Chapter 9
You can have a lot of time on your hands when you are stuck in a reflective cylinder cage by yourself. The first day, I figured out that my sarcasm is not appreciated by all. The guard that they put at the control table was stone-faced the entire time. Every time I made a joke, he threatened to hit the switch to make the walls be reflective. Then, a day later, he cracked. He hit the button, and since then I have looked at myself and only myself.
It was not that bad. I had time to fix my appearance. I noticed that the usual intricate braid I kept my hair it was very messy. I fixed that by hand. My blue skin was covered in bruises, so I summoned the healing salve that was used in the Nine Realms. The wounds healed almost immediately, though somewhat painful.
I heard a door open on the other side of the mirrors. I also heard hushed voices talking fast. I tried to use my powers to see who it was, but surprisingly, I could not. It was as if the mirrors were not only reflecting my image, but also my attempt to reach into the other’s minds. I did not know how to react, so I panicked and said, “Hello? Who is there?”
“Who do you think?” came a familiar voice. It was the man that wore the red, white, and blue spandex and the shield.
“What do you want?” I asked, trying to make up for the fear in my voice earlier. I heard a click, and the mirrors changed back to regular glass. Now, instead of only seeing myself, I saw the entire team of Avengers and a handful of guards with weapons.
“Once again,” I started, “what do you want?” I looked at all of them, stopping at my uncle. He returned the stare.
“We have a problem, and we think that you can help,” said Mr. Red, White, and Blue.
“What kind of problem?” I asked. It felt like Deja-vu.
“There are a group of people that claim to know you. They are calling for your immediate release,” he said
“Who would know me?” I asked sarcastically. I only knew of one possibility, but it was a small one. My father had a small group of the undead that he had under his control. It could be them. Or it could be a trick. “How do I know that this is not a trick?” I asked accusingly.
Mr. Red, White, and Blue sighed. He waved to one of the guards, and they went over to the control panel. They clicked a couple of buttons and a small screen came on, showing the news.
“Reports from Central Park show a protest against the Avengers for reasons yet to be discovered,” came the TV. An older woman was speaking over the shouts of the people. “The protesters are shouting, ‘Let her go, let her go!’. We are unsure who ‘she’ is, but further investigations should show some results. In other new-” the TV shut off mid-sentence.
“Do you know those people?” Natasha asked coldly. She was giving me the death stare.
“Can I see the group of people again? I was not able to see them properly.” I already knew that it was them, but I wanted to make sure.
“Why? Can’t you use your magic?” Natasha sneered.
“No,” I said. “If you were listening the other day, you would know that I can not. Now, do you want my help or not?” I said, becoming rather irritated.
“Fine,” Stark cut in. “Rewind the footage to the mob,” he said to the guard. They rewound the footage and stopped at the group of people.
I recognized an elderly woman along with the group surrounding her. To the untrained eye they looked normal due to their supposed old age and disabilities but in actuality, they were the undead disguised as humans. I looked at the others in this group and recognized multiple other people. They were frequently seen throughout the palace of Hel, as they were her guards/service team.
“So,” started Mr. Red, White, and Blue. “Do you recognize any of those people?” he asked. He and the other Avengers looked at me for an answer.
I knew that if I lied, they would have no way to tell. They would be expecting me to lie. But I was not about to tell these people what I knew.
“I recognize them, yes. But I am unsure of from where I have seen them before. It could have been in Helheim, or it could have been on the street last week.”
“You’re lying,” Natasha accused. “If you were telling the truth, you would look us in the eye, not above us.”
Bæsj. I looked right into her eyes.
“Tell me the truth!” Natasha yelled. She walked over to the glass walls and banged on them. “WHAT DO YOU KNOW?”
“You better hope that they do not get any ideas about breaking me out. Or letting anything slip about Loki.”
The Avengers slowly realized what I meant. They turned around, and all of them left except for Thor and the guards. Thor stayed for a second longer, before turning to the guards and nodding for them to put me in isolation again. Then, I heard him leave, along with the guards.

Oh boy I'm tired. We have half days at school this week, so our drama director has us start rehearsal way earlier. A normal rehearsal is 5-9, but this week they've been 12-9 with a dinner break at 5. So yeah, I'm exhausted.
Enough complaining from me, I hope you guys enjoyed this chapter!
