Chapter 01:

It was now time to act.

After discovering that those of the Hiragi Clan had beaten the young heir of the Ichinose Clan, Guren Ichinose, the Head of the Honda Clan knew he couldn't allow this chance to slip away.

The Honda Clan, it had been a typical clan of those studied magic and possessed one hundred and fifty years of history. Nothing extraordinary. Well, that was until Estelita Vivas had married into the family. Estelita, after she had wedded Asao Honda, everyone in the world had acknowledged her as the Empress of Spells, possessing unique magic that only she could cast. The Honda Clan had been alleviated into fame, now standing among top clans of Japan, of the world that had been established centuries or millenniums before them.

Asao and Estelita Honda had a daughter, Izarra. And just like her late mother she was a prodigy amidst prodigies once it came to magic.

The very reason why Asao wanted to pay a visit to the Ichinose Clan was because of Izarra. He desired to propose marriage between Guren and his daughter.

The reasons why he wished to suggest this proposal was because: the Ichinose Clan had more history than them, they had more followers, they had almost the same ideals, only fell short compared to the Hiragis and mainly because they had defected from the Hiragi Family.

Asao could predict in the near future if the Ichinose Family held more power, they could overthrow the Hiragis. That power that could help aid them was his child, Izarra Honda.

After Guren, his son being injured by the Hiragis like that, Asao knew that there was a high possibility now then ever that Sakae Ichinose would agree to the marriage. He was going to use this incident. What kind of parent didn't desire power to protect their offspring?

••••

It was late afternoon.

In a western styled room, a six year old girl was fiddling with tools, putting together a female humanoid puppet. Once she was done, she laid down on the carpeted ground and opened up a spell book her mother had left behind. She perused the ancient inscriptions and turned the pages, humming.

This six year old, she was Izarra Honda. Lustrous long umber hair tumbled from her head, hanging in front of her forehead and framing her adorable face. Her gray eyes that held interest as she read showed the little girl was mixed, including her alabaster skin. She was dressed in a long sleeved white shirt adorned with a loose light pink ribbon tied underneath the top's peter collars, a short white ruffled skirt with a pink waistband and pink thin stocks that ran pass her knees.

Chanting a spell in her head as she held her small hand out towards the puppet, a gray aura cloaked the puppet and it commenced to shake side to side, rattling. Then poof, the aura vanished.

Izarra puffed out her cheeks then let out that breath of air, because of her failed spell. Putting her index finger on her chin she said, "as I thought. Even something like this for me would be somewhat hard." She retrieved a star shaped notebook she had to the side, jotting down words. Then the umber haired girl giggled, the deep dimple on her right cheek making its appearance "but I will not allow something like this to hinder me.~"

When she was going to try the spell once more with a few added adjustments, the heiress of the Honda Clan heard three knocks on her door.

"You may enter." Acknowledged Izarra.

The door swung open and a maid appeared, "Izarra-sama, your father has just returned and summoned you to his office. He has something to inform you of."

"Understood." As the gray eyed girl followed, she pondered what her father had summoned her for.

All Izarra knew was that Asao had urgently left the compound early in the morning after being informed something by his retainers. Could it possibly have something to do with that? She shrugged her shoulders, 'then, I guess I have to find out from him personally.' Izarra entered her father's study after he had granted her permission to do so.

Asao had his arms folded behind his back as he gazed out the window. Without turning back to look at his daughter, he told her. "Take a seat, Zarra."

Following his order, Izarra took a seat in front of her father's glossy wooden office table.

"As you may have know, I left the compound early this morning." He started, then continued. "It was because I went to the Ichinose Clan to propose marriage between you and their heir, Guren Ichinose. They accepted and now he is your fiance."

Izarra wasn't shock one bit, because she knew later down in the future that her father would decide who she would wed.

"The portfolio on the desk has his profile. You may read it." He drew Izarra's attention to it.

Opening the black portfolio folder, the umber haired girl saw a photograph of her fiance to the left side of the front page and commented. "Hah, he is adorable. He will surely be handsome once he grows up.~" Izarra didn't care who she was going to marry in the future. The only thing that intrigued the little girl was magic, but that did not mean she wouldn't mind a husband who was easy on the eyes. Plus, if she had to marry a non-attractive person, she would only feel pity for her children if they didn't inherit her ethereal looks. "I wonder when it will be a good time to eat him up.~" She placed her index finger on her chin.

Asao sweat-dropped. He already knew that Izarra was very mature for her age, but wondered who exactly did his daughter inherit her personality from. When it came to personality wise she wasn't like him or his wife, Estelita.

She continued to scan the rest of files in thought, 'hmm, born August 28th, 1996. He is a year younger than me.' She giggled, 'this is going to be fun.~'

"You will be going to the Ichinose's mansion tomorrow because Sakae-san wants to meet you. You will also be able to see Guren-kun. You can read the rest of his information in your room and don't stay up late into the night with your magic. We do not need bags under your eyes when you meet them."

"But father, even with bags under my eyes, I will still be a beauty." She remarked.

Asao sighed. This child of his. He was glad she had self-confidence, but....

She took the portfolio and before she exited out the door, the six year old stated. "Do not worry father, I will get a good night's sleep."

••••

"Mahiru!" His eyes shot open with tears in them, then they widened to see that a umber haired girl was laying next to him, gazing at him. He hurriedly rushed to use his sleeve to wipe his hot tears and sat up. "Who are you? Why are you on my bed?" He quizzed.

The girl only smiled, her cute dimple showing. Lifting a finger, she swiped away a tear he had missed. "They really showed no mercy. Not only giving you fractures they messed up your adorable face." She sat up too.

