It had been a week. An entire week that Dakota had been locked up inside a stupid room with security always at her door and it had hatches on the windows to avoid escape. One entire week that she had been completely alone and enclosed in a room. This wasn't a problem, she had spent almost three entire years locked up in the Sky block and she took this time to plan how she was going to kill Lexa.
All that was floating in Dakota's mind was that she actually handed over her trust to Lexa before the Mountain. She should of just grabbed the rope she had tied around her hands and wrapped it around the women's neck and it would of been done with. Finn would of been revenged, the deaths of her people could be revenged.
Truth was hard to escape and Dakota found herself wanting to return to her people. She wanted to see Raven, and talk about mechanics while she did Engineering. She wanted to see Octavia and train with her, sitting together at night, telling each other stories and their life on the Ark.
She wanted to see her stupid little munchkins, Monty and Jasper. She even missed the comfort of Miller, and how he hugged her during the rescue at Mount Weather. She wanted to be in Murphy's arms again, comforting each other. She smiled at the many memories that had happened over the months of being on the ground. These have been the best months of her life, and she wouldn't of wanted it any other way.
Most of all, she wanted to return to Bellamy. She wanted to run into his open arms and breath in that old jacket of his. She wanted to lay in bed all night, his hand playing with the strands of her hair as she traced the freckles on his skin. She wanted to feel his soft lips on hers as he kissed her passionately. But the look upon his face when she saw him in the forest had doubts cross her mind. It wouldn't be like that, she had messed up the thing that had mattered to her the most. The one person who showed her there was more to life than just surviving.
The door finally opened for the first time in a week, but she wasn't greeted with Clarke, it was Lexa standing in the doorway. Lexa walked straight into the room and Dakota stood from the chair by the window and cracked her neck as the door shut behind the Commander.
"Are you ready to talk?" Lexa asked, raising an eyebrow.
Dakota remained silent as she kept her back facing the Commander, letting the tears flow freely upon her cheeks. She didn't care about looking weak, to be honest, she felt she had been to strong for to long.
Lexa sighed at the silence that filled the room, she half expected Dakota to talk back with a snarky reply like she always had. But on closer exception, she noticed that the girl's shoulders shook as she tried not to break down in tears. "I've given you enough time to cool off."
"Cool off?" Dakota's head shot to the right, meeting bloodshot eyes with green ones as she stared at Lexa. "I threatened to kill you, Lexa. I don't need a time out, I want to kill you." She kissed, venom seeping through her harsh words and Lexa blinked, looking hurt by the girl's words.
"I get that your angry, Dakota-"
"I made a mistake. I believed I was doing the right thing by coming with Clarke, to protect her. Instead I got stuck with some banished prince and the Bitch ass Commander who locked me up for being a Nightblood."
Lexa nodded at the girls sudden outburst. "I'm hosting a summit tonight at sundown, Clarke has already agreed that your people are going to become my people." Dakota looked at Lexa, her face seeming stone cold as she looked out the window.
"I doubt Clarke agreed." She rolled her eyes, feeling slightly betrayed by her friend who she had risked her own life trying to protect her. Clarke was the reason she was here in the first place, if she never tried to be the big hero, she would still be out in the wilderness looking for a that damn deer.
"Clarke understands the needs that must be attended to in order to keep her people safe." Lexa told her gently as Dakota let out a large scoff.
Dakota spun around, tears coming out of her brown eyes. "And I don't!" She yelled, "I have done everything for my people! I have taken the blame and had been tortured to save my people! I have put my life in front of my people! I almost died for my people!" She finished, giving a furious nod before slamming her fist down at the concrete of the windowsill, Lexa's eyes looked down at Dakota's fist, her knuckles stained black as the blood pooled out of the wound.
"You'll be free soon, Dakota." Lexa whispered as she started walking towards the door. "At the end of the summit, you'll be free to go." She whispered before the door was closed behind her, and locked.
Dakota looked up quickly, turning her attention towards the closed door. Her feet carried her quickly as her fists pounded on the door. "You can't keep me locked up in here!" She growled. "Lexa! Just let me out!" She screamed and gave one final punch.

Hours she had waited until her doors were open again. She expected to see Lexa, but instead two grounder women who were there to dress her for the summit. Dakota had argued against it, she would never willingly bow down to the Commander and she knew Lexa knew that as well.
Dakota stood there, standing in front of a body length mirror, staring down at herself. She had taken a bath earlier, her hair bouncing back in natural curls that cascaded down her back. Her whole body was free from grime and the wound that was on her shoulder had been taken care of. Her left side of her head had been braided back so tightly, it looked like half of her head had been shaved. She stood there, bare backed with just undergarments on, staring at the plentiful scars that littered her body.
