Sasha comes into Desmond's study and finds him cuddling Helen to him while he works. She raises an eyebrow at the scene. "I thought she would be sleeping in her room."
"She didn't want me to leave her and I needed to work on finding answers."
"She trusts you a great deal then."
"Far more than I deserve." Desmond tells his vampire child.
"Nonsense, you deserve the best Desmond and she's it."
Desmond snorts out. "She is, but I don't think I deserve her and I know she deserves better than me. I hurt her so badly."
"She's forgiven you."
Desmond shakes his head sadly, "No, what I did she couldn't possibly forgive me for."
Sasha is torn between amusement and exasperation, "Desmond, if she didn't forgive you then she wouldn't have trusted you and she sure as hell wouldn't want to be in your arms now."
Desmond shakes his head some more but little by little Sasha's words bring him some hope. Could it be possible that his angel could and would forgive him?"
"Desmond, were they able to get any decent photos from the hidden cameras in Helen's car?"
"Oh, yeah, there was one that makes the identity of the threat known. Just not sure if he is working alone or if he got other of the clans allied to him. That's what I've been working on the last few hours. That and making sure those humans that hurt Helen will be dealt with in the most painful way possible for them without doing anything illegal to them."
Sasha looks at him in shock. "You aren't going to physically harm them?"
"Perhaps, in time, I have to think about it and I'll ask Helen what she wants me to do after I'm finished with what I already have planned." Desmond replies, but the one that hurt her first, took what wasn't his to take and sent her to the hospital, him Desmond has special plans for and even if Helen doesn't want him to do them he will.
He won't physically harm her parents unless Helen requests it, and he hopes she does, but he is planning on and has already started on taking their business away from them. That seems to be the most important thing in their lives. He'll make sure that they no longer have it.
As for her mother, he still hasn't found anything sufficient to punish her with. Trying to slap Helen even though she is with him. How dare she? He's sure that he'll find something to destroy her life with even more than taking away the company will do. Helen's father will also further pay, but taking away the company and all his wealth will likely be punishment enough. The Wolfe's tend to be very materialistic and social conscious, taking that away will hurt them more than anything else. Let them live in the streets like Helen did. He doesn't think they will survive nearly as well she she did.
He turns over certain research items to some of his most tech savvy people. He was rather amazed at how some of his vampires took to tech even though many were centuries old. He, himself, found that it wasn't that hard for him to learn and enjoys using it and the freedoms it brings. Makes many things much easier.
It takes him several hours but once he's done Helen's parents company will be his once he's ready to claim it. He's also put a lien on all their assets when he found out some interesting financial information about them, either they or someone in their company is embezzling a great deal of money. He already has his people on it finding out who. But Helen's parents will be paying for the theft one way or another and he'll be there to take the payment.
He knew the minute they realized who he was and that Helen was with him that their avaricious natures came out. They didn't exactly drop the bastard that was at their side and start ass kissing him, but they were thinking about it.
Desmond thinks they didn't only because they are afraid of him. He does rather have a rather nasty reputation about unwanted solicited business ventures. There are reasons he hasn't talked to the Wolfe's about a business deal. He's very careful about that and who he does business with. He would rather forgo doing an idea than do so with a partner with a bad reputation. His business reputation is sterling even if his partners don't get what they think they should be getting. It's not his fault if they aren't smart enough to understand. He never cheats them and always delivers what he promises, always.
"Desmond," Sasha knocks then enters, "It's getting late and Helen hasn't eaten since breakfast, should I have the chef fix her something?"
"Oh, I hadn't realized it was that late."
"NO!" Helen says loudly then blushes deeply as both Desmond and Sasha stare at her with her outburst.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to yell. Your chef really doesn't like me. I have no desire to have her make my food at all."
Her words make Desmond angry. "She has been disrespectful towards you?"
"Not overtly, but if I ask her for anything she does so reluctantly and with hostility. I think she wants you and believes that I stand in her way."
This makes Desmond very angry. "She was never in any kind of special place. She was never more than chef and food."
"Perhaps not to you, but to her you were more."
"Sasha, contact Peter and see if he still needs a chef. If he does tell him he can have Sienna. Then you will need to find and bring me a new chef, one willing to know their place."
