Anirudh's POV

Anika, the moment when it came out from shashank's mouth in a bawled voice. I felt the world in silence, I couldn't hear anything other than her name loudly! I was tensed! What happened to my niku? What happened to her? That was all my questions right now!

"Anika ku accident aiiduchidaa machan. She's admitted at the ICU." Shashank said, crying.

Hearing this, I didn't know how to react, sorta like just shut down. My face goes slack, mouth slightly opens, body unmoving and colour draining. I just starred at shashank with a wide-eyed look.

My hand slowly loosened, leaving the hold of his collar. I could feel my eyes turning red and the tears welling up. I don't know what to do at this moment! I was so broken down like my whole world was shattered down.

"Niku..." I shouted, at out of my lungs.

Not caring about anything, I just ran towards the ICU room to have a look at my niku. Never in my life I dreamt of a scenario that would happen happen for me, no for my niku.

Why does is it always her ? I ran trembly as I couldn't digest the fact in. All my happiness into meet her just vanished like an ashtray!

As I got closer to the ICU ward room, I felt an arm on my chest, stopping me from getting in. I glanced at the person infront brokenly, it's anu stopping me and behind my boys pulling me out. I badly want to see my niku's face, my lollypie's face.

"Anu !! What happened to my niku? I want to see her please." I said, trying to break the hold of my friends hand.

"You can't see Anika now!" Anu said, in a very strict voice.

"Why? Don't I have the rights? Why can't you people understand my pain? What happened to her can someone tell me please!" I said, lasting out my emotions firmly.

"Calm down da ani! Anu will let you soon to see anika." Sreyas said, convincingly.

I didn't take his convinced words into my ears all I wanted now was to see my lollypie.

"Ani ! Anika is under treatment she's in a very serious and critical condition. Chief doctors are treating Anika at their level best. It's really hard to save anika's life." Anu said, fixing her gaze at the floor.

Speechless and numb! The hot wet tears fill up my eyes, my throat closed tight and each word pitched higher than the last in an effort to squeak out the words that were bottled up inside me.

Finally the tears spilt over and flowed down my face like a river excaping a dam. So, shattered to hear this from anu. What must have happened for my niku to be in a critical condition? Questions just kept on muddling on my head.

"Hard to save anika's life!" I gasped, saying it within myself.

Everyone of my friends faced down! Everything just turned to the opposite way, my surprise, my happiness literally my whole world is in a critical condition now.

"Are you trying to say that anika will leave me, indirectly?" I questioned, brokenly.

"Probabilities are that way. We're working our best level to bring anika back to normal. Ani you really need to calm yourself." Anu said, trying to console me.

"How to calm myself anu? My Niku is in a miserable state inside. Did I just fly all the way from Los Angeles to see my Niku this way? I left her all alone with all your trusts but see now what I have got to see." I said, crying under my breath feeling so hurted.

"Ani, she was in our control these whole week of days. But today, everything just went out of our ways. I seriously wonder why she left the house though I informed her that I will buy her food." Sreyas said.

"Anu I don't know what you will do! Please give me my niku back to me. I'm just done with all these shits." I stated, firmly.

"I'm trying my best level to bring Anika back. I myself as a sister to Anika feel broken to see her like that. Just keep your prays for her ani." Anu said, holding my hand.

"Anu, doctor krishnan is calling you." A young lady nurse, came from behind and approached anu.

Anu was called by the chief doctor. As she left the place, I just sat down in the floor in my knees with tears overflowing down my eyes. It has been days I saw my niku happy and her smiles damn I only how much I missed them. I can hear my friends consoling me, putting me up on the chair to sit. But I'm like a statue where I can't hear anything! All my thoughts are only on my girl, anika.

"Ani, the chief doctor wants to talk to you personally." Anu said, breaking my train of thoughts.

