Chapter 6 - All For Macaroons

'Wow, it sure is crowded.'
Just as Eric thought of this, someone accidentally elbowed him, earning a huff from his mouth. He soon heard a laugh, and turned to glare at his older brother that was guffawing at him. Choosing to roll his eyes and ignore the immature elder, he went back on his trail to explore the city.
Loud shouts and happy laughter echoed in the busy streets from the people who were preparing for the festivities, and even though the festival was yet to start, the actions of the crowd made it seem as if it had already started.
After a while of simply walking around and exploring, Eric soon complained that he was hungry, so the boys headed to a place they could find good food. They came across the part of the town where there were shops full of food, along with stands where food that they have never seen before were being prepared.
The brothers were in awe of the scene, as they have never been to a place where there were lots of other Mythicals. Sure, they have seen plenty in Zephirus, but there were mostly just flying creatures there. Macrocosmus was the central kingdom; the biggest one, so all kinds of Mythicals lived there, along with some that are only found in Macrocosmus.
As they were walking, Derrick suddenly froze, his eyes stuck on a figure that was seated in a chair outside a store. It seemed as if the world had stopped and blurred, as his eyes wouldn't, or couldn't, start away from the sight before him.
It was a girl. She had luscious golden blonde hair, the lightest green eyes that he ever saw, and naturally pink lips. She was looking downwards, her head turned from him, but he couldn't help but wish that she was looking at him instead. In her hands was a book, which she seemed so engrossed in. Her perfectly arched brows were slightly furrowed in concentration as she read on, oblivious to the lot of people staring at her.
One of them being Derrick.
"You're staring." Derrick jumped at the voice that breathed behind his ear, and this time, it was Eric that was whooping in laughter. He nudged his older brother, and said with a gurn, "Well, brother, I believe that we have found a wonderful place to rest ouf feet and eat, don't you agree?" Without waiting for a response, Eric patted Derrick's shoulder and headed in the pastry-filled bakery.
Just his luck, a family that was sitting in a table just beside this maiden stood and walked away. Quickly taking the opportunity, he walked to the vacant table and sat in the chair. He took a peak at the book she was reading and found it to be something that he had read before.
"Fletcher deserved Emma more than Marcus." He accidentally blurted out loud, making the two of them freeze. Feeling the need to continue, he said, "What I meant was, while Marcus and Emma do love each other, Fletcher was the one who made more effort, and I believe that he deserves her more than Marcus here."
A beat of silence passed, and just as Derrick thought that he messed everything up, he saw a smile crack in the girl's face.
"Oh, but Sir, I believe that while Fletcher did do more effort, and that he is far richer than Marcus, Marcus and Emma love each other so much. I think that even though one might try more, it's who the heart wants that will prevail." Catherine argued back with a fond smile. Upon seeing the expression that was etched in the lass's face, Derrick gave a wide grin back.

The bell dinged as Eric pushed it open, and he was ambushed by the wonderful aroma of the delectables. The small bakery was filled with people eating various kinds of pastries, making him gulp and lick his lips at the sweet smell that was new to him. He looked at the glass display in front of him and saw many different delicacies. Some he'd seen before, and some that were new to him.
"Hello! I haven't seen you in these parts before... Are you new here, boy?" A voice said, startling him. He turned to see a middle-aged woman, and by his guess, a witch.
"Uh, yes, actually." He politely replied, giving a smile to the elder witch.
"Oh, look at that accent! Say, are you from Zephirus lad?" The question made him freeze, but decided on doing a nod nonetheless. "Well, nice to meet you. I'm Miranda Couffaine, and this is my bakery. Anything catching your sights?"
With that question, Eric's eyes lit up, and he immediately nodded, "Yes, I would like this, uh... What is this..?" He asked, pointing to the multicolored macaroons on display.
"Nice choice! And, those are what we call 'macaroons'." Mrs. Couffaine informed him as she packed him a small blue box with the kaleidoscopic desserts.
As he took a bite, he moaned at the burst of flavor that reached his tongue. There weren't any of these in his kingdom, that's for sure; and if there were, he probably never tasted one because he was not one to wander in the 'commoners' street', as he liked to call it.
Just as he was about to take another one, he was halted as he heard someone shout, "Hey, those are my macaroons! Give them back, you thief!" He tilted his head and saw a short brunette, glaring at him with malice. "Yes, you. Now, give me my food back!" She said as he stared at her with an incredulous look.
"Whatever are you talking about, Miss? This is mine. I bought it." He almost snapped, annoyed that she would dare stop a prince such as him from having another of these delicious pastries. And, of course, call him a thief!
"No, it is mine. I bought it and put it on this counter," She tapped the counter that the both of them were standing in front of, "Because I simply had to greet someone! I know that it is mine." She argued still.
Surprising Àimèe, the strange male in front of her smirked, and slowly -as if he was taunting her- put a blue macaroon in his mouth. All the while his deep blue eyesnstaring straight at her light brown ones. She watched, seething as he chewed and swallowed, making her eye twitch.
He then gave her a teasing and cheeky grin, saying immaturely, "What are you going to do now, chicken?"
That was when she lost it. She made a couple of steps backward, and with a determined look, she let out a very unladylike shout, startling everyone in the vicinity, especially Eric, whose eyes widened in shock, horror, and amusement. She then ran towards him, as she continued her war cry, and shocking everyone that was watching, she jumped on him.

