"You're hopeless, Char. You can't even make your own breakfast to eat," Miriam ranted as she moved around in his kitchen.
Her back was facing him as she made him scrambled eggs with toast and jam. Charlie smiled as he watched her. He missed her. He never laid eyes on another woman since they broke up.
"I know," he muttered with a smile. "You've always told me how hopeless I'd be without you."
Miriam froze, then she continued to cook the eggs. "Well, I wasn't wrong."
"No, you never are."
She finished making the eggs, then put it on a plate. She all ready plated the toast with jam on it. She put a fork onto the side of the plate, then gave it to Charlie.
"Enjoy. I've got rounds to run because a certain Dragonologist decided to injure himself."
"If Neel weren't so stubborn, I would have never gotten injured," he retorted. "But I take the blame for Suckle's behavior. I've raised her since she was in egg form. She gets excited with just about any male dragon, but she seems to be very aggressive with Neel. She reminds me of someone I used to know during my years at Hogwarts."
Charlie was staring straight at Miriam.
"What, me? I have never been that aggressive to you," she retorted.
"You were an aggressive person in general, Miriam. Perhaps, we should switch dragons when I get better. You can help Suckle control her anger, and I can somehow get Neel to like me," he suggested.
"I feel like I'll have more success with Suckle than you would with Neel."
Charlie smiled. "And you're always right."
"That may just be the only thing about me that hasn't changed."