I wiped off my tears and adjusted my shirt neatly. Still I couldn't hide the depression on my face. I was scared about what the doctor was going to say! But, I kept my hopes positively deep inside my heart. I entered into the chiefs room along with anu, respectfully.

"Please take your seat Mr.Anirudh" Dr.krishnan said, politely.

I took my seat silently in nervousness and anu sat beside me.

"So, Mr.Anirudh how long has it been since you got married to Anika?" Dr.krishnan asked.

"It's 2 months already doctor!" I said, in a very low tone.

I have no idea why he asked me a question like that!

"Oh! Well, we have given out our best level to save anika's life but we were only able to save 30% of her life. She has been injured severely. The other 70% can be saved only with our treatments but we can't assure you whether that will help or not.But now we want know what actually happened to your wife. Because an accident won't look this miserable and it will not take this much of time for us to save her life. We could have saved her from getting into seriousness if it was an accident. But it doesn't seem like an accident." Doctor krishnan said, earnestly.

"Actually doctor we don't know what actually happened. Anirudh, he just landed in town and straight away came here. Only my finance know what actually happened to her." Anu speaked out.

I couldn't open up my mouth to talk after hearing those words from doctor. It doesn't look like an accident then what must have happened to her other than this?

"Okay, so what I suspect is that anika must have been harassed by some group of people and that will be a cause for her abortion and to be in critical condition. If it was an accident she wouldn't have been bleeding that much. Anu you know how much blood she loosed." Dr.Krishnan said, in a serious tone.

I looked up at the doctor in an utter shock and surprised to be! Abortion? Wait! My Niku is pregnant or what! I tuned my body towards anu and faced her in confusion.

"Abortion? What is he saying anu?" I asked, confusedly.

"Ani, anika was 1 week pregnant to say this is her first trimester and to be her confirmation of pregnant but now that all died because her uterus is injured severely and it came into an abortion. She lost so much of blood due this not only that there are no possibilities for her to become pregnant again!" Anu said, letting out a tear.

"There are possibilities for her to become pregnant but we can't assure you that can make her to delivery the baby safely. She will have so many difficulties on this it wouldn't be like how a normal pregnancy will be. Her uterus is so weak now. She will start to miss her menstruation cycle and everything. So, we have decided is that, it's better to do hysterectomy for Anika but for that we need your permission we can't do anything without your permission. We are liking to do this for anika's good health.This is the only serious thing that's going on anika's case now. Other than that, she have fractured her leg and her right hand and a hard injury on her head." Dr.Krishnan said.

"No! No ! I don't agree to this! No!" I said, getting up from the chair furiously.

Both of them looked at me shocked and one kind. I know I shouldn't have behaved like this but after coming to know about my niku's health report. I just couldn't calm myself. It was all her happiness and dream to have a baby but no everything left her!

"Ani, relax! Calm down please. We have no other choice other than this." Anu said, concernedly.

"No anu I can't let this happen. Hysterectomy is not possible for anika. If she knows this she will be hurted so much. Please, anu try other things to save anika out from this." I said, pleadingly with tears running down on my face.

"There are medicines right please provide that. I have the hope that this will help anika to come back to life." I added.

"Medicines won't cure her problem 100% anirudh you need to understand that." Dr.Krishnan said, strictly.

"No! Please I'm not giving the permission for this. Anika won't be able to take that much pain in her." I said, crying.

"Anu, I have given my opinion on this. You discuss about this with him and come with a good decision. Doing hysterectomy will definitely bring your sister back to life. And Keep in mind that she will go to coma in two days if she doesn't get her consciousness back!" Dr.Krishnan said, keenly and left the room.

I stood up and walked towards the window feeling so broken. I just can't let this happen to my anika. I have the hope that she'll definitely come back to life without doing hysterectomy.

"Ani, think properly and say. It's your life." Anu said, in a low tone.

"I'm keen on with my decision anu. I can't agree for hysterectomy operation. Anika will come back to life without doing that I have the hope." I said, with over confidencly.