"Trikova Gona, we have the prince. He wished to see you." Someone spoke up behind her, and she wondered how long he had stood there.
"Bring him in," She spoke and requested a leather robe to put over her naked body. Roan walked in, looking better than she had last seen him. His hair was braided back on both sides. His face was cleaned. "Out." Dakota had commanded the two women who was helping her get dressed.
"To who do I owe the honor, your majesty?" Dakota mocked as she stood down from the steps that was in front of the mirror and tied up the front of her rope.
"Don't stop on my account," Roan's eyes scanned down the brunette. "The Commander has broke our deal."
Dakota scoffed as she stood in front of Roan. "And that's my problem, because?"
"Three is better than two. I've talked with Clarke and I think she's willing to strike at the summit tonight." Dakota narrowed her eyes up at Roan. "I know you two don't get along."
"You're asking me to strike against the Commander?" Dakota's lips twisted up in a small smile as she turned her back. "What's in it for me?"
"A place at my side." Roan offered. "When Azgeda takes control over the Coalition, you will have a permanent spot in the Ice Nation that will secure your safety."
"You've betrayed me before, how can I trust you?"
"Become my second."
Dakota's eyes held Roan's for a moment and held her chin up, her eyes squinting to see any sign of lies in his face. She looked away and pursed her lips. "An attempting offer, your majesty."
"It won't stand forever. Are you with me or not?" Roan eyed her as she walked towards him. Dakota let out a sigh and with a nod of her head, Roan smiled slightly.
"I have a summit to get ready for," Dakota gestured towards the door, indicating for him to leave.
The ladies came in again, and started dressing her for the summit. She bit down on her bottom lip as the door behind them closed and Roan couldn't be seen. The ladies had painted her face with black shadow and mascara.
Her body was wrapped in a beautiful black body suit, a see-through skirt flowing down her legs, the bottom trailing behind her. She wore a bracelet that laced up her wrist and stopped at her elbow, but it also went along her hand and wrapped around her index finger. It was black, making her seem more dangerously beautiful. A cloak was placed upon her shoulders, black like the night-cascading her in darkness.
The two women finished the last touches on her hair before they stood back and admired their work, smiling hugely before they left the room and a guard entered.
"Trikova Gona, the Commander is waiting." Dakota nodded slightly before giving herself one last look in the mirror. She let out an exhale and turned around, making her way through the hallway, holding her cape that trailed behind her so she wouldn't trip.
Clarke stood in front of a metal door, holding her head high and Dakota stopped in front of her. "I'm sorry I couldn't save you myself." Dakota said as she looked over at the blonde girl.
Clarke stared at her for a moment before leaning closer. "It was for the best. We've gotten this far. Don't do anything stupid just keep your head high, okay?" Clarke gave her a look, and she knew she was talking about Roan.
"What if I want to do something stupid?" Dakota leaned over and whispered.
Clarke looked over at her sideways. "Do this for your people, Dakota. Not Lexa, not me. Lexa dies, and our people die." Clarke said seriously before the doors opened and Clarke stared straight ahead, her eyes widened in surprise but she hid it away with a face of determination.
Yumi na teik won sonraun au?
A blonde Grounder woman was singing beautifully, holding her head high as she sang in Trigedasleng. Dakota's footing copied Clarke's as she stood side by side holding her head up high as the eyes of the Grounders and their own people fell on them.
Medo ste thonken
Dakota ignored the looks she was getting, she knew that she was doing it to protect her people. The summit would protect her people for as long as she could stand Lexa.
Medo drein au. Oso kik raun, Ogeda soulou
When they reached the steps to the throne Clarke instantly kneeled down before Lexa, her head hung low as Lexa rose above her but Dakota continued to stare into the Commander's eyes.
Ai laik yu gona, Ai na get raun, you.
Her eyes held her gaze and she saw the flash of worry that she wouldn't get on her knees and bow. But when she did, Lexa's chest fell as she exhaled in relief. Dakota glanced back and her eyes landed on Prince Roan whom held her gaze before he himself, got on one knee and bowed his head. She knew he wouldn't bow before her, if she didn't. Everyone else followed, getting down onto their knees.
Lexa watched before she spoke, "Hail, warriors of the twelve clans."
"Hail, Commander of the blood." Everyone said after her before she held out her hands.
"Rise," Everyone around them did as they were told. "We welcome Skaikru into our halls in the spirit of friendship and harmony and we welcome Clarke kom Skaikru, Legendary Wanheda, Mountain Slayer." She said, looking out to her people meeting the eyes of many.