"Preferably a male, if that would be possible?" Sasha adds that last in nervously not sure if she is allowed to ask.
"Yes, one preferably male."
"Very well."
"Make sure if you leave the estate that you have at least one other with you that fights at your level. That rule goes for everyone until we take down these fools."
"Yes, master. I will let the others know of the new rule."
"Thank you. Order pizza for the servants, they like that. Helen, would you like pizza or Chinese?"
"If it's possible, could you order Indian? I love the naan bread, but the curry needs to be one that isn't very spicy if possible."
"Of course, Helen. I'll get it ordered, should be here in about a half hour or so."
"What about you, Desmond? Aren't you hungry as well?" Helen asks him still a little more than a little sleepy.
Desmond chuckles so low that Helen felt rather than heard it. "I'm fine. I'll find a blood donor later and have that for dinner."
"Don't you like Indian?"
"I can eat it, but there are foods that are far more digestible for me."
"Oh, you should have said something. I could eat something else."
"No, Helen, I need blood at this time not food. I'll find something in the kitchen should I find myself in need of food later."
"I can cook you something if you get hungry?"
Desmond looks at Helen in shock, "You know how to cook?"
"Growing up the servants were my only companions and friends. They even put their jobs on the line to help me when I left my parents place. The chef would take the time to show me how to cook. She made sure that I could at least make half a dozen different dishes from memory and how to read recipe books. She even made sure that I learned how to bake. But since my parents restricted sweets I never really got into the desserts and such."
"I won't put you on any dietary restrictions. If anything I will be encouraging you to eat even more including sweets. But since you don't really like them I won't ask that you eat them."
Helen smiles up at him and sits up and starts stretching. "Sorry for sleeping so long you must be tired of me being there."
"No, I was quite content having you there."
"Desmond?" Helen says hesitantly.
"Yes, Helen?" Desmond says as he stands up.
"Why did you send your chef to someone else?"
"She was disrespectful to you. No one, not even I am allowed to disrespect you. I strongly request that you let me know if anyone does and I'll make sure to take care of it. If I do, make sure to tell me. Like I said, I don't always know or understand when I do things wrong."
"But you just sent her away."
"Yes, when a human comes here to work and live they are bound to me. Basically, they are selling themselves to me for food, shelter, work and protection. Many of the servants were in situations much like yours where they were living on the streets or the next thing to it. Some were escaping bad relationships or trying to overcome addictions. Here they find safety, food and work. If they are addicted then my orders keep them from returning to their addictions and they become clean if it's drugs or alcohol, if it's gambling or sex then they aren't allowed to do so. Although, if it's sex they are allowed to date and can have relations with their partner, but only then.
"And in exchange I have complete control on their lives. I drink their blood if I hunger, before you they were also sex companions but now that won't be something required of them."
"How do you bind them to you?" Helen asks very curious. She did everything in her power to find freedom and can't imagine anyone giving up their everything for basics.
"I'm a demon and a vampire, my powers involve sex and blood. I used to fuck them while drinking from them, now I will make them cum while drinking from them but won't be having sex."
"Can I watch while you do it?" Helen asks innocently.
This makes Desmond freeze. "You want to watch me make a man come while drinking from him?"
"Yes, if it would be alright."
"Helen, you amaze me, you really do. I will ask the man if that will be alright with him."
"What if the man isn't attracted to males?"
"Helen, I am a demon and a vampire, he will allow me to touch him and bring him even if he is homophobic." Desmond stops and thinks about that for a second. "Perhaps especially if he is homophobic. Many of the homophobs are closet homosexuals. Not all, there is a great deal of hatred out there against those that are different. In that humans haven't changed much over the milleniums."
"Milleniums? Just how old are you Desmond?"
"I don't think you really want to know that, but if you want an answer, I have lived to see plagues that nearly wiped out Europe, I've lived through more wars and civilizations than I want to think about and many of my vampires are ancient as well."
Helen stands there blinking at him in shock just trying to take it all in. "Wow."
Desmond chuckles, "That's all you have to say Angel?"
"Yeah, my brain is still trying to wrap itself around the fact that you are older than dirt." With that Helen smirks and leaves the room.
Desmond starts laughing at her words as the door to his office closes. He just hopes that she continues this playful side with him.