"How sure are you ani? All the doctors say that doing hysterectomy surgery can only save anika from everything. Even I feel the same. To get anika back for us we have no other choice other than this ani." Anu said, earnestly.

I turned around and faced anu, desperately.

"Anu, you're talking as a doctor not as a sister to Anika. For a second just think how Anika will feel when she comes to know about this? You don't know how much she loves to have a baby for herself. Didn't you hear there are possibilities for her to become pregnant if hysterectomy doesn't take place. Whatever happens to Anika without doing that operation, I will take care of her. No matter what I will manage everything. But please I don't want this operation to happen. Do some other treatments but not this." I said, bawled.

"Okay ani i will do the way how you want it to be. But it's really hard for us to hide all this away from Anika. She can have doubts at times. We should be conscious with everything ani." Anu said.

"I will take care of that also. Just for my sake and for anika's sake please hide this from her especially the news that she was pregnant." I said, in a serious tone.

"I will talk about this with chief doctor and tell you about the final decision ani. And one more thing Anika wasn't cautions about her pregnancy. I mean she doesn't know." Anu said.

I looked at anu bluntly. I actually felt relieved in one way as it will be easy to hide the whole story away from Anika.

"How come? She must have got all the symptoms of pregnancy right?" I said, with a questioning look.

"Ani, you know well about anika. She won't take anything about herself serious. She must have not cared about her health so she wasn't conscious about this. Avaa oru kozhlandhaa nu neethaan solli irukae apparam yeppdi avaa indhaa vishiyadhula cautions aah irundhu irukah." Anu said, with a playful smile on her face.

That last phrase made me to smile to myself. Indeed, she's right on this. No words to say, anika's always like that.

"Anu, Yennaku yen niku vaa pakkanum." I asked, in husky voice.

"Sure ani you can!" Anu said, with a smile on her face.

Taking a deep breath inside, Before getting on the mission to find the actual scenario of my anika's accident. I wanted to see her, talk to her and share so many things with her. I made my way towards the ICU room, without making any sound I hold the handle bar of the door and pulled it to see my lollypie on the hospital bed, with lots of wires around her and around the place. Doctor had already told me that she is still in unconsciousness and they don't know when she will gain her conscious back.

It all will happen only if hysterectomy operation happens. But not at all willing that to happen. I slowly made my steps towards her. Tears just kept running down my cheeks. Her body is plastered in several places. Those scars on her face and hand hyped my doubts more. I brought up my hand forward near to her stomach and crushed my fingers together as I couldn't take the pain that one life of ours has left!

Tears rapidly flowed down my cheeks! I can feel my throat tighten. I bend myself over to her and cupped her face with my hands.

"Ba-Baby.. Lollypie, I-I-I.. Niku, Can you feel the pain of me? I guess no, but baby I can feel your pain. I don't know how to say but now I really feel guilty for leaving you here alone. Why baby? Our life alone has to play a critical game. I just don't get it. Did I just come down all the way from LA to see you in a condition like this. Look how faith plays with us, I wanted to surprise you with my presence but see how it played with me." I said, weepingly.

There was no movement or response from her. She was kept there like a statue sleeping on the bed. I lowered down myself, moving more close to her.

"Anil.. yennaku oru papa venum yennaku nee thaaruviya! Do you remember that lollypie? This one always echoes inside my ears every day and time. Only one reason, no could have asked that so adorably like you. As you wished it happened, though I wasn't interested in it. I did it just for your happiness. But now, everything collapsed and it died. The thing you were wanting from me left you niku. It will never return back to us Niku.. Nee aasaiya kettadhu unna vittu poiduchi unnakae theriyama. I'm sorry lollypie I have to hide this from you. I don't know how I'm going to divert you from everything after this but then I have to because I can't see you broken and cry for a baby. And to say this again, I'm not ready to see a promotion for you or me, you're there for me as my lollypie, my babygirl." I said, placing my head near to her head and tilting it my right.