"No, no! Emma's brother is David, and Fletcher's brother is Daniel." Catherine said with a laugh as she corrected Derrick, who had seemed to forget certain parts of the book.
"Oh, you are correct! Now I remember." He chuckled, "Apologies, Milady, for it has been quite a while since I've read this book. I only truly remember the main points." That was a lie, for he had only finished this book two days ago. He had only said this to lengthen the conversation, for he did not want it to end so quickly.
"So, about Marcus' mum--" Catherine was cut off by a loud breaking of the glass, making them, and everyone that was in the streets nearby, freeze and stare at the happenings. As per his training, Derrick reflexively took Cath by the wrist and pushed her behind him, his eyes narrow whilst hers were wide in shock.
To everyone's surprise, what they saw was extremely comical. The infamous Lady Àimèe Ginemoux that was notorious for causing trouble, was straddling a male. And it did not look erotic at all. She was punching him one hand, and choking him with the other. An angry scowl was written on her face, rage present in her eyes. Meanwhile, Eric, even though there was a girl on top of him with an aim to damage, was still wearing a highly amused and mischievous smile. Even his eyes showed the joy for the entertainment in front -or on top- of him.
Once Catherine and Derrick recognized their younger siblings, they rolled their eyes simultaneously. At first, Derrick was worried someone had come to harm him and his brother, because of their high statues, but upon seeing both faces, it appears that his brother had only found someone to annoy. Catherine, on the other hand, was worried that her sister might hurt the stranger.
Finally choosing to interfere once Eric winced, Derrick stepped forward, "Alright, alright. Enough of that, brother."
At the same time, Catherine rushed to her sister with mixed emotions. Worry, concern, disapproval, and amusement. "Come on, Àimèe. Get off of him, please." She said with a smile that she was trying hard to hide.
With a pout, Àimèe stood up, but once she did, she decided to give him a final blow. As she lifted her boot-cladded foot, a look of pure horror was planted on Eric's face, his heart pounding with fear. With no hesitation, Àimèe descended her foot to the middle of his legs, reaching the target straight on. Eric shouted loud on pain, other males that had their eyes on the scene also winced; some even subconsciously covered their areas.
"That's what you get for stealing my macaroons!" Àimèe sneered. Hearing her sister's words, it was Catherine's turn to widen her eyes in horror. Seeing her older sister's face, Àimèe raised a confused brow, "What?"
With shallow breaths, Catherine replied, "Àimèe... Was this all for your macaroons?"
"Yes. Yes, it was." Àimèe stated lowly, eyeing the lad that was still groveling on the ground with no regret.
"But, Àimèe... You gave your macaroons to me earlier after you bought them!" Catherine exclaimed, holding up a box of macaroons that looked exactly the same as the ones with Eric earlier.
What will Àimèe do with this information now? Would Catherine and Derrick converse more? And most importantly, is Eric still able to have children?

Lmao, I enjoyed that. But it all sounded way better in my head. Anyway, pic up there is Àimèe and Ericson aka Eric. And yes, Emma Watson and Zac efron.
Also, my apologies for the poor picture quality.
Edit: I added macaroons too.