"And we welcome Dakota kom Skaikru, the Trikova Gona, the symbol of chaos and fury." Lexa met Dakota's gaze as she moved towards her own people.
"The reason for this summit has changed. We are not here to negotiate a treaty with the Skaikru but rather to initiate them into the coalition." Lexa announced and instantly the people inside the room began whispering amongst themselves and Dakota turned her head to look at Roan who was standing beside her.
"To symbolise this union, the leader of Skaikru must bear our mark." She said, looking towards where Kane and Abby stood amongst the group. Dakota widened her eyes when her father had stepped forward.
"Present your arm." The man did as he was told and a symbol was burned down onto his forearm seconds before the doors were pushed open.
Dakota's head perked up and she looked towards the door, seeing a group of people bursting in and her eyes widened before she quickly stood her ground.
"What is the meaning of this?" The bald man that followed Lexa around asked in outrage as the group held their weapons to their guards.
"Bellamy?" Clarke's voice called out.
"The summit, it's a trap." Bellamy said, his voice low as he stepped towards Clarke and Dakota. "We need to get you two out of here."
Clarke looked over at Dakota and then back at Roan. "What the hell is going on?"
"It's the Ice Nation -"
"These allegations are an outrage!" A man yelled out as he stepped forward, "The Ice Nation never stormed this summit with weapons, breaking our laws. That was the Skaikru!"
"We're right about this." Pike insisted, nodding his head towards Bellamy. "The two guards you left behind are dead already, we need to go." He said in panic and Lexa looked down at him.
"How did you come by the information?" She questioned and the group looked around, seeming to be searching for someone who was not there anymore.
"Where the hell is Echo?" Octavia hissed over at her brother, wavering her sword at the guard's neck.
"What's going on? Where the hell is she?" He asked as he spun around, searching for the girl named Echo who has obviously fled.
"Bellamy, maybe we were wrong about this." Octavia whispered, her eyes darting around the room in panic.
"I don't understand." He mumbled, looking down to the ground as the group of Skaikru released their hostages.
"Bellamy, Bellamy. Come in." Raven's voice echoed from the radio that was strapped onto Bellamy's belt. Bellamy grabbed the radio between his fingers and held it to his lips, "The Grounders attacked Mount Weather." Raven yelled through the radio, her voice crackling slightly.
"What are you talking about?" Bellamy asked.
"It's gone, it's gone. They're all gone." She told him, her voice completely breaking and Dakota could hear her crying. "Sinclair and I are the only ones left," She released a sob and Dakota's eyes widened. "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry." She cried before the radio went dead and everyone in the room fell silent.
Dakota's eyes darted over towards Roan, pure rage and hatred flowing into her features as Roan shook his head, showing he had no idea this was going to happen. "You should have never moved your people back into Mount Weather. The Ice Nation did what the Commander was too weak to do!" He yelled, looking towards Lexa.
"This is an act of war!" Lexa yelled, her entire stance seeming larger and more fiercer than anyone in the room and Dakota looked over at her, seeing the rage burning in the woman's eyes.
"This is justice!" The man yelled back and Lexa's nostrils flared and her chest heaved as she made a move down the steps. "Sentries, arrest the Ice Nation delegation, including the prince."
Abby faced Marcus, "We need to get home. If they attacked Mount Weather, Arkadia could be next."
"I agree." Kane nodded.
Lexa walked down the stairs, standing beside Dakota. "Go. Marshal your forces. We'll avenge the attack together."
"I'll escort them." Indra offered, pausing when she walked by Octavia. "I hope you kept up your training. You'll need it." The guards of Skaikru began to follow behind her.
"Clarke, Dakota, we need to leave now." Bellamy warned her, but Lexa was quick to argue.
"We need an ambassador from the 13th Clan to stay here in Polis."
"It's not safe here." He sneered at the Commander.
Lexa looked over at Dakota briefly before returning her gaze at Bellamy. "Clarke and Dakota will be safe here under my protection."
Bellamy went back to argue but Clarke had stepped up. "Bellamy.. I have to stay."
"Clarke-" Abby whispered, not wanting her to stay here.
"I need to make sure she keeps her word." Clarke whispered and Dakota walked over looking at her father and embracing him in a hug.
"Stay safe." She heard her father say.
Clarke smiled when Dakota and her father split. "You, too."
Marcus and Abby then walked out with the others, Bellamy looked up at Clarke, glaring at her. "She left us to die on that mountain. She will always put her people first. You should come home to yours." He didn't say it aloud, but it was his last offer of forgiveness.
But Clarke knew what she had to do. "I'm sorry." It was those two words that had Bellamy walking straight out before giving a brief glance over at Dakota.