"Niku, all I want now is just you.Only YOU! Please baby, don't leave me and go.Theripiyum yen baby Niku aah vandhuu yenna anil nu kupudu ma. Squirrel nu kupudu, lollipop venum anil nu sollu. Yeppomae solluviyae yen kadhuu kittah vandhu I love you nu, sollu ma. I miss everything of you Niku! Your smile, that immatured character, that cute angry look of you. I need all that back from you niku. Yenna paaru ma yendhurichii. Please.." I said, crying loudly just laying down on her.

Literally, I was soaking her dress. I just couldn't control my emotions. Seeing, my anika like this is just so cruel. She was happily roaming around all by her own, showered love to everyone from little to elderly peoples. Now, everything of her died and she's like a coma patient at this hospitalised surroundings.

Laying myself on her after so many days, I felt shivers under my spine though her body was that coldly heated up. I felt so secured to be around her but yet I still reminded to cry. Cried as much as I could. I badly want my world to get up boldly and talk to me. Just on time, I felt an arm touching me on one of my shoulder. I shirked and turned to have a look at the person. It's none else than sreyas !

"Machan !" Sreyas voiced out, unsurely.

I turned around and looked at him, brokenly. I can see how broken he's at the moment too! I had no strength in me to control my tears, it rapidly just followed on!

"Ani, niku's dad have come! I don't know how to convince him. I'm not able to understand anything that's going around machan. Seeing you like this, I feel like killing myself I don't know why. Machan, just a few consoling words from you to niku's dad will make him to feel relieved da!" Sreyas said, earnestly.

I wiped my face clearly, getting set to try my best to console anika's dad. More than my pain, I can purely feel niku's dad pain. No father will wish for her daughters life to be like this! I exited the room and walked towards the lobby. Keeping my steps slowly towards them, a little boy who looked like Vicky anika's friend. Just within a step forward, I assumed that it's vicky.

He came running towards me and hugged me on my knees. I was astonished and shattered! My hands made its way up to hold him and soothe him. I was surprised to see only anika's dad but not her mom on the other side my eyes captured my parents at the corner. Letting out a gasp, I knelt down on my knees to catch up with the height level of vicky.

"Anirudh Sir, I'm not going to ask how is anika or can we see her. Only one thing I want to say is anika will definitely come back to normal. She will not leave us! Me and my friends have arranged a prayer for niku in my house. So you stay strong my RuthStar." Vicky said,wobbly.

I just clutched him into a brief bone crushing hug. I was impressed by his words and maturity, glad that anika fond herself with cute little mates. His words hyped my confidence, hope and everything! I gifted a warm smile at him and got up from the place. He left me speechless!

"Appa, when did you come here!" Anu said, coming up from behind.

As I heard anu's voice I stopped myself. Firstly I wasn't ready for anything, sure now anu is going to talking on behalf of me.

"Just now anu! How is Anika? What did the doctor say?" Anika's dad, asked panickingly.

"Appa, Anika is in very serious condition! I and other doctors are working on to save anika from going to coma. The more depressing fact is that it's not possible for anika to become as mom." Anu said, fixing her gaze at the floor.

In one span seconds of movement, from corner of my eyes I saw anika's dad losing himself down on the floor, holding his chest.

"Uncle! Sreyu get some water da!" I yelled.

Sreyas quickly ran to get some water from anu's room as her room was just near. Anika's dad couldn't take anu's utterance and that gave him an utter shock. I quickly hold him on my arms luckily he didn't get fall and he wasn't into the serious condition. It's just that he couldn't take the fact that his daughter is suffering terribly.

Just then, sreyas came with a water bottle and made him to have it. After having it, all he was able to do is cry, cry for his daughter just laying on my arms. Seeing everything right infront of my eyes, I wanted to cry along with him.

