|03| Wanheda

Dakota reached for her knife that was lodged in the back of the Grounder's neck. The man, who was standing a few feet away from her, looked at her with caution. He had never saw a Skaigada with that much battle potential before and he found himself in a sticky situation. If he provoked her in a wrong way, she would surely have him at the tip of her blade. She wouldn't kill him, that's for sure but it would leave him injured and that's one thing he couldn't have. Not while he was hunting down Wanheda and the Nightblood.

Dakota wiped her blade in her black duster coat before looking up at the man before her. "What did I tell you about pointing that sword at me," She said as she got up from the Grounder. "Someone could get hurt." She raised an eyebrow as she straightened herself and faced him.

The Grounder looked at the younger girl carefully. "Why do you insist on helping me, Skaigada?" He pressed, not knowing what her true intentions were of helping find this Wanheda. He truly didn't want to share with the reward her helping him find her, but whatever information she had could be valuable.

The Sky girl shrugged her shoulders. "I'm a helpful person."

"I have a hard time someone would go out of their way and help someone without wanting something in return. Now, tell me. What's your price?"

Dakota took a breather while looking at him. Her lips pursed as she scanned down the rather.. attractive Grounder. Even under all that mud, she could see that he had a chiselled jaw, and prominate cheekbones. "Why does everyone expect that I want something in return?" She questioned as she approached closer to Roan. "Do you want my help or not?"

Roan stared at her hard before putting his sword back into it's scabbard while turning back around and started walking away from her. Dakota started following after him, walking up beside him. "There's a trading post not far from here. We should start there." She told him. "At least give me a name, or something?" She pushed further when the man didn't answer her.

He turned back around, looking at her carefully as Dakota came to a complete stop just inches away from him. "Roan."

Dakota nodded with a smile on her face. "Roan.. I'm Dakota, pleasure to make your acquaintance."

Bellamy hadn't felt so nervous in his life until now. The remain of hope that was left behind from his soul was now rekindled upon Indra's words. Dakota was not dead, she was being hunted. Monty drove the Rover and he wished he would've taken the oppourinty to drive instead, something to keep his mind off of Clarke and Dakota.

"I'm still getting used to it myself," Kane's voice broke out the silence in the back seat as the Rover moved over the rough terrain. Indra nodded at him, but before she could of replied, Monty spoke up.

"Sir, we're almost out of range," Monty warned wearily as he glanced from the radar bedside him and onto the road in front of him. "Are you sure you don't wanna tell the Chancellor?"

"I'm sure. I don't wanna worry Abby until we know something."

"We know there's a kill order." Bellamy muttered sourly from the passenger seat of the vehicle. "You people are big on those."

"It's not a kill order, it's a bounty," Indra explained. "Clarke's a symbol. She's known as Wanheda. The Commander of Death."

Bellamy turned around to look at the passengers in the back. "The Ice Nation guys we killed asked about Wanheda. They're looking for Clarke. Why?"

"My people believe that when you kill someone, you gain their power. As Wanheda, Clarke is believed to wield the power of death after the incident at the Mountain. Kill Wanheda, become the Commander of Death."

"She's just one girl," Kane argued.

"So was the Commander," Indra fired back. "What Clarke did at Mount Weather weakened her. The Ice Nation is emboldened. Their Queen wants Clarke's power. If her people believe she has it, they'll break the coalition to start a war. As I said before, they had no regard for the coalition in the first place. I will not let them start a war against my people."

Kane stared at Indra as he deciphered what she was saying, "And what of Dakota?" Kane asked, "Why is she being hunted?"

"She's being hunted for the Conclave. Dakota has Nightblood running in her veins, Spies track down the Nightbloods and put them in a fighting cage to fight for the death and who wins, becomes the next Commander."

Bellamy shook his head. "I still don't understand. You said their blood is black? Dakota doesn't have black blood."

"Well she does now, Commander Lexa doesn't lie to her people."

Before Indra could explain anything else, there was a beeping on Monty's radar. He glanced at it for a moment before taking in a deep breath. "Welcome to Sector 7. Where to now?"

