Sana and Hizashi spent the day walking through the city, Hizashi taking her to all his favorite spots, at least to as many as he could fit within the day until the sun set.
Despite the mild unevenness in their personalities, they still seemed to click. Sana couldn't remember the last time when she found a friend so easily. Then again, she didn't exactly have an upbringing that allowed her to have friends.
Here or there Hizashi would point out some things, followed by funny anecdotes of his which never failed to make Sana laugh and to the blond male that sound was pure music to his ears. Never before had he been so enthralled by a woman that'd been in his life for only for a few days.
As Nemuri had said to him - it's love at first sight.
Of course the voice hero had tried to fight it off and deny it, but Ishiyama, who had been listening in on the conversation without intending to, had mentioned that it did kind of sound like it.
Love at first sight.
As Hizashi cast a glance towards Sana he couldn't help but wonder if that was actually true.
He knew her for approximately a hundred and twenty hours, give or take a few, and so far they have exchanged a few hundred messages more than that. Though that was mostly because, the more they texted, the more he lost his capability of typing properly in one message and ended up splitting it into like two or three more.
How this woman agreed to meet with him a second time was still beyond him.
After all, he was a loud pro hero who used his voice as his weapon. He's been labelled as obnoxious, irritating, deafening, an endangerment to the public. He's kind of heard it all by now, so he still couldn't help but wonder what Sana saw in him that made her agree with seeing each other again.
When he compared her to himself, he figured there was nothing to compare. She was like an angel sent from heaven, while he thought himself to be some spawn of the depths that no one wanted.
Oh what he'd do to see that smile of hers. If it was as gorgeous as her laugh, he was positive he would pass away on the spot.
"So, your students are going to summer camp soon?"
Hizashi blinked a couple of times, Sana's voice having pulled him from the abyss of his own toxic thoughts, before he nodded and replied "Yup. Just hope everything goes to plan!"
He watched as the raven haired woman tilted her head at him, a sleek brow raised, grey eyes filled with curiosity.
Hizashi let out a soft laugh at her mildly confused gaze, adding "It's just, after the USJ thing we kind of had to up our security a bit. We even changed the camp location, just to be extra safe, you know?"
Sana hummed and fixed her gaze ahead again, eyes following a few birds flying through the sky that had already turned a soft pink with the sun setting somewhere far in front of them.
"You must really like your students," Sana stated more as a matter of fact.
This time the blond hummed in response, earning a soft chuckle from Sana at the realization that he had tried to imitate her tone, which in return made Hizashi laugh as well.
"All jokes aside, you're right, I do. I enjoy teaching the next generation of heroes. Sure, there are some students which I'd love to throw into a ditch, but the others all make up for it. Becoming a teacher is probably one of the best thing's I've ever decided to do."
When he glanced down at the woman walking beside him, he noticed the corners of her eyes crinkling.
If only he could see her smile.
Sana had just been home for barely an hour, when her favorite brother stepped into the apartment and said "Come on, we're going out!"
With furrowed brows the raven haired woman looked up at her twin and while she was munching on a piece of toast, her eyes seemed to say 'What the fuck?'
Dabi laughed at the position he found her in, crosslegged on the floor, back leaning against their disgusting old sofa and a piece of toast hanging from her lips.
"I just got the message. They want us and they asked of us to drop by immediately," Dabi finally revealed.
It took Sana almost a full minute to figure out just who he was talking about, when it clicked and she realized he had meant the league. In an instant her mood turned sour, resulting in another laugh from her brother as he saw her brows furrow even further.
"Come on grumpy pants, get your shit together, we're going out tonight and that's final," Dabi said, chucking Sana's shoe from beside the door at her, which she narrowly dodged.
"I told you, stop making it sound like we're dating! It's disgusting!"
"Oh, I'm sorry, I forgot about your new boyfriend," Dabi teased "Have you kissed yet?"
Sana chucked her shoe back at him in response "What are you, twelve?"
"Yeah, twelve minutes older."
"More like least twelve IQ points dumber than I am. Shut up you're only seven minutes older, get off that high horse of yours."
Dabi rolled his eyes, approaching his better half as he muttered "Yeah, yeah."
Sana took his outstretched hand and got to her feet, sticking her tongue out at him, which he returned.
Yes, they were a bit childish sometimes.
Once Sana had gotten ready to leave the house again, the duo made their way to the hideout bar which, unbeknownst to them, held an unpleasant surprise for the both of them.
The first minute or two, nobody dared to say a word, after Dabi and Sana had entered the bar. Kurogiri remained behind the counter, cleaning glasses, Toga and the other members were scattered around the room and Shigaraki sat at his favored seat at the bar, right across from Kurogiri.
Sana wasn't sure if she was imagining it, but there seemed to be some tension. Whether it had been there before or after she and her brother had entered she wasn't sure.
Dabi leaned against the wall near the door so he could observe the entire room, Sana about to follow suit, when Shigaraki finally spoke up.
"So, Sana. What have you been up to the past few days?"
If Sana wasn't so fond of the cold, she would've said she froze on the spot. In a split second the entire room temperature dropped a few degrees and it wasn't hard to figure out who was the cause for it.
Shigaraki turned slowly to face the raven haired woman standing by the door. His face was still covered by that hand, but Sana didn't need to see his entire face to feel his gaze burning into her skull.
"I think it would be wise for you to answer the question, Sana," Kurogiri spoke up nonchalantly from behind the counter, his gaze never leaving the glass he held in his hands in that moment.
"Well, I've been in my current home. What else am I supposed to do, without a job?", she decided to say, which was the truth, since Shigaraki had asked about the past few days and not this day itself.
The pale man let out a disappointed sounding grunt, or snarl, it sounded a bit like both in Sana's ears.
That sound was enough to let her know just what exactly he had meant when he posed his question.
"Let me ask you again, maybe a bit more precisely, so you and I are on the same wavelength here. What exactly were you doing today before you came here?"
He knows.
Sana bit her lip and a shiver ran down her spine, the room turning a notch colder. Cold enough for Toga and the costumed man called Twice to shiver and for Dabi to slowly heat up his own body.
"The reason why I'm asking is, you know, I'm curious. I want to know how your day was. I'm just genuinely interested into what you did," Shigaraki continued. It seemed like it took him a lot of control to not turn this entire building to dust, or Sana, whichever he got his hands on first.
The raven haired woman tensed up as Shigaraki finally stood, approaching her agonizingly slow while his right hand moved into the pocket of his jeans to produce a picture. He held it up between two fingers, finally revealing the source of his displeasure towards Sana.
"What's it like being friends with heroes while trying to join the League of Villains?"
The picture must've been taken in front of UA this afternoon, as it showed Sana standing with Hizashi, Kayama and Aizawa, Hizashi's arm thrown around her shoulder, the loud hero smiling brightly.
Inwardly Sana cursed herself for being this ignorant. She knew she shouldn't have picked Hizashi up from school. Ever since the USJ and Hero Killer incident, news reporters were basically camping in front of the school. Of course an unknown face like hers would spark curiosity.
"I'm asking you this question only one more time and I expect of you to answer it truthfully. What were you doing today?"