"How did it happen? Why does only my daughter has to face so much of hurdles in her life." Anika's dad, said bawled.

"Appa, neega yen paa ingaa vandhingaa. Amma kudam vaarala ungaa kuda.. Neega veetuku pongaa paa anika ku onnum aagadhu." Anu said, tearing a little as she couldn't see her dad broken deeply.

"Naa ingaa veraa maa ippdi ma? At home your mom is cooly sitting on sofa and watching tv rather than not worrying for her daughter. I just couldn't be there and let my ears listen to your mom's curses on Niku. Anu ma, please tell me what actually happened to Anika." Anika's dad said, devastatedly.

"Appa, what's there to say? Everything is gone appa. Doctors suspect that Anika.."

"Anu stop! Enough!" I voiced out loudly, stopping anu from what she was planned to say.

Anika's dad and anu looked at me confusedly clueless. I was so sure about what anu planned to say. If anika's dad comes to know the exact situation of anika, where everybody is only watching us definitely there will be a big messy drama going on. And I didn't wanted that to happen.

"What's wrong? Why did you stop her." Anika's dad questioned.

"Uncle! I'm sorry for doing that! I just don't want you to go so down. Please for now you go back home and relax yourself. Anika is safe, once she gets her conscious back we will inform you." I said, earnestly.

"But..But ani.." Anika's dad protested.

"Uncle please! Sid, drop uncle and Vicky safe in home." I said, getting up from the bench and moving away from them.

Sid convinced anika's dad and took him to home listening to my words. I can understand anika's dad pain so much but I just don't want more emotions flow on this place at this moment.

"So, ani what have you decided? Still going to spend all your days and months for that psychiatric girl?" A familiar masculine voice was heard from behind.

Obviously, It's my dad! As per my instincts the drama starts. I guess my dad was waiting for this day to come and smash everything upside down.

"Paa, what are you speaking? Of course I have to, she has no one other than me." I said, raising my voice a little.

"You gave her life but she childishly loses it because of carelessness. Look now, you have got nothing to prove that who lived with her. Think properly, if you say yes now there's so many girls waiting for you to give a peaceful life for you. Now all you need to think of is this not how to save her life." Anirudh's dad said.

"Paa, can you and mom leave the hospital now. I have no ears to listen to your words and my love is there for her to give everything she needs after this. Look her paa, none others girls in this world will not satisfy the needs of me like how anika did. So please, you don't talk about this and just leave." I said, with a voice full of angerness.

How cheap my dad is! Never ever in my life I thought my dad would go this extreme. I just can't leave my anika like that and go find another life. She's all mine! ONLY MINE!

"Alright then, I think it's time for me to decide who should stay in home and who shouldn't! You're definitely going to face alot of problems after this anirudh. Just keep that in mind." Anirudh's dad said, reculantly.

He left the saying that! I didn't really take it serious, though he decided to push me away from the house I still have the right ways to stay in that home. At this moment I just felt like banging something and breaking things. His words about Anika was seriously hurting me.

"Ani, I know you're mad at your dad. But why did you send anika's dad back home? I just don't get why you let him hear anu's explanation and let him see anika." Sreyas asked, confusedly.

"Yeppdi da solla solldraa!! Doctors suspect that anika wasn't met with an accident but someone has harassed her. She was pregnant and now it went in abortion. Yeppdi idhaa avaa appa kittah solla solldraa? I myself can't digest it how will her dad take it in? Did you see how he was losing himself down when anu said it's not possible for Anika to back." I said, crying stupidly.

Sreyas stood still and freezed. He was dumbfounded! His thoughts went on who must have harassed Anika. And he was feeling guilty for leaving Anika alone.

"Doctors are right anika wasn't met with an accident. She was harassed in Express Avenue mall." Shashank spoke up slowly.

Anirudh and everyone looked at shashank clueless!

