Tony was ecstatic by lunch time. He ran in and found Steve in the crowd, sitting with their large group of friends. Natasha, Bucky, and Sam were there, and so were Clint, Bruce, Rhodey, Thor, and Pepper. Luckily, Steve saw Tony coming. The super-soldier was able to stand in time to catch his genius boyfriend in a huge hug.

"I did it, Steve!" Tony cried. "I got a part!"

Steve unwrapped his arms from Tony's waist and held the shorter boy's biceps, "What part did you get?"

"Link!"

Everyone at the table cheered and it caught the attention of the whole cafeteria. Mrs. Carter gave them a look, so they got quiet and Steve and Tony sat down. But that didn't stop the chatter at their table. Tony talked about his rehearsal schedule, Steve told him the days that he and the others were going to be working on the set pieces and they could ride home together, and Pepper, Clint, and Rhodey asked who they had to talk to to get in on helping backstage with anything.

It was a good lunch period. But the bell rang and they all had to leave to class. Tony and Steve had a sparring class next, and Steve could hardly get Tony to focus. It's hard to practice earnestly when your partner won't focus and you're trying to get in good hits, but they're not blocking and you don't want to hurt them. After class, they gave each other a goodbye kiss and promised to ride together after rehearsal that evening.

Tony hurried off to the advanced mechanics class he had with Bruce. They worked on their project for that term - a new Iron Man suit - and talked about the show. Bruce knew that talking would keep Tony at least partly on task.

"Link, huh? That's a pretty big part!"

"I know! I was expecting to get one of the other chorus guys, but Mr. Coulson and Miss Hill really liked my audition with Carol. And she got Tracy! They'll have to get her a fat suit - they'd have to for any of those girls, y'know - but she's got a great voice. And she can dance, Bruce. I'm telling you what. I can do the steps they taught us, but she's got moves all her own - like Tracy! She's perfect for it. And Jennifer is Penny, which I think is great because of character parallels. And Storm is..."

Tony went on until class ended and then tried to make it through his last class (profiling, ugh) before running to the auditorium for rehearsal. It was fun, getting to learn the song and dance for his first scene. And it took some time to get used to Sharon, the girl playing Amber, as his dancing partner, but they found a rhythm and were great.

But, by far, the best part of rehearsal was watching Steve smile and paint with his friends, and then know he got to drive that gorgeous boy home afterwards.
