Chapter 2
That night, Hermione laid on her bed in her dormitory. For some reason, she couldn't get that encounter with Malfoy out of her mind. She just couldn't.
"Oh bloody hell." She huffed. "I shouldn't feel this way. He's a Slytherin for bloody sakes."
'What is this feeling?' She thought, 'Why do I feel this way with Malfoy?'
"Hermione! Can we come in?" Harry asked.
"Yeah, the door's always unlocked." She responded. Harry and Ron walked in moments later. "And how was your day?" She questioned.
"Good. We played a fun round of Quidditch, and just had some needed bro time." Ron grinned.
"I'm glad." She smiled.
"And your day? How was it?" Harry asked.
"It was... rather unexpected." She stated.
"How so?" Ron questioned, his and Harry's curiosity piqued.
"Uh, well, I went to the library to study. Crabbe and Goyle, being gits, were starting to bully me. But..." She paused.
"But what?" Harry asked.
"Draco defended me. He made them back off, and we had a... civil conversation." Hermione stated, "No name-calling, no bullying or slurs."
"That's... by Merlin." Ron stated, shocked.
"I know, right?" Harry asked, "It seems so surreal. But if Hermione says it happened, who are we to not believe her? We weren't there, and she wouldn't lie to us."
"Yeah... we talked about classes, and how unpredictable Snape is." Hermione stated. That night, she had a smile on her face while she slept, dreaming of none other than Draco Malfoy.