"Machan, I don't really know how she was harassed and thrown. But with my calculations of doubts I'm sure she was harassed. When I entered the mall to park my car at the parking lot. First I saw a white audi car and black Volkswagen driving so fast and three-five goons with rods and moving more that's where I found anika thrown down. But one thing ani, that Audi car and Volkswagen looked so familiar to me." Shashank said.

"Wait! Shanky you said it's a white Audi car right ?!" Sreyas asked, doubtfully.

"Yes da!" Shanky replied.

"Check if it's this car!" Sreyas said, pulled his phone out from the pocket, showing a picture of the car.

Shashank took a glance at the picture of the car and he turned surprisingly shock.

"Yes! This is the car which I saw in EA mall."

"Freaking shit! It's Rohit's car." Sreyas said, under his breath banged on his head using his hand.

"What!!" Anu and Shashank yelled.

Okay, I was the only one who didn't react anything. I'm confused so confused! I have no idea about who they're talking about but one thing made me to curious on the person Rohit! WHO THE HELL IS HE ?!

"Who is Rohit!" I asked, with an angered look.

"Ani.." Sreyas dragged my name with a voice full of hesitation.

"Sreyu, there's nothing to hide from Anirudh after this! If hide then we will not be able to see our anika in this world." Anu said, in a serious tone.

"Oh come on guys, you all are hyping up my curiosity. What did you guys hide from me ? Who's Rohit ?!" I asked, raising my voice louder.

"Ani, Rohit is no one else other than niku's college mate. Rohit and anika were same group student but different classes. Those times when Anika was studying she had only me and aravind to play around with and share all her stories." Sreyas said, with a smile crept on his face.

The name aravind got me speechless! They both knew each other and my anika never shared this with me.

"Anika's life went so well till her 3rd year. Her close friend was sanaa and Rohit, out from college her only close friend and everything was aravind. She got close to him through me. And that's how iyappan, shanky and sid came to know about anika. Infact, she knows well about you also during the times of her college. As her life was going so well filled with lots of happiness, her close friend Rohit's true colours were shown out to the world. He was doing a illegal business with drugs and was giving it to the girls how studied in anika's college. Anika came to know this and she wanted to stop Rohit. But then, she was blackmailed by Rohit saying that he has a video of her taking shower in bathroom... Anika was helpless after that, but aravind didn't leave this matter just like that. He did something erased that video and gave the punishment to rohit through court and case. Rohit's brother is a very big trading company owner he used influence and killed aravind setting it up like an accident. The reason because he was the reason for rohit to be in jail. Of course,his next aim was anika I knew that so I safe guarded her by making her to stay with me in London for few months. But seriously She couldn't take anything of that inside, she saw that incident in front of her eyes. Just then next day after aravind's death her friend sanaa passed way due to cancer and she was forced to use drugs alot by Rohit as he was her boyfriend. Anika couldn't achieve what she wanted after that. She left her studies in the half term and stayed in home." Sreyas finished giving his explanations.

"Ani, you have seen anika as a child, immatured person. But we have seen her being bold and talented to solve with her wisely. It's just that She immatured by heart." Anu said.

After hearing the secret behind of anika's life, I'm with lack of words! I seriously don't know whether to praise or appreciate my anika. She has been a gem in past years. How was she able to hide everything and be so childish. I just didn't know what to talk, I just feel to go back to my den, my studio and rest myself. I wanted a free space for myself.

Without uttering anything to my friends, with a restless look I walked out of the hospital and got into sreyas car. Good that his car key was with me! I can hear my friends screaming my name loudly, I wasn't in the mood to listen to them. I just wanted to be alone.

"Shanky, you stay here and take care of anika. I will go convince him, he won't go anywhere other than to albu." Sreyas said, rushing his feet off towards shashank's car.

Hola, my beautiful readers :) Here's my update after so long. Sorry for not updating though I received plenty of messages asking about my next update. I was held up with my works and studies, will try my best to update on time but you all guys have to wait patiently for it.
