"I don't get it. You some kind of freak?", Shigaraki said and Sana couldn't help but agree with his words. She actually felt concerned for what might have happened to Toga to make her think this way.
"You both have similar goals. I'm sure she'll be useful to you," the broker stated, before gesturing to Dabi "Next, this young man has no outstanding criminal record to speak of, but he's enamored with the hero killer's ideals."
Dabi cast another glance around the room, before looking at the broker "I'm not sure about this... Is this bunch really so dedicated to the cause?"
For a moment, Sana had hopes he would let this opportunity slide and they could go back to how things were, without this league in their lives.
"I mean, they're about to let this nutjob join up."
Again, Sana threw her hopes out the window.
"Hey, hey, at least freak girl here can state her own name," Shigaraki said, probably shooting him an annoyed glare, "If you're a proper adult, how about you try doing that?"
Dabi sighed and replied "I go by Dabi right now."
"No good, your real name."
"You'll know it when you need to. Anyway, the hero killer's will. I plan to make it a reality."
Slowly Shigaraki rose from his seat and Sana felt herself tense up. Something was about to happen and she had a feeling she wouldn't like it.
"No need to answer questions I didn't ask," Shigaraki spat, his tone bitter, "Everyone nowadays is all 'Stain this' and 'Stain that'..."
"Don't do it, Shigaraki," Kurogiri warned.
"Bad...I'm in a bad mood."
Cautiously the raven haired woman grabbed her brother's sleeve.
Shigaraki finally stood from his chair, fully facing the three newcomers. As he raised his hands, he spoke "Cuz you guys are no good."
Then it all happened in the blink of an eye.
Shigaraki charged at the trio and while Toga drew a knife and rushed at him as well, Sana pulled Dabi aside before he could even think of attacking and created a wall of ice, separating the twins from the others.
Dabi looked down at his better half, a frown on his face as he muttered "You're no fun."
"Unlike you, I'm not here to start a fight," Sana snapped back, glaring at the taller male, before she turned her attention back to the wall of ice.
The broker who was still by the door glanced at the duo, clearly interested in their connection. He was not sure how they stood to each other, all that Dabi had mentioned to him was that he was bringing a 'plus one' and not who exactly that was.
"Please calm yourself, Shigaraki Tomura. If we are to act upon your desires, expanding this organization is a necessity," Kurogiri stated. From the sound of it, Sana assumed he had made sure Toga and Shigaraki couldn't get to each other.
"And oddly enough, this is our chance while we're in the spotlight. I advise acceptance, not rejection, Shigaraki Tomura. Acceptance of anything we can use, of whatever remains of his will..."
If Sana didn't know any better - which she didn't - she'd assume Kurogiri to be Shigaraki's parent.
Carefully Sana stepped out from behind the wall she created, taking in the scene she missed.
Shigaraki looked more than annoyed, Kurogiri had his figure spread out in some sort of portal and Toga still had her stupid smile on her face.
All in all, Sana could say that she was not comfortable with the energy that's been created here.
"What's with you?", Shigaraki snapped, fully focussed on Sana the moment she had stepped into his field of vision again.
The raven haired woman tensed up again as she cautiously said "I'm Sana. Dabi and I work as a team."
The man covered by hands snorted, although it was a more distasteful sound. Then he walked past them, Sana taking a step back to get out of his way.
"Where are you off to?", the broker asked, to which Shigaraki snapped "Shut up."
With that he was out the door and it closed shut behind him.
The broker let out a deep sigh, his hand raising to scratch himself in the neck, before he said "Pains me to say it, but our business partner there...he's too young. Immature."
Dabi, now beside Sana again, leant down to mutter "How'd he figure that out," into her ear. His twin only shrugged in return.
"We will have an answer for you within a day or two. Will that suffice?", Kurogiri asked while he returned to cleaning some glasses. "I expect even he knows what he must do. It's because he knows, in fact, that he left without a word."
While Kurogiri talked, Dabi cautiously got to work with getting rid of the wall Sana had created.
"First All Might, then the hero killer... he's been humbled twice now. He'll figure it out, I'm sure. An answer that will satisfy you three, as well as himself."
The moment the twins stepped through the door of their rundown apartment, Sana practically kicked her shoes off and headed straight to the kitchen, Dabi quick to follow.
The younger of the duo grabbed two beers out of the fridge, being so nice to open both bottles, before handing one to her brother.
They clinked their bottles together, a silent 'Cheers' and then both took a long sip.
They stood in silence for a while, Sana moving to sit on the counter and Dabi leaning against the wall opposite from her.
Sana was about halfway through her bottle, when she finally decided to speak up "That was wild."
Dabi huffed a laugh at her words and nodded, eyeing his sister, as if he's on the lookout for another outburst like earlier.
"You know, you didn't have to protect me there earlier. I'm older than you and I can handle myself," Dabi then spoke, earning a deadpan glare from Sana as she replied "I was protecting myself, you were just in the way."
"Then why did you not use me as a shield?"
"We are not starting this discussion again."
Dabi nodded, inwardly facepalming himself. He hadn't meant to make a reference in that direction but here he was.
"You think he's gonna take us in?"
The raven haired male thought for a moment, letting that short meeting pass through his mind again, then replied "I think so."
Sana hummed in agreement, the tip of her beer bottle leaning against her lips, the cool glass a welcome sensation.
"Considering what Kurogiri said after Shigaraki threw his temper tantrum, I guess they won't have any other choice but take us in if they really want to pull through with their plans."
"Speaking of temper tantrum," Sana began, the glare she now sent her brother made shivers run down his spine, "If you insult someone like him one more time, I will personally hand you to father in front of the entire nation. I don't want you getting us on the bad side of random people, especially not when they've got quirks like Shigaraki does."
Dabi opened his mouth to speak up, but a pointed gaze made him shut his mouth again.
"Unlike you, I want to live a couple of more years..." Sana paused for a moment, thinking of how to best word what she wanted to say next.
Her brother silently took a sip of his beer, waiting patiently for her to say what she wanted to say. He knew he'd get smacked if he interrupted her.
"I'll play along. You got us on their radar and there's no turning back now, so I'll play along. But I will also put our safety first. If I see you running out of stamina then I'll get you out of there and I expect you to do the same for me. Your wellbeing is more important to me than that league and the will they follow. And if it goes too far, then I'm out."
Dabi nodded at her words, answering with a soft "Understood."
"Good, now come over here and stop looking at me like I'll bite you," Sana said, setting her bottle aside and jumping off the counter, opening her arms, waiting for a hug.
Dabi laughed as he approached her and sat his bottle on the counter too, before he wrapped his arms around his sister and hugged her tightly.
"Love you, you little gremlin."
"Shut the fuck up I can literally embarrass you in more ways than you can think of."
Dabi laughed once more, ruffling her hair, only to get punched in the gut.
