha Penson said, "That way no magic will be able to affect you"

"I suppose we could", Zuerien said begrudgingly, as he pulled me closer, "But they better do whatever they have to do from a good distance. I'm not letting anyone I don't know near Suzzanah"

Alpha Penson smiled, "Let's see", he said before looking at me.

"You did good by letting us know this, Suzzanah", he said, "Make sure to tell us anything and everything that seems even a little bit off, or important, okay?"

I nodded.

"Good, now I think you should rest", Alpha Penson said, "I'll go downstairs and join the others then Alpha"

Zuerien nodded, "Okay. I'll be there soon"

"I don't want to sleep", I whispered to Zuerien.

"But you need to", he replied.

"What if I dream about creepy things again?"

"Those creepy things will still be beneficial to us Suzzanah", Alpha Penson said, "And they may help us protect you better, like the warning about the man with bloodied hands"

"But that beast could be anybody", Zuerien said.

"Thing is, she was only told this warning in her dream this evening", Alpha Penson said, "Which probably means the person who the Luna Ethereal was talking about may have only recently entered her life, perhaps even after we entered Dublin"

Both I and Zuerien tensed, but I knew it was different reasons. My heart was now, suddenly beating faster.

"Someone she came across only after coming to Dublin?" Zuerien asked, suddenly very suspicious.

"I'm not saying that's a given, but it is a possibility", Alpha Penson said.

"Uh...actually, I don't think so", I cut in quickly, before they started doubting all the wrong people.

Both men looked at me surprised, and I swallowed hard.

"You see...", I grit out, "This...isn't the first time I have been told that warning in a dream either"

"What?!" Both of them immediately looked anxious and apprehensive.

"You've heard that warning before?" Zuerien asked and I nodded.

"Yes, again, in a dream", I said, feeling uneasy, "It was towards the beginning of the Annual Games. I had a dream about Emily again, in which we were both playing with the kids at the orphanage. Back then I didn't know that I was the Luna, and I think, through that dream, Emily was trying to tell me that I was"

"So she the one who warned you back then?" Alpha Penson asked.

I shook my head, feeling a my breath turning ragged again.

"It wasn't her", I said remembering as clear as day the events that transpired in that dream right after Emily disappeared.

"Beware Lunaaa..."

I could never forget...that haunting memory.

"Beware of him who comes with bloodied hands"

"It...it was..."

"He is the reason"

He is the reason.

I looked them both in the eye and breathed out gravely,

"It was that man with the blue-green eyes"