Because Guren had been meeting with Mahiru Hiragi, those from the Hiragi Clan had taught him a lesson, causing the young five year old boy to obtain fractures, a high fever and bruised face.

"But Little Guren, you were separated from Mahiru who you like, because you did not have enough power."

"You!" Guren shouted, but he stopped, clenching his balled hand. He acknowledged what the umber haired girl had said was true. It was because he didn't have enough power. Because he wasn't strong enough. He remembered Mahiru apologizing with tears in her eyes.

"Hah, I really do not like your face being in this state." Izarra pulled a out a spell tag from her pocket that had ancient characters scribe on it with her blood from her white frilly skirt where a light pink waistband laid on top. Gently pressing the spell tag on his forehead, it glowed gray.

Guren was stunned. He no longer felt any pain.

His fractures.

His bruises.

His fever.

Everything was gone.

He was completely healed by a single talisman.

Izarra smiled, "impressive, right?~ That healing spell tag was created by me.~" She examined Guren's body, "I must say, I am quite amazed by myself.~" The umber haired girl giggled.

Now Guren really pondered who this girl was because of the healing talisman she possessed and her personality.

Izarra pulled out her star notebook, then grabbed onto the lapels of the boy's yukata, pushing him down onto the bed.

Red swept over Guren's cheeks, "you! What do you think you are doing!"

"I cannot see if all your wounds are healed because you're wearing on clothes. I must examine you, to see if I need to make any improvements on this spell tag. This is a new healing spell tag that I just created, so I need to see the results." Izarra blankly answered. "Oh, you do not have to worry. I am not interest in your body. I am only interested in my spell tag's effects. Hah, you are blushing. There is no need to be embarrassed, Little Guren.~ You are five and I am six.~ It does not matter if I see you half-naked or naked. Or if you see me half-naked or naked."

"Who wants to see you naked!" Guren subconsciously took a shove at her, but was flabbergasted at how she easily fell off him, the bed then onto the ground. He thought it would be difficult to get her off of him if what the girl had said was true about her creating that high quality talisman that can heal like that, meaning possessed she strong magic.

She was weak. Really weak. Physically.

Izarra Honda was indeed a prodigy but only at magic. When her father had tried to train her in some kind of martial arts or kenjutsu, the umber haired girl just wasn't gifted enough to pursue in those areas. Her tremendous magical abilities made up for her being physically weak.

"Ow, Little Guren!" She puffed out her cheeks, then released the air that was in them. "Fine, I will not check. But be sure to tell me if you feel pain anywhere!"

"I don't." He said.

Izarra smirked, "then good.~" She giggled, "now then, since you are all healed, I shall help you become stronger!~"

"How exactly are you suppose to when you're weaker than me, idiot?"

"Only when it comes to things involving physical strength! But hey, I can use my magic to boost it for a certain period of time, okay! Even without physical strength, Little Guren I will still be able to defeat you in battle!" She threw Guren his wooden katana, then opened up the sliding doors, revealing the yard. She casted a spell and stone golems the same size as Guren were formed. "Get him my minions!"

And the battle commenced.

••••

Two children panted as they laid on the ground covered in sweat and dirt.

"See, I told you, Little Guren." Izarra smugly voiced.

She turned her head and so did Guren, meeting her gaze.

He had no comments. He admitted defeat.

"In your sleep, you were calling out Mahiru's name, about how you were not strong enough, how you wanted power, how you did not want your father looking so pitiful as he apologized to the Hiragi house. Now do you believe me? I will help you get stronger, Little Guren. Besides it is not only you gaining something from this, but so will I. By helping you train with my magic, I will also become stronger. And I think I will be able to come up with some interesting spells. Little Guren, let us become stronger together." She held out her pinky.

Guren couldn't believe he had allowed a complete stranger to witness him crying in his sleep and hear the things he had uttered. "Ok." He linked his pinky were her's. "I will not be in a state like that again. I am going to become stronger for my clan and those who serve us." He knew he truly would become stronger if they trained together.

"Oh Little Guren, you forgot to mention Mahiru.~" Izarra pointed out.

"Shut up. And don't call me, Little Guren."

"No can do. Since I am a year older than you, I get to call you Little Guren."

Guren thought this girl was impossible. Then he realized, she never had told him her name. If she had been apart of one clans that served his family, he was sure he would have heard of her, considering her magic."Your name?"

"Oh, it is Izarra Honda. Call me Zarra." She introduced herself, tilting her head to the side with a closed eye smile.

Honda? He had heard about the late Clan Head's Wife, Estelita Honda, who's magical capabilities one could only find in legends. This girl was her daughter.

"Hah, I am also your fiancee." She added.

The Ichinose's eyes grew as wide as saucers when he had heard this.

"But you do not have to worry. I am only interested in becoming stronger in magic, inventing new spells, magical tags and weapons. Besides my clan as well your clan will benefit from the allyship, both becoming more powerful." Izarra divulged.

The five year old boy knew about the benefits being true but ... the engagement.

"I can read your mind.~ Do not worry about the engagement, we can call it off when both of our clans has received benefits. And once you are all grown up you can marry Mahiru.~"

Before Guren could say anything, a maid took notice of them.

"Oh my! Guren-sama! Izarra-sama! What happened to you two! I will immediately prepare baths for you!" A servant exclaimed once she had seen the state of the children.

Just when Guren got up, Izarra jumped on his back, wrapping her arms around his neck. "Little Guren, we should take a bath together!~"
