'Faster!'

The word chanted through her head like a prayer as the woman rode her horse in the middle of the dark forest.

The moon and the small lantern was the only source of light the dame had, but it was enough.

Not the right amount, but it was enough.

Enough for her to see where she was going to, making sure that she was not heading straight into a pit or something of the likes of it.

A hand gripped the horse's reins tightly, while the other was used to hold the small bundle in her chest.

She risked a glance downwards, and her hazel eyes clashed with green ones. They were bright, as if the moon was favoring the babe.

Howls from afar erupted, 'werewolves', the woman thought. The fact that their senses were stronger when the moon was at its whole had slipped form her mind.

It was not much of a hindrance from her journey for she knew that these weres usually just kept to themselves.

So on she rode, the sounds of the horse's hooves ruining the peaceful night.

Unfortunately for her, the horse she rode on tripped on a log that had passed her sight, causing the mare to stumble and fall.

Her arms subconsciously found their way to protect the babe in her chest, wrapping her skinny arms around it.

Thankfully, she didn't roll around in the dirt, instead, she only fell once and stopped moving.

Her eyes opened a fraction, just enough for her to see the horse she had been taking care of run far away, a saddle still on her back.

The lass shook her head in disappointment and shakily stood up. The fact that she was nearly skin and bones had not helped in the slightest.

But she didn't give up. Not now. If possible, not ever.

Thirty minutes past two hours, she had finally reached the place that she was aiming for.

After spending nearly a month times six in the forest with no view of the outside world, the black-haired lady had almost forgotten what a building looked like.

She walked into the Manor, the gate open wide for her entrance, as she was expected from the owners.

As careful as she could, she briskly walked towards the big mahogany doors.

She knocked on it, and soon enough, a young servant boy opened the door. He took in the sight of a woman covered in an old cloak with a hood that was very dirty, but said nothing of it as she walked by him.

The servants have been briefed about her; whoever was to see her at their doorstep was to let her in, for reasons unknown to them.

Her mind was far from things as she continued up the stairs and into a room that she was familiar with.

She took a few deep breaths before knocking lightly, knowing the situation at hand.

The door was opened by a man her age, who regarded her a kind smile that flashed with pity for he knew what she was planning.

The lass gave a small smile back, but hers was filled to the brim with sadness, a lone, sneaky tear falling off her eyes.

She mentally dissed herself for letting it go so visibly, but managed to hold her composure.

She further walked in the room, the sudden sounds of a child crying hit her ears. She glanced up at the male and saw him smile. This time, it was filled with joy and victory.

She soon approached the bed where another woman lay. The lady's blonde hair was all over the place, and her skin was pale, showing her tiredness.

On her side layed a small babe, all wrapped around in soft, silky blankets.

Once the blonde had seen her friend, a bit of her stress seemed to vanish completely, and was replaced by a wide smile.

"Sheera." The woman on the bed breathed out. Only one word was said, but it was filled with various emotions.

Relief. Sadness. Joy. Love. Caring. Worry.

Sheera could only be so grateful for the wonderful friend that she had been acquainted with ever since their childhoods.

"You're here." She continued and tried to sit up, only for her husband to rush up to her side and urge her to lay back down.

"Odelia, please, do not try to stay upright. It would not be the most convenient position. Trust me, I know." Sheera said, muttering the last part mostly to herself.

A silence filled with grief and hesitation swept over them as they were all carried to their thoughts. Addressing the elephant in the room was a bit harder than they thought.

Finally, the man spoke up, "Sheera, are you sure to do this? We are your friends, yes, but your child... She needs to have her own mother."

Sheera was quiet before speaking with sadness in her tone, "Do you think I am not aware, Aldwyn? I would do anything, anything, to keep her by my side, but alas; I value her life more than my own happiness."

Another period of still quiet passed again before Sheera walked over to the married couple and their newborn girl.

With strength that she knew not where it came from, she gently placed the baby in her arms on the bed beside the Ginemoux's daughter.

The three grown-ups watched as Sheera's child wrapped her hand protectively on the fingers of Odelia and Aldwyn's baby.

The green-eyed beauty was born a day before the girl with brown eyes, so it was quite obvious who was the older one between them both.

A soft sob broke out of Sheera's throat as she watched her child looking so content in the strange area's confines.

She then gently bowed to to reach her child and gave her a soft but lingering kiss on the forehead, for she knew more than anyone that it may be the last time in a long, long time she would get to see her own offspring.

She then walked over to her friends and gave them both a tight embrace, each one of them aware that the chances of them seeing again was slim to none.

"Odelia," Sheera's voise cracked, "Promise me. Promise me that you would keep my dear child safe from all that wants to harm her."

"I promise, my friend. I promise." Odelia vowed.

"Aldwyn, please be the father that her own couldn't be towards her. Please..."

He nodded firmly. "She is now also of my own, Sheera. I will treat her as I do to my daughter."

They spent the next fifteen minutes with each other, the fact that their trusted ones were there for them was enough to fill in the silence.

"Catherine."

The Ginemoux couple turned their heads to Sheera who suddenly announced a name.

She continued, "Name her 'Catherine', for it means 'pure', as her prophesy has told."

The other two nodded in understanding as they watched the children as they slept soundly next to each other, their hands not moving away from the past position.

"I love you, my child. I vow to all the Gods and Godesses that I will return for you when the time is right." Sheera promised with convinction.

Without waiting for another moment to let her change her mind, Sheera ran out of the room, her heart breaking every step she took farther away from her babe.

And Sheera Bennett was never seen again by Odelia and Aldwyn Ginemoux.

Hey Cagna!

Z here again with ANOTHER new book that I have 67% of not updating at again!

Now, why did I even bother publishing it if I weren't going to update regularly, anyway?

Well, because this plot has been around my brain for a lot of time lately, and unlike Girl of the Gangs, this one has an ACTUAL WRITTEN PLOT.

I was just planning on winging it at GotG.

Onto important stuff, updates will be... At least once a week.

I'm actually planning on writing stuff in this book.

What will be in this book?

EXPECT 11% CLICHÉ STUFF. THE WHOLE 89% IS NOT CLICHÉ.

I heavily dislike -note HATE- clichés, so if ever you see me with one, it's the 11% percent.

Last part, this book will be in THIRD PERSON POV.

Next part will be cast aesthetics!

That's all, I think I've covered it.

Byeeee!
