Personality
Before gaining his powers, Peter was a typical school nerd, shy, smart, awkward, unlucky with girls, and constant target of bullying. After gaining his powers and becoming a celebrity, all the sudden fame made Peter become an selfish and arrogant, avoiding preventing a theft simply because he thought it was not his problem.
However, after discovering that his selfishness and lack of responsibility made him indirectly responsible for his Uncle Ben's death, Peter dedicated himself to becoming a righteous, brave and selfless hero with a strong sense of justice and responsibility, living by his uncle's words of wisdom: "With Great Power, comes Great Responsibility." This side has made him respected by many other heroes as well.
As Spider-Man, Peter's most prominent traits is his wisecracking side, cracking jokes even when he is about to die. The reasons are that either he wants to relieve the stress of a situation, or simply because he wants to hide how scared he really is during a crisis. Also, he does this to get on the nerves of his opponents, since he knows that if they are angry, that they would normally lose themselves and be vulnerable to a superior skilled opponent. It is generally agreed, however, that whenever a life is in danger, he will stop telling jokes and take the current situation with the utmost seriousness.
Biography
Peter Benjamin Parker was born in Queens, New York to Richard and Mary Parker, who died when he was very young, and lived with his Uncle Ben and Aunt May. Growing up, Peter was shown to be a prodigy in science, which often made him target of bullies, including Eugene "Flash" Thompson.
During his visit to a science exhibit showcasing genetically modified insects, Peter is bitten by one of the spiders that were genetically modified through radiation that escaped its containment. Soon, Peter develops spider-like powers, including superhuman physical abilities and senses, along with the ability to walk and crawl on walls and able to shoot webs from his wrists.
After getting his powers, Peter decides to make money out of them by making a costume and becomes a celebrity, especially in wrestling after using his powers to defeat many wrestlers in a match. However, after a match, he ignores a thief who was fleeing from a security guard.
Later after going home, Peter learns that Uncle Ben was shot and killed by a robber, and tracks him down. As Peter knocks out the robber, he learns that he's the same thief from before who he ignored and allowed him to escape. Wacked with guilt and remembering his uncle's advice: "With great power, comes great responsibility", Peter decides to use his powers for good and fight crime.
Donning a spandex costume made out of red and blue, Peter calls himself "Spider-Man", and becomes a superhero saving the city. While his heroic deeds manage to help out many people, Peter earns the wrath of J. Jonah Jameson, a newspaper publisher of the Daily Bugle who calls him a menace, who also happen to be his boss as Peter gets a job as a freelance photographer for Jameson in order to financially support his aunt after graduating from high school.
During his time as Spider-Man, he fights many enemies, including two of his worst ones: Green Goblin, a masked villain who is Norman Osborn, a billionaire scientist who is the father of his best friend Harry, after becoming insane while testing with experimental performance enhancing drug, and Otto Octavius a.k.a. Doctor Octopus, a mad scientist who became supervillain with four mechanical arms after they fused with him during an accident and turned to a life of crime.
He also fought many other villains, including superpowered and non-superhumans like Max Dillon a.k.a. Electro, an electrician who gained electric powers, Flint Marko a.k.a. Sandman, a petty criminal who gained the ability to control and transform into sand after falling into a sand irradiated from experimental reactor, The Lizard, who is his college professor Curt Connors who became a monster after developing a serum based on lizard that would help him grow his missing arm, Adrian Toomes a.k.a. Vulture, a criminal who don a modified wingsuit, Quentin Back a.k.a. Mysterio, a former special effects artist and an illusionist who turned to a life of crime, Alex O'Hirn a.k.a. The Rhino, a thug with an artificial armored skin, and Kraven the Hunter, a Russian big game hunter who sees Spider-Man as his greatest prey.
Peter also goes through many challenges, including the deaths of his girlfriend Gwen Stacy and her father, police captain George Stacy at the hands of Green Goblin, who accidentally kills himself during a battle where he is impaled by his own glider. This incident also causes Harry to go insane from his hatred toward Spider-Man that would turn him into supervillain Hobgoblin after he discovers his father's goblin formula and perfects them.
While working through his grief, Peter founds a new romantic relationship with Mary Jane Watson, though they later fall out, but later becomes romantically involved with Felicia Hardy a.k.a. Black Cat, a costumed thief with the ability to give bad luck to others. While their relationship becomes tense after Peter learns that Felicia's father was the same thief who murdered his uncle Ben, they later reconcile and continue their relationship, and even working as partners with Black Cat now becoming a vigilante.
Peter later also comes in contact with a sentient black costume that is actually an alien called Symbiote, which augmented his spider powers but at the same time it also had his personality become more violent and aggressive. Seeing the danger the alien costume possessed, Peter removed the symbiote with help from Black Cat. However, the symbiote would bond with Eddie Brock, Peter's co-worker who was disgraced due to Spider-Man exposing him and become Venom, his toughest adversary. After a long feud, eventually Spider-Man and Venom would make peace and Eddie would go on to become an anti hero, as the "lethal protector".
In his times, Spider-Man would occasionally team up with other superheroes, including the Avengers, the X-Men, and the Fantastic Four. He would later be offered by Hank Pym, the superhero Yellowjacket and formerly Ant-Man, to join a new team of superheroes called the Ultimates.

Enhanced Physiology: After being bitten by a spider that was genetically engineered by radiation, the spider's genetic makeup fused with his DNA and Peter's physiology became altered and enhanced to superhuman level while possessing the powers of a spider.
Superhuman Strength: Also called Spider Strength, Peter possesses superhuman physical strength that is strong enough to crush steel, lift and throw objects that are larger and heavier than him, and even allows him to jump to a height of several stories of buildings in a single bound. He is even strong enough to punch a person's jaw off or crush their bones with a single grip.
Superhuman Speed: Peter is able to run and move at incredible speed, which he uses when swinging on his webs. His speed also allows him to possess incredible agility and reflexes, as his equilibrium, dexterity, and flexibility are all enhanced to levels that are beyond the natural physical limits of the finest human athlete. Peter is exceptionally agile and acrobatic in his movements, surpassing that of an Olympic gymnast; he can leap 40 feet into the air without feeling bound by gravity. He moves with a lithe, skittering grace that seems barely human.
Superhuman Durability: Peter's body is physically tougher and more resistant to some types of injury than the body of a normal human. The silk of the webs are released through a spinneret near each wrist containing a central web spigot orifice used for web-slinging and draglines, supplemented by several radial minor spigots for other types of webs connected to specialized glands. His webs are very flexible and durable, as it is strong enough to catch and hold tons of weight, even stronger than steel cable.