"If they're here, they'll need supplies," Indra thought aloud. "We'll start at the trading posts."

Monty nodded cautiously and moved his foot to step on the accelerator, launching them faster and further into the Ice Nation's territory.

Dakota opened the door to the Trader's post to find two women chatting inside, which looked like it was getting quite heated. The Red headed girl had a hold onto the blonde's arm. The minute she had stepped in, with Roan behind her they immediately split up.

"Yu gada som in na kof op? [You have something to trade?]" The blonde looked at the both of them warily, but her back straightened up when Roan sauntered over behind Dakota, his eyes caught the Blonde women, and then fixed his attention to the Red-head.

"Ai don as yu prom op. [I asked you a question.]" The lady pushed him further when he paused to take a look at the Red-head. He then turned his body to face Dakota and held her gaze, moving his eyes over to the Red-head. It was clear he was hinting her to get a closer look at her face, seeing if this was the 'Wanheda' he was looking for.

Dakota gave him a small nod and began walking over slowly, making sure to look at the supplies. "Yu don sin disha plan in? [Have you seen this woman?]" Roan asked the Trade post owner to distract her Dakota.

Dakota began walking closer to the Red-head and once she was side by side. She could see the girl's shoulder's tense up. Dakota's hand grabbed a hold of her own hood and fixed it on her head to get a closer look. The Red-head quickly glimpsed at the girl, earning her a surprised stare when she realized the girl behind the hood was one of her own people.

"Biyo laik em na hos of gon nout, ste mafta trei kom Idon op. [Said she was going north, following Eden's path.]"

For a second, Clarke had lost herself in Dakota. Clarke, wondered how long Dakota had been out here, like her. Noting that she was with a Bounty Hunter, that was hunting her. Unanswered questions floated in her mind, things that she wanted an explanation for, but couldn't open her mouth to speak in fear that she would be noticed.

Dakota turned on her heel towards Roan and spoke. "Azgeda." She noted and Roan nodded and turned towards her, but his eyes focused on the red-head, who was Clarke behind her. Clarke shot her head down as soon as they met eyes but that didn't stop Roan from gazing at her as he stepped forwards the door to leave.

Dakota followed suit and took one look behind her, as did Clarke meeting eyes before the door closed behind her. "So what's your plan? It should be getting dark soon, we should maybe wait." Dakota said as she looked up at the sun which was almost touching the horizon, indicating that dark was in a hour or so.

Roan walked behind the Trader's post not even caring for the Sky Girl following behind him. He had his information, and he had Wanheda in his grasps. He didn't need her anymore, time to clean up the loose ends. His sword came out of his scabbard and Roan spun so quickly that Dakota didn't have time to react to the sword pressing against her skin.

Dakota's eyes widen in shock and she panicked. "Wait!" She choked out as the sword pierced her throat. "I'm worth more to you alive." She could feel her own blood trickle down into her duster coat and her left arm came up to grab Roan's arm.

"Tell me why I shouldn't kill you now, Skaigada." Roan growled behind her, tightening his hold he had on her. His sword was surely digging into her throat and he knew she was struggling for air now.

Dakota's bare hand squeezed Roan's blade and black blood began to leak over the metal. "Because I have the Blood of the Commanders." She felt Roan's grip around her loosen and the sword that was cutting in across her neck was brought down.

When Dakota separated herself across from Roan, Roan looked at her up and down before eyeing the black blood that was dripping down into her coat. "I can help you bring Wanheda to whoever is paying the price for her head." Dakota said quickly as she found herself at the tip of his blade. "You're not the only one hunting her,"

"I don't need your help. You helped me find her and now you no longer have a purpose in this matter."

"What makes you think you can get her to wherever your going safely?" Dakota pressed, "I can protect you on the way, Ai laik yu gona. [I am your soldier.]"

Roan gave her a look of question. She was right, there was no telling what he would face when he transported Wanheda back to Azgeda to lift his banishment. Other's were looking for Wanheda as well and no doubt they would try to kill him to get to her. "Clean the blood off your neck." Roan snapped at the girl as he put his sword back into his scabbard. "We will wait until Wanheda comes back out. She can't hide in there forever."
