Chapter 3
Waking up after not sleeping well, all I felt was dread. I couldn't believe me and Tyler were chemistry partners for the first experiment! I have such bad luck. At least I didn't have chemistry today. I sighed and got out of bed slowly and I went down to breakfast. My Dad was sitting at the table reading a newspaper and drinking a cup of black coffee, as always. "Morning Honey!" My dad greated me. "Morning Dad. What's for breakfast mom?" I said and yawned tiredly. "Your favorite!! Eggs and toast" she said and smiled at me warmly. "Thanks mom your the best." I said as I grabbed my toast of the counter. I looked down at my brightly colored watch and saw I was late. "Oh FRICK! I have to go now! I'm going to be late!"
I ran out and caught the bus just as it left our driveway. As I got in the bus I only saw one open seat... I sat down next to Donna and felt quiet awkward as we weren't really that good friends. I looked around in the bus after I briefly greeted her to make sure there weren't any open seats. I felt sorry for Donna because I knew she was bullied but if I decided to hang out with her the same would happen to me and I didn't need that right now. As I was looking around I saw Tyler at the back of the bus with all his 'friends' around him. I didn't know why he cought my attention everytime I looked around but I suspected it was just because I really didn't like him and he didn't seem to like me either. As I was daydreaming and looking around we made eyecontact for at least 5 seconds which was much to long before I turned back to the front of the bus and got out my earphones so I could listen to my new favorite album, Reputation by Taylor Swift.
The day at already started uncomfortable with having to sit next to Donna on the bus and then also making eye contact with Tyler but when I tripped in the hallway and dropped all my books I knew I was just a complete mess. A boy with dusty blonde hair and brown eyes leaned down and helped me gather all my books. I stood up quietly whilst still looking down. "Thanks" I said while running my hands through my hair "No problem " he said in an Australian accent while smiling. I assumed he could be an exchange student, that means he was the new kid just like me. I felt a bit better about not being the only new kid.
At lunch Donna waved me over to her table where she was sitting I reluctantly went closer not seeing any other open tables. As I sat down I saw the Australian boy from this morning in the cafeteria line. "Just quickly going to go get lunch" I said to Donna and went to the line. I grabbed a tray and fell in line behind him "What you getting?" I said playfully he turned and said "Oh I heard their sandwiches aren't bad" he said with a smile "Haven't tried them myself" I continued the conversation. "Well then it can be a new experience for the both of us." He said as he got two sandwiches and paid for them. I was thankful because I hadn't actually had money to buy lunch so I didn't complain. With my sandwich I walked back to the table. "Wow that guy is friendly!" Donna said with a giggle " You saw all of that?" I asked slightly shocked "You bet'cha, even got pictures!" She said holding her phone. I could help but giggle "That's weird" I said playfully.
The rest of the day went smoothly, maybe I should eat at lunch more often, I just usually feel too awkward to. Things were finally starting to turn around. But I had a feeling tomorrow would be different when I see Tyler in chemistry at 6th period. But that thought was put to the back of my mind by the boy who bought me a sandwich. I didn't even know what his name was...
