Today it was you and Ulaz's first anniversary, the anniversary for when the two of you became mates in his culture. You both had been through so much together in the past two years yet you both have grown stronger together as a couple, nothing could tear you both apart. You couldn't help but reminiscent about the past two years that you've known him.

      ~ Beginning of your memory ~

It was the second night that you and Ulaz were sleeping in the same bed, things were going good until you felt the bed shifting and you heard growling. You opened your eyes and looked at Ulaz who was having a nightmare.

"Ulaz, wake up." You whispered as you gently shook his shoulder.

He growled louder in his sleep before he curled up and began crying a little.

"Ulaz, please wake up, it's only a nightmare." You said a little louder.

His eye suddenly shot open wide and he sat up and breathed heavily.

"Y-Y/n?" He asked you in a shaky voice.

"Yes, I'm here." You said calmly.

"I-I'm sorry I woke you." He said sadly.

"It's okay, but what were you dreaming about?" You asked him curiously.

"It's best that you don't know." Ulaz said as he looked away from you.

"Ulaz, it's better if you get it off your chest, I promise that I won't think you're weak." You said as you sat closer to him.

"I-I dreamt a-about my final battle in my demention, I dreamt of the things that happened to me right before I got to the Paladins and the RoBeast folding in on itself. I should have died that day. But not even I knew that it would send me to another demention." Ulaz told you as he finally let a few tears out, something he hadn't done in years.

"Ulaz, you're safe now, there's nothing to worry about." You said as he looked at you.

"I- thank you Y/n." Ulaz purred as he kissed you.

"We should get back to sleep." You told him.

"Yes, goodnight Y/n." Ulaz said as he laid back down.

"Goodnight Ulaz." You said as you cuddled with him.

As you slept, Ulaz was in the kitchen making breakfast for both of you to enjoy in bed together. He had been reminiscing about the things that he's been through ever since he came to your demention and how he's changed. He never thought that he would ever settle down and have a beautiful mate and kits, but here he was. Ulaz smiled as he placed two plates of food on a tray and carried it up to your shared bedroom. He was proud to call you his mate, you were beautiful, kind, strong and smart but at the same time you could be tough when you needed to.

         ~ Start of Ulaz's memory ~

You and Ulaz were dumping weeds outside the fence when you both heard a rattling sound.

"What is that?" Ulaz asked you when he pointed to something near his feet.

"Ulaz, don't move, that's a rattlesnake, they're poisonous!" You told Ulaz as you ran into the house.

He looked at the rattlesnake that moved from in front of him to behind him, his heart pounding a little.

"Okay Ulaz, slowly move away from the snake." You said seriously.

He did as you said and you shot the rattlesnake in it's head with your father's hunting rifle. The snake continued moving so you grabbed a shovel, quickly dug a hole, cut the snake's head off with the shovel and buried it.

"Are you okay Ulaz?" You asked him after you put the shovel down.

"I am alright." He replied.

"Good, I didn't want you to get hurt." You said as you hugged Ulaz.

"What do you intend to do with the snake's body?" Ulaz asked you.

"I might skin it and mount the skin on a board and hang it on the wall." You said with a smile.

Ulaz had walked into your shared room and smiled when he saw that you were still asleep.

"Y/n, wake up." He whispered as he kissed your cheek.

"Mmm, good morning Ulaz." You said as you started to wake up.

"Do you remember what day it is?" He asked you.

"Yeah, I do." You said with a smile.

"I brought breakfast." He said as he sat next to you on your bed, putting the tray on both your laps.

"Thank you Ulaz." You said as you kissed him.

"You are welcome, Y/n." He said as he kissed you.

"Mmm, this is really good." You said as you began eating.

"Only the best, for you." Ulaz said as he ate.

"So, what about the kids?" You suddenly asked him after a few minutes of eating in silence.

"Your parents will take care of them for today so that we can have our privacy." Ulaz purred.

You blushed when he said you both would have some 'privacy' for the entire day. You already knew that you probably wouldn't be walking later.
